it took me almost an hour last night but i have a lad!! never crossed my mind that i’d make a mercar first but here we are. it fit him the most as i made him. his name’s meraad. i didn’t have any rooks planned out pre game so im very excited to get to meet him.

2. How did Rook get the nickname? What do they think of it?

During a job, he might've. Taken out a wall. When asked why he snarked back that it wasn't his idea, he was just a pawn in someone else's plan. Varric found that charming and incorrect. Rook now finds the name interesting, though he's still getting used to it.

12. Does Rook have any family? Do they keep in touch?

He does not! He remembers both his parents and the woman that took them all in with happiness, but his parents were older when they had him and his adoptive aunt even older. He supposes he technically has some adoptive cousins out there, since his aunt did have grown children, but they've never been close, and while he wishes them nothing but the best and he'd help them in a heartbeat, he doesn't really consider them family.

22. Most embarrassing memory as a teenager:

He tried very, very hard to help his aunt repair an old barn on her property. About the only time her kids felt like family was when he turned up on their doorstep, covered in soot, wondering if they would be interested in some last minute barn building before she got back.

32. How would a desire demon tempt Rook?

Power. Power to help, power to do better. He remembers how, though his parents were old, they were broken well beyond their years, and he doesn't want anyone else to go through that - ever, if he can help it.

just met taash and this would be even more complicated for meraad since he grew up without a mom :/

Meraad is like. Two seconds from yelling at Varric and disappearing into Arlathan Forest to be honest. I'd imagine Lace sees it. Maybe Davrin after a bit. And if he doesn't joke about it, it'll be so much worse.
