Nobara comforts her friend on the edge of his bed as he scrolls through your instagram page on his phone.

His two friends sat cross-legged on his bed as a never-ending stream of vibrant colours and countless pictures of your cat flashed by.

Over the course of a week the continuous reminder of Valentine’s Day followed Megumi like a persistent shadow. Not because he didn’t appreciate or love his girlfriend, but because of how bad he expressed the feelings that came along with being in a relationship. He and everyone around him knew he wasn’t exactly the most emotional or expressive person there was and the obnoxiously vibrant posters and hanging garlands around school didn’t exactly help.

Nobara wasn’t stupid, quickly catching on to his somber demeanor, recognizing the season and the pops of red and pink scattered throughout the hallways and she quickly connected the dots, a plan already starting to form in her head.

Thursday evening rolled around and unbeknownst to Megumi, his friends spontaneously showed up at his place and now here he sat, with Nobara taking the lead in ‘giving him advice’ on what to gift you to help express his true feelings while Megumi continued to scroll through your Instagram desperately trying to form some sort of idea for the ‘perfect gift’ for you.

"She's absolutely obsessed with cats, you know this! Imagine how perfect it would be to have an apron filled with adorable little tabby cats!" Megumi couldn't help but sigh, feeling like this whole thing was a complete waste of time. Valentine's Day was just around the corner, and he still hadn't thought of a gift for his own girlfriend. He couldn't help but wonder if he was failing as a boyfriend.

“Oh I know!” both Nobara and Megumi's heads snapped towards their pink haired friend with an audible crack.

“How about a personalized mug with your face? I remember seeing ones that say 'best boyfriend ever' somewhere before!" Yuji chimed in, eager to help.

He was doomed.

A delightful surprise awaited the boy as he walked through the school doors the next morning, hearing his girlfriend's sweet voice calling out, "Megs!" His ears perked up, eagerly soaking in the sound that resonated through the hallway.

There stood his pretty girl, wearing a perfect blend of pink with subtle hints of red, all brought together with bows, frills, and lace.

A smile unconsciously crept onto his face until his eyes gravitated towards the small neatly wrapped gift adorned with a bow was clasped tightly between your hands, held closely to your chest.

Skipping towards the boy adorned in his usual black attire, you quickly abandoned your bag by his locker as your arms wrapped around his neck in a tight hug.

Just the scent of your perfume was enough for him to forget the looming thoughts not too far behind.

You weren’t expecting much to come out of today, the usual really. Your mind was too preoccupied with thoughts of your gift, waiting till the end of the day to finally give it to your boyfriend.

But what did stand out was how affectionate he seemed to be - unusually so. The entire day consisted of back hugs, kisses to your cheek and the constant feeling of his eyes fixed on you through class.

And It wasn’t till the end of the day when you were both comfortable in your pyjamas and settling in your bed surrounding by a myriad of sweets and chocolate that your gift lying amongst them was picked up and placed on his lap.

“Go on! Open it!” He found it cute how excited you were, so excited in fact that you could barely sit still - squirming in your spot as you not so patiently waited on him.

Pulling on the ends of the bow, soon followed by the wrapping paper decorated with small cartoon dogs, revealed a small black box. Megumi’s gaze flitted between yours and the box a few times before lifting the lid to reveal the contents.

“You can’t be serious…”, inside laid a neatly placed bracelet. A dainty silver thing that held a small clear charm.

“It lights up when I touch mine!” To prove your point you swiftly pulled up the sleeve of your top, revealing your own bracelet - an exact copy. You placed a light kiss to your charm, watching as his lit up with a small white hue.

“I know you don’t like obnoxiously big or cheesy presents so I thought this would be small enough yet still shows how much I love you.”

Megumi couldn’t ask for anything more. His girlfriend, the only person he’s ever laid his heart so openly to before gifted him the most precious thing he’s now ever owned.

And also the most annoying. Because he already knew how it worked.

With that thought in mind he leaned back towards his pillow, his hand nestling beneath in search of a specific box, he soon placed his own wrapped present on your lap.

“Go on, open it.”

Not wasting any time, you quickly tore the paper and uncovered the box that lay beneath. Your newly manicured nails lifting the lid to show your own bracelet with its own clear charm.

Whipping your head towards Megumi you were faced with his neutral face, clearly not amused.

