Open Starter
((Scarlett is captured by the TVA. Any relationship))
((pls interact with this I worked hard on it :( my starters never get any attention :(())
Tumblr media
Being the daughter of Loki and Justice Myth, Scarlett Myth-Lokisdottir was bound to become a target of the Time Variance Authority sooner, rather than later. It seemed like they really said 'fuck you, in particular' to her father.
My Family Can Never Have Nice Things.
Is what the blue-eyed brunette had mused to herself as she was grabbed by an arm for each 'guard' (the term she had heard used was minutemen) and roughly manhandled through a glowing gold and orange door with a restricting time collar fastened tightly around her neck, then dragged before a judge who seemed to think far too highly of herself and sentenced to 'be reset as soon as possible'; until some sort of analyst had talked her out of it, saying that she could be useful somehow. The 15 year old had huffed. Of course, why would anyone else want the daughter of Loki around? However, she had been glad not to have to endure whatever resetting was, so she would have to thank the man when she wasn't thinking how she could turn this place on its' self-important head.
Which brings us to now, where she was seated in some kind of time theatre watching a reel of her entire life play out. How it started, how it would end...with a spear through her chest, rushing to try to stop Thanos' from strangling her father.
But hey....time wasn't linear, right?
Huff.
"...Glorious purpose."

Letters
Amy had been getting a lot of mail, recently.
But- more surprisingly- was who it was addressed from...
The blue blur had been away on an adventure for quite some time now- leaving her behind as he raced off to go save the world again with tails- and she'd been pretty lonely as a result. Not even the metal menace she'd occasionally found solace in was anywhere around, and her normal, everyday life just wasn't exciting anymore...
But then- she had gotten a letter- from the blue blur himself. It was written in heroically neat handwriting- something she honestly hadn't expected out of the boy who couldn't give her the time of day- and contained tales of the adventures they'd been on!
It was worded a little oddly, though she assumes that was because it was thrown together- and had a drawing attached of her. It was scribbly, but detailed- and seemingly required a decent amount of effort... She had smiled giddily, and quickly pinned the letter to her board- and she wouldn't have to wait very long for another...
Each day after that, she would receive a new delivery in the mail. First, it was simply letters and doodles- stories and tales from beyond the reaches of civilized Mobius- of the doctor, of bickering with the enemy-
Then, it turned to packages and gifts- souvenirs from the far away lands they had visited- even a plushie, which she cherished by her side each night.
By the time Sonic was due to return the next day, she couldn't be more excited- even moreso when she had received a final letter in the mail.
...But when Sonic finally did return...
He pretended to not know what she meant, when she mentioned the letters. He acted as if she were crazy- and while he claimed to have missed her, he said he... wasn't the type to write back home. His home was on the run, after all.
...She was devastated. Had he really spent all that time, leading her on? Had he really kept her hopes up for months, just to crush them when he finally returned?
She had no way to react but to turn and run- leaving a confused Sonic behind her.
The forest. Its comforting isolation now felt like a stifling loneliness, as she cried against a tall oak. Her internal solemnity however was interrupted, by the soft clinking of metal joints...
"...Not now, Metal. I'm not in the mood to get c-captured."
...Oddly, this protest worked, and Metal paused- dropping down into a seat next to Amy. She felt the urge to, and so she leaned her head against his- causing the bot to jolt slightly...
"...What is wrong, Miss Rose?"
She sniffles a little- using Metal for support...
"I-I... S-Sonic- he..."
Metal seemed to stiffen with anger-
"What did that pincushion do."
"...He led me on."
...Confusion. "Elaborate."
"H-He was sending me... letters while he was away... and h-he came back acting like he didn't- acting like he hadn't... missed me like he said he had..."
She feels Metal shift in confusion, before freezing.
"Letters...?"
"...Amy Rose."
"...yeah...?"
"Those letters were not sent by the organic Sonic the Hedgehog."
"W-What?"
"Those were sent by... me."
“…Y-You what?”
”I wrote those letters. I was observing your compatriots as they travelled, and I wrote back what they accomplished.”
…That explains the odd wording…
“…B-But then- the bits about… m-missing me- and the doodles-“
”Also, me. I would like to believe my artistic capabilities have improved, ever since the Doctor installed those new processo-“
“What a-about the first part.”
”…”
Metal goes quiet, his head turning to the side.
”…I did… ‘miss you’. I simply could not return until I was ordered to.”
Amy’s cheeks feel warm, and her eyes glisten. She turns her head away- the two sitting together in an awkward silence for a moment… before she feels something pressing against her arm. She sniffles, and turns back to Metal- who’s pressing a letter softly into her shoulder.
”I must depart. But here. I was not able to send this one to you before my return.”
Once she takes the neat envelope into her hands, Metal stands- his turbine revving as he flies off into the night.
The paper crinkles as she opens it, unfolding the message inside- now with the full context of who this was really from- and her eyes widen, hand faltering slightly. It’s written in that same, neat handwriting-
TO MY DEAREST AMY ROSE, WHOM WHICH I WILL SHORTLY BE SEEING. I HOPE YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TOO LONELY IN MY ABSENCE. I KNOW IT HAS LIKELY BEEN DIFFICULT, BEING ON YOUR OWN FOR SO LONG. BUT WORRY NOT- I WILL BE RETURNING POSTHASTE- AND WHEN I DO RETURN, I HOPE TO SEE A SMILE UPON YOUR FACE. BUT, IF THERE IS NOT ONE, I WILL BE GLAD TO HELP PUT IT BACK. LOVE, S.
A pressed yellow and red flower is taped to the paper.
Amy lay awake on the soft covers, staring at the ceiling- a swirling mix of giddiness and confusion dousing her mind and forcing her awake- as if she could sleep, after that…
On one hand… the confirmation that Sonic hadn’t been the one to care so deeply as to keep her company from afar, was saddening slightly- especially after all the times she had chased after him, and aided him on his adventures- but…
On the other hand, the one who had truly sent them… was Metal. Metal, a cold, ‘unfeeling’ robot- had been more attentive to her need for socialization than the hero himself.
And her mind wandered to the letter again- calling her ‘dearest’, the formal yet cute promise at the end, and… marked as ‘love.’ Not Salutations, or some other closing word- love.
Was that what the robot intended? Could he even feel love? She had seen him stare upon the stars with fascination even as he afterward proclaimed otherwise- she had watched him from a distance as he nurtured a wounded forest creature back to health- watched the guilt in his cold, projected eyes as he watched the trees turn to cinder and ash around him…
Did he really… and did she… love him back?
…Her internal solemnity is interrupted by a soft rumble outside her window- and the click of it opening. Her tired yet sparkling eyes drift to the side- to see her forbidden friend of steel balancing on the windowsill.
”I see you are awake.”
He speaks softer than usual, his mechanical voice a lower tone. She nods- and he takes that as reason to continue- ”…I have something to show you, Miss Rose.”
Her curiosity piqued, even at this time of night- she gracefully slides off the bed, and, carefully as not to wake the sleeping heroes in the other room, paces over to Metal- who gingerly takes her hand in his, before promptly swinging her into his arms-
Her face raises up a soft heat, and the robot stares down at her- had it a mouth, it would be smug.
”Allow me.”
The robot then hops off the windowsill- soaring into the night- leaving behind Amy’s room…
And a tired fox boy, who had just peeked unnoticed through the door- unaware of the context of the moment.
Soaring gently into the quiet night, Amy tucks herself close to the latent warmth of Metal’s engine- any chill in the air negated by the heat he radiates around him as he cuts through the air- his sturdy steel arms wrapped gently against her, just enough to keep her secure, but not too tight as to wound her. They’d been in this situation enough times to be used to the positions and sensations, but tonight somehow felt… different. There was an erratic electricity in the air, though not like that of the surging life that coursed through Metal’s wired veins. Rather, it was a soft static- like the frizzing buzz left remainder after a walk on a woolen carpet, one that could stick a balloon to the wall or make your heart race just the ever bit faster.
The two were caught in the moment- the rest of the world could not detract from it. Not the stars hanging in the ever vast skies, not the moon glimmering in full with its pale illumination- not the rustling of creatures of the night or leaves in the gentle breeze… and not the quiet whizzing of a natural propellor far distant behind them.
After quite the journey, where no words were spoken yet infinite were shared- Metal lands, in a beautiful, crystalline cove off the side of one of the towering mountains of Mobius’s natural topography- multicolored stones shimmering in the moonlight and illuminating the cavern floor to look like pastels on a canvas.
He gently lets Amy go- and, as if desperate to remain close- she simply shifts to cling to his side, as the two coordinately plop down upon the stony floor- the shimmering lights glistening not near as much as the starstruck expression on Amy’s face.
”This is… the place I come to think. Signals cannot be transmitted properly here- the crystals contain a frequency that disrupts them…”
”A place where I can be truly alone. I have not told another soul nor robot of its existence.”
And yet, here she was with him- in his place of solemnity, clutched to his side like her life would end should she let go. His steeled arm wraps gently around her in turn, and the two sit, staring up at the skies.
“…Why…? Why bring me here, then…?”
Metal pauses, as if choosing his words- but then seems to relax- deciding that careful wordage is no longer a requirement.
”This place has never failed to offset my worries. Seeing as you were not… joyous, before- I sought to uphold my written promise to fix that.”
…She turns to him, and he turns to her. His eyes avoid meeting hers, and he whispers uncharacteristically.
”…and… I wish to share all the momentary happinesses I experience with you, to repay you for causing the most of mine.”
