Mermay time? MERMAY TIME!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I was hit with an idea. Human Regris with mer Pidge. I was craving both and just combined them together and I am more than pleased! So here we have Regris hanging out with his newfound aquatic friend and showing her a tablet he has. I love it.

Also, thanks to @zipp0flare, @toasthoneyandstardust, and @breadstickcat for helping me figure out Pidge's colours. Colouring a mermaid is harder than it seems at times.

Hey, on the plus side, at least Keith actually ends up talking to Shiro when he starts suspecting that he might be half Galra. They both know that if he was 100% himself right now, he probably would not be doing that. This is a fact they are likely both keenly aware of during the discussion. Shiro encourages Keith to talk to the team about it, but ultimately makes sure he knows it's his decision.

Chapter Two: Lapping Waves pt. 2

First chapter here!

It'd been a normal day, swimming around and avoiding any Galra he could. The blue-finned merman swam as carefully as he could, the emerald merperson following behind with complaints every which turn. "The scaleless beings could see us! Or worse! They could catch us in their nets!" They exclaimed, flailing their arms around. "Relax! We haven't spotted any in a while, and they stay clear of here! The only thing is Galra, which is okay I suppose. We can avoid them! Now c'mon!" Lance says hurriedly, grabbing the other's hand.

They both settled on the rock, soaking in the sun. "Y'know, I kind of wanna see a human one day." Lance murmurs, a brown and a blue eye fixed on the white blobs above them. "Why? They've done enough for the sea for eons." Pidge mutters, swishing their tail absentmindedly. Talking flowed easily, as both bickered and on more than one occasion threw the other into the water.

"You know, I kind of want to learn what all they know," Pidge says, lifting a hand and tracing the outline of a dark cloud. "It'd be nice, y'know?" they murmur, Lance bobbing his head. "Yeah... it would be. Hey, the cloud's changed a lot." He says, sitting up quickly. Both frowned at the way the ocean was noticeably colder, at the way the wind grew angry, at the way the sky grew dark.

"We should go." They say, slipping into the water easily. Lance startles when they pull on his tail, a scowl present. "C'mon Lance! We have to go!" He splutters, pointing roughly. "There's a floating rock!" Over in the distance, but not too far, was a single human rowboat. It didn't appear to have anyone inside it, and he wanted to investigate it.

"No! Lance, we have to go now!" They exclaimed as the waves got rougher, trying to tug Pidge from Lance. The blue mer ignored the desperate pleas, swimming under towards the boat, even as the water grew rougher and rougher. Watching as the boat turned, he startled, nudging backward slightly. When the boat flipped entirely he gasped, watching a human spill into the water. The human struggled to surface, getting shoved under several times over. It was only when the human's struggling began to cease that the young mer swam over, making eye contact briefly. Purple eyes stared back, rich and beautiful as the being's eyes fluttered, then closed.

It was a bit too easy, dragging him into a cave with an air pocket, smacking his back until water spewed from his throat as he coughed. Watching as the human lost consciousness again, he noticed Pidge enter.

A beat.

Another beat.

"LANCE YOU IMBECILE WHY WOULD YOU BRING THEM HERE?!?!"

Voltron alien defenders (aka the reality where lance is a mermaid)

A voltron AU where the paladins of voltron are actually all aliens. Well, all except for shiro, he’s the only human on the team.

Shiro- human

Keith- galra

Lance- Mer

Hunk- Balmeran

Pidge- Olkari

In this reality, The paladins don’t find the blue lion together and get taken to the castle of lions. Nope, in this reality, they each find their own respective lions on their own and are brought to the castle.

The first chapter tells how Lance the Mer finds the blue lion.

(kind of a turning point-ish for pidge! or showing they're past a turning point!!! showing their apathy growing for what they're doing... they don't really give a shit anymore, not as much. all they want to do is have their mentor stop looking at them like they're going to fail his expectations.

Pidge didn't always start out willing to kill. Someone had to put them in the right direction, the right track. Looking with expectation. And Pidge eventually, they grew tired and apathetic. It is more complicated than that, but long story short: they eventually grew tired of their mentor expecting them to fail, to flail, to not get their hands dirty. But they're not that same 12 year old he took in anymore. So to shut him up, they did their job. Why so surprised? That's what they were meant to do, hm?

It doesn't bother pidge as much as it used to, not like it should. but just shut up. the time is now.

QUESTION TIME

Hello! Hi there, I am alive but just very busy with personal side projects, I just wanted to drop in and ask of something. I am a huge fan and have been pretty active with the VLD fandom (irl mostly, tho) and have wanted to do some rping with them. But as well with that, I have been wanting to work on other things with VLD, consisting of AU’s.

Here is my question, I want to know what is more interesting or who would be more interested in for AU wise with role playing. It has been really fun putting and pulling things together, actually! I’ll put some information on each below the poll!

I'm leaving it for uhhh... a day?? I hope to post some art. Even if I post some only during the weekend (I have my days off then and usually 1 day of the week)

Brief run down

Till the lights go out

Voltron went missing and the Galra retaliated to get their territory back from the Blade of Marmora and Voltron coalition, with the beasts of the experiments Ranvieg took pride in, however things turned in no one's favor as the beasts seemed to corrupt anyone they were to engage with and let live.

