I'm in shambles after jf2 episode #27 quite literally screaming, crying, throwing up

ANYWAYS I have some thoughts about it (spoilers ahead of course)

this is about rythian's audio log that played during the episode obviously

but mainly about some questions that have been swimming in my brain since watching it:

where are rythian and zoeya when he created the audio log? logically, they would have to be in the realm of twilight, allegedly, since that is where they left off in blackrock chronicles. if not, where else would they be? adventuring?

this leads to another question, are they trapped in the twilight forest? if so, is it of their own choice or is there an external force preventing them from leaving? A likely chance would be the enderman as they are an infestation problem throughout the realm. and if it's their choice are they protecting the realm from said creatures by keeping zoeya on the throne?

did harry intentionally added botania for this specific reason, or did he need a reason for the rest of the jaffa crew to, at least, interact with it? at the beginning of the series harry mentioned he added botania for the sole purpose to invite ravs in. throughout the series they haven't touched a speck of botania except clear away mystical flowers to build. unless it was all an excuse to use against lewis and duncan as well as the audience to set this whole thing up from the start.

why did rythian request help to get a black lotus flower? this leads back to my second question, possibly because they are trapped and rythian is unable to get it himself for zoeya. and if they are in the twilight rythian's magic abilities are limited, where he cannot tap into his own reserves to use magic but instead rely on magical artifacts or studies that produce magical energy on their own. if we're getting technical, the botania mod did not exist in ycp where the third season of blackrock took place. it didn't even exist in moonquest! the mod itself was first used by the yogs in the resonant rise 3 modpack that was used for flux buddies 2 and cornerstone, which rythian played around with in the latter. that means the twilight forest they are in doesn't contain any botania related materials, unless, according to blackrock lore, it's possible the world has shifted at some point to allow botania to flow through more. then what's stopping rythian from getting the black lotus himself if the materials are at his disposal? he could not defeat himself.

another meta question also related to the question above, did harry choose the item or did rythian. because if it was rythian oh ho ho, you edgy bastard /aff the flower itself and method to obtain it fits very well with rythian according to the ftb wiki to obtain the black lotus flower is as a drop from the guardian of gaia, probably "the strongest warriors in the land," (EP #27 AUDIO LOG TRANSCRIPT) the jf2 crew would need to fight to get said flower, unless they plan for a different warrior(s) to guard it. If they don't and stick to the guardian of gaia well... "It takes the appearance of the player's skin, but much darker," (FTB FANDOM WIKI). imagine rythian trying his damndest to defeat the guardian of gaia but can't seem to kill it with everything he's got (while trapped in the twilight). is his strength failing him? not being able to use magic preventing him from reaching his goal? or is there something more to it. I'm guessing this is the reason he sounds depressed in the audio log. rythian wants to so badly get this gift for his... friend. rythian uses his own advice that he tells the jf2 crew, "There’s no shame in recognising when the enemy is at an advantage and finding a different way to accomplish your goals,"(EP #27 AUDIO LOG TRANSCRIPT), so he reaches out to anyone for help, and I mean anyone. canonically, rythian and harry have never met, rythian sees xephos as a neutral party, and last I remember he has a non-aggression pact with lalna...

one final question. BRO HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN "FRIENDS" RYTHIAN PLEASE

hey guess who forgot to consider the whole ordeal with lalna!! I was so rythian focused apologies(my blorbo <3). spent the whole day thinking about this since I got two related lalnable asks sent to me this morning and could not answer until I got home from work

from a technical standpoint would it be possible for the gaia guardian to appear as lalnable? Yes, if duncan is wearing at least a chestplate to hide the red pen throughout the fight and hopes it doesn't break. I personally haven't fought the guardian of gaia so not sure how the copying appearance thing works with multiple players, probably based on who summons the guardian

but god if they do it for lore reasons, the fandom will be shook

I'm fine that it wasn't canon, it's fun to speculate and y'all got to ride this high with me. there was a very high possibility they wouldn't have used the guardian of gaia anyways because they were heavily under equipped to fight a boss w/ 160 hearts per player (so a total of 480 hearts). also that mf hits like a damn truck. this was also their first quest outside of the main quest given by jaffa hq so it needed to be on easy mode

mainly confused why rythian mentioned- HOLD ON A DAMN SECOND, looks through transcript again, "I’ve been told the Black Lotus is guarded by the strongest warriors in the land." I JUST REALISED WHO TOLD RYTHIAN THIS

originally I assumed it was jaffa hq, but no, it has to be zoeya. it has to!!! she's always exaggerated the reasons for a grand adventure, this is definitely one of them /aff. unless rythian was being a troll and taking a page out of zoeya's book to fuck over lalna for fun. but he sounded so genuine, especially when he expressed his gratitude!!! though consider, what if they were both in on it teehee

god I love this detail where lalna would see the gaia guardian as a darker version of himself though he does not interpret it as lalnable since it is canon(?) that lalna clones do not know the existence of each other and of the the "original"

as the title suggests gonna be talking about the roles the yogs have in the au and their relation to each other. considering these guys as the main characters for now since they have the most content I've thought of so far lmao. but for sure most of them are set as main characters in the au. expect this to be revised in the future. also enjoy the bullet-points, I do not have the energy to write short cohesive paragraphs

welp they've interacted with botania a smidge. they're totally gonna do something with botania, especially with all those damn blacker lotus flowers. there's no way multiple flowers would be casually in some barrels without a reason, they're not even lootr crates. all they needed was one! a simple black lotus flower at that. there might be a step in the jaffa production process that involves botania. unless there's another tab of ftb quests they get to complete once the factory is up and running

yoglabs brry is so fun i hadn't heard that one somehow?? i've been going with the silly goofy 'an axolotl gained human(ish) form and wanted to Create Glorp' headcanon but yoglabs makes a fair bit more sense

i was always of the headcanon that xephos kept lalnable really locked down - like 'everyone other than me or honeydew who knows about it has a kill switch in the back of their neck' locked down. (the call to keep lalnable alive, even with the other lalnas and a master clone floating around - has always screamed sentimentality to me - so i think he'd wanna protect both lalnas in a messed up way, from each other and everyone else)

so a yoglabs brry with memories of their being some sort of drama where lalna got fired expecting things to be a Lot more awkward between Lalna and Xeph than they are. just enough that when he sees xephos react so badly to another lalna, after having privately admitted he was worried they were all clones -

it doesn't look great is what im saying

mainly a lot of shep's art has influenced my brain and a few others as well on the concept. could always combine both hcs :). axolotl becomes a humanoid due to yoglabs experiments, becomes an employee then goes off to make glorp

yeah that's so messed up and awkward, but we do love angst in this household!

hi!! sorry if you've gotten an answer to this, but the guardian of gaia reflects back the skin of the person viewing it, ie, xephos will see xephos, lalna will see lalna, brry will see brry, and so on

mmm I have not you are the first! that's another thing I considered but wasn't sure how to word it at the time. nice to know how it actually works now :)