“…”
No further words are said, as their eyes meet, and the two gently shift to lean against eachother- ever content in the brightened night.
…From afar, Tails watches the display- a guilt in his chest from overhearing such a personal conversation- but unlimited confusion overtaking his everywhere else….
The contentedness of the two still bubbling within them, there they sit- resting quietly in each other's silent company.
As the night begins to draw to a close- and dashes of vibrant sunshine threaten the horizon- Metal would stir Amy from her sleep against him.
"...Amy Rose. It is almost daylight. I should return you home..."
Amy, admittedly, didn't want this to end- especially so quickly- but she supposes she can't exactly stay here forever... so she sighs, and stands- stretching as Metal whirrs to his feet next to her. He promptly lifts her up once more- and begins flying back through the closing night.
By the time he had returned to her windowsill- she was once again fast asleep in his arms. He took a short moment to watch the gentle rise and fall of her chest, and to brush some quills out of her face which had fallen aside in the flight- his steelen claws ever gentle in doing so. He carefully laid her down upon her bed- pulling the covers over her, and turning to leave.
However... as he steps out from the window- he's met with another, standing across from him on the roof.
"You've got five seconds to explain yourself, or I've got an EMP in the basement waiting to go off."
...Metal stares coldly at Tails- taking his threat with complete levity.
"...What do I need to explain."
Tails gestures wildly with his arms-
"What was THAT? What were you two even doing? Where did you go?"
"...None of your business."
"It is my business. She's my friend, and you aren't."
"You know not of my relationship with Miss Rose."
"Really now? Then what do you share with her? Mutual hatred? A penchant for kidnapping?"
"..."
Metal turns away from Tails, slowly taking off-
"I love her."
And in a flash- he's gone, into the night.

Mobius M. Mobius||A-Z Smut||
Tumblr media
Before I say anything, this is 18+ Only! Minors do NOT interact.
Notes: Okay So I haven't written and posted it in a while, so apologies if this isn't that good! There needs to be more Mobius fics on here and I haven't seen anyone do the A-Z smut list yet, so here it is! If there’s any spelling mistakes, I apologize!
Reader is gender neutral
This was written before episode 3 came out, so if it’s OOC later on, sorry.
A = Aftercare (What they're like after sex)
Mobius is the biggest softie after sex. He likes to make sure you’re feeling okay and comfortable before anything else. He gets you anything you need (whether that be water, drawing a bath, or anything else) before pulling you close to his chest. He’ll cover the two of you up with a blanket and the two of you will fall asleep tangled up in each other's arms.
B = Body Part (Their favorite body part of theirs and also their partners)
-For You, he really likes your lips. He likes the way they look when you smile and laugh at his dumb jokes.
He also likes to see them wrapped around his cock when you’re sucking him off.
-For himself, he doesn’t really have a favorite part. If he had to choose, he’d say his hands/arms.
C = Cum (Anything to do with cum, basically)
Mobius loves to finish inside of you. He’ll cum deep inside of you and keep himself there for a bit. He likes when you cockwarm him while filled with his cum.
Although, he’s not opposed to finishing anywhere else on you.
D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self-explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
This man has the BIGGEST Daddy kink. The first time you called him Daddy, he almost came right then and there.
E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?)
He’s pretty experienced and definitely knows what he’s doing. Enough said.
F = Favorite Position (This goes without saying)
Any position he can see your face. He likes to see all the pretty little faces you make when he fucks you. He especially loves when you ride him, your arms wrapped around his neck and fingers tangled into his hair.
G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment? Are they humorous? etc.)
Oh yeah, he’s really goofy. He loves cracking jokes and making you giggle when he fucks you. He thinks you look absolutely adorable like that.
He can be serious occasionally, but his go to mood is to be a giant goofball.
H = Hair (How well-groomed are they? Does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
He keeps himself pretty well groomed down there. Not super neat, but definitely not messy.
I = Intimacy (How are they during the moment? The romantic aspect.)
Like mentioned above with G, he's really goofy most of the time.
But, he can have his serious moments. There are days where he’s really romantic, holding you close and kissing all over your face while telling you how much he loves you.
J = Jack off (Masturbation Headcanon)
He’ll jack off if he has to or hasn't seen you in a while, but he will always prefer to be with you.
K = Kink (One or more of their kinks)
There's a lot I can think of, so I'm gonna list them out.
-Daddy Kink
-Breeding
-Cockwarming
-Praise
-Light Degradation
-Pet names(Kitty, Kitten, Bunny, Puppy, Little one, Good Boy/Girl, Baby Boy/Girl, etc.)
-Light bondage
-Edging
-Overstimulation
L = Location (Favorite places to do the do)
Preferably, he would rather be in either yours or his bedroom. But he isn't opposed to other places, such as on the couch, against the wall, maybe even in a small closet at the TVA when you’re both supposed to be working.
M = Motivation (What turns them on, gets them going)
Hearing the noises you make and hearing you beg.
Mobius loves to hear the desperate whines and moans that leave your lips while he teases and fucks you. It’s the number 1 thing that gets him going.
N = No (Something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
He doesn't want to hurt you too badly. He’ll spank you, lightly smack your thighs, and maybe choke you lightly if you want him to, but he refuses to smack your face.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Listen. This man is SO good at giving oral. Mobius could spend hours between your legs using his mouth and tongue to make you cum over and over again.
He obviously doesn't mind receiving, but he likes pleasuring you more than anything.
P = Pace (Are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
A bit of an in between. He’s not super gentle, but he’s also not leaving-bruises-on-your-thighs-and-hips-from-gripping-you-so-hard kinda rough.
Q = Quickie (Their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
They aren't his favorite, but if the two of you are horny and don’t have a lot of time, he’ll do it. Preferably, he likes to take his sweet time with you.
R = Risk (Are they game to experiment? Do they take risks? etc.)
He’s willing to try almost anything once. If you wanna try something new, he’s usually up for it.
S = Stamina (How many rounds can they go for? How long do they last?)
He can go for a few rounds, but nothing too crazy.
T = Toys (Do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?)
He’s got a few things he likes to use on you (vibes, rope/handcuffs to keep you attached to the bed, butt plugs if you’re into that.), but he usually doesn’t use them too often unless the two of you have a few hours to yourselves.
He also likes the idea of having a remote control vibe to tease you in the office, but he hasn't done that yet.
U = Unfair (How much they like to tease)
Mobius is a bit of a tease. He likes to edge you and have you begging for him.
Example:
“C’mon, baby, let me hear you beg for me. Ah ah ah, I know you can do better than that.”
V = Volume (How loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
He’s not too loud. A bit of moaning, lots of grunting, and sometimes a little bit of growling when he’s feeling rougher.
W = Wild Card (A random headcanon for the character)
He loves to be praised. He loves to have his partner praise him and tell him how good he makes them feel.
X = X-ray (Let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
He’s not too long, but he’s decently thick.
Y = Yearning (How high is their sex drive?)
Pretty high. He’s almost always down to fuck when you are. If you come to him horny, he’ll be more than happy to help you.
Z = Zzz (How quickly they fall asleep afterward)
He can fall asleep pretty quickly, but he wants to make sure you fall asleep before he does. Once you’re asleep, curled up in his arms against his chest, he’s ready to fall asleep with you.

Making Time
Mobius M Mobius x Reader
Part 2
My Masterlist
Tumblr media
“1985, huh?” You say, looking up from the briefing Mobius has just handed you.
“Yeah, maybe we’ll spot a delorian?” He jokes, making a Back to the Future reference. You smile at him, remembering when you’d first mentioned the movie. You hadn’t been at the TVA long, to your knowledge.
You’re sat in one of the cafes, explaining something about the timeline to Casey, and you make an offhand reference to the movie. To which, Casey looks even more confused. You glance at Mobius, who’s been sat next to you, watching your teaching with a smile. You offer them both a small smile, at yet another reminder that you’re from somewhere very different from the rest of them.
“Neither of you have seen it have you?” Mobius shakes his head.
“Not a lot of chances for watching movies when dealing with the timeline. Should we get the chance, I’d love to.” It’s a few days later when you give him the chance.
“Honey, I’m home.” You hear Mobius call out, which brings a smile to your face. Whilst you had your own apartment, you much preferred staying with Mobius, like you did when you first arrived at the TVA. You hear him set down a pile of papers in the kitchen, before making his way into the lounge where you’re sat waiting for him. “Hey.”
“Hi.”
“What’s all this?”
“Back to the Future. I went through my file, and managed to find a version that I watched that was uninterrupted. Then I isolated it, and copied it onto one of those cassette reel things, so that it’ll play on your mini projector.” You pause, before adding, “I probably put too much effort into this but, I thought we could have what my time considers a movie night?”
“A movie night?” Your face falls slightly, feeling embarrassed by your suggestion.
“We don’t have to-“ you start. He shrugs off his jacket and settles down next to you.
“Did I not tell you I wanted to watch it, should I get the chance?”
“Well, yeah.” He gestures to the projector.
“Let’s get this show on a roll.” You grin at him, before quickly pressing play on the projector. Mobius leans an arm on the couch and pulls you to his side. “You finally have clearance to access to your file, and you use it to watch Back to the Future?”
“What else was I supposed to do with it?” You joke.
You and Mobius head to the cubicle where you left Loki this morning. You spot him wapping against the desk with a magazine.
“Training going well?” You ask him. He leans back in his chair, attempting to look casual.
“Yeah.”