“Apparently I still suck at this gift giving thing,” after long hours of gruelling internet searches and YouTube videos, Megumi finally thought he’d found the one gift worth giving. A gift he could check up on you with — something not many people would’ve thought of.

But of course his very own girlfriend had the same thought. But the laughter that soon sliced through the silence cracked a smile on the poor boys face.

Leaning to place a kiss on his cheek followed by you making yourself comfortable on his lap, you managed to cackle out, “Well I think it’s endearing,” this led to Megumi raising his eyebrow in a ‘go on’ motion.

With a smile you continued, “well we both shared the same thought which I think is cute in itself especially since it’s long distance bracelets”

“When you put it like that, I guess it’s not so bad.” He mumbled out, a pink tint colouring his cheeks as his fingers busied themselves fiddling with the ends of your shorts. You reached for the second bracelet, adding it to your wrist to accompany the other before sliding Megumi’s pair on his wrist.

Kissing your bracelet and watching as his lit up, a lazy smile planted itself on your face, “makes you even cuter.”

DLN-000 Blues Light/Breakman

Blues goes by Breakman for basically all of the Wily Era and skips right over Protoman to go by Blues. Due to how his relationship with Rock develops in this au it just doesn't feel right to try and slip Proto in. Break continues to be a name that Rock specifically can still call him even after the switch in names.

He's buster is on his right arm.

Instead of using his faulty core as leverage for getting him to kidnap Kalinka, Wily uses Mega as leverage. This means he doesn't learn about his core still being faulty until after the Wily Era. Haven't decided if he learns about it pre or post Decommission Era tho

Helmet got broken by Mega post MM4. It gets repaired when Dr. LaLinde repairs him after that incident. She also repairs the visor on it, no those are not just his sunglasses. I kept forgetting his sunglasses when drawing him so they just don't exist anymore sorry.

His eyes are visible when his bangs are neat.

Early into the Epilogue Era Roll fixes his core. She can't completely fix all the damages but he's no longer dying and is able to live a much more comfier life now that he's got access to proper robo-health care

Stays weaponized, but rarely needs to use his buster and armor.

DLN-001 Rock Light/Megaman

Answers only to Megaman while under Wily's control. He does respond to Rock when used by Dr. Light and Roll. Post Wily has him slowly re-learning to be Rock. He still always responds to Rock from Roll. By Epilogue he is mostly transitioned back to using Rock. Blues is the only one who can call him Mega without causing distress. Bass calls him Megs and is the only one who does.

During the Wily Era his eyes are capable of becoming blue again in certain situations even while infected. This ability is lost by MM5.

His buster arm is his left arm.

Post Wily has his Copy chip removed, however he refuses to get the virus removed.

His arm was blown off by Roll. He refuses to get it replaced. Dr. LaLinde repairs it to the point where a new one can easily be attached should he change his mind.

He does eventually get it replaced but tears it off himself not long after. When he is finally able to get proper repairs for this, it is permanently sealed. To replace the arm would require entirely reworking his shoulder.

Early into the Epilogue, he has the Megaman armor removed from him entirely and any remnants of his weapons system is also removed. He is entirely un-weaponized. He still retains the virus.

DLN-002 Roll Light/Gigawoman

Roll hates the name Gigiawoman. It is the name given to her by the public. No one important actual uses it so don't expect to see it mentioned often. (Shout out to my friend Axo for the name suggestion tho) She stops using Megaman to refer to Rock very soon after he got fully infected by the virus. She calls Blues Break for the Wily Era and drops it the first moment she feels like she can get away with it.

She loses her right arm to Mega when she happened to encounter him on their activation day. She insists that her arm be replaced by a weaponized one and Dr. Light concedes. Her right arm is her buster arm.

A lot of the choices going into her weaponization is based on avoiding a repeat of what happened with Rock. Her base buster is stronger and her copy chip is altered and given an advanced anti-virus built-in. She is capable of holding up to 3 weapons indefinitely and make it a point to avoid copying new Wily bots when possible.

Her hair got damaged during the same encounter she lost her arm in. She requested that it simply be cut/shaved rather than replaced so she could have a visual reminder of what she was fighting for.

She is the de-facto leader during the Decommission Era, every bot in their group acknowledge her as the leader, even those that give a hard time about who should be leader will default to her lead when it comes down to it.

She makes it a point to not wear her helmet around Rock, hoping that it'll help him readjust to being Rock again.

