Why is mental health important to me? It was important for me to acknowledge what was wrong with me. It was important for me to realize I couldn’t lean on my confidantes anymore. One of them literally told me I can’t be your friend while your like this. My sister law said I probably hadn’t really finished grieving for my grandmother she was right I love you so much your wisdom is always on point. In therapy I realized in my family she was my rock and I really did miss calling her about everything. Tomorrow is your birthday and I still think about you and miss you. I take my mental state a lot more serious now. I’m aware of my triggers. I’ve been to a therapist several times before and all they wanted to do was prescribe me medicine. They weren’t about fixing my inside but rather letting a scab develop on my wounds. That wasn’t healing my wounds. Venting to my friends and family wasn’t working anymore I was living life in some what a cycle. A cycle only I ( ME 🤸🏾‍♀️ , SHE💃🏾 , HER💁🏾) had to break! I forgot to mention research your therapist. Make sure they specialize in what your needs are. Therapy won’t work unless you are ready. We all watched Insecure right what did Molly really get from therapy other than a break from work that could have really made her better.
