Sniper nuzzled his face into the back of the doctor’s head and inhaled, smelling his shampoo and sweat and purred happily. The sun was hitting his back from the window and it felt sublime. His hands wandered down to Medic’s waist and hip, appreciating the rolls and curves there despite his lover’s burly frame and over his thigh. Sniper buried his face in the crook of Medic’s neck and purred again, low and groggy from sleep. There wasn’t much grace to the movements, but it didn’t matter.

Sniper smiled wide as he heard a soft giggle from his beloved, feeling the doctor’s body jiggle slightly with the playful sound.

One moment I brushed off when I first read it was the scene with deputy love saying jack sometimes drank at work. It didn't hit until I listened to the audiobook that this was foreshadowing to the whole ..... Jerry coming back to the gas station after being gone six days to jack drunk and delirious and having a ✨ mental break down ✨ that jack might have a drinking problem

I would say the text doesn't go into it that much to say one way or the other, however. Or at least, jack doesnt. It can be read as a one off thing, or not a one off thing. I do know the author author (if he's much different from jack) has/had a drinking problem and has talked about it (specifically in the new years post for this year), and I think Jerry's experiences with alcohol are probably based on his own

The sound of a baby's crying could be heard throughout the room as nurses cleaned her up and gave her the proper medications. They ceased as she was placed in her mother's arms. "Oh my goodness," Lucy said with a little giggle, her eyes tearing up, "she's so precious!" The baby had stopped fussing and was now resting comfortably against her chest. Edward sat at her side, staring at their daughter in awe. His heart was churning and flipping around out of pure joy. She opened her eyes, which were the same shade of red as Edward's. "She's got your eyes," she cooed. "She's got your ears," he smiled, which Lucy giggled at. She sighed tiredly. "Oh, she's so cute, isn't she, Eddy?" He nodded. "Our amazing little Maisie," he said as he wiped away a few tears. Lucy smiled softly down at her. "Would you like to hold her?" she offered. "Yeah, yeah of course!" She carefully handed Maisie to him, making sure that her head was alright. He held her comfortably in his arms, staring at her with the utmost adoration. Maisie stared up at him. "Hi sweetheart," he said, starting to tear up again, "if you're allergic to flowers I don't know what I'd do with myself," he joked. Then he narrowed his eyes. "Well actually I'd keep you away from them, I wouldn't want you getting sick or anything, May. I won't let anything happen to ya, alright?" Maisie made an incomprehensible noise. "I'm glad you understand," he said, which caused Lucy to laugh.

A little something I decided to write for Tsunami and Torture father-child angst momence. If you can’t tell, this is from Torture’s POV

I got inspired by @rotshop and @funkinmadnesss to write this

THE ACCIDENT

This is not good. Tsunami is being sent on their first mission only 2 months after they started training. I’m lucky I get to go with Tsunami to the lab their mission is at, otherwise this situation would be way worse. The mission seemed simple enough, right? Just protect one of the cloning labs in the city in case it gets raided, right? Well, it isn’t so simple. Tsunami is only 14, and we were assigned to this lab specifically because the Auditor caught wind of a rumor that Hank and his group are going to raid it. That’s not good. I can’t lose one of my kids on their first mission.

After a while in the back of a large truck, we finally arrived at the lab. It was huge. It looked to be about 8, maybe 9 stories tall! Tsunami seemed excited to be on their first mission, their tail was wagging, creating a thumping sound against the ground. Maybe nothing bad will happen. Little did I know how wrong I would be. The soldat currently in charge spoke up, catching the attention of me, Tsunami, and the other AAHW members assigned to this mission. “Alright everybody, listen up! We have been assigned to guard this lab from Hank and his group in case they decide to raid this lab.” This made my heart drop. “So, head over to the armory and grab some gear if you don’t already have some.” This causes almost everyone to go inside the lab to the armory, besides 1 agent that stayed with the soldat to guard the door. I swear I heard the agent whisper “good luck” to Tsunami as they followed me to the large side entrance for mag agents.

Me and Tsunami have been stuck ‘guarding’ a large storage room for about an hour now. Even though we weren’t supposed to, we got curious and opened one of the crates. It was full of many different types of ammo. We ended up resealing the crate. The sudden flashing of red lights and blaring alarm made me and Tsunami jump. That is a very bad sign. An agent rushed into the room. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING JUST STANDING HERE!?” They exclaimed “COME ON!” They shout, beckoning me and Tsunami out of the room as they run out. Quickly, we followed.

Screams and gunfire could be heard down the hall, telling us exactly where- wait, where is Tsunami? “shitshitshitshITSHIT!” I growled, quickly following the sounds of screaming and gunfire. I ran and ran until I found a room covered in bright yellow and crimson blood. Quickly, I ducked into the room, nearly breaking the doorframe. Bodies littered the floor, covering the floor and walls in blood. As I walked through the massacre, bright blue liquid coming from behind a crate caught my attention. Cautiously, I walked over to the bright blue liquid. Shifting the crate, what I saw made me freeze. Curled up on the floor behind the crate, was Tsunami. They were covered in cuts that leaked the bright blue liquid, their breaths coming out in small, wheezing, gasps, their eyes screwed shut in pain. Nononononono. I can’t lose Tsunami. Not yet. It’s not their time to die. As carefully as I could, I grabbed Tsunami’s small body and held them close, the bright blue blood staining my suit. “Come on Tsunami, hang on for a bit.” I whispered to myself as I put pressure on their deepest wounds, hoping to keep them alive for as long as possible while waiting for medics to arrive and help the few survivors. I can’t lose one of my babies. Not yet.
