Eli Clark X Reader!
This is an Eli Clark/Seer X Gender Neutral Reader! (No Plan, Just Write!)
Note: I don't remember if there is a fountain in front of The Oletus Manor, but there is one in my stores!
You wake up in an unfamiliar place with no money of how you got here. In front of you is a lorg gate. You try to push them open, but they don't budge. You turn around to see that you woke up in front of some kind of mansion. You start walking toward a fountain. The closer you get to the fountain, you notice a man sitting on the edge of it. There is also an owl with him. "H-Hello sir, where am I?" You timidly ask & the owl hops closer to you. "The Oletus Manor and unfortunately, ones you're behind those gates, you can't leave this place." After he spoke, he whistled & the owl hoped back to him & hoped on his arm. He gets up & says: "We should head inside so you can meat the others. I'm Eli Clark, by the way!" "I'm Y/N." "Nice to meet you, Y/N!" "You too Eli!"
He opens the door for you & you're greeted by an overwhelming number of people. After a lot of them introduced themselves, someone said that it was almost time for dinner & they showed you to the dining room. You decide to sit next to Eli. "Does my owl not bother you?" He ask as you sat down. "I like most animals, so no." He doesn't say anything, but you see him smile at you. "h-hello, you mind if I join you? Names Matthias Czernin." "Yes, you can." Matthias sits next to you. A guy with mesy blond hair walks over to & says: "Hey there cutie~, can I sit with you?" A man with an old black eye pushes him away & says: "You are such a perfect, Florian! I'm going to sit across from you so he can't, ok? ... Oh, Names Luca Balsa!" "..ok, thanks Luca." "No problem!" Luca says with a smile. "Hi, Names Demi Bourbon! I'm gonna do the same as Luca, K!?" She says as she sits next to Luca. "K, thanks Demi!" "Don't mention it!" She quickly replies as she sit next to Luca. "Hi new kid, Names Tracy Reznik!" She says as she sit next to Luca.
You have a pleasant time talking with all five of them, especially Eli. After dinner, Eli shows you to your room. "Well, here we are." He says, stopping in front of your door. "I hope you are able to sleep well tonight." "Thank you and good night, Eli!" You close the door & thing to yourself: "I wonder what he looks like without the mask on." You crawl into bed & fell asleep relatively easily. The next day, you eat breakfast & lunch with the same people. After lunch, you went outside for some sun & fresh air & sat on a rock. You hear something land next to you. You turn to see Eli's owl. You pet the owl's haed. "Nine day, isn't it?" Eli ask as he sits on the ground next to you. "It is." You say, still petting the owl. You spend many weeks like this, but, deep down, you want to be closer to Eli.
One day, Luca & Tracy sew you walking alone, so they approached you & ask at the same time: "Do you have a crush on Eli!?" "What!? What makes you think that?" You ask them. "You try to talk with him more than anyone else!" Luca says. "And you pet his owl whenever you get the chance!" Tracy chimed in. ".. if I say yes, will you promise not to tell anyone or intervene?" "Of course!" They say that the same time. "Thank you guys!" A few days have passed after that conversation with them, & you decided to confess to Eli, but, for most of day, your nerves get the better of you. You are almost done eating dinner when you finally are ask Eli: "h-hey Eli, can we talk in private after dinner?" "Of course, Y/N!" He quickly replies & you look up to see Tracy & Luca giving you thumbs up. After you both finished eating, he ask: "So,.. where do you want to go?" "My room."
You have both spent time in either rooms, so you hoped that he couldn't tell just how nervous you are. He follows you into your room & closes the door. "So, what's on your mind Y/N?" He ask as his owl lands on your nightstand. You can't turn around to face him. "I-I h-have fellin for you Eli! I-I Love you!" The room fells quiet for a while before you hear him walk over to his owl & then you. ".. you mean it?" "Yes Eli, I do-" You say as you turn around to see him without his mask or hood on. His blue eyes staring into yours. "Can I kiss you?" You ask him. He pulls his hand on your chin, making you lift your head a little & he leans in to passionately kiss you. You rap your arms around his neck & lean into him. He eventually pulls away to give you air & you ask: "can you stay here with me tonight? can we cuddle?" "I'd love to, Y/N." You climb into your bed & Eli climbs in after you & Spoons you.
End!
My other Kin! It's only 9:18pm!

