also throwing in a large sappy paragraph (slight cw for some discussions of family issues):

being a part of fable smp was such a privilege. when i first joined, it was just me and a couple of my irl blorbos deciding it would be a fun quirky idea to start an smp our own, and now it has become something truly impressive and heartfelt.

specifically from my perspective, playing c!momboo meant a lot to me. she’s similar to me in a lot of ways, obviously she is an extension of me, but i think she’s way more than that. c!momboo was based on another story that means a lot to me: Oneshot. if you’re familiar, her character is extremely influenced by not only the plant woman in act 2, but the world itself that communicates with you throughout the game. the idea of the world itself becoming so vulnerable and weak it becomes sentient really struck me, and I knew immediately that’s what I wanted c!momboo to be. what i didn’t expect was how much of a turn her character made early on, when jamie and swipn approached me half joking about her being their mom within lore. i think that’s what really ended up bringing her to life, and what overall became her main driving force: being a mother.

i’m gonna be kinda vulnerable for a second here: i never thought of exploring motherhood in any story i’ve been a part of, even before fable. the idea always scared me, since I don’t have the best relationship with my own mom, and i thought i would end up doing things wrong. but i think that’s kind of the point. there is no guidebook on how to be a good mom, you have to figure that out yourself, along with help from your kids. c!momboo wasn’t a perfect parent, far from it. she made some pretty intense mistakes, especially early on, and i’ll be the first to admit that playing her through those times was rough. there were moments where i felt i was leaning into the exact parent i would never want to be, and it was scary, but eventually c!momboo learned from those mistakes, making an effort to regain her kids’ trust over time.

c!momboo holds a special place in my heart because of all the things i stated, and while her story is over, i think she’ll always somehow end up in things i create. not by name, but her own courage and strength infused into what i do.

before i wrap this up, i want to mention the one story that really stands out to me from the process of working on fable: when the famous haleygar herself and i the night before the server released were scrambling to help sherbert figure out a title (not only that, but knowing this title would end up being the name of a certain major character later on lol) and eventually settling on Fable, not just because it sounded cool, but because that’s what this server was always meant to be: a story. a story filled with heart and soul poured not just from the cast, but from you guys. i think my favorite part of this project was always seeing what you all created, and how you guys ended up influencing us. our stories wouldn’t have been the same without you guys there, whether that be in chat, or even simply lurking. i’m grateful for all of you who were there, and i really hope you enjoyed the story <3

Fable Racer AU...

• Everyone races each other on an old track for fun.

- sometimes they bet or even settle arguments this way

• Ominous Bane was a very successful demolition derby team.

- They all entered an event and it all went to shit. They were all hospitalised, this is where Easton lost their sight - and as result, their ability to drive.

• Rae started as an engineer and learning as much about racing as possible until he's confident enough to get behind a wheel (in a professional race at least) Watching his mother race was a big inspiration

• Caspians' an engineer and helps Rae fix up a car for him to drive

• Aax is also very car knowledgeable but doesn't race (by choice)

• Ulysses was an excellent racer until he crashed and hasn't gotten behind the wheel since

• Wolf is constantly sponsoring everyone with his buisness

• Athena loves to race but has a hidden talent for derbies

• Ocies' racer career is on pause to raise Oscar.

- Centross will take Oscar for laps around tracks (although he makes sure he's not going too crazy and being safe. He has precious cargo after all)

• Jamie and Easton would build and race cars together, momboo constantly worries

• Will isn't a racer, but more of a classic car person

• You know Seven is the best mechanic around

• I think Soraza would have a company that would sponsor racers. Or have a type of school that would help teach new racers, Arisanna is a teacher there and is loved by every student

• Midas (or 'racer name': Quixis) also has a company that sponsors racers and has been trying to recruit Icarus for years. Icarus doesn't know that Ms an insanely good racer

• I once saw a blind racer go through a very simple track and there would be people telling him through a headpeace, when to break, go etc and he sped down a strip. So I imagine that for Easton, post-blind

• Helmets, cloths and cars are decorated to match their aesthetic, done by Malitae

• Isla got into a terrible reck that put her into a coma. Rae visits her often and tells her about the races he does or ones he knows she likes that have happened

• When Ocie mentioned she used to race, Centross took her out to an old track and let her drive. Seeing how she let loose at the wheel and the way she managed the car, he fell in love right then and there.

