"Oh Melbourne, just look at you! Any time I feel sad I'm just gonna remember all of you. - You're making feel like I get to play a show for 96,000 people!"
Just preface this by saying I have no idea what I’m talking about and I’m doing this with the outmost respect and love and just because I’m so excited for TTPD, buuut I feel like Melbourne’s surprise songs are spelling the dissolution of the relationship, letting us know what the narrative in #ttpd is going to be.
Day 1: Red and You’re Losing Me: relationship not going well, feels like an ending but she’s trying to make it work (also we know the timing of when YLM was written - thanks Jack)
Day 2: Getaway Car/August/TOSOTD cheating involved, she forgives (this one was painfully obvious to me) - This is me trying: heartbreak, depression, struggle.
Day 3: CBBH/Daylight: took him back because she was in love. Teardrops on my guitar: I feel like this one is self explanatory.
I may be completely delusional, it’s a possibility lol, just had this thought and wanted to share
Taylor’s about to play the biggest show…like ever🥹 I’m literally so emotional…I’m so proud of you @taylorswift !!! you deserve everything! 🫶🏻🥹😽 my heart!!! @taylornation
“Tortured Poets was an album that, I think more than any of my other albums that I’ve ever made, I needed to make it. Like, it was really a lifeline for me, just the things I was going through, the things I was writing about, it was like - it kind of reminded my why songwriting is something that actually gets me through my life. And I’ve never had an album where I needed songwriting more than I needed it on Tortured Poets.”
from "this is falling in love in the cruelest way" to "my love was as cruel as the cities i lived in" and from "stumbled through the long goodbye" to "i'll tell you the truth but never goodbye", TAYLOR SWIFT THE WOMAN THAT YOU ARE
Taylor singing Red, announcing The Bolter edition, singing You’re Losing me and today doing a mashup of three songs that have cheating as a common thread and singing a song about mental health struggles. Girly is really giving us the whole theme of the album before we hear the album, and it’s going to be fucking heartbreaking.