She remains weaponized but rarely needs to use her buster and armor anymore.

"good fucking luck to megs and yoichi because i swear i just saw two back to back bachelorette parties walk in." he sighed before walking in stride with you, moving towards the tattoo shop.

"so, did you finally decide? because i think i'm convinced we should get the star and cloud combo." you spoke, pushing your phone in his face.

"i'm getting the cloud but you get the star." he said definitively, handing the phone back.

"ok but don't put yours in a weird place. put it somewhere normal." you rushed, pushing into the store while the small bell jingles and alerts nagi that someones entered the shop.

the store's atmosphere was calm and slightly cluttered, it kinda brought peace to you and the smell reminiscent of something you knew of all too well. you walked further into the store before seeing the front desk, vacant. nothing but the desk, a small couch and table set out in front of you. you scanned around for any sign of life other than the distant buzzing and light melody of a song that you had grown to love.

"is this shit closed?" chigiri wondered, his head swiveling around for some bit of information but before you can reply, a melodious voice rang out.

"can i help you guys?" he's leaned up against the doorway that seemingly led to specific, set-apart studios. the boy in the doorway sent your mind down a long, winding road of memories before you came back to reality.

you knew those steely gray eyes that were almost always low and bloodshot, covered by white hair that fell just right above his eye. it could only belong to one person. a person that you had grown apart from, yet you felt immediately drawn too.

"nagi?" you asked, ignoring his initial question. his eyes parted slightly larger than normal before falling to their low state.

"shit, y/n?" he asks, before taking in your appearance fully. platinum eyes rake your entire body before his tongue darts out to wet his lips. chigiri's eyes widen when he realizes who he is, everyone standing around in shock.

"nagi, what are you doi-" reo appears, glancing over nagi's outstretched hands.

"oh shitt, y/n? chigiri?" he speaks, pushing past them.

"no wayy, you guys work here?" chigiri starts, he smiles knowingly at you before returning his attention to the two men in front of him.

"own it." nagi throws in, moving out of the doorway and closer to the two of you. his gloves pulled off and discarded in the trash can near the desk.

"perfect. wanna hook an old friend up?" you ask, phone pulled up to the tattoos that you and chigiri decided on. reo looked slightly nervous, almost poised and ready to apologize on nagi's behalf.

"i'd love too, you know i would. but, i only take appointments and i've already got some girl back there that i'm working on." he sighs, clicking his tongue slightly as his eyes scan your body knowingly.

"well, whenever i find out how to make one. i expect a friends discount." you winked playfully, the tension that used to fill up space between the pair of you, gone with time. you smiled softly, watching his lazy grin flood his face.

I went to SCPper, found the most upvoted articles by users who've made at least one SCP, and sorted by time. These aren't necessarily the 173 best articles on the site, but I think they're likely to be the most influential. Longtime fans have probably read most or all of these but maybe this could be a starting point for newcomers.

I think sorting by time is important because the Foundation's been around almost 17 years. Writers come and go, trends come and go, new writers are influenced by what came before, and later articles are often longer and more complex than earlier ones. Just sorting by most upvoted bounces you around time; on the main wiki you read mostly series 1 articles then get dunked into SCP-5000. I hope this is a more natural progression, and that by the end people have more context for what's going on.

Using upvotes from writers only is important because the more writers like an article, the more likely later SCPs are to be influenced by it, so those articles are more likely to be important for understanding the wiki as a whole.

I might do an alternate version of this list that replaces the extremely long articles with shorter SCPs.

If you have trouble understanding one of the articles (some of the later ones get LONG), look it up on r/SCPDeclassified. If you would prefer audio narration/explanations, The Exploring Series and TheVolgun are both excellent. And of course, make sure to look in the sidebar on the wiki for guides, lists and explanations.

Ela era doce, gentil, esperta e muito, muito bonita. Mas a serva da deusa do amor já havia prometido seu coração àquela que a acolheu e, por isso, dedicou sua vida aos cuidados com aquele templo pelos anos seguintes.

Quando seus olhos encontraram com os de Anastasios, seu coração errou batidas o suficiente para que Mégara lhe desse a oportunidade de uma simples conversa. Mas o grego era um conquistador nato e não desistiu até que a serva de Afrodite estivesse perdidamente apaixonada por ele. Relacionaram-se por um ano, com Anastasios sempre prometendo que logo se casaria com ela, mas, antes que o fizesse, ele adoeceu.