So I got this anon message on curious cat
And I ended up writing an insane person essay on Luca, Alva, Herman, and class perceptions and economic considerations in roughly IDV’s canon era. It got too long for curious cat. I’m deeply embarrassed. You can read below the cut.
So to start with I agree with you anon but you’ve given me the opportunity to be so annoying about history and my Luca head canons so I want to take it.
I don’t think Luca grew up rich, despite growing up with an (likely) aristocratic last name and the *appearance* of nobility. From everything I can tell, Luca’s family was like upper middle class, or lower upper class; I suspect someone in Luca’s family (likely on his mothers side) had a background in some industry that allowed them to become very rich, or else were part of the hereditary landed gentry (no titles themselves, but related to a titled family). Herman also seems to come from this class, though the sense I get is that his family had a better reputation but less money than mama Balsa’s. With that distinction made, I think there’s a heavy implication in the lore that rather than provide appropriately for young Luca and Mama Balsa, Herman spent their money on his projects, neglecting not only the emotional aspects of being a father and a husband but also all financial responsibility. Luca grew up in high society, with his parents having connections, but much much less income for anything to do with them than would be expected of their class. Not only would this have made things difficult at home (paying servants wages would become hard in an era where nobility wasn’t expected to fend for themselves, as well as maintaining an residences or even potentially putting food on the table), this would have taken a huge toll on mama Balsa socially—appearance dictated *a lot* as I understand it in Victorian society, and any perception of shabbiness or debts would have slowly closed all social doors for mama Balsa.
And while you’re right, I think Mama Balsa would have had fewer options for recourse (women’s property rights were only reformed historically in a meaningful way for married women after the games would have already started), Luca would have had issues too. The hit to his reputation when word of his father spending all their money would have been difficult to over come even as a man, and would have shut the door for a lot of opportunities (if Herman is so reckless with money why should Luca be trusted? No one likes a scandal). The lack of funds would have made higher schooling difficult if not impossible, if for no reason then they’d be unable to pay for it. It’s no wonder that Luca ran away after his mother died and started using a different name from Herman’s—better to be broke but no one from no where with no baggage than to be broke and the known son of an scandalously irresponsible man.
And none of that’s even touching on the emotional neglect. Luca grew up without a father, and with the knowledge that he would never be as important to his father as his projects. Luca grew up watching doors close for him and his mother as his father spent and spent and spent their money on things he was never around to explain. Luca never got to know Herman, and only felt his absence as the horrible weight of choices he never had any say in. And then those choices killed his mother. No wonder Luca fucking hates him yknow?
And Herman never mentioned anything about his home or family life, so Alva didn’t know. He had no idea their research was being funded with the food from Hermans sons mouth But Alva’s work for years is implied to be financially dependent on Herman (see Alva’s deductions, with Herman sending Alva funding; Alva, btw, is implied to be very newly middle class in his deductions, and this is already an insane person essay before I get into the class difference between Halva and power differential that would involve) and Herman made sure that Alva felt responsible for his ideas and for supporting Herman emotionally, and made sure he knew that he blamed Alva for his problems in the end. So Herman did just as much of a number on Alva in the exact opposite direction. It’s interesting, and a tragedy, and it’s fascinating how Herman is so directly the cause of both Alva and Luca’s problems, and how that set them up for their own tragedy going forward.

