The matchmaker: when you think these characters would genuinely be well suited to one another if they were real.

What is Dammit Hedgi Day?

Dammit Hedgi Day, the 25th of September, marks the 9th anniversary of the first "Dammit Hedgi" tag on one of my angst fics. Every September I accept [angsty, typically] prompts for three weeks, and then post a massive amount of oneshots and ficlets. Prompt fills range from 200-2000 words, and as the Poll dictates, will start being posted on September 25th

What Fandoms can be prompted for?

Dammit Hedgi Day started with the Flash and DCTV, but has grown! Previous years have seen ficlets for: The Flash (up to mid season 6? If you've seen me talk positively about a media, you can ask for it, essentially. I may not fill everything, but I'll try.

What kinds of prompts?

Originally an ANGST fest, it can get a bit more broad especially in recent years. Ideally: send me a fandom/ two characters and a line of dialog like one from a promptlist below OR fandom/ characters and a vague concept-- "Sokka in a time loop" is vague! "Leverage, Daemon au for the Big Bang job" is vague. "Stargirl, Rick and Cindy: "I'm never going to trust you" " is vague. Two full paragraphs that detail who says the line and everyone's feelings on the matter and the outcome is not vague. If you're not sure if something is too detailed, you can always send it in and see, though. Crossovers welcome. DHD is a smut-free zone, and it’s my day so  I will write about characters with my viewpoints so prompt with caution if you like a character I do not :)  You may attempt to rig your prompts for fluff but do not count on it. Do not expect shipping, this is a genfic event. A few ships may slip through at my discretion, y'all know who I Like. In 1968 the play The Boys in the Band was one of the first prominent pieces of American media to not just feature, but centre the stories of queer men.

It was initially difficult for write Mart Crowley to find a cast for the play, with Laurence Luckinbill (who would play Hank) warned that taking the role would end his career. But the production was such a success that it was adapted into a film in 1970. Now post-Stonewall, however, the lack of political angle to the film fell flat, and it wasn't a bit success.

The play was revived eventually for a Broadway production in 2018, with a cast of openly gay actors including Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto and Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons. The success of the revival led to a Netflix film adaptation with the same cast.

The Netflix version brought the story back into the public eye in an time when there are perhaps enough queer stories that there is perhaps more room for a small-scale, deeply personal story that offers a snapshot of another time, and drew from Crowley’s own life.

Episode 1: The Beginning

Opens with a flashback of Namjoon explaining their belief in the concept of how any art, any genre of art, can change the world.

This opening footage was recorded during a press conference for CONNECT, BTS.

A good explanation of what CONNECT, BTS appeared on DAZED, January 14, 2020.

It was a huge wide-ranging global art project to link visual art to music art. This is one of the installations in New York City:

Then we see scenes of them arriving at Incheon Airport in February 2020.

In February 2020, they were about to embark on the MOTS world tour. They were really pushing into the western market, especially the United States. They were headed to the States to start promoting on the talk show circuit and for magazine interviews. Western media was all over BTS. The public relations hype for their tour was huge. It was going to be HUGE. BTS was HUGE. At this point in the documentary we see english speaking fans trying to buy tickets for this tour.

This was the beginning of the year that would be their magnum opus. 

Leading the docu-series with this reminds everyone what was supposed to happen and the impact they hoped to make here in the United States, to ride the wave of their success as far as they could go until they had to stop. Keep in mind they did not have any full English songs yet. 

As far as they knew, this would be the end as we knew it, the end of Chapter 1. We all know what was to follow the MOTS tour even though no one wanted to speak about it: Enlistment. Jin would enlist December 2020 even though rumblings of a potential military exemption were beginning to buzz.

This period of time and after was when MANY MORE became fans of BTS. MOTS:7 was a record-breaking album. They were riding HIGH.

The scene of them being told the MOTS tour was cancelled is gut-wrenching. It makes me think of the content they filmed that day (March 8, 2020 a music show?)

and I wonder at what point during the day they were told. Jimin and Hobi did a Vlive:

There are scenes of MOTS cancellation day in 2020 Memories, but not THIS scene of them being told the tour was cancelled. 

Then we jump forward to scenes of the members on the beach in LA (end of 2021) recalling their feelings and thoughts about the previous (almost) two years (the pandemic), reflecting on themselves. They had to overcome frustration, and change and adapt to reality. 

Some of them were able to do that easier than the others. We know Jimin had a rough time, and it was challenging for Jin, Tae and Yoongi. Namjoon and Hobi worked on music. Yoongi wondered what was the point of even releasing music at all.

Jungkook says even though they were sad, something good came of it, they realized how much singing and dancing – performing – meant to them and how it superseded everything else.