“Is that my jet ski magazine?” Mobius asks him. “Put it down. Gear up. There's been an attack. Let's go.” He hands Loki the jacket he’s been carrying. You set the briefing down on the desk, and follow Mobius. Loki trails behind you. “Put it on.” Loki shrugs the jacket on, adjusting the collar before posing.
“Nice.” You tell him with a smile.
“Good. Yeah, smart.” Mobius says distractedly. You soon reach the Timedoors, where a small group of hunters have gathered to wait. B-15 opens up the briefing.
“C-20 and her team went dark shortly after they jumped into the 1985 branch. All signs point to another ambush. We've grabbed enough temporal aura to know it's our Loki Variant. But which kind of Loki, remains unknown.”
“They're the lesser kind, to be clear.” Loki specifies. B-15 sighs,
“Let me see the back of that jacket.” Loki does a small turn, showing the group the back of his jacket, where the bright orange letters reading VARIANT stand out. Everyone is the group shares a small smile. You’re glad you don’t have to wear one of those anymore.
“Very subtle. Well done.”
“I don't want anybody out there to forget what you are.”
“Oh, your only hope of capturing a murderer?”
“No. A cosmic mistake.”
“That's enough.” Mobius interrupts.
“Lovely.” You hear Loki murmur.
“Here's the deal.” Mobius begins. “When we get out on the branch, we're not just looking for a Time Criminal. We're looking for a Loki. A variation of this guy. A type we should all be very familiar with, because the TVA has pruned a lotta these guys, almost more than any other Variant.” He skims through a few of the Loki Variants that the TVA have caught before. “And no two are alike. Slight differences in appearances, or not so slight. Different powers, although, powers generally include: shapeshifting, illusion projection, and my favourite-”
“Duplication casting.” Loki interrupts
“Illusion projection.”
“No, they're two completely different powers.”
“How?” You ask him.
“Illusion-projection involves depicting a detailed image from outside oneself, which is perceptible in the external world, whereas duplication-casting entails recreating an exact facsimile of one's own body in its present circumstance, which acts as a true holographic mirror of its molecular structure. But you already knew that.” He explains. You catch a glimpse of Mobius’s smirk before he says,
“Okay, take a breath. Noted. We're gonna break into two teams, including myself and Professor Loki.”
“Why?” A hunter stood beside you asks.
“Because whoever this Variant is, we haven't been able to find him. So let's bring in an expert.” Loki looks around at the group before adding a quiet,
“That's me.”
As the hunters prepare themselves, you hear Loki ask, “Do I get a weapon?” You laugh lightly,
“No chance.”
“Well, I'll have my magic back. Is no one concerned about that?”
“Of what?” Mobius asks.
“Me betraying you.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“You know that we’ll just catch you again.” You tell him.
“And how's betraying us gonna get you any closer to the Time-Keepers?” Mobius adds. Loki leans forward, his attention fixed on Mobius.
“An audience with the Time-Keepers is on the table?”
“Keep that focus.” Mobius tells him. The three of you follow the hunters through the Timedoor, and out into 1985 Wisconsin. Your group makes their way through the crowd of the Renaissance fair before entering a large tent. It’s dark inside, with only a few lanterns to light your path. You watch as B-15 bends down to grasp examine a helmet left abandoned on the floor.
“So he's taking hostages now?” She says, turning to Mobius.
“The Variant's never taken a hostage before.”
“Maybe he's upping his game.”
“Or he pruned her.” One of the hunters remarks, you frown at his callousness towards his colleague.
“A Loki couldn't have gotten the jump on C-20.”
“I think you underestimate, actually...” Loki begins.
“Fan out and search for her. And hurry up, we're at three units until red line.” B-15 orders. Mobius sets a hand on your arm, and the two of you head to the exit.
“Come on.” He says to Loki.
“Wait. If you leave this tent, you'll end up like them.” Mobius stops beside Loki.
“What do you see?”
“I see a scheme, and in that scheme, I see myself.” Loki begins to ramble about an old Asgardian saying.
“Two units. He is wasting our time.” B-15 interrupts.
“Okay. Come on, Loki, make a long story short.” Mobius encourages.
“We need to look for C-20.”
“That's exactly what the Variant wants you to do. It's a trap. He's waiting for you outside this tent.”
“Should I secure the reset charges?”
“No. He wants me. I'm the key to his plan. He knows that I'm stronger. And he rightly believes that together we can overthrow and rule the TVA. But that's not what I want. I have a new purpose. I'm a servant of the Sacred Timeline. And knowing what I now know about his tactics, I can deliver you the Variant, but I need assurances.” He says, looking to Mobius. You glance up at Mobius, frowning slightly. Surely he isn’t believing what Loki’s saying? His eyes catch yours and there’s a small twinkle in them. You hide your smile. Loki circles around Mobius.
“Yeah?” Mobius offers.
“Assurances that I won't be completely disintegrated the moment the job has been done.”
“Right.” Loki leans forward, before whispering,
“We'll need to speak to the Time-Keepers at once. They're in graver danger than we realized.”
“He's lying. Just playing games. There's no one out there.” Mobius calls out to the group.
“Reset the timeline.” B-15 orders.
“You had me for a second. My ears are sharp too.” He points at Loki’s chest. You follow Mobius out of the tent.
“Well that went well.” You remark, hearing Mobius sigh. He runs his hand over his face.
Tumblr media
You’re tucking into your lunch when you spot Mobius. He picks out a drink and a salad before making his way over to you. You give him a small smile,
“Hi.”
“Hey.”
“How did it go with Renslayer?” He sighs, leaning his head back, before getting comfortable in his seat.
“Well, our Loki hasn’t been deleted yet.”
“That’s good then?” You offer. He sighs,
“Yeah. Though he’s getting more and more talkative.”
“You did say he loves to talk. Where is he now?”
“I’ve left him with the archives, hopefully he’ll be reading for the next few days. Or at least long enough for me to finish lunch.” He begins to eat his salad. Just then, Loki scampers in looking like a manic puppy.
“I found something.” Mobius shakes his head, keeping his attention on his lunch,
“No, I said don’t bother me until you've read all the files.”
“I have.”
“Every file?”
“Yes.”
“Pertaining to the Variant?”
“The answer isn't in the files, it's on the timeline. He's hiding in apocalypses.”
“Which apocalypse?” You ask.
“Any time in history? There's, like, a million of 'em.” Mobius adds.
“Ragnarok. Are you familiar?”
“Yes. The destruction of Asgard and most of its people. I'm sorry.” Loki pauses looking down.
“Yes, very sad.” He immediately perks up again. “Anyway, it got me thinking. Nexus events happen when someone does something they're not supposed to do, right?”
“Well, it's a little more complicated, but, yeah.”
“Great. And then that thing they're not supposed to do, cascades into a whole range of other things that aren't supposed to happen.”
“And so on and so forth, until eventually, a new timeline branches. Yes?”
“Chaotic alterations of a predetermined outcome.”
“Exactly. So, let's just say...” He picks up the salad bowl from in front of Mobius.
“Mm-hm. What are you doing?”
“...your salad is Asgard in this scenario.” Loki continues.
“It's not Asgard, that's my lunch.” Mobius complains, the pouting clear in his voice. You lean forward, a hand on your chin to hide the smile at Mobius’s reaction.
“It's a metaphor. Just hang in there.”
“I want that salad.”
“And I could go down to Asgard before Ragnarok causes its complete destruction and I could do anything I wanted. I could, let's say, push the Hulk off the Rainbow Bridge.” He picks up a salt shaker and puts a large sprinkling of salt across Mobius’s salad.
“There he goes.” You say, feeling rather invested in this metaphor.
“The salt's Hulk?” Mobius asks, clearly not as enthusiastic as you.
“And I could also... Set fire to the palace.” He picks up a pepper pot and shakes the pepper across the salad.
“No, just stop. Don't set fire to the palace.”
“Okay? I can do whatever I want to do, and it would never matter. It wouldn't go against the dictates of the timeline because...” He sets down the shakers after nearly emptying them both. He heads to the table behind you. “Excuse me?”
“Oh, God!” Mobius sighs.
“You!” Recognising the voice you look up to see Casey looking very confused.
“Nice to see you. I just need this for a second. Thanks.” Loki picks up Casey’s carton of juice, before sitting back down at your table. “Because the apocalypse is coming. Ragnarok, Surtur will destroy Asgard no matter what I do.”
“No, don't do...” Mobius sighs as Loki empties the carton over the remains of the salad.
“There's the apocalypse.” You say with a sigh, offering Mobius your bag of chips.
“That's the apocalypse?” He asks, taking a handful of chips from you with a smile.
“Ragnarok obliterates the salt. Ragnarok. There it is.” Loki gestures to the ruined salad with a proud smile.
“What am I lookin' at?”
“Okay, it was a clumsy metaphor. But you see what I mean. It doesn't matter. It could be any apocalypse. It could be a tidal wave. It could be a meteor. It could be a volcano, a supernova. If everything and everyone around you is destined for imminent destruction, then nothing that I say or do will matter, because the timeline's not gonna branch. Hence, the Variant could be hiding in the apocalypse and do whatever he wants, and we wouldn't know!”
“Not bad.” You offer.
“Take me to a real apocalypse, to Ragnarok, I'll show you.” Mobius chuckles,
“Yeah. So you can run away back to your homeland? No.”
“No, I'm not going home. We can go anywhere.”
“I'm not taking you for a stroll along the promenade, much less an apocalypse.”