• Caspian did a simple street race one time and the police ended up showing up. Unfortunately he got caught. Momboo helped him out on bail

Rae Morningstar and Loneliness: An Analysis

SO something that occurred to me recently is how much being alone effects. well. everyone in Fable(not like everyone everyone but like,a not insignificant amount of people.) Their society is shown to be one of few(if not the only) thriving communities, and lots of people deal with being alone either before they join the cast, or during. Take Ulysses. when he shows up in Fable, he has to grapple with the fact that he is the last of his race. Same with Ari- being one of the last of the Aether. And for characters like Icarus, Caspian, and many many others, they have to deal with being alone before they find a community of people they can be around and trust. One such case is Rae Morningstar.

At the start of the story, Rae is alone. Almost everyone has some form of connection. Icarus, Centross, and Easton have ominous bane. Momboo, Jamie, and Easton are family. Haley already knows Momboo. The only people without any connection are Athena, Will, and Rae. Will's not really around much, and well, Athena had a retconned family so it doesn't really affect his character. (Though i totally do have thoughts about this post retconned Athena and stuff but this is a Rae post). However, by the end of the series, Rae is deeply embedded in the community. He was alone once. and he tries his hardest never to be again.

Rae's lowest moments are when he's alone. In season 1, when Enderian makes him that offer, he probably wouldve taken it in a heartbeat, if not for the fact that if he did, he would be Alone. (and also that he might be used against his friends) In s2 when he finds out he and Icarus are brothers, he is so desperate to hold on to that relationship. I think its why he's so desperate to keep that connection. He doesnt want to lose his brother again. Also the beginning of S2 IS SO bad for him. All of his friends, his family all gone. he's alone yet surrounded by the people he knows. He mentions how bad it wouldve been if not for Ocie- the one person who can relate to him. Someone that stops him from being completely alone. Then theres the sculk arc, which, do I even have to explain? In s3 , Rae gets mad at Centross. A big reason is because Centross left him alone. And when Icarus starts to isolate, later on, what does Rae say, in concern "I just don't want them to be alone." Rae was alone before. so now he tries to make sure that no one else in the community is. For example, he reaches out to everyone. He's always the one people go to for help, so that when they need it they won't be alone. See where Im going with this?

Another thing. Each and every time Rae met one of his partners? Bot him and the partner have been alone. Take Caspian- I mean Cas was alone in the prison, he was isolated. And Rae had been banned from seeing Jamie and Athena was being kept away. The two people he was closest too at the time had left him- even if it wasn't their own choice. When he met Aax, everyone he knew and loved had forgotten him. And Aax had been sitting alone in a cave. Waiting for Theo to return. Even when they first met, Aax was alone, being the only one to escape from the Telchins, and Rae was trapped in a home where he had no one to turn to. When he met Fenris, ,he was alone, having run from his home to keep people safe. And Fenris was alone after being turned into a wolf who couldnt even talk to other animals. for possibly centuries.

Even in smaller things, he doesn't want to be alone, like when he learns Centross and Fenris forgave Ven. He doesn't know how to deal with that anger, now that he's alone in it. He gets tatoos so that he wont forget these people, so he'll never be alone. And at the end of hist story? He and his family turn into gods. He'll never be alone, not even in death.

Anyway i just had some thoughts. if you noticed any inaccuries/have any points to add/ disagree with any of my points please reblog! i want to see waht other people think. Also i might make a follow up on how loneliness affects other characters, this really got me thinking

I’ve been having thoughts about parallels and I want to talk about them.

In Season 1, we know Enderian didn’t talk to Icarus. Mostly because they’re Fable’s child. And she didn’t ever really talk to them directly.

While now, in Season 3, Fable talks to them. He wants them to talk to him. He doesn’t want them to talk to anyone who disagrees with what he’s doing.

