17) Does your OC have a pet?

Jun got a shelter cat in his final year at penn state actually!!! named her mickey (like the mouse, bc he thinks he's funny) ((he's really not)) she's like? 9 years old? got abandoned by her old owners bc she was too loud (and that was because she was taken from her mother at just a couple of months and her new owners didnt bother to feed her according to what she needed) shelter took her in and then jun did because he collects abandoned kids from abusive settings wanted to do something good with his life + he was having a 'oh no!!! ill be out of college soon' crisis

zahra, no. the timing didn't check out. she wanted a dog when she was younger but she knew that she wouldn't be able to spare time to take care of one. after the nest she had enough problems of her own to deal with before taking in a pet.

24) What kind of sleeper is your OC? Light or heavy? What side do they sleep on? Do they like to sleep over or under the covers?

zahra sleeps on her side, not necessarily curled up, but completely under the covers. diagram for reference:

the reason for this is something along the lines of how she did not want to be left vulnerable while she slept at the nest. shes learning how to let herself be a heavy sleeper.

jun sleeps curled up, generally without sheets, because its somehow always too hot for him?? (i say his constant academic stress overheats his brain- you'd think that someone who's interested in psych would have better mechanisms to deal with it but nooo). he's also a pretty heavy sleeper.

tell me more about Zahra 👀👀👀 how did she realize she was queer? what are her feelings on Jean and Kevin? idk anything else you wanna yap about

okay so! it happened in pieces. first sign obviously was when em and her kissed (are we keeping that?) so for a while she thought she was a lesbian. then she was attracted to kevin after training with him + some on court bickering + hanging out with him in general and then she's like?? i thought i liked women??? they hooked up, raven style to "relieve the tension" but zahra definitely has remnants of feelings towards the both of them. now this left her confused bc she definitely had not experienced attraction towards anyone before and was convinced she wasnt going to anytime soon. but she doesn't rlly dwell on it for too long bc she has more important things (exy) to worry about. the story changed after she went pro. now zahra cant play exy enough to distract her, can she? while she's tossing these thoughts around in her head, she ends up getting close with one of her teammates (unnamed oc in the making) who actually ends up confessing his feelings for her. but quelle horeur!! she doesn't reciprocate them! the two of them choose to remain friends still and she eventually asks him how sexuality and stuff and he guides her through her journey of self discovery. does that make sense?

she doesnt like jean bc she believes the rumours + she wanted to be a part of the perfect court. sorry, that fierce loyalty to the ravens ended up manifesting like this

also i might just make a whole ass pro team for these lil guys. lets see how it turns out!

Short, classical answer: lesbian necromancers in space

Longer answer (trying to avoid spoilers):

There are 4 books:

Gideon the ninth

Harrow the ninth

Nona the ninth

Alecto the ninth (still has to come out)

It is set in a post apocalyptic future, where there are 9 houses (the nine planets of the solar sistem) ruled by necromancers. The Ninth House is where the locked tomb is hidden (it contains what is supposed to be God's doom.) The tomb is protect by the Ninth House, and more specifically by Harrowhark, the reverend daughter.

In the first book we follow Gideon Nav, a girl of the Ninth house that is trying to escape. Unfortunately for her, the Emperor needs new lyctors to fight by his side against a new menace, and he's calling the heirs of the Nine Houses and their cavaliers (sword-wielding bodyguards) to join him. They will have to do a series of trials to become Lyctors and serve as the Emperor's right-hand necromancers in wars against his enemies. Harrow forces Gideon to become her cavalier, and then stuff happens, secrets are digged up etc.

I am doing well! for the most part! school and life at large have consumed me entirely, as expected. big life updates include: new tattoo! new eyebrow piercing! said eyebrow piercing getting infected -> no more eyebrow piercing :( LMAO. I watched clueless for the first time ever (incredible) and kissed my first ginger boy ever (mid). AND I am going home for more than 2 weeks for the first time in 2 years which is WONDERFUL (esp considering where I’m from which I think you know??)

The lady that hit me wasn't going that fast, but still fast enough for me to be slammed into the ground. It wasn't as much scary as I am in disbelief of the situation.

It feels kind of surrealistic cause I remember the whole time frame from before it happened till I walked out of the hospital very clearly - I honestly should've been more hurt than I actually am based on how I landed and what parts of my body hit the ground.