“Oh, Mobius, come on! What could possibly go wrong? We gotta properly test this theory.”
“Well, here's a fun theory. You lure me out into the field, and stab me in the back. And that's a theory I don't wanna test.”
“I'd never stab anyone in the back. That's such a boring form of betrayal.” He most definitely would stab someone in the back.
“Loki, I've studied almost every moment of your entire life. You've literally stabbed people in the back, like 50 times.”
“Well, I'd never do it again, because it got old.” You both laugh at this. Mobius looks at you, and you shrug.
“Might as well try it?” You offer. Mobius nods,
“Okay.”
“Okay, look, you don't trust me, you can trust one thing. I love to be right.” Loki adds. That certainly isn’t a lie.

Lazy Script Doctor: Loki
I've been wanting to write a fix-it fic for Loki as I've had a few ideas myself, but knowing I probably will never finish it and since my writer's block has been with me for months and doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon, I'm just going to give short summaries of each episode and how my fix-it fic would've gone.
I'm not getting paid by Marvel so I'm not about to work hard on this, but I'll do what I can while at the same time not re watching a single scene from this damn series, I just can't do it.
Episode 1:
Loki teleports some place he knows will be safe and empty, maybe some secret room in Asgard or on another planet, where he has weapons and supplies to stay hidden and safe from Thanos and everyone else that will be coming after him. The TVA shows up and tries to arrest him but he fights them off and uses the Tesseract to escape them. But, everywhere he goes, it creates a Nexus events, and he is eventually caught by B-15 and brought to the TVA. Now, scrap all that unfunny and cringy stuff that leads to him in court, Loki is still very much menacing while still elegant and sarcastic. He tries very early to use his powers but realises he can't. He's got one goal, find the Tesseract, burn this place to the ground, and bail. Mobius in this is a woman (because of Disney's no-homo rule of course) and she saves him from getting reset/pruned, convincing Judge Renslayer he could help them find the variant they've been after.
Loki's brought to an interrogation room where B-15 starts playing to him the tape of his life (she showed him Frigga's death, he's pissed) but M (Mobius' name in this) walks in and turns it off. She says nobody should have to see the tape of their life, and sends B-15 off. So they talk, she tells him they need his help in catching a variant, of course Loki refuses, they're both being sarcastic and it's funny and bla bla bla, Loki makes threats which amuses her, eventually Loki asks "what's in it for me?" and M asks "what do you want?" and since Loki knows this will end with him getting pruned either way, he says he wants to see the tape of his life, and especially how he dies, before he gets pruned after he helps her catch the variant. M agrees, they have a deal.
The rest of the first episode is M showing Loki around the TVA, explaining to him how it works and why they do what they do (it's better explained than in the actual show, did anyone understand a damn thing on how the multiverse worked in the sacred timeline? so confusing) so he's gathering as much info as he can to plan an escape but she makes a joke about it (she's smart enough not to trust him for one second and he's impressed by her). A Nexus event starts and she takes him to the crime scene (but not before reminding him that if he tries to escape, everywhere he goes will create a Nexus event and they'll find him again and their deal will be off). So they investigate the crime scene, Loki learns about the variant's M.O, and M confirms that this looks like exactly what the variant usually does. Then Loki asks who that variant is and M finally tells him it's another version of him.
Episode 2
C-20 gets taken, M and Loki go to the fair to investigate, he's still trying to find a way to escape. They do some research and he wants to test that theory that hiding in apocalypses don't create Nexus events. In Pompeii, Loki pretends that he is a God and that he's the one who starts off the volcano and everyone is scared and kneeling to him and begging him for mercy and he's enjoying himself while M is rolling her eyes but then realises no Nexus event was created so they work on that theory some more and try to find out where the variant is hiding. Bla bla bla, they get to Alabama, the variant enchants M and uses her body to speak to Loki before eventually releasing her and enchanting someone else. M falls to the ground. Loki follows the variant who eventually reveals herself to be Lady Loki (will black hair, like the real Lady Loki, not Sylvie) and they fight and the episode would end with M suddenly helping Loki fight Lady Loki but she bombs the timeline then walks through the TemPad portal and Loki and M follow her and end of episode.
Episode 3
Flashback of M when she was on Earth, in New-York, to be exact. She's with friends when suddenly there's an explosion and screams and panic and then M wakes up in Alabama. So she starts looking for Loki and finds him fighting the variant. They go after her and they get to the TVA, fight some more then end up on Lamentis-1.
M is pissed off because of the visions she keeps having and goes after Lady Loki. Loki restrains her (Lady Loki is stronger anyway, so he breaks it up before she gets hurt) and M asks her to undo whatever she did to him. Lady Loki is confused, she didn't cast any spell or anything, so when M mentions the visions LL just says they're her memories, not illusions, but M does not believe it, she is convinced she was created by the Time Keepers and that LL is lying. LL doesn't care, she's pissed that they stopped her from getting to the Time Keepers but the TemPad is broken so now they have to work together to get out of that planet alive.
They don't trust one another and there's tension in the group but Loki is enjoying the chaos while still being confused as to where they are and how they can get out of there alive. Their goal is to reach the Arc in time, before it gets destroyed, and leave the planet. That will create a Nexus event that will lead the TVA to them, LL is not a fan of the plan, but it's either that or death. So they take the train, LL and Loki create fake tickets (because, you know, God of Trickery and all that jazz) while in the train they talk, M is still having visions and LL assures her she's not lying, they're her memories, M starts having doubts but she still won't believe LL, she can't be trusted. Loki and LL talk about their time on Asgard as children, LL's backstory is about the same as Sylvie's in the show. Loki talks about Frigga and shows M some magic she did for him as a child. LL she asks M if she knows what her Nexus event was, she was only a child and they destroyed her entire universe, she wants to know why, M doesn't know but she says she will find out before she gets pruned once back at the TVA. LL and Loki make some kind of sarcastic joke about surviving this just to die once they're back at the TVA. M asks LL what her goal was anyway, what was her plan, and LL says she just wanted answers and revenge. M talks about how what the TVA is doing is right and necessary but LL doesn't agree, neither does Loki.
Before the train arrives, Loki asks LL if Frigga ever told her a certain story, to which she says yes, Loki says it was his favorite story back when he was a child and LL nods and says it wasn't a bad one. (basically, he's telling her what his plan is going to be back at the TVA)
They fight their way onto the Arc and have it launch early so that it doesn't get destroyed. It creates a Nexus event and the TVA finds them.
Episode 4
M makes sure the TVA knows Loki is with her and helped her catch the variant, so they don't prune him too soon. LL is arrested. Ravonna interrogates M under the disguise of a mission report. M says all the right things, and just keeps asking if she can go back to work and interrogate LL. She asks about C-20 and and Ravonna tells her she's dead, that whatever the variant did eventually led to her death, which is weird, because LL told her C-20 was going to be fine in the previous episode, and shit don't add up.
Once Ravonna is satisfied that M wasn't corrupted, she allows her to go interrogate LL. When she gets to the room, B-15 is with her, it looks like they were plotting something. M asks what's going on and B-15 tells her Ravonna had C-20 pruned (she over-heard it after she got curious because she too got her memories back when LL enchanted her back in Alabama). That just convinces M some more that something is up and that Ravonna isn't telling her the whole truth and she wants to figure it out. So B-15 and M go to the archives and try to get files on the Time Keepers. In the meantime, Loki and LL set their plan in motion, just like in the tale Frigga told them when they were children. (Basically, they beat up their guard and then call for help pretending he's not feeling well then just fight their way out of their interrogation room.) Loki leads them to where he knows the Tesseract is, their plan is to steal it and steal a TemPad and just bail but the Tesseract doesn't work here nor do all the other Infinity Stones they find with it.
M gets caught by Ravonna who asks her what she's doing. She pretends part of her deal with Loki was to get him certain answers. She stalls so that B-15 can get out of the archives without getting caught. Ravonna says she didn't agree to it and asks M to go back to interrogating LL but then TVA agents warn her that LL and Loki have escaped and she's suspicious enough of M to have her arrested.
Tesseract still in hand, Loki and LL, on their way out to find a TemPad, eventually cross the path of Ravonna, M and a few TVA agents. They have no trouble fighting them off. In the chaos, M starts fighting against Ravonna (they're supposed to be friends like she was with Mobius) and asks her the truth about the Time Keepers, and are they really all variants? Only Ravonna remains, LL and Loki are about to go after her and help M but Ravonna takes her hostage and threatens to prune her. That doesn't stop LL but Loki stops her as he doesn't want M to get pruned.
"You sacrifice yourself for Thor," M says and Loki gives her a confused look, "that's how you die."
M then starts fighting back against Ravonna but eventually gets pruned, Loki drops the Tesseract to go after Ravonna but she stops them when she says "I can get you in the room with the Time Keepers," so they make her lead them to them.
The Time Keepers tell them a bunch of bs they don't believe for one second and then realise the Time Keepers aren't real but Ravonna stalled long enough for reinforcement to come.
LL and Loki get pruned.
Episode 5
They awake together in some sort of apocalyptic world. They wander around then have to run away from the big purple giant cloud who wants to eat them. They meet other versions of themselves who help them out. Classic!Loki, kid!Loki, President!Loki etc. They all talk about their Nexus event and how they got pruned etc. Loki wants to go look for M but the others tell him it's not safe out there, the only person that roams around out there is 'the woman' who is the oldest person from the void (she's been here the longest, she's very powerful). He wants to go anyway and LL says she'll go with him, they argue a bit because he doesn't need help but eventually agrees to let her come with him. They get attacked by some weird monsters, they fight them off with magic but eventually get outnumbered but they get saved by the woman who turns out to be Frigga.
