Aaaa it's so hard to pick!

Comedy-wise? This line from Blocked (Aquarian Age)

There was no Kaname pinning him to a bed on a nice beach. Instead, there was only John Cena.

Romantic/steamy/fluff? A line from Slitherfuck and Metalface (Fairy Tail)

Kissing him with a fervor, as if he could express everything ever unsaid by pressing his mouth to his mate's.

Angst? This late-fic line from The Hiraethean Prophecy (pandfandom crossover)

There was no one else of his ilk there who could pull his mental plug and whisper promises of peace to the long-broken pacifist.

💘 Is it easier to write angst or fluff?

Considering the amount of angst I write... probably angst lmao. Though I do like writing fluff when I have the energy for it. Gotta give the tortured blorbos a soft moment like a lil smooch

What's your grade on the trope of using Japanese honorifics in English fics?

Fanfic trope grade: C

It's... okay. I don't mind it, especially if it's well done or a comedic/specific honorfic that can't be translated well. But it has to be done the entire time, can't just be thrown in randomly to a fic without a specific reason or else it's like a shovel to the face. Super jarring, yeah?

How I feel about this character: this is my son and he deserves happiness ;-;

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Gajeel 100%, Laxus sometimes, occasionally Lucy or Levy depending on the moon phase and time of year. He and Midnight are exes, though they're on good terms.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: I like his relationship with the other Sorciere. "These guys are basically my annoying siblings. I constantly have to pick up after them which I don't mind because i care them. Don't insult them because i care them that's MY job."

My unpopular opinion about this character: He's not human and his pointy ears are NOT a symptom of dragonification. He might be a demon or he might be an elf, or another race that hasn't shown up yet.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I love Kinana and she's cute as hell but I wish she had stayed a snake, her secretly being a person serves no narrative function and kind of detracts from Cobra's character imho.

Favorite friendship for this character: I like his friendship with Jellal, because it's a lot of figuring out where they stand with each other after everything that's happened. HOWEVER Jellal knows that Cobra is honest and usually gives needed and thoughtful criticism, and Cobra is all too happy to tell Jellal when his head's getting too big. Which is always.

My crossover ship: Not a romantic one, but I like my other main son Naoya and Cobra being like... brothers. Though between Cobra, who hears thoughts and souls, and Naoya who is a literal empath that subconsciously loves to profile people, nobody around them has any mental privacy.... and are also subjected to the worst stupid jokes imaginable.

When I started shipping them: Been on this ship since 2012 babey!!!

My thoughts: punk bfs w/ a lot of chemistry, they've both been through plenty of traumas in their own lives and sorta understand where the other is coming from...... (also this ship is how i met you @zephiraz my loving partner of 8 years *heart eyes emoji*)

What makes me happy about them: they're not pretty boys except for when they want to be (SO much eyeliner and hair products, their bathroom is a MESS), their relationship feels natural for them, they very lovingly insult each other yet they also don't let the other get away with shit, but also sometimes they're just content being lazy gay snakes dragons together

What makes me sad about them: they deserve happiness but shit keeps happening, who would have predicted that past misdeeds would have future consequences :(

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: I guess if Cobra's dialogue is hard to distinguish from Gajeel's? His vocab does get more relaxed post-timeskip, but not that much,,,,

Things I look for in fanfic: .... new fanfic. There's 15 works on AO3 and 4 of them are from ME. FFnet is practically just me.... oTL

My wishlist: More fic or art in general? Maybe some more canon teamups? <:3c

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Laxus x Gajeel x Cobra polyship... it's technically not just them ;)c

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: I like most ships with him, but I don't really have a favorite?