Love Languages ~ ♪

part 1 of what love language would they have <3
➜ Luca Balsa (prisoner)
Acts of service! he loves being helpful to you, in any possible kind of way.
He’d help you out with your tasks, try to give solutions to your problems, or maybe even try to cook something for you… anything that would cheer you up!
➜ Aesop Carl (embalmer)
Quality time. Aesop is not exactly the extroverted one, and he is also pretty hard to read sometimes. Even though he can be really awkward when it comes to show his affection for you, he deeply values the time you spend together with him. He might not be that talkative most of the times, but just enjoying each other’s company is more than enough to make him happy!
➜ Victor Grantz (postman)
Words of affirmation. As it’s well known, Victor is not the best at talking out loud, he expresses himself trough his letters; which leads me to believe that he would be more than delighted to write you a lot of those!

hello alva lorenz fan. in front of you is a test where you must share your interpretation of alva's feelings/treatment towards his past with the balsas in full nuance. you have 4 hours before the shark tank beneath you rises. if you mention anything about alva or luca feeling an inherently familial or romantic bond towards the other first and foremost you will be dunked into the tank. good luck

Actually u keep mentioning the stageplay and im curious like does it follow the game story (if te game has one???), is it like an og sidestory or smth. I mostly know about it from you ASDJKNDSVÑJ (and i know nothing of alva so i cant. Really say much👍)
not quite actually! they basically threw everyone (hunter and survivor) in the same room together and made everyone interact with each other if the plot needed it but they do re-enact how the game works - the people behind the stageplay wrote the story slightly different but the creators of the game permitted them to make their own spin of the story :) its actually really good! though what made me really love the stageplay is their "abridged" version of an episode (this goes for all eps) which is basically just a comedy. (if you saw me spam pics of stageplay, its when they all wear tracksuits) it just made everyone so much more lovable to me and gave me a fresh new opinion of characters i never really minded much :3
like you know this stageplay did shit to me when i started crushing on luca balsa/prisoner yeaheyeahsdsy OUUFHHG🪦🪦🪦🪦
BUT BASICALLY YES OG SIDESTORY. REALLY GOOD!!!!
#i also really love the comedy because they make a lot of meta jokes like shit you'd know if you played the game its so funny AKSKSHSHAKSJAJ#GENUINELY ONE OF MY COMFORT MEDIAS AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE I FIND MYSELF MAKING A LOT OF TIMESTAMPS HAHA#the issue rn is that they're very restrictive in distributing the play cuz its only for japan ggrrrrr#anyways i know you don't know alva i should've phrases my question better (i got too excited ehe) what do YOU think of him that made you -#- draw him 🥺 /t WKWKWKWKDJS#~ mailbox#yomiel tag