And yet, they both had the same goal. Both Enderian and Fable wanted and wants Icarus to feel alone. They both wanted Icarus to feel isolated, like they aren’t good enough. To push them to do terrible things to get that validation they crave.

And it’s working.

Icarus blew basically everything up in Season 1, also killing Haley, to try get Enderian to talk to them. To get her to tell them what she wanted. And now, Icarus has killed Momboo and Jamie, and blame themselves for Centross’ death. All because they want Fable to give them validation, not to mention that he does. He validates them when they do something ‘right’. He gives them that attention.

I just think it’s really neat and I wanted to ramble about it.

It's hit me now that Fable Smp is ended, and now I'm gonna get sappy.

I've been watching FSMP since about the middle of s2 but honestly it has been the best thing. It was something I could look forward to during the summer when I had nothing to do, and after school if I've had a hard day or just need something to bring me up.

Getting to binge watch this show while petsitting for my aunt, sitting in the couch watching Rae and Momboo go at it, or OB vs AB fights. While trauma, was a fun time.

I've met some of my favorite people through this server, some honorable mentions being @cosmicthestar and @starlightlovesspace My best friends and one of them being my husband /p, I would rant to these two for hours.

The art we've done together, asking each other for input on things, always made me so happy.

I've gotten through quite a few hard times and always turn to this server for comfort.

This has inspired and helped me so much when working on my own SMPs, writing, art, ect. I just wanna say thank you so much to the Fable cast for giving me this opportunity.

i remembered rae almost told icarus that centross is a god rea is slowly looking more like epros and he was called void prince (shout out to the random tumblr post that pointed that out) now for my brain to add to it rea is and always has been the prince of the end after all his mother was the queen. but since enderian is gone. rae is now technically the king of the end... all icarus has is two dead kingdoms (that's a skill issue if you ask me)

rea got lucky he had his signal reader on him or icarus would've known of it did i mentioned how much i love the tail last time? cause i love it. it's great. and just so nice and aaaaaaaaa

with the brothers being absolute dust i worry for both of them. icarus doesn't care about any deaths cause he thinks it's gonna all be "fixed"

the only way my brain can think of to "fix" anything would be a reset cause technically momboo would be back then. since kai has died before (i think)

i think rea may become a god or like demigod-ish. cause end things. but also then wolf would have three protective god boyfriends all having ties to the end.

I have thoughts about magic in my "Wait for me" series, first shameless promotion, here's the link, I think you should read it

But this is set in a world with a lot of magic with a lot of different ways the magic shows itself. There's a lot of different ways that this magic is talked about (bc I'm really good at worldbuilding and not bc I just sometimes forget how I've referred to someone before /sar).

The main ways to refer to a magic user are witch and mage. For most forms of magic these terms can be used interchangeably but some forms of magic are more likely to use mage then witch and vise versa just bc of how the connotations. Fire witch is the exact same as fire mage but fire mage is used more. Nature witch is the exact same as nature mage but nature witch is used more. Necromancers are usually called necromancers but can also be referred to as death witches, they don't get the title death mage as often.

(I'm aware that technically witch and mage mean different things but I've chosen to ignore that /lh)

I think that most people in the "Wait for me" universe have some form of magic, however it's much more rare of that magic to be strong enough to be classified as one thing. There's also places where different forms of magic overlap or, sometimes in the case of nature witch/life witch, could mean the same thing.

Fire mages (Athena, Netherum) can usually control fire and heat and can't be burned, but the strength of their control depends on how much magic they have. However, there might be fire mages who can control lightning or lava or someone's body heat.

Nature witches (Momboo, kind of Jamie) can usually control plants, most often affecting how quickly they grow. But there are examples of more powerful nature witches like Momboo who can actually make plants do stuff other then just grow, she can manipulate/change them to fit her need. If a nature witch can make plants die or bring plants back after they've died then they could also be called a life witch.

Blood witches can manipulate their own bodies to shape shifting (Fenris to a wolf and Namir to a ravanger). They also have control over their own blood to the extent that they can stop themselves from bleeding out. Some may be able to control other's blood flow. The kind of animals that a blood witch can shape shift into is based on who they were raised around bc children will mimic their parents. Fenris could, theoretically turn into an animal that isn't a wolf, but his family always turned into wolves so that's what he learned to do without injuring himself.

