INFINITE is approaching fifteen years in the k-pop industry (next year), which is no mean feat. They’re solidly in the second generation, debuting in 2010 with seven members: Sungkyu, Woohyun, Sungyeol. Sunjong, L, Dongwoo, and Hoya, the last of whom left the group in 2017. ♡: Who was your first bias?

♡: Who is your current bias?

hoya is always number one in my heart, despite him leaving the group in 2017 🥲 dongwoo and sungyeol are my tied for my faves after him

♡: What makes them your current bias?

hoya caught my attention from the beginning lol because back in 2011(!) i saw a gif or pic of him here on tumblr and thought that he was yunho from dbsk but then could not find it again, and for awhile i could not figure out who it was so this mystery was stuck in my mind until i finally figured out it was him. aside from his looks, i really liked his personality too lol hard work, ambition, earnesty and a biting wit are qualities that i admire in people even rn and hoya had that in spades. his perseverance in his journey to becoming an idol was very inspiring and moving to me (tw: child abuse, the tl;dr of it was that he wanted to pursue dancing and becoming an idol when in high school and ended up dropping out and leaving home after he had a physical altercation w his dad when they had an argument about his career goals. so he was basically homeless for awhile before he got accepted as a trainee. he also was told initially he wouldn't be able to debut due to having a stutter and then he basically trained himself out of it in a very short period of time without any professional help). he was also the ace of the group, even though dancing was (and still is) his passion, he also was a decent singer and rapper and actor (at least in reply 1997 lol, idk about his other roles. also his role in reply 1997 is literally revolutionary lol i won't say why bc spoilers but i recommend watching it if you like kdramas! he plays kang junhee)

♡: Who is your bias wrecker?

hm ig like i said above, dongwoo and sungyeol. both of them are genuine, earnest and funny in different ways

♡: Which member (s) are you currently obsessing over that aren’t your bias/bias wrecker?

i wouldn't say i'm obsessing over him lol but sunggyu has climbed up the list in the past year or so

♡: When did you first discover this group?

in 2010, when they debuted. 2010 was a time where you could easily know and keep track of everyone who was debuting when it was announced (which is wild to think about how different it is now and how the industry has become so saturated), but they also caught attention because they were being mentored by epik high who were and still are a pretty well known k-hiphop trio. i didn't become interested in them until 2011 though, because i didn't like the song they debuted with

♡: Have you ever been to one of their concerts?

yes, i've been twice. i had to look up the dates because it's been so long lol but the first time was in 2013 and the second time was 2016. honestly one of the best memories of my life

♡: What are some of your favorite songs by the group?

I am putting biases from the same group in the same poll so that I get a little bit less of well that's our overlap group, so I'm going to default to voting for that member and a little bit more do we bias the same people in groups. (Note: I know that in some cases I bias like half the group, no, I'm not going to narrow it down further.)

While this is not an exhaustive list of all my biases in all groups ever, I'm getting the point where I don't have as strong of opinions on active groups that I have biases on, so I'm just going to do 10 faves from disbanded and not active groups and leave it here.

Infinite comeback content roundup.

My fellow Inspirits, it has been a years-long, hard famine, and now we FEAST. In addition to the MV and the Dingo Killing Voice appearance, we have so far:

They went on a radio show which included a casual dance performance of "New Emotions," featuring Myungsoo being embarrassed and Dongwoo showing off

They also had a comeback livestream; I don't know if anyone's fan-subbed it yet. We're going to have to shower the translators with gratitude all over again

Suit dance performance. It is shocking how good they all look (and in the interest of retaining a shred of dignity I will not discuss Sungyeol's part).

Their (I originally typed "our") first M! Countdown performance in God knows how long, featuring decent camera work and a rundown of which members have been introduced to the "ending fairy" concept (Woohyun, Dongwoo, and Sungyeol)

plus official M2 "fancams": whole group, Sunggyu-focused, Woohyun-focused, Myungsoo-focused

and going on M! Countdown means also doing a smile-laced content-free interview with whippersnappers

if you're going on music shows you need a fanchant, and thus we have a fanchant guide, in which Dongwoo BELLOWS his way through the prechorus and Sungyeol absolutely will not stop doing the choreo no matter what the circumstances

I honestly don't know what this is, but it is supposedly getting English and Japanese subtitles at some point, and in the meantime we can enjoy them remembering "Be Mine"

They appeared on a show called "Buddy Into the Wild" that involves them canoeing and... rolling around in mud?

Also @fyeah-infinite (who is going to be much better at keeping you up to date than I am, follow them) has suggested that they might be going on Knowing Brothers for the first time in six years; I have no reason to doubt them but I haven't seen that referenced elsewhere yet.

And we are being promised some kind of in-house Infinite Company comedy; it may only be one episode, not a series, but who's complaining at this point, really. (Except maybe Sungjong; I thought it was established fact how sick he was of the lemon candy joke years ago.)

I am terrible at watching K-dramas, y’all. I am terrible at watching scripted television to begin with, which is a story in and of itself, and only got through High School: Love On with a considerable amount of whining. Even Extraordinary Attorney Woo, charming as it is, hasn’t been able to keep me still for more than five episodes. And if this has 40% of the quality of Extraordinary Attorney Woo we’ll have to count ourselves lucky.

I will be watching this.