Jimin says he and Namjoon spoke about how they needed to organize their thoughts over the years pertaining to the reasons they are doing what they do, how they feel and what they want to do, perhaps in order to help them sort through the pandemic aftermath and to serve as sort of an outline of how to proceed... it is sort of how the rest of this documentary series unfolds: the past, the present, the future.

Namjoon begins sharing thoughts of how he felt in the beginning and we flash back to 2013 debut. And the rest say their thoughts about how they began. This is a good way for newer fans to understand how they began: hearing their words as mature adults reminiscing about their roots and their start. 

We’ve heard the general story of how they began with RM first and the rap line was assembled, then the vocal line was added with Jimin being the last to make the team. Bang PD recalls how impressed he was with Namjoon and knew this was someone special. 

I’m positive there were opinions, decisions and choices made that we will never know because we weren’t there witnessing the moments. Whatever those decisions were, some probably forgotten in time or only known by a few involved in the process, however it happened, these seven individuals were settled upon and the team was created. The rest is history. 

No one had an inkling of how much they would change the idol and kpop industry from what they then knew it to be.

Preparing for debut: one of the things Jungkook says is they expected hardships back then but looking back now, if he tried to do that now, he couldn’t do it, but back then, it was a given. Yoongi said they spent every moment in the practice room when they weren’t eating or sleeping… up all night practicing, so much stress and pressure amongst seven young passionate young men trying to make a good debut.…you can see the stress and fatigue on their faces.

Through all of that they reveal how hard they worked and how deep their commitment is. They felt it was important to convey this deep personal connection to each other they developed and how strong their bond is.

The events might be repetitive for people who’ve been Army since the beginning or since before 2020, but for the benefit of newer fans, presenting their story like this in the words of each member is important. 

The author of the book Beyond the Story, Myung Seok Kang, explains how much of an underdog BTS was in the beginning. They were from a small, barely making it company and had the audacity to win Best New Artist in 2013 at the Melon Music Awards. 

Hearing them state how they felt during that debut year, their young minds trying to process what was happening, thrust into society at such a young age, seeing their friends still being students, they had to reconcile within themselves that their lives were so different.

Jungkook (our now giant global pop star) said he remembers how small he felt hearing another really good singer in his in-ears as they prepared for a performance.

Watching them struggle to come up with the melody for Danger, working on it as a team from Jungkook, to Namjoon, to Yoongi, note by note… at such a young age and then not experiencing the expected success or gains after they had done that with the previous song… they thought this would be the end for them. All they wanted was to win first place at a music show…. CAN YOU IMAGINE?? The team was wavering.

Newer fans need to be aware of this struggle.

All of this led to them writing the album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, the real start of their rise to stardom. They finally bagged that 1st place music show win with I Need U. The win gave them the confidence they needed to push forward and they kept winning with each song after that. Seeing their confidence grow after each win is exhilarating.

This album is the turning point in their career, the launch pad, so-to-speak.

And the song, Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment in Life) is the thread connecting Chapter 1 to Chapter 2 and beyond. We will have a Most Beautiful Moment in Life 10th Anniversary in 2025. This docu-series is the bridge between what was then, now and what is … yet to come.

Q&A with Missjlh

Who was your first DA protagonist?

Iris Lavellan! I’d been relatively new to roleplaying games when I first picked up Dragon Age: Inquisition, and the ones I’d played previously focused more on exploration than character development. I was so pleasantly surprised by the opportunities to interact with the companions, and the world at large, and how often I was able to do the roleplaying part of the game. 

With only the knowledge of the Dragon Age universe that I got from the little blurb about Dalish elves in the character creator, I’d decided that Iris would probably only romance another elf. I also roleplayed her as a more antagonistic character to those around her than any other character I’d roleplayed in a video game or DND before then (tough because I mostly played the goodie two-shoes sorts!). It was an interesting challenge to play a sort of character I’d never played before, and sometimes make decisions that were in-character for her, but not the sort that are conducive to making friends with certain members of the inner circle. 

She romanced Solas, and I was captivated by him, the vibe of their relationship in general and the tragedy of it. It really hooked me and got me invested in the universe at large. I do wish I’d read the codex entries a bit more thoroughly in-game because the after-credits stinger where Solas’ true identity left me scratching my head a bit until I looked it up, but once I read the implications, I was even more hooked on their doomed love story because the notion of Iris spending a year walking with an ancient god by her side, teasing/bantering with him, and falling in love with him only made the story even better in my books.

When did you start writing fanfic?

I was 13 and wrote my very first fanfic in a notebook that I still have hidden away somewhere in my home! My first published fanfic came when I was 15. My first foray into writing fanfiction as an adult came in late 2019, but I didn’t start writing in earnest until the early days of the pandemic in 2020. The world was a scary place and I’d found myself doom scrolling, so I started writing to keep myself off social media, and then I never stopped!

How do you come up with titles?

