the half-assed terraformed moon in fool's gold got... big ass jackrabbits. like, medium dog sized. and they have... some sharp teeth now. they're also now omnivorous but the sharp bits are mostly to pierce through megacactus flesh so they can rip the blades off and carry them away like an anime girl late for class. they're still hunted for meat or because they're a nuisance (they will eat livestock if opportunity presents itself) but like how boars are hunted - there's danger, there, if you're not careful. the old human association of irritating, quick trickster has stayed, even if no one can remember what a jackrabbit is "supposed" to look like, anymore.