Identity V characters as Music
(I did skip some because I had no idea what to do for them. Also Major spoiler warning)
Masterlist
Survivors
Emily Dyer (doctor)
Nurses Office by Melanie Martinez.
For obvious reasons
Freddy Riley (Lawyer)
The Fine Print by The Stupendium
He mentions in his backstory that he hopes to find a better job than the "menial" job he has with a low wage.
Kreacher Pierson (Thief)
Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson
He literally steals parts from the ciphers.
Emma Woods (Gardener)
Dandelions by Ruth B.
A happy song for a happy character. (Emma is literally so cute, she deserves it)
Servais Le Roy (The magician)
Circus by Brittney Spears
Where do we find magicians? A circus...
Martha Behamfil (Coordinator)
Bang! by AJR
Martha has a gun. That's it.
Fiona Gilman (Priestess)
W.I.T.C.H by Devon Cole
I was gonna go with Dragula by Rob Zombie but that felt too aggressive for Fiona.
Tracy Reznik (Mechanic)
Puppet Boy by Devo
It has the cheerful sound to it like Tracy does but I chose this song because I love her mechanical dolls (they underrated).
Vera Nair (Perfumer)
Francis Forever by Mitski
I feel like this song sums up how Vera felt after murdering her sister.
Kevin Ayuso (Cowboy)
Country Girl by Luke Bryan
I gave him the most southern song I could physically think of.
Margaretha Zelle (Female Dancer)
Liquid Smooth by Mitski
I think this song shows how Margaretha felt and how she saw herself just before coming to the manor.
Sergei (Weeping Clown or Joker)
Cigarette duet by Princess Chelsea
This song is pretty much a nutshell of when Sergei was having problems with Margaretha and was trying to convince her to stay with him.
Aesop Carl (Embalmer)
Coraline Opening Song
If you paid attention to when the other mother is making the doll then you can see when she lays the great aunts doll on what looks like a kit of some kind then you can see that it's an embalming kit. (My favorite movie song for my main)
Norton Campbell
Wolf in Sheep's Clothing by Set It Off
I saw somebody use it in an edit when he attacked Orpheus and Melly so I think this song fits.
Patricia Dorval (Enchantress)
Come Little Children from the Hocus Pocus 1993 film
I always got the vibe that Patricia is very family oriented and tries to avoid social conflict when she can so a peaceful song like this literally being sung by a witch is something Patricia would enjoy. (I love this woman so much)
Mike Morton
Freak by Sub Urban
I couldn't really think of one without repeating so I decided on this one.
Demi Bourbon
Alcoholic Friends by Dresden Dolls
I think this was how she felt after her brother got the invitation to the manor.
Victor Grantz
Message man by Twenty One Pilots
I think this song fits him because I'd imagine he's very observant since he's so quiet so not a lot of people know much about him but he knows a lot about others.
Andrew Kreiss
Tears to Shed from the Corpse Bride film
The movie is about death and the song is about comparing yourself to others. Nothing else fits quite like this one does. (I can't describe how much I adore Andrew)
Luca Balsa ("Prisoner)
Welcome to the Internet- Bo Burnham
I feel like Luca matches the overall chaotic vibes this song has and he would probably explain the internet just like Burnham did (very quickly and kinda passive aggressively)
Melly Plinus (Entomologist)
Entomologist by GHOST
Need I say more
Edgar Valden (Painter)
My Ordinary Life by The Living Tombstones
This song sounds happy like Edgar
Ganji Gupta (Batter)
The Sports Wii theme song
This is what he gets for beating up my poor Geisha during rank
Anne Lester (Toy Merchant)
Pogo- Living Island
A cheerful song because she deserves it (I have a soft spot for Anne mains)
Ada and Emil (Phycologist and the Patient)
Dark Red by Steve Lacy
I love their relationship so much
Orpheus (Novelist)
Satisfied by Marina and The Diamonds.
I don't know, just seems fitting.
Alice Deross (Journalist)
Ramalama (bang, bang) by Róisín Murphy
If you've ever heard this song, you know exactly why I chose this song.
Hunters
Leo Beck ( Hell Ember)
We'll meet again- Vera Lynn
This song is probably something he would listen to on repeat to hope that it will help him reunite with Emma. (I'm gonna cry)
Jack (The Ripper)
Run Rabbit Run by Flanagan and Allen
I have a feeling that he's one of those killers that taunts his victims so this song fits.
Violetta (Soul Weaver)
Spider's Web by Melanie Martinez (my favorite portals song)
She's literally a giant spider. (And I love her for that)
Michiko (Geisha)
Washing Machine Heart by Mitski
Michiko just wanted to marry the man the man she loved but it was ripped away by her lovers father. (I wanna give my main a hug so bad)
Joseph Desaulniers (Photographer)
Paparazzi by Lady Gaga
You saw this coming, don't lie to me
Burke Lapadura (Mad Eyes)
Rainbow Factory by Glaze
He works on machines and stuff. I don't know, I'm running out of ideas.
Yidhra (Dream Witch)
Puppet Boy by Devo
This is the only song I'm repeating because it fits so well.
Robbie (The Axe Boy)
Teenage Dirt Bag by Wheatus
I feel like it matches his energy as a kid with way too much energy and mischief in his little body.
Mary (Bloody Queen)
Where's your Head at? by Basement Jaxx
You could say she lost her head....I'm done.
BonBon (Guard 26)
Blow! By Ke$ha
His ability is that he can make these explosive thingies when he chair someone.
Ann ("Disciple")
Brutus us by the Buttress
This song was the first thing that came to mind when I saw her, obviously.
Antonio Paganini (Violinist)
Sex with a Ghost by Teddy Hyde
I feel like the "woman in the mirror" could be replaced by the devil he made a deal with.
Galatea Claude (Sculptor)
Breezeblocks by Alt-J
This perfectly describes how I think Galatea felt when her statue was destroyed by her father.
Percy (Undead)
Zydrate Anatomy by Alexa PenaVega, Paris Hilton, and Terrance Zdunich
Another song I can't really explain why but it feels right.
Grace (Naiad)
Siren by Kailee Morgue
Perfect for Naiad by the title alone.
Phillipe (Wax Artist)
Hidden in the Sand by Tally Hall
His backstory has always freaked me out a bit since he literally has a corpse covered in wax glued(?) to his shoulder.
Keigan Nicholas Keogh (Clerk)
The Principle by Melanie Martinez
I feel like Clerk would be the kind of person to subconsciously abuse her power like the principle does.
Alva Lorenz (Hermit)
Rat by Penelope Scott
Alva says he will never know the true answers to humanity so I feel like this song fits into that phrase.
Ithaqua (Night Watch)
Below the Surface by Griffinilla
This song was the first thing to come to mind for him so I'm gonna keep it.
Sangria (Opera Singer)
Ballad of Jane Doe from the Ride the Cyclone musical
Jane doe hits some of the highest notes in this song I've ever seen in a musical and I just feel like Sangria would really like this song.

