(i do not know how computers (or much tecnology in general) works, so maybe this will make little sense. Anyway)

Here are some of my assorted headcanons on how code/stickfigures work:

• File -> stick

Files are the culmination of a stick, everything that makes them them. They manifest into/codify a being if/once moved into a suficient host-place (like Newgrounds, Stickpage, a CPU, etc)

Files are organized into what i call 'zones' (ex. zone:= apearance, zone:= memories, zone:= personality), that can (and do) interact and influence one another.

As the stick changes, goes trough life, their file changes with them, as them.

Damages to files and changes to files are not the same thing! Not only is it rare for your file to get damaged at all (they are, after all, not easily accessible) file damages are unnatural errors, and overwrites, and erasure or scrambling of zones. Not normal at all.

Damages to files range in severity, of course, but even small damages can have devastating consequences, depending on what zone(s) it affects. Its a unwilling, permanent, change to your very being. That is not easy (or majorly possible) to get over.

• Deletion

(Oh what weird gratification to have my deletion headcanon somewhat but not really confirmed in the recent q&a:)

When a stick is deleted, the conection/projection of the stick is deleted/cut, and the 'space' where its hosted/the file is ocupying is marked as empty. The file itself is not outright deleted, but over a short (seconds to a few minues) period of time, the stick's file is overwriten by other codes that vie/compete for that space

(i dont know yet how to incorporate the Blackfire attacks into this..)

• Animators

As far as its known, only Animators can create new files. Cursors - otherwise normal human Pc users - can interact with files, but not create them

Any and all Cursors and Animators can see, move, change, add and remove zones from these files as they see fit (if they know how to- Cursors specially tend to be ignorant to this ability of theirs), very easily. They do this without causing damage to the file 'cause they register as normal natural changes, even when theyre anything but.

Most often it doesnt even matter where your file is stored, if your person/manifestation/being is in their presence, the Animator/Cursor will have access to it

• Inert files

Inerte files: certain files have entire zones that can activate and deactivate when faced with specific or non-specific triggers. (Ex. Computer icons who activate their movement and personality zones and deactivate their shortcut-search zones when faced with a threat to thw computer)

It mostly applies to PC icons, game characters files, and otherwise spectator-interactable animations. Its rare for a stick to have a inert file type

Mostly, this happens on computers to save RAM

• Exception(als):

- Second is the host of his own file and the rygbs files, since the showdown.

This is not comum, nor a good idea. Having your file attached to your self/body (instead of a outside source, like Flash or Newsgrounds etc) means that any damage or change your body suffers, your code suffers as well, i.e. youd never be able to heal anything inflicted on you, and any injury will have catastrofic consequences depending on where in/what part of your file it hit. Its an incredibly precarious situation.

But. Second is an exception, because his code is able to resist damage, somehow, and heal itself.

- victim's file is (confusingly enough) spread all over the outernet barrier. It is not damaged or ripped apart, but the rightfull place of the code/file zones is simply scattered into a non-file shape. Its not condensed into one 'place', witch makes it both significantly more fragile to damage, and significantly harder to target

i'm sorry but i think it's kinda weird to call the ink adhd headcanon "quirky" when it's heavily implied by the creator herself (search adhd in comyet's blog)

To add clarity, I have ADHD and I'm well aware that it's implied by comyet. I also wanna state outright that this isn't meant to be any sort of mean, demeaning or bullying of you anon. I get where you got confused so I'm clarifying. I'm assuming this ask is in good faith and I'm responding in good faith. I also kinda ranted abit more than remotely nessesary so...

TLDR: I'm not calling ADHD ink hcs quirky to invalidate comyet's suggestions nor am I calling ADHD a quirky thing, I'm saying alot of people's "depictions" of their mental illness hcs (ADHD in this case) are just them being (neuro)typicalist towards ADHD people by only representing their "ADHD coded/headcanoned" characters as walking ADHD stereotypes and not doing an ounce of research about the illness they are trivializing. They want to make ink seem quirky, they are intentionally or unintentionally bigoted towards those with ADHD, and assume it to be "the quirky disorder" so they slap the label on there for whatever reason and further the stigmatization of this condition through misrepresentation.