Light mages/witches (Arisanna, Fable) can control/create light. Most often this is just harmless firefly-like sparks, flashes of light, or steadier light mimic torches/lanterns. But powerful light mages (or light mages in life or death situations) can also transform light into heat and create an explosion bc of that.

I already made a longer post about necromancers so I won't talk about them here. I've mentioned water mages a few times (Ocie, Aax, Vorago) and I think their power works a lot like waterbenders with the addition of water breathing. Ocie and Vorago are able to control a lot more water then Aax who can really only affect the water around him.

I know that I mentioned others forms of magic like Enderian's mind magic, Perix's magic with the sculk, and Casus' luck magic. I haven't put a lot of thought into how their magic works. There's also a thousand other ways that magic could manifest, just bc I don't talk about it here doesn't mean it isn't possible.

I don't think that there's a type of magic that is more common then others. Of course necromancy is pretty much unheard of due to all necromancers being hunted down and killed. Most people with magic don't have strong enough magic for it to be labeled as fire magic or nature magic or water magic. It is easier to find people who are fire, water, nature, and light mages/witches (and other types of magic) because there's less stigma surrounding them and they don't feel the need to hide their magic like necromancers or blood witches might.

but anyways, I think that's it, and I hope this makes sense!

The way, after mentioning Centross calling them a failure, Icarus starts rubbing over their scar. "It's the one thing that's always been true." And to them, it so so is, isn't it. Their failures left a permanent mark on *them* - the scar, something to really cement the statement as *true* - and on the world itself, momboo and ocie wouldn't exist without them, huh? (Momboo wouldn't be *dying* without them-) and maybe there's something to be said about that. They can't even die right.

Fable- sir what are your intentions

Fable is so confusing and i do not undertstand that man. things he says dont line up (saying that taking out the shards from Rae could kill him, but later mentioning that they would have to do that, whole 'who cursed Isla' thing, blaming Enderian for literally everything) but he's also being weirdly nice to Rae right now. comforting him, letting him actually speak up, listening to what he has to say. he still feels somewhat manipulative though. we know Fable has done bad stuff before, obviously he isnt totally innocent because of not knowing stuff, there are still inconsistencies. with the recent lore, he has acted very impusively with some stuff, and he said that he was too focused on being worried about Icarus, he nearly lost Rae. after that immidiately claiming that he is Rae's father.. my man i think that is a lil bit too soon- he totally ignored Rae's mental health, caring too much about Icarus, if he cared for Rae as much as he claims to, he wouldnt ignore that, i think at least. he also claimed the town peeps were his family, which is also a very quick decision, he hasnt even interacted with many of them more than once. he has done some good stuff tho, looking for Arisanna, helping Momboo, stopping Quixis (in Unlocked), comforting Rae, helping with the raid on town. he might be a bit paranoid like Ocie said, but that man is still sus, im so confused what his intentions are right now. depends how he talks to Icarus next time, its gonna be a bit more clear what he wants to do ..i go back to the void now :] actually i just remembered, Ari has said before that she doesnt really like Fable, and that she doesnt remember him very well, which is another sus thing about him ..now i go into the void

You know what, I like you, let me share my headcannons/thoughts on an AU I recently mentioned...

Fable smp Coffee Shop AU...

• Sherb runs a 24/hr (or late opened) Cafe, The Alchemist Brew. They specialise is mixing different coffee flavours to create a new taste and can even create one for a persons specific need or even mood.

The people that have often come in say it was exactly what they needed; students coming in to study found they work best with Icarus' creations - jokes that they put a focusing chemical drug in it. People on first dates say they added an ingredient that was a big ice breaker for them to bond over. A few cases come in home sick and the drinks taste like home somehow.

• Rae runs another cafe in a different part of town. It's a more traditional place, more old fashioned, rustic aesthetic.

Rae got to take over this place a lot sooner than he thought.