"Your mom's awesome."
Loki turns around to find M who also helped fight the monsters away.
Big reunion between LL, Loki and Frigga. Then Loki and M have a ("friendship") moment.
Frigga then tells them about her Nexus event (she became Queen of Asgard instead of Odin) and then she tells them about Alioth and what he's guarding. So they figure out that whoever is behind the TVA is hiding behind Alioth so they reunite all the other Lokis and together they defeat it using magic cause dah.
Frigga, M and all the other Lokis start walking towards the house.
Episode 6
The house is empty, dark, dusty, they start thinking it's abandoned. Then Kang finds them, he's calm and serious but not threatening, he doesn't have to worry as he's stronger than all of them.
He admits he didn't plan for any of that to happen, he didn't see it coming, that's what's so annoying with the Nexus events, they can lead to anything, that's why nothing should be allowed to survive from those branches. Some Lokis start going after him but he kills them really easily which deters the others from attacking him.
Kang starts explaining why he's doing what he's doing, why it's a necessary evil, that if he dies, worse versions of him will appear. He explains the real truth about how he created the TVA and why. Then in the end some Lokis agree that he's a necessary evil and others just want to kill him so they fight with each other and basically kill each other. LL just wants to kill him while Loki thinks they should talk about it, plan things out, so she starts fighting him. M doesn't know what to do. In the end, Frigga sacrifices herself and kills Kang in a badass, powerful and emotional scene.
The void is collapsing, the multiverse just goes crazy and LL, Loki and M just wait for their death at the end of time. But before that happens she turns to LL and asks her to help her remember her old life. We don't see it but when LL is done, M looks surprised, hurt then pissed. Without a word she turns towards Loki who's confused and a bit concerned. He doesn't stop her when she reaches for one of his daggers and then there's a flashback of her in New-York as she stabs him. Then we see how she was supposed to die during the attack of New-York but Loki kinda saves her but like sarcastically tells her that it's not safe and she should hide (like it's not heroic or anything). So her Nexus event was surviving the attack of New-York basically.
Loki falls to his knees and she follows him down as she pushed the dagger further in. He's all confused and hurt because he trusted her and she literally stabbed him. He can see she has no regret about what she's done which makes him think whatever he did to her in her human life was pretty bad. "I'm sorry," he tells her, and she's knows he's sincere because they're all about to die anyway. She kinda looks down at her hand holding the dagger and starts realising what she's done but he smiles and tells her it's okay, that he knows he deserves it. The house starts shaking and the roof is seconds from falling over their heads when suddenly the room turns yellow/orange. They turn to see what the source of the light is and it's one of those Doctor Strange round portals and Doctor Strange's music theme starts playing and that's how the episode end.
Post credit scene: they're in New-York at the sanctuary. M is standing in the middle between Loki and LL who are both seating on an armchair. She's facing LL and is turning her back to Loki. They're waiting in silence, we don't know why. Then we see someone approach, we can only see his back but he's wearing the red cape and we all know it's Doctor Strange.

C♥ntinued for @yoursaviourhasarrived
What crazy events they faced, who would say Mobius would end up betraying the TVA and live peacefully with Loki, that surely was unexpected if you asked him before Loki showed up. The TVA was gone, and they both were finally free, but he was still prisoner of his own mind. With no memories from his past life before the TVA, just these awful nightmares that he didn’t know if they were even real at all.
The house Loki build with his magic was speechless, his hands rested on his hips as he looked around the place, the god really thought of everything he was truly impressed, as his grin showed, "wow this is amazing" sliding his fingers thru his hair he turned to Loki as this one spoke “ oh yes go ahead you really look like you need it “ he let out a small teasing chuckle, truth is he also might need a moment alone for himself, they both deserved to chill for a bit.
Tumblr media
He wasn’t expecting Loki to ask him to move in together, well he  should’ve saw it coming after everything they went thru, there was some really strong bond there, that really wasn’t foregin at all, he wondered if he ever felt this deep connection with someone, not even with Ravonna. All the relationships he had at the TVA were merely business yes he cared about his mates and co-workers, but it was just something that always came natural to him, with Ravonna was different they’ve known each other for eons as she mentioned, so of course she was important damn at some point he even thought of her as family, but still it wasn’t same as with Loki.
The ex analyst walked through a balcony once Loki was out of sight, and just took in the beautiful view, he really didn’t mind where they would go live as long as the god was happy and of course Mobius was able to ride a jet-ski there was no issue. Everything came like a tsunami once he was alone, all the people he pruned while trying to take down the TVA, the people he managed to save and get out of there , his own people some friends trying to fight him, Ravonna leaving, he was wondering if she found what she was looking for. He squeezed the railing of the balcony and bend down to burry his head on his hands , he could feel his body shaking he had to calm down, but it was too much, he wanted to s c r e a m, cry, but he also didn’t want to worry Loki, so all he did for now was stay there head burried in his arms as his hands squeezed his hair, hopefully he would be much calm before the god came from their bath, and saw him in this state.

Marvel’s Loki Episode 5: MCU Easter Eggs and References
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article contains Loki episode 5 spoilers.
Marvel’s Loki episode 5 is a big one. Yes, we know…last week felt like that. And the one before it, too. But this one really IS, with the entire episode taking place (as DoG’s Kayti Burt put it) on top of a literal “trash pile of MCU and Marvel Comics Easter eggs.”
With that in mind, let’s have some fun with all the incredible Marvel references they managed to sneak into Loki episode 5.
Journey Into Mystery
You probably already know this, but Journey Into Mystery was the book that first introduced the Marvel Comics version of Thor, with Loki following shortly after. The title eventually was just renamed Thor since the Asgardians had become the primary focus of the book for years by that point. However, Journey Into Mystery was revived a few years back, with its primary focus being on the adventures of Kid Loki this time around.
Thanos Copter
The Lokis pass a helicopter with “THANOS” on the side. This is a reference to Spidey Super Stories #39 from 1979. The all-ages comic featured a story of Spider-Man and the Cat (Hellcat) taking on Thanos, who was on the hunt for the Cosmic Cube. He flew around New York City in his own helicopter with his name on the side. The reference comes up as a joke here and there, including an issue of Deadpool. Even Thanos’ giant two-sided blade weapon from Avengers: Endgame has been considered by many to be a sly reference to the Thanos Copter.
Ecto-Cooler
While the Lokis are all drinking wine, Kid Loki is shown drinking Hi-C Ecto Cooler. The Slimer-based citrus drink was a tie-in to The Real Ghostbusters cartoon of the 1980s and lasted into 2001 due to its popularity. Afterwards, it became a fondly-remembered relic to time. Ecto Cooler made a brief return in 2016 to coincide with the Ghostbusters reboot. Sadly, there’s no news of it coming back for the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife movie.
Speaking of Kid Loki…
Kid Loki
Kid Loki seems to be wielding a flaming sword, which looks an awful lot like Laevateinn, the sword he wielded in the Loki: Agent of Asgard comics.
Polybius
In the background of the Lokis’ lair, we see a Polybius arcade machine. Polybius is a long-running urban legend. Supposedly, back in 1981, an arcade machine was set up in Portland, Oregon, watched over by various men in black. The game was so addicting that it caused fights to break out and horrible side-effects to its players. We wrote more about the decades-old mystery of Polybius right here.
Pretty sure there’s an old Williams Space Pinball machine in there, too but that’s not as wild as Polybius.
The Void
Fittingly, the realm where all the pruned victims end up is called the Void. In the comics, the Void is a dark, inexplicable, and possibly biblical entity that acts as the evil side to the Sentry. During the storyline Siege, the Void murdered Loki, which facilitated his rebirth as Kid Loki.
Alioth
Alioth first appeared in Avengers: The Terminatrix Objective #1, the same 1993 comic that also introduced Ravonna Renslayer to the world…and one that features Kang as its central villain. Hmmmm…
Oh, and Alioth was co-created by Mobius M. Mobius inspiration/model Mark Gruenwald, who gets another shout later in the episode.
Vote Loki
The “politician Loki” who we see leading (inasumuch as they can/want to be led) the loose coalition of Variant Lokis is modeled almost exactly on the version of Loki from Marvel’s Vote Loki story by Christopher Hastings, Langdon Foss, and Paul McCaffery. In it, Loki ends up running for President, with his ridiculous campaign built on the “honest” deception of openly lying to the American people inadvertently aided by a credulous news media. It’s a good read and you should check it out.
This episode also engages in the old MCU/Star Wars tradition of someone getting a hand cut off…in this case it’s our pal, “Vote Loki.”
Frog Thor
A frog resembling Thor is shown in a jar labeled “T365.” Wouldn’t you know it, Thor #365 is the issue where Loki transforms Thor into a frog. Yes, it was a whole thing. Walt Simonson’s run on the Thor comics is really spectacular.
“Frog Thor” also got a mention in Thor: Ragnarok, during the “play within the movie” seen as “Loki” apologized to “Thor” for turning him into a frog.
You know, there’s even an independent wrestler with a Thor Frog gimmick. Life is beautiful sometimes.
Classic Loki
So it appears that Classic Loki is basically what would have happened if “our” Loki survived the opening of Avengers: Infinity War, which he did by allowing Thanos to kill a duplicate while he disguised himself as some debris. Classic Loki went into hiding and developed a taste for brighter greens and yellows, and aged into Richard E. Grant, before he was pruned by the TVA and found himself here in the Void.