Com seu amado no leito de morte, Mégara rezou a Hades, deus do submundo, para que salvasse o único homem que já havia amado, dando sua alma em troca. O homem foi salvo, mas fugiu da cidade com outra mulher, deixando Meg para trás.

Os anos seguintes foram de servidão a Hades. Fazia os piores trabalhos, seduzia, enganava e se prometia que nunca mais cairia no papinho de homem de novo. Até que... Bem, a história todo mundo sabe.

Uma vez livre de Hades e apaixonada por Hércules, Meg finalmente teve a oportunidade de dedicar sua vida às coisas que realmente gosta. Perdoada por Afrodite, voltou a dedicar sua vida à deusa, mas de formas diferentes. No Olimpo, trouxe a beleza nas mais diversas formas, sempre em nome da deusa do amor, quem a havia abençoado com tanto. Prometeu construir templos para a deusa e, no meio tempo, planejava as melhores festas do Olimpo, caindo nas graças de Dionísio.

Mesmo sendo apenas uma mortal, Mégara estava em casa. Sua vida finalmente estava perfeita.

Depois de tanto tempo no Olimpo, junto com o amor de sua vida mas, também, com os deuses, pessoas novas são um respiro. Mégara sempre foi curiosa, interessada nas outras pessoas, e um mundo repleto de gente nova é o cenário perfeito para sair da rotina. Até a ideia de firmar o relacionamento com alguém além de Hércules lhe parece interessante. Afinal, Mégara é uma grega nata! Reformou os conceitos de relacionamentos não-monogâmicos gregos junto com Hércules e se sente muito livre para se relacionar com quem quiser, embora, ela admite, seu coração seja apenas de um... Ou, agora, de dois!

Mégara é bissexual.

Tem uma personalidade expansiva e um jeitinho único de falar com as pessoas que sempre parece que está flertando.

Seu sonho é ter dezenas de filhos e, pra isso, há meses vem estudando a ideia de expandir o Olimpo. Óbvio que Zeus odeia a possibilidade e já tentou chutá-la do lar dos deuses algumas vezes.

Ela ama tudo que é roxo, por conta de seus olhos, que são dessa cor.

me waking up groggy and disoriented with no sense of reality like: Camazotz is totally giving HNL with Henry’s whole “everyone’s a prisoner here, even the guards and nurses” bit. And while Henry isn’t a small child like Charles Wallace, he’s so incredibly Charles Wallace coded. And Charles Wallace was turned “evil” by IT/Black Thing and left behind by Mr. Murry on Camazotz so he and Meg could escape.

During that bit Meg tells Mr. Murry that the “evil” Charles Wallace isn’t the real Charles Wallace, because it’s the name and not the body that contain a person, which is giving the vibes of the fuckery surrounding Henry/Edward’s banishment or lack thereof, as well as the whole “Henry/Vecna/001” running gag. Because the name contains the person. And they don’t know what to call him. Because we still don’t know who he is.

Anyway Mr. Murry is so Brenner coded in a multitude of ways (Meg idolizes him only to realize he’s just a flawed man, he runs IQ tests on Meg, Charles Wallace, and the twins, etc). And while Brenner seems more like Mr. Murry, he looks more like the Man With The Red Eyes, IT/Black Thing’s main mouthpiece, particularly in ST1 and Terry’s associated flashbacks in ST2 when his hair is parted the wrong way.

So while Vecna is So Incredibly IT/Black Thing coded as an elder brain/evil symbiotic duo, so is this other version of Brenner. Richard Brenner is still unexplained in relation to Henry/Edward, but if he’s anything like TMWTRE then he could be a time loop version of Edward like I had originally hypothesized, which would align with the “Brenner is part demogorgon” stuff from Nick because then in diverging realities (it wasn’t supposed to end this way), Edward could have ended up as Richard Brenner re: turning back the clock. And Henry’s still unaccounted for at the end of timeline theory/end of ST4, just like Charles Wallace before Meg goes back to save him.

musing 001: surnames

Meg's parents, Daniel Piper and May Chiang, both go by Chiang-Piper.

When May (birthname: 张美莲, chiang měi lián) expressed hesitance in changing her surname, Daniel had no qualms. Eventually, Daniel suggested they both go by a hyphenated surname.

Hence, Meg's last name being Chiang-Piper.