His mother went missing when he was young and his step-dad, Fable, left a few years ago. Icarus' was supposed to take over the buisness but they wanted to do their own thing, especially since Rae and Icarus had different ideas on how they should run the place.

So Rae runs the Gilded Cafe. While keeping the more traditional things on the menu, Rae also explores the history with Coffee. Makes ones how they would make it 30, 50, 100 years ago and happily, shares it with their customers.

• Athena is learning how to open their own bakery (Flour Garden) with Jamie. They offer their goods as a trial to both Gilded and Alchemist Brew Cafe. This way they get to try new foods and have people taste test them and both Cafes get a unique item on their menus each week. The feedback from customers is always appreciated and it sparks new ideas for foods and types of foods.

• Momboo runs a flower and tea shop, The Pink Tulip, both as a seperate transaction but has a talent for getting sweet tastes out of nature's prettiest petals

• Which is a dramatic comparison to her sister, Ocie/Kai, who runs a bar, Sea Dragon, iconicly known for its underwater sailor/pirate aesthetic and strong drinks to match

• Wolf is a business analyst and has helped with the businesses as well as a few others around town

• His partner, Centross, helps manage the Sea Dragon. A couple years ago, he tried to start a buisness with Icarus and Easton (who is a real estate agent), but it crashed and burned real quick. Wolf talked to Kai and she was generous enough to help Centross get back on his feet and they ended up working really well together.

• Aax works in the Gilded Cafe with Rae. He came to Rae looking for work - one in a new town with no connection to the Telchin company. They were awful, treated their employees terribly, and they would use special artificial chemicals in their drinks to make it taste like flavours (Hazlenut, vanilla etc), never the real thing, even their machines were designed to cut corners with brewing.

• Ulysses is still with Telchin, casual, but is still in the town with his Partner. He used to be able to do beautiful coffee powder art, but since the accident in the shop he can't even hold a cup steady.

• Will runs little a Cafe - The Traveller - based on flavours around the world, some places he's been lucky to actually travel to. Seven helps him run the place and really good with machines so they never have to worry about things breaking.

• Now all these businesses have their challenges, but Icarus feels they have an extra one...

A night club across the street 2 doors down, "The World Port". It's an exclusive place and Icarus had heard a few things about it.

It's a jack of all trades types of place, has accommodation for any events, Bachelor party's, birthdays, buisness meetings, heck even wakes.

Icarus' problem is that - for some reason - the owner recommendeds The Alchemist Brew to their customers as a place to sober up. Which would be fine if that didn't mean nights of drunks coming in, making a mess and passing out. They somehow get their mail mixed up as well, and The World Port is loud and makes it hard to focus on work.

• The World Ports concept is to be a place for everyone. It's main area is a bar with a dance floor and great music. They have sectioned off rooms, identified by colour, each room can accommodate for certain events. You could hold 3 different events in once.

• Smaller Headcannons/Notes:

• Caspian comes into the Gilded Cafe as a place to write his stories. He started going there for the nice coffee and cozy vibes, but the manager seems really nice and passionate about his work, so he kept coming in and is now a regular. And the Barista working there is cute nice to talk to as well

• Rae grew to appreciate the small talks with Capsian while on shift. He's even made it into a few pages of Raes sketch book - that will never see the light of day - but that has nothing to do with anything! Rae always draws random customers for practice! Despite Aax pointing out that he draws Caspian more.

• Aax and Rae are dating and are peeking interest in Caspian.

• Wolf and Centross are dating, though Centross is showing interest in Kai. He would deny it to hell and back even though everyone can see it.

• Icarus gets new ingredients/inspiration from their friends. Athena and Jamie's creations, Momboos flowers etc

• During the business Icarus, Centross and Easton tried to run, Icarus made a purple drink that turned out to have an addicting side effect. Part of the reason thee business failed.

• Since the World Port is exclusive, Icarus can't get in to talk to the owner. However, there have been times when they've come into the Alchemist Brew, and Icarus has just not been in there at the right time to see them.

• If they don't want to deal with maintenance companies, the other owners ask Seven to come over and fix their equipment, especially if it should be a simple fix.

• Galahad works at The Traveller and suggested their own mix of a spicier blend
