Unwelcoming Return for Oracle’s Former Superstars

Last night was the first return for Codd and Cassina to Oracle since either being traded or leaving because of free agency. Codd was drafted #1 by Oracle in 2015 and Cassina was a goalie traded from the Lightning’s farm system back in the 2015 offseason. Codd and Cassina didn’t play until the second half of the season. Codd scored a hattrick in his first game against his hometown team the Lightning to lead the Sharks to a 3-2 comeback win. Cassina started his first ZSL game in relief of injured goaltender Joseph Robin who had an abysmal record during his career in Oracle. Cassina saved ten of ten shots he faced. Codd and Cassina are now part of the Royal Emperors squad and have put up amazing stats.
Oracle fans already had hate signs lined up and jerseys with Codd’s number on it and an “X” with the name “Traitor.” From the start we already knew things weren’t looking well for Cassina and Codd once they stepped out. During warmups they started chants saying “We don’t need you.” They also were throwing jerseys with their names on the field. Codd and Cassina clearly saw all the bashing going on, but they went along with it and warmed up just as they normally would during a regular game. They started cheering extra loudly when they left the field to get ready for the game.
Adversity Faced By Codd and Cassina
The chants wouldn’t stop during the whole game. They started a chant accusing Codd of being bisexual but that only made him play harder. Oracle started the game by having six shots on goal and Cassina made saves that no other goalie could make. Cassina and Codd played better than you would ever imagine! Cassina ended up saving seventeen shots and Codd scored all five goals for the Emperors. No matter how much they showed the Sharks fans that they were better than them, they still chanted in fact louder. The question is will this bickering continue every single time the Emperors come to town?