College student Anami Eimi begins her career in digimon research, hoping to help digimon and humans understand one another. When she discovers caged digimon in her new lab, she contacts the Japanese Chosen, setting off a chain of events that force the Chosen and their digimon to reevaluate the dynamics of their partnership. This fic is set pre and post Kizuna, and is a mostly canon compliant expansion. It's a three phase story, the first starring OC Anami Eimi, then Izumi Koushiro, then Yagami Hikari. It explores the realities, challenges, and politics of digimon living on earth, and the nature of the Chosen/digimon partnership. Can the Chosen and their digimon find the infinite possibilities that will sustain their partnerships into adulthood? There are mentions of couples in this fic, but it's action/world expansion/plot driven, not a romance.”

Because his father was finally dead. But after his first day at university when he finds out that the man he thought his father killed was actually alive and was going to teach him more than just one course that he had, his world once again spirals around, but not in the same way as before. Alva Lorenz did not seem to like him much, and neither did Luca. But what can he do about it? Definitely not get himself into situations where he's forced to interact with the said man and find out more about him and himself in the process. And definitely not start to realize they have more in common than his father ruining both of their lives.”

Personal Luca Balsa Headcanons
honestly, I am writing this from scratch without any proper editing so I hope you don't mind. I'm new to the fandom so I don't know the "usual" hcs for luca but he lives rent free in my head so here are some that I personally think about way more often than not...
his speech!! he's canonically from a renowned family and he tends to speak in a noble or polite fashion, but I imagine he picked up some rough language from his time in prison. (this is how I explain my view of him being a gremlin okay)
adding to the first point, I love to think that he's more composed when talking to people but he speaks more harshly when he's focused on either working or being in a match. (ie cursing and stuff)
which makes for a very interesting vocabulary, I think! he can curse like a sailor and then say words like "yes, the juxtaposition of this and this... this is very inconsequential... mhm..." and other big words that op(me) can't think of rn
despite that, I think he's a kind person, and maybe a little playful if he's closer to other people. he can be a bit of a tease but he usually never goes over the line.
since he canonically has memory issues, I want to imagine he likes writing things down. his thoughts, ideas, information on other people, notes for his future self in case he forgets, etc. when he doesn't write something down, there's a high chance he'll forget about it.
(cw: eating disorder) THIS IS CANON HE FIXATES OVER WHAT HE LIKES. but yes I imagine he might forget the basic necessities when he's working, like eating. if there's no one to remind him, he might go for a day without eating.
he definitely rambles, especially when it comes to his inventions. this can Not be untrue. he will talk about his ideas, his creations, and etc until you get bored. he is aware that he tends to do this though so sometimes he tries to ask, and other times he slips into it without thinking.
he's physically inept and will probably get tired quickly from running across the map, but that doesn't mean he's completely incapable. I imagine that, if it was a competition, he would completely ignore his exhaustion and let determination and pure willpower carry him to the finish line.
I'm going to stop there for now. I love this man to bits and it's wayyyy too obvious that I project onto him more often than not. 🫶🫶