Classic Loki’s line about “the god of outcasts” comes from 2019’s Loki #5, by Daniel Kibblesmith and Andy McDonald:
“I am Loki. God of outcasts. They see themselves in me. And I in them. All of us, alone together. It’s why my stories always end with someone trying to put me in a box. And begin with my spectacular escape.”
Later in the episode, Classic Loki and Kid Loki literally “exit stage right,” in what feels like a very deliberately “stagey” moment that plays on the Shakespearean overtones of all of this.
The Living Tribunal
On the ground in the Void there’s a large severed head…and it’s that of The Living Tribunal, a cosmic entity created by Stan Lee and Marie Severin back in 1967. The presence of a Living Tribunal (even one who is dead at this present time), whose entire purpose for being is predicated on the existence of a multiverse, means that the TVA is trying very hard to cut all ties and any evidence of the fact that the multiverse is already out there.
U.S.S. Eldridge
The USS Eldridge was a real Cannon-class destroyer in the U.S. Navy in use from 1943 to 1992. It was supposedly sold for scrap after it was decommissioned but Loki posits that perhaps it was an unwanted Variant in the Sacred Timeline. Perhaps this is because the ship was rumored to be subjected to the “Philadelphia Experiment” that was supposed to render it invisible to the human eye. The story is sadly probably a hoax.
There’s a not exactly great 1984 movie called The Philadelphia Experiment which adds time travel to the equation, making this little callback even more Loki appropriate.
Is That Stan Lee?
At about 9:38 there’s a mural in the TVA headquarters. On the right there’s a guy in prescription shades, with a familiar moustache and salt-and-pepper hair. We’re not saying that’s Stan Lee, but…
The Castle
Yes, we know, that ominous castle sure looks like Doctor Doom’s  home of Doomstadt, but…it’s probably not (or is it?). More likely, this is Castle Limbo, home of Kang the Conqueror (or…is it?).
We unpacked these possibilities some more here.
The Music
The “heroic Loki” theme at the end sounds like it’s about to break into Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries.”
Speaking of, the regular Loki theme is very similar to the part of the Delfonics “Ready or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love)” that was sampled for Missy Elliott’s “Sock It To Me.” The original (also sampled for the Fugees’ “Ready or Not” and Dr. Dre’s “Still D.R.E.”) was about the inevitability of love, and Missy’s song was about sneaking into somebody’s house to get your back blown out, so basically the same thing. Could have some bearing on Loki and Sylvie’s story.
The music that plays during the “Loki brawl” is this show’s equivalent of Scooby-Doo chase music. That’s a good thing, by the way.
Pixar, is that you?
Was that the Pizza Planet truck? Mobius’s ride, a station wagon with a slice of pizza on top, immediately brought to mind the popular Pixar easter egg/elaborate timeline mcguffin that has appeared in every Pixar movie to date. Also, very nice touch having Lightning McQueen himself drive it.
An even nicer touch is the license plate on the car Mobius is driving: GRN W1D. As in “Gruenwald.” As in (say it with us, kids!) Mark Gruenwald, the Marvel writer and editor who Mobius is based on.
Ant-Man
At one point on the ground in the Void we can spot a gigantic Yellowjacket helmet. Yellowjacket is the codename for several size-shifting superheroes in the Marvel Comics, but is best known to MCU fans as Corey Stoll’s Darren Cross from the first Ant-Man flick.
Guardians of the Galaxy
There’s lots of crashed spacecraft, one of which kind of looks like the Dark Aster (Ronan the Accuser’s ship in Guardians of the Galaxy), and there may be a Helicarrier hanging around. There’s also a flying saucer that vaguely resembles the ship from John Carpenter’s The Thing, and a pirate ship that if Doctor Doom were actually the villain of this show (he isn’t…or…is he?) would make us think of that character’s very first appearance in Fantastic Four comics, where he sent Ben Grimm back in time to become Blackbeard. No, really.
Miscellaneous Time Variants
The fate of the Lokis is reminiscent of What If? #12, otherwise known as What If the X-Men Had Stayed in Asgard? At the end of the story, after tasting defeat yet again, Loki begged Those Who Sit Above in Shadow to allow him to rule Asgard. They agreed by sending him far into the future at the end of time. As reality started to break down, Loki went out laughing in the face of oblivion.
The bus ad at the beginning is for Calum Ross, who is an editor on the show.
The shot of all the Lokis walking as the camera swoops overhead is very much reminiscent of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movies.
Loki and Sylvie are cold in The Void. But wait a minute, aren’t they both Frost Giants? Why then would Loki conjure a green blanket? Unless he wants a convenient excuse to cuddle up with his Variant…
Loki is drinking “RoxxiWine” pinot noir…out of a box…which is a nice touch.
Is that weird, very large plant in the bowling alley hideout supposed to be a Variant Yggdrasil? Or wait…what if that’s Plant Loki?!? He’s green, isn’t he?
Next to Alligator Loki’s kiddie pool there’s a copy of The Mystery and Lore of Monsters, a 1930 book by Charles J.S. Thompson.
The tower we all keep thinking is Avengers Tower is in fact Qeng Tower, the headquarters of Qeng Enterprises, the company that Tony Stark (mistakenly) sold the old Avengers tower to in the comics.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Spot anything we missed? (Probably, right?) Let us know in the comments!

Loki Season 1 Episode 3 [1x03] 2021 full - https://loki-season-1-episode-3.blogspot.com/
When Marvel's Kevin Feige recently spoke about Loki's evolution, he noted that "putting Loki in his own procedural series became the Eureka moment of the show." This became a topic of conversation among fans because Loki was simultaneously promoted as another "six-hour movie" and the two concepts seemed to clash a bit. Would Loki's general story blend well with the elements of a criminal proceeding?
The first episode of Marvel's latest small screen project gave us a bit of good cop / bad cop stuff, with some interrogation room tactics interwoven as Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius took the route of "getting into the mind of a murderer ", and the second episode of Loki continues to adopt the procedural atmosphere.
A fairly traditional teaser sets Episode 2 as C-20 (American Honey's Sasha Lane) and his squad of TVA Hunters arrive in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in the mid-1980s to investigate a reported Variant loose at a Renaissance fair. The team is ambushed by the Minutemen-killing variant of Loki mentioned by Mobius at the end of the last episode, and Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out for a Hero" accompanies the rest of the scene in what may or may not be the deepest. online. cut I've ever seen.
TERRIBLE MISS MINUTES IMPRESSION: Hi! You might be wondering what a "teaser" or an "open cold" is! Let me bring you up to speed. A teaser is a narrative technique used at the beginning of a television episode to intrigue the audience enough to be attentive. In criminal proceedings, it is usually the first building block of the mystery of that episode. A good cold makes us feel compelled to stay and find out "who it is", why or how!
Back at TVA, Loki is learning, or half learning, about what happens when a Nexus event passes the red line and they can't reset it: the destruction of the sacred timeline. During the lesson, Miss Minutes acts like a Gal Friday whom Loki appreciates little despite his enthusiasm, and ends up calling him an idiot. What it is absolutely. However, the scene is delicious. If there has to be a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? remake in our future, put Tom Hiddleston there as Eddie Valiant and you could build a sturdy bridge with my suspension of disbelief.
Some specific temporal energy has informed the TVA that the Loki Variation was in fact responsible for ambushing the C-20 team. Hunters are used to dealing with Variants of Loki, apparently pruning Lokis "almost more than any other Variant". Even though he's a slippery bastard, this stands out as pretty important information. Are these variants like raptors unknowingly testing fences? Also, can we guess who might lead the pack when it comes to variant numbers if Loki is in second place? Keep checking the background on TVA! We've already seen Skrull and Peggy Carter.
Our Loki is being nagged at the possibility that he could snag an audience with the Timekeepers if useful enough, relying on the tried-and-true cop series "you could get immunity or a reduced sentence if you cooperate" . Loki buys it, but it seems incredibly unlikely that this is anything more than manipulative shit on Mobius' part.
One of the culminating achievements of this episode comes when Loki tries to fool the TVA with a nasty speech. A speech that somehow ensnares listeners with the promise of imminent danger and makes the complacency so thick that we lean closer, waiting for the point to surface.
It's a Loki afternoon special that comes when we least expect it. It is also a testament to Hiddleston's iron grip on this character's strengths that the god can still make us believe that he has changed when he is lying so clearly. The reveal that the weather variant is using apocalypse to hide from the TVA is a game changer for this episode in many ways.
Loki can process Ragnorak's events and use the experience to further his personal agenda. Not only does it reveal a huge hole in TVA security, but we can also invest in a particularly interesting aspect of this complicated science of time.
Ultimately, it's the apocalypse that allows this episode to go from mediocre to glorious, as the escalation of the conflict forces the drab tone of Loki's workplace to shift to something darker. The reveal of "Lady Loki" is not as surprising as it is effective in bringing this season closer to madness and potential greatness.
The episode cleverly forces Loki to rely on his powers, only to bring in this character who has a much greater understanding of his abilities. The brief and menacing presence of her shows how little we've explored the God of Mischief beyond Thor's eyes.
And we have no idea if this woman is a variant of Loki, yet another layer of deception. Sophia Di Martino's Lady Loki may be a simple taunt, but she is effective. The rich power dynamics and sinister tricks displayed in the final moments of this episode are reminiscent of a darker tone that Loki has staggered into since The Avengers. It's lovely to see this series celebrate the very traits that have taught us not to like Loki. It has been even more beautiful to see him play with the good and the bad side by side.