Now, without voltron and it's odd absence, the universe is in turmoil and chaos. Slowly dying out the remaining blades and rebel members seek asylum anywhere they can get.

Once Voltron returns, nothing seems to be in its shining state, and hope for a better future.

Heavy focus on the Rebels, Keith, Kolivan, Krolia, Allura, and Hunk.

Various other members, which I won't disclose because...long long

The rift is a breeding ground and the creatures come and go from there.

Lots of grim topics and a quest to find and get to earth as it's widely untouched/undiscovered.

Various side plots so not focused entirely on main but it's there

Royal Blades

Between the alteans and galra, peace and prosperity has continued to grow and allow their own to thrive. Though with this came the conflicts and slowly growing greed from both rulers of their respective planet and peoples.

In the age of Zarkon's reign, it boiled over and caused more conflict than the previous had overseen. It didn't help that the choices between his dear friend and one of his own court made spike more to the fire between their kinds.

And now, with two of his kind piloting the defender they called Voltron, and claims of the Alteans and their own alliences, he is certain their time of peace may be coming to an end.

Zarkon, Alfor, blade of marmora, are at the center but so are those of the Voltron alliance.

Roles changed as well as some characters species of origin (Ex: mer Lance, Olkarion Pidge, Half-breed Allura, e.t.c--

Voltron is made but is split between the galra/alteans

Rift creatures are present and more of a deadly pest due to the rift on a planet the galra empire holds.

Pidge sitting on a sandbar, her “knees” up, she’s like a little island for Lance to just perch himself on so they could enjoy each others’ company in the ocean and talk.  Oh how I missed drawing giant Pidge with her itty bitty boyfriend. So now here we go!

Keith is... hesitant to show Shiro what he looks like in Mer form. It's understandable- the Mer that attacked Shiro was clearly a Galra mer, even though the one who ultimately transformed him and took control of him for so long was an Altean mer. Shiro knows that Keith is part-Mer, since he's been told as much, but his actual memories of his time under Haggar's control are... shaky at best, so he doesn't really remember what Keith actually looks like.

While Shiro is recovering, Keith visits him often. Given his injuries, Allura seemed to think it was best that Shiro stayed in Mer form while recovering, and Keith knows that being confined to his dad's old recovery pool is probably chafing at Shiro. He's not the only one who visits- Allura, Romelle, Lance, Coran, Adam and Hunk all do, and eventually, they get Pidge and Matt to come, helping the latter finally reconcile with Shiro.

The four Altean mer all sometimes join him in the recovery pool- and Keith does too, sometimes, except he always chooses to stay in human form instead. Shiro has a sneaking suspicion as to why, after Lance and Romelle let it slip that Keith is part Galra mer, along with his own hazy recollections of a large purple Mer that looks vaguely like Keith.

Shiro can understand why Keith might be worried (and he'll admit, it's surreal to think that Keith is bigger than him in Mer form), but he wants to make sure he understands that he doesn't think this is a problem. Keith is Keith, no matter what form he takes.

Besides, just think about the prank we could pull on Adam.

Chapter 3: What a surprise

Vaguely he felt off, the warmth he had gone. His mind shifted lightly, feeling as if he was floating in the darkness. A soft hum, and fingers carding through his hair.

He wasn't entirely sure why Shiro was petting his hair, but he was content right now. Soft breaths puffed from him, a sleepy noise too. Warmth returned to him, and he couldn't help the pleased noise. Every breath came out so softly, but he stirred when a chill worked its way through him.

Reaching for his blanket resulted in him coming up empty-handed, his brows pinching. He lazily flops back down, wondering when his bed got this hard.

The floating feeling didn't leave him, and he happily let himself drift away on it. A full night's sleep would be nice. It was only when lean arms wrapped around him that he whined lightly, only to have a hand card through his hair again. He hums, gently falling into the darkness that wraps over his consciousness.

Both mer watch the young human with soft expressions. When Lance look's over at Pidge, they scoff. "Oh shush it. It wasn't my idea to bring a human somewhere they shouldn't be."

Lance's soft laugh was enough for the other to tackle him, unused to wrestling on land, even if it was just a small cave. "I don't think they know how to swim very well." He retorts, shoving her away and gently picking up the human, petting his hair when he whines.

Taking him under towards a set of caves, neither knew that humans could not inhale water. Neither knew that the small bundle breathing calmly should not be able to. But here they were, placing him in a sea-weed hammock, the blue mer watching over him soundlessly while the other scolded him to no end.

Shiro agreed to take care of his uncle’s lakeside house who decided to travel the world for a year. His uncle wrote him to ‘go fishing everyday and make amazing friends’.

Shiro is really questioning his uncle’s sanity as this side of the lake is in the middle of nowhere, nobody lives around and the closest grocery store is miles away on the other side. 

The fashionable little Loch Ness monster and his mom and siblings also live in the lake. Yes it’ a HUGE ASS LAKE.