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: I like his relationship with Katara. Especially when they pick on each other, because I will always be tired of the "siblings always get along perfectly" trope in fiction

My unpopular opinion about this character: He's obviously bi, but is a little nervous about the whole liking boys part bc of his upbringing. That being said, it's something he definitely gets over later in life.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish caffeinated beverages existed at that time period, because he definitely seems like the kind of person who should not consumer caffeine because then he sees all the time all the time

Favorite friendship for this character: Him and Aang are always fantastic idiots when it's no braincell day and it's great

My crossover ship: Sokkoya. (Sokka x Naoya Itsuki) It happened because of the rp that originally inspired Hiraethean Prophecy, and is one of the "canon" ships in the panfandom crossover fic version. :3x

High school, specifically? No. I don't like plain high school settings, they're not very fun on their own... If there's a fantasy element thrown in? Maybe.

But an au setting where adult characters meet as kids? And they get along so well and grow closer and they have happier childhoods than in canon? That's some good shit 🥺🥰

But I also like some musical numbers to imagine scenes to. “Monster” and “Dangerous to Dream” from the Frozen musical are both amazingly good songs for angst (I know, I know, Frozen, but trust me on this). “They’re Only Human” from the Death Note musical is good, too. “I Know Those Eyes/This Man Is Dead”, “Every Day A Little Death”, and “Hell To Your Doorstep” from The Count of Monte Cristo are good in some contexts. And the Tangled TV series is full of fantastic musical numbers.

It was a little, sudden bounce on the mattress that woke Gajeel. It could only mean that it was 1:37 in the morning and his bedmate had been spooked awake by the same thing as always.

It was confirmed as Cobra, in a very tired and body-is-awake-but-head-is-not voice asked: “Did you hear that?”

“I’m tellin' you, I’m haunted,” Gajeel rumbled, half-asleep. “‘S just the ghosts again.”

Gajeel didn’t need to be facing Cobra know that it was an unamused and exhausted look that he felt on the back of his head.

“It’s the heating vent,” Gajeel said with a yawn. It was always the heating vent. He rolled over and hooked an arm around Cobra, pulling him back down under the covers. “Yer always so jumpy.”

Eventually Cobra settled, his frame relaxing. “You’d sleep through the house being on fire.”

Cobra rolled his eyes. “What are you? Five?”

“Out of five, maybe.”

“More like one out of five stars,” Cobra started, “Heavier than expected. Lazy. All the silverware went missing-”

Decided to do the ship meme chart with my balverine OCs. Some facts about them:

They have been married for around 150 years

Al is really really tall in human form, his balverine form is even bigger and rivals some houses (some rumors say he was turned by a strain closer to the Balvorn, others would say he’s just big so his balverine form is also big)

Al was originally from Snowspire Village, Northern Wastes

Nadine was originally from Sweetwater Trees, Samarkand

They met by chance at Howling Halls

Al showed Nadine how to shapeshift

Purple is Nadine’s favorite color, so Al wears touches of it

Nadine loves her tol stiff husband even though she pokes fun at him in front of others

7. What do they get up to on a night out?

Typical nights out include seeing a new movie the very night it comes out, (so that Cobra doesn’t have to deal with accidentally overhearing spoilers), and eating so much food it’s hard to walk after. Occasionally date nights are interrupted by some kind of other shenanigan, usually Natsu wanting to fight or something. They have no idea how he keeps finding them.

18. When they fight, how do they make up?

Gently, because neither is really good at admitting they’re in the wrong when things get to the point that they actually fight. Small acts of showing the other they’re sorry and that they care.

22. Where does their first kiss happen?

In a dark, quiet forest under a full moon. They had been enjoying the night.

23. Where is their favourite place to be together?

Alone in their house. Fuck other people. Sometimes the bed, sometimes the shower/bath.

24. Where do they first have sex?

At a hotel/inn. The first time is incredible… and destructive, because 2 dragons going at it isn’t exactly soft.

25. Why do they fight?

why would they fight when they love each other Misunderstanding and stubbornness. Words that should have been said, maybe some words that shouldn’t have been, maybe words that were taken the wrong way.

26. Why do they need to have a serious chat?

Dangerous secrets that should have been shared. Each has their own share of them, some more secret than others due to someone’s pointy magic ears.