This is a story in which the greatest achievements can be summed up in the smallest details; like when Loki joins a holographic Miss Minutes, who casually mentions that it's not quite a recording, how cute and awful!
Loki has been operating with one hand tied in building the world and now that the world has caught fire, it's time to see what this series is truly capable of. We can also spend some time alone with Mobius and Judge Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) in this episode. Clearly, the pair have known each other for a long time, but Renslayer now has the unenviable task of crossing the line between boss and friend. She's firm and calm, but you can still picture her as Loki's own police chief: laying down the law with Mobius, calling him a "loose cannon" for allowing Loki to enter the fold and asking him to hand over his badge and weapon, or whatever. make it the equivalent of TVA.
Her interactions with Renslayer are supposed to be charming, but they're actually a bit unsettling, although I still don't know why. Mobius leaves the meeting even more determined to see Loki pick up his pace. He tries to manipulate the manipulator with his firm but soft-spoken psychology by telling him that the troublesome assassin Variant is a "superior version" of Loki. Our Loki is just a "scared boy". I mean, why are you booing him? He is right.
Loki gets to work in the guts of TVA at the pace of the investigation, perusing the case files and having a fun interaction with a live-action Roz from Monsters, Inc. The stakes are high here. Loki's life depends largely on him finding a breadcrumb or two, and thankfully he succeeds during an emotional scene in which he processes that Asgard, the house he grew up in and later left, is gone. And he didn't even get a chance to say goodbye.
He delves into the destruction of Asgard and finds that no variation energy was detected at ground zero and he has an epiphany (mmm, we'll get back to that, no one here is ready for more of my Miss Minutes hack yet, at least all of me) about which the show seems to hope you don't ask too many tough questions.
Loki reasons that he would be hiding in zero-swing energy apocalypse events if he was evading TVA, and he's excited to prove he's right. Mobius has doubts, but they prove Loki's winning theory in Pompeii just as the city is being destroyed. The police friend's energy is strong on the scene, with Loki acting as the rogue rogue who won't follow the rules and Mobius as his tired older partner.

His Dear One, His Only Child: The Complicated Relationship Between Prospero and Miranda
(This essay was originally written in December 2020 as part of an independent project analyzing William Shakespeare’s The Tempest and some of its modern adaptations/retellings. It is a companion piece to the short play Lull.)
The Tempest by William Shakespeare begins with and revolves around a journey. Prospero, a sorcerer who acquired his abilities through years of intense study of the “liberal arts”, has instructed a spirit named Ariel to cause a ship carrying several members of nobility within Italy on the island he rules. While on this island the prince of Naples, a young man named Ferdinand, falls in love with Prospero’s daughter, Miranda. Miranda has been raised since the age of three on this island, having accompanied her father there after he was removed from his post as the Duke of Milan and banished to the island. She has been exposed to almost no other people around her other than her father and the half-fish half-man creature named Caliban whom Prospero keeps as a slave. Miranda and Ferdinand are subsequently married by Prospero, restoring the link between the noble families. Prospero reconciles with the King of Naples, and they all plan to return to Italy. Before he returns, however, Prospero finally does what he had claimed he would do repeatedly throughout the play, and frees Ariel from his service, ending all of the magic that Ariel performed. In addition, his words and the actions suggested therein imply that he gives up his magic completely. He says, “this rough magic I hereby abjure… I’ll break my staff, bury it in certain fathoms in the earth, and deeper than did ever plummet sound I’ll drown my book.” At the end of the play, he says, “now I want Spirits to enforce, art to enchant.” In this case, ‘want’ means ‘lack,’ implying that Prospero has thrown down his staff and renounced his magical powers, despite how much power those abilities gave him.
By explicitly connecting Prospero’s ability to leave the island with his relinquishment of his magical powers, Shakespeare is emphasizing the theme of control with regards to Prospero’s character. In order for Prospero to regain his freedom, he needs to give up some of what gives him power. To be free, he must leave the island he rules, and give up his magical abilities. However, there are two characters over whom he has power that are not acknowledged in his closing monologue — Caliban and Miranda. Caliban is explicitly regarded as Prospero’s slave, and while he appears to acknowledge that Caliban is his responsibility towards the end of the play, there’s no mention of what is going to happen to Caliban; it is unknown if Prospero will take him to Italy to continue being his slave, or if he is to be left on the island alone as he was before Prospero and Miranda arrived. As Caliban’s character and enslavement is often interpreted as a metaphor for colonized people and colonization, his ambiguous fate in the play has been thoroughly analyzed, most notably in Aime Cesaire’s A Tempest. But even more subtle is how Miranda factors into Prospero’s quest for freedom. While she is not explicitly under her father’s control in the same way Caliban and Ariel are, she has been kept on an island with only her father and a creature who threatens to rape her for company. Her marriage to Ferdinand is legitimized by her father; Prospero then claims to sympathize with the King who fears his son has been killed because “I have lost my daughter.” He ultimately approves of the marriage between Miranda and Ferdinand, but his words imply that he struggles with this change. Shakespeare suggests via Prospero’s character arc that to achieve freedom, one must give up a certain amount of power, whether it be literal magic powers or power over other people.
The Tempest has been adapted countless times in many different forms of media. In two cases, the relationship between Miranda and Prospero is given even more attention. In Hag Seed, a novel by Margaret Atwood, The Tempest is given a modern setting in suburban Canada, where Prospero has been transformed into Felix Phillips, a disgraced theatre director who along with getting a job teaching theatre at the local prison begins to imagine his deceased daughter as an invisible spirit who accompanies him everywhere. While imagining Miranda as a little girl able to grow up and have the life she could not in reality provides him some comfort, eventually Felix lets her go. He accepts that she is gone but is grateful for the time he spent with her and the love he was able to give her, which he now expresses through his relationships with other people. Atwood writes,
Already she’s fading, losing substance: he can barely sense her. She’s asking him a question. Is he compelling her to accompany him on the rest of his journey? … What has he been thinking — keeping her tethered to him all this time? Forcing her to do his bidding? How selfish he has been! Yes, he loves her: his dear one, his only child. But he knows what she truly wants, and what he owes her. … “To the elements be free,” he says to her.  And, finally, she is.
Felix’s journey is one of grief, and the conclusion of his arc involves an acceptance of his daughter’s death. Rather than continuing to keep her alive in his imagination, he releases her in the same way Shakespeare’s Prospero releases Ariel, a spirit that continually asks for his freedom. In Atwood’s retelling, Miranda is imaginary, so the only consequence of Felix’s separation from her is his ability to move on with his life having achieved closure. While this is an optimistic and satisfying ending for Felix’s character, it is notable that even Felix acknowledges how he has been keeping Miranda tethered to him. In cases where the point of separation is not so clear, such as when both characters are alive, it is not as easy for the ending to be as satisfying, because one has to consider how the separation will affect both characters as time goes on.
The 1956 film Forbidden Planet directed by Fred M. Wilcox has an ending that is not nearly as optimistic as Atwood’s adaptation of The Tempest. Instead of a Caliban character, the grotesque figure of the story is a monster literally created by Morbius, this adaptation’s version of Prospero. A literal manifestation of Morbius’ id, the creature seeks to kill the crew of the starship C-57D. Notably, the creature comes to kill the ship’s crew after Morbius’ daughter Altaira says that she wants to leave the planet because she has fallen in love with one of the Officers. Morbius asks the machine he created, Robbie the Robot, to destroy it, but the robot shuts down because it recognizes that the creature is a manifestation of Mobius’ desires, and thus is part of him. Mobius is eventually killed by the creature, but not before he sets off a sequence that eventually destroys the entire planet while the crew and his daughter watch from the ship. In this case, Morbius is literally killed by his subconscious desire to prevent Altaira from leaving him. As the understandably upset Commander Adams says, “but now she’s [Altaira] defying you, Morbius. Even in you, the loving father, there still exists the mindless primitive, more enraged and more inflamed with each new frustration. So now you’re whistling up your monster again! To punish her for her disloyalty and disobedience!” Unable to fully accept that his child no longer sees him as her sole companion, he lashes out, killing himself and his world in the process. Forbidden Planet explores how a parent’s protectiveness of their child can be destructive.  Having witnessed the destruction of her planet, Altaira is able to leave with the ship’s crew and her lover, but the audience can clearly see that she will forever be traumatized by the loss of her father.
At the conclusion of both Hag Seed and Forbidden Planet, the connection between the versions of Miranda and Prospero is broken, either by choice or as a consequence of Prospero’s actions. Prospero’s fate is dependent upon his ability to give up power over his daughter. Power in both cases can both help and hurt Miranda. Miranda is kept safe and given companionship by her father, but she is also isolated and treated like a child with no real exposure to other people. Both the original play and the adaptations suggest that for the characters to be free, Prospero must give up some of his control over Miranda. But what is not explored in either adaptation is the other condition of Prospero’s freedom: the willingness of the audience to applaud, and thus let the play end.
