Would you consider yourself to be religious, or do you wear cross necklaces simply as an outfit accessory?
I’m not religious persay, but I absolutely adore the anthropology of religion and Christian theology in specific (I don’t yap about it quite as often because I unavoidably sound like I’m leading a Bible study every time. But it’s a big interest 😅). I collect rosaries and regard them all as little works of art, despite my… criticism of the doctrines they’re associated with.
I’m also just a stereotypical goth. Cross/ crucifix imagery in the goth scene has less to do with religion itself, and more to do with the sacred “memento mori” of it all (and as an ode to gothic architecture).