They do this to make these characters more digestible to neurotypical pple (aka stereotypes that comfort them in devaluing these people to whatever flavor of " your faking and it's not that serious" best fits the condition) and to make them better fit these stereotypes that only benefit ableism/typicalism and further misinformation and harm.

But here's my full thoughts ⬇️👀

The point of me specifically calling the "ink has ADHD" headcanon "quirky" is because his ADHD is often treated by most as just a quirky character trait, often sanitized for people without it/erasing the negative side affects and it's easy to make your character just seem "quirky" by giving them a few positive ADHD traits while ignoring the serious negatives of this disorder.

I mention this hc (as well as error being seen as autisitic) because of how flipant people treat not just characters they hc with ADHD but also the real living people around them who have ADHD. When ADHD is dumbed down to "funny, excitable, hyperactive and forgetful" in harmless ways but never address how distressing, upsetting and destructive to relationships, goals, responsibilities and dreams of the real living people with it, they treat both the character, the hc and the disorder as "just being quirky" instead of a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes spikes of destructive activities, the total erasure of memories, violent and often upsetting impulses and thoughts and so so much more.

My post doesn't imply (at least to most who know) that ink, ADHD hcs for ink or ADHD itself is "quirky" or should be seen as "quirky". It says plainly that the way people treat this hc, and the subsequent disorder, as just being quirky because the way these hc are exercised is infantilizing and trivializing of this serious condition. Its the same way that people say all shitty characters have NPD or say anyone whose not super verbal and comes off a little odd or eccentric is autistic or people claim any character who shows fear has anxiety. Its the dumbing down and stereotypical and often outright +(neuro)typicalist/ableist undertones that often influence people headcanoning mental illnesses onto characters that they don't personally experience and/or have a very wrong/bigoted/short sided/bare bones understanding of it. They like their bigoted "version" because it's more digestible to neurotypical (who are often ableist or generally uninformed) people and those who don't have the condition, no matter how damaging, incorrect and infantilizing their depiction is.

( Side bar-This isn't to say wether or not comyet's ADHD implications on ink are good or bad representation/expressions. I haven't seen most/all of these interpretations but from the baseline idea, I can see how interpreting Ink's actions/personality as being adhd-coded can be true to life of some people with ADHD but I can also see things that make me squirm abit. I have more issues with error and autism assertions than ink and ADHD but it's a complicated topic and this ask is long enough. I can't judge comyet's actions if I haven't seen them so idk. Also, I don't think that every time someone gives and illustrates/writes/etc a character with an illness that they either have to show all the symptoms of said illness like a checklist or they can only depict these headcanons with all the doom and gloom and the bad side of it and none of the good to be "good depictions". Obviously there's nuance and grey space here, just don't point to white or black and try to gaslight us that it's grey.)

That's what I mean when I toss shade at some people's "quirky ADHD ink hcs". They aren't really ADHD hcs and they often just make him seem goofy and quirky when that's his personality, not the result of a serious mental illness and these "hcs" often feed into a bigoted and harmful stereotype with no basis in reality and often result in people trivializing those with this disorder as what they've seen in hcs ("your just abit forgetful, clumsy and have too much energy" type of dismissal of serious symptoms.). There's nuance but I'm not moving my stance that some of y'all's "mental illness/disorder and disability headcanons!1!" are just ableist stereotypes and outright harmful misinformation about these conditions poorly mascarading as "just a headcanon".

Like this isn't any different from headcanoning all your black characters favorite food as fried chicken or making all your transfem characters into perverts and sexual abusers or turning all your native characters into basically animals. Its just bigotry trying to pull an "I'm not touching you!" With "it's just my headcanon" as an excuse.