Prospero says in his final monologue, “But release me from my bands/with the help of your good hands...As you from crimes would pardoned be/let your indulgence set me free.” Prospero breaks the fourth wall at this point, asking the audience to let the play end, so that he may move on in his own journey. In Hag Seed and Forbidden Planet, the audience is not given this option; the stories simply end like all books and films do. But in Shakespeare’s original work, the possibility of the story not ending is presented to the audience. The audience then has to consider, however briefly, the consequences of the plot’s continuation. One of those consequences is how the separation between Prospero and Miranda would become complicated.  By writing a scene centered on Miranda set years after a modern version of The Tempest would have taken place, I aimed to illuminate the difficulty with which Prospero gives up power over Miranda, and how their isolation affected both of them. By showing Miranda’s unwillingness to go against her father’s wishes, I sought to emphasize that it is not only difficult for a parent to give up power over a child as they grow up, like Prospero does, but that it is just as difficult for the child to give up the comfort of their parent’s care. Unlike Prospero’s decision to give up his magical powers, there is no one clear act that can fully sever the connection between parent and child. When both parties are left alive, as they are in The Tempest, it is unclear how much freedom from each other they really want, how that freedom manifests itself, and whether that separation can or should be permanent at all.

Loki Episode 2 Holds Out for a Hero and a Villain
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This review contains spoilers for the second episode of Loki
Loki Episode 2
“Up where the mountains meet the heavens above. Out where the lightning splits the sea. I could swear that there’s someone somewhere watching me.”
When Marvel’s Kevin Feige discussed Loki’s evolution recently, he noted that “putting Loki into his own procedural series became the Eureka moment for the show.” This became a talking point between fans because Loki was simultaneously hyped as another “six-hour movie” and the two concepts seemed to clash a little. Would Loki’s overarching story blend well with elements of a crime procedural?
The first episode of Marvel’s latest small screen project gave us a little good-cop/bad-cop stuff, with some interrogation room tactics weaved in as Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius went down the “get inside the mind of a killer” route, and the second episode of Loki continues to embrace the procedural vibe.
A fairly traditional teaser sets up episode 2 as C-20 (Sasha Lane from American Honey) and her squad of TVA Hunters arrive in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in the mid-80s to investigate a reported Variant on the loose at a renaissance fair. The team is ambushed by the Minutemen-murdering Loki Variant mentioned by Mobius at the end of the last episode, and Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero” accompanies the rest of the scene in what may or may not be the most extremely online deep cut I’ve ever seen.
TERRIBLE MISS MINUTES IMPRESSION: Hi there! You may be asking yourself what a “teaser” or “cold open” is! Let me get you up to speed. A teaser is a narrative technique used at the start of a TV episode to intrigue the audience just enough to stay tuned. In crime procedurals it’s usually the first building block of that episode’s mystery. A good cold open makes us feel compelled to stick around and find out “whodunnit,” why, or how!
Back at the TVA, Loki is learning – or half-learning – about what happens when a Nexus Event passes the red line and they can’t reset it: the destruction of the Sacred Timeline. During the lesson Miss Minutes acts as a Gal Friday who Loki has little appreciation for despite her enthusiasm, and she ends up calling him a jerk. Which he absolutely is. Nevertheless, the scene is delightful. If there has to be a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? remake in our future, put Tom Hiddleston in there as Eddie Valiant and you could craft a sturdy bridge out of my suspension of disbelief.
Some specific temporal energy has informed the TVA that the Loki Variant was indeed responsible for the ambush on C-20’s team. The Hunters are used to dealing with Loki Variants – apparently they prune Lokis “almost more than any other Variant.” Slippery little bugger though he may be, this stands out as fairly important information. Are these Variants like raptors unwittingly testing the fences? Also, can we take a guess at who might be leading the pack when it comes to Variant numbers if Loki is in second place? Keep checking the background at the TVA! We’ve already seen a Skrull and Peggy Carter.
Our Loki is being teased with the possibility that he could snag an audience with the Time-Keepers if he’s useful enough, leaning into the tried and true cop show “you could get immunity or a reduced sentence if you cooperate” trope. Loki buys it, but it seems incredibly unlikely that this is anything other than manipulative bullshit on Mobius’ part.
We also get to spend a little time alone with Mobius and Judge Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) in this episode. The pair have clearly known each other for a long time but Renslayer now has the unenviable task of riding the line between boss and pal. She’s steady and calm, but you can still envision her as Loki’s own police chief: laying down the law with Mobius, calling him a “loose cannon” for allowing Loki into the fold, and asking him to turn in his badge and gun – or whatever the TVA equivalent is.
His interactions with Renslayer are perhaps supposed to be charming but they’re actually kinda unsettling, though I can’t quite put my finger on why just yet.
Mobius emerges from the meeting even more determined to see Loki pick up the pace. He tries to out-manipulate the manipulator with his firm but soft-spoken psychology by telling him that the troublesome killer Variant is a “superior version” of Loki. Our Loki is just a “scared little boy”. I mean, why are you booing him? He’s right.
Loki is put to work in the bowels of the TVA on the research beat, poring through case files and having a fun interaction with a live-action Roz from Monsters, Inc. The stakes are high here. Loki’s life pretty much depends on him finding a breadcrumb or two, and luckily he manages it during an emotional montage during which he processes that Asgard, the home he grew up in and then abandoned, is gone. And he didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye.
He digs deeper into the destruction of Asgard and finds that there was no variance energy detected at ground zero and has an epiphany (mmm, we’ll come back to that, no one here is ready for more of my Miss Minutes shtick yet, least of all me) that the show seems to be hoping you don’t ask too many hard questions about.
Loki reasons that he’d hide in zero variance energy apocalypse events if he were evading the TVA, and is excited to prove himself right. Mobius is dubious, but they try out Loki’s winning theory in Pompeii just as the city is being destroyed. The buddy cop energy is strong in the scene, with Loki acting as the mischievous rookie who won’t play by the rules and Mobius as his older, weary partner.
Hiddleston and Wilson’s banter remains effortless, and I can admit that it works a lot better than Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan’s in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Maybe it’s that Wilson’s “bird noises” bit truly feels like improv being done by someone who’s good at improv – the kind of thing you’d usually see end up in a Marvel gag reel. There’s a lot of fun stuff in this episode, but just passively watching Hiddleston and Wilson’s undeniable chemistry even when they’re having an existential chat about life, the universe, and jet skis has proved to be enough for me honestly.
Speaking of which, Loki uses said chat to plant a much-needed seed of doubt in Mobius’ mind about whether the Time-Keepers and the TVA are really the good guys. I’m on his side here: all that Variant killing and near-religious predetermination has left a whole lot of blood on their hands. ATCAB – All Time Cops Are Bastards! No, wait, that’s Jean-Claude Van Damme erasure. I won’t have it.
Anyway, ding-ding, maybe these two mismatched detectives have more in common than they thought, and it all leads to Mobius having his own Kablooie epiphany.
EVEN WORSE MISS MINUTES IMPRESSION SOMEHOW: A sudden epiphany during an episode is often called a “Eureka!” Moment. The protagonist has some good evidence and the case is almost cracked! All it will take is a little bit of inspiring information to help them cross the finish line. If you’ve ever seen an episode of House, you may already be familiar with these moments, and the look on Hugh Laurie’s face when he finally works out that it’s not lupus or sarcoidosis. Come back soon!
Mobius’ “Eureka moment” places the murderous Variant in 2050 Alabama, so Loki, Mobius, Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), and a bunch of other Minutemen eventually find themselves inside a slightly futuristic shopping haven called Roxxcart. I love that this show could go anywhere and do anything but will just as happily cut to a file room or a barely-disguised Walmart as it will to apocalyptic fucken Pompeii.
The Roxxcart mission indeed unveils the mystery Variant: it’s Sophia Di Martino! And the credits identify her as Sylvie aka Enchantress and not Lady Loki as we may have expected.
Depending on your grasp of Marvel lore, this reveal will be quite surprising, thrilling, and perhaps confusing. Pros: we didn’t have to wait as long for this unveiling as we did for WandaVision’s Agatha Harkness reveal. Cons: no catchy theme song. But the fact that this reveal has come so early on in the series is pretty exciting – it probably means bigger surprises lie ahead.
But it’s here that the episode subverts our procedural expectations somewhat. It’s not Sylvie who is revealing her grand plan upon being discovered, it’s Loki. And she’s way ahead of him. “This isn’t about you,” she tells Loki, somewhat echoing the Ancient One’s dying words to Doctor Strange.
Again, this feels very significant. Ol’ Tilda spent a long time protecting our reality, and her successor is about to deal with a multiverse of madness in his upcoming sequel. And lest we forget how the Ancient One set that truth bomb up: “Arrogance and fear still keep you from learning the simplest and most significant lesson of all.” It feels like Sylvie knows something very important that we don’t, and her own “glorious purpose” goes beyond selfish aspirations.
Loki might be a little closer to shrugging off his self-absorbed nature than Sylvie realizes. In my favorite part of the episode, he checks to make sure B-15 is okay when she’s left unconscious by her possession. This is a guy who just killed a bunch of people, just absolutely has nothing but contempt for people, and he’s concerned about the wellbeing of a Hunter who has shown him nought but derision. Loki isn’t holding out for a hero. He might just be on the path to becoming one.
Or maybe he was just lifting a weapon off her body and I’ll have to take it on the chin next week.

Following Loki's conversation and adventure with Sylvie, the so-called 'Loki-Variant', Loki returns to the TVA in an attempt to bargain with them to further their ultimate plan to overthrow the powers at hand. However, upon his return to the organisation, Loki discovers that things are not as he left them and one particular detail is especially off.
Mobius does not remember who he is.
With Loki's heart aching for the relationship that they were building, Loki enlists the help of Sylvie in order to attempt to reach Mobius through their shared power of enchantment and mind tapping.