What’s an average day at the agency like?
“Well, my answer differs depending on if it’s a busy day or a slow one. Going with a busy one, it can be a bit stressful. Usually, I tend to keep myself busy with helping Mr. Detective during those times. Although, if he seems like he has his head screwed on straight enough to handle being alone, I go see if Lady Truth or Mr. Inference needs assistance instead. If not, I find myself a nice little corner and work on keys or even on the puppet my father left behind. Oh, how could I forget, on a rare occasion, I end up tackling a case by myself!”

So I got this ask on curious cat
And I had too much to say again, because Luca is my best boy and I unfortunately love character analysis. Below the cut is half a rambling essay on Luca Balsa’s flaws, unreliable narration in IDVs storytelling, and ultimately, how I liked his third birthday letter a lot.
So to start with, I’m not actually sure that much changed with regards to Luca’s character, or at least how I think of him, based on the information presented in his third birthday letter. I think we’ve always been presented with Luca’s flaws—we meet him when he is in jail for having murdered a man and causing an explosion that harmed others. We learned last year that he has a habit of mansplaining to women he just met, and cursing out people he thinks have wronged him in ways that imply they’re less than him. We knows he’s got anger issues, and we know he’s not particularly thoughtful even to new people.
But also, the letter is written by a character voice that we’ve seen time and time again takes the cruelest, most bad faith reading of any characters actions to seemingly prove that all humanity is inherently evil. Which the narrative also disproves! Idv gives us the context to see that there’s other information that strongly contrasts the way the experiment file writer thinks of each character, and in Luca’s case this is especially true. We’ve been given so much about how Luca is angry and reactive, yes, but that also he is an abuse victim dealing poorly with a new disability, not to mention arguably ptsd. Anger, lashing out, thoughtlessness—all of those are really human responses! The letter writer is wrong to take the bad faith reading of a very traumatized man reacting to being put through more trauma. By the same token I think it’s not quite right to frame Luca as a character who is either positive or negative. He’s very believable, very human, and very well written.
As for my general opinion on the letter, I really liked it! I think it’s really interesting that it looks like lucatracy started to clash because of differences of opinion on the stakes, and interestingly I think it’s because Luca’s experience was mostly in the realm of design and theory while Tracy had practical experience. I also like that the letter specifically discusses the brain damage and issues with cognitive function Luca has now, because the lore hasn’t always leaned into that. I like that it establishes that as a baseline at the top for our context as an audience; it makes it clear we’re supposed to read the rest of the letter through that lens, that this is a traumatized disabled man having a reaction to exposure to his trauma, and acting accordingly. The character voice of the writer doesn’t view it like that, but i really think we the audience is meant to. That’s good dramatic irony and tension imo. I also think it adds a lot that they hammered in how sensitive he is to betrayal, and how that caused issues in his game when he was faced with something that seemed like betrayal, apparently. That’s a really good detail that’s fascinating to incorporate into my view of Luca. None of that I think in the end makes him better or worse than I thought he was, and I sincerely hope people aren’t judging him too harshly for reacting in believable ways to the bad things that have happened and keep happening to him. I still love Luca the most of any character in this game, and am still excited to learn more as time passes.
