The Basic Skincare Routine

Hello, my fellow fellas’ todays blog post is specifically for you. Its all about your skin, yes! The skin you are in, I want you to know that you have skin too and you should take care of it; And it’s not feminine or something that emasculates you as a man it should empower you. So, first things first you should have a cleanser, cleansing your face daily is very important because your skin contains bacteria, oil, and sweat which causes acne and other skin conditions. Washing your face with a cleanser is a great hygienic routine that should be implemented in your everyday self-care routine. The hard part is finding a cleanser that works best for you. Next step after cleansing is toning, you want to use an alcohol-free toner because alcohol really dries out the skin which is not what you want. A toner is basically the first step to putting moisture back into the skin, because when you cleanse your face you strip all the oils and bacteria so a toner must be used first. The next step is to use a moisturizer. Moisturizers are very important for your skins vitality and it makes your skin glow and takes away dullness. Last but not least, always remember to exfoliate your skin two to three times a week with a chemical exfoliant after you cleanse your face with a cleanser. A chemical exfoliant is used to remove dry patches of dead skin to give you a more even and softer texture. A chemical exfoliant is either Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) or a Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA). More specifically an AHA is used to remove dead skin and it breaks up the bonds between dead skin cells, providing you with a new layer of skin cells. A BHA is used to remove excessive oils for my oily brothers out there this would be the best for you! For example, I use “L’OREAL’s Revitalift Bright Reveal Scrub Cleanser” with glycolic acid which is an AHA. Also don’t forget that too much sun exposure is not good for your skin no matter how dark or light you are. Use a SPF or a moisturizer with an SPF in the sunny months. This is the fundamentals of taking great care of your skin!