This is where I tell on myself and admit that my method for coming up with titles is chaotic a good 90% of the time: five minutes before I hit ‘publish’, with my fic/first chapter ready to go in AO3, I sit there and ponder what the title of my fic should be. To be clear, I write a lot of long fics - 75k plus works and I always draft them nearly in-full before I start publishing. I have a plethora of time to decide on a title! 

Do I? LOL no. Sometimes, a flash of inspiration comes to me (always late at night; usually when my partner is coming to bed and wakes me up when the bedroom door opens) and I come up with a title in advance. Those are precious baby unicorns in my list of AO3 works.

Subliminal Messages

I was planning to start this series of my opinions about the "ThisIsJimin videos with Jimin's first installment - Face-Off. But since I brought up Closer Than This yesterday, let's start there.

Did you watch the video closely? Did you notice what is missing?

First, there are three concurrent story lines going on throughout the video. The first is the behind the scenes footage of Jimin working on his solo songs during Chapter 2 and eventually the celebration of his #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Second is Jimin walking through the streets of Brooklyn. Third is the timeline of BTS, including group videos, award shows, and lots of concert footage.

Focus on the third story line. Did you notice how it abruptly ends? There is zero footage of BTS from the pandemic years, really nothing from even before the pandemic started. Nothing. No English trilogy, no Grammys, no late night talk shows. Why? If I were to pinpoint the exact moment the focus in the video switches from BTS to Jimin, it's when the group was increasingly focused on becoming famous in the US. BTS experts please weigh in here. What's the date of the last BTS footage in the video?

I'm curious when Scooter Braun became involved in BTS' career. Obviously Bang PD and Scooter had been cultivating a relationship for awhile before HYBE's acquisition of Ithaca Holdings in early April 2021. Was he involved in sourcing and promoting Dynamite? What about all the US media appearances, especially before March 2020?

Obviously this is all conjecture on my part. Hopefully this will all make more sense as I dig into the other #ThisIsJimin videos. But I personally believe that Jimin in trying to communicate, without saying so directly, that he's unhappy with Scooter Braun and Bang PD and unhappy abandoning BTS' guiding principles - writing their own music, not engaging in (intentional) chart manipulation, prioritizing high quality music and performance, etc. - in the name of money and fame. The members of BTS are locked into contracts that prevent them from speaking freely. Perhaps subtle messages via song and dance are the only ways to communicate with fans? Lord knows both Jimin and Namjoon have made a number of open-ended and cryptic comments on lives over the past couple of years.

Happy 5th Anniversary to FE3H, a Game That Changed My Life

It is no exaggeration to say this game changed my life.

In 2019, pre-release, I wrote headcanons during the time about characters, friendships, romances, scenarios, AU, etc. I just decided one day to give it a go. I never imagined doing it but yeah! There were a few others who were writing headcanon lists too, and it was fun going back and forth with them. I got popular enough that people made suggestions if I could write headcanons about 'x, y, z'. It was an extremely fun time! I continued with the headcanons until late 2020.

(Alas headcanons and people suggesting ideas is a dead art unfortunately.)

I also wrote Tumblr drabbles about all manner of scenarios! The game made me rediscover my love for writing. I always enjoyed writing, but I lost that love--it was more of 'I like doing this, but I wish I could love it again'. It also made me get back into writing fanfiction. For years I thought I would not go back to those days, but I came back in full force (even 5 years on)

I wrote my very first gift fic to a headcanoner like me (it became the literal first 'Byleth Eisner & Jeralt Eisner' fic on AO3)! I literally wrote the very first 'Edelgard von Hresvelg/Dorothea Arnault' (Edelthea) fic ever on AO3!

From release date I kept writing fics. I wrote a multi-chapter fics. I wrote a smut, and I never thought I would: but funnily enough through reading FE3H AO3 smut it showed me that it can be an amazing way to flesh characters. And shameless smut is great as well!

I was never actively involved in fandom like this. I wrote fics in the past but left it at that. But I interacted with people and enjoyed it!

The very first discord I joined was based on FE3H. I didn't even know what a discord was until someone I went back and forth with invited and told me about. I never thought I would join something like that, but I did.

During 2019-2020 I received fanart for my drabbles, based on headcanons, and on fics. I had some comments say I single-handedly got them into Edelgard/Claude (Edelclaude) through my multi-chapter fic 'The Eagle and Deer Walk Parallel Paths'.

2020 I ran the very first Edelthea Week! I never imagined I would ever run a fandom event, and that I would also create a Twitter for it! I tried to run an EdeltheaNSFW Week but it failed twice, but that was a fantastic lesson: not all weeks are destined to succeed!

I participated in fan weeks, such as 'FE3H LGBT Week', 'Edelclaude Week 2020' & 'FE3H Polyship Week'. I tried out a big bang but had to step down, but I tried it!

Few months later I was invited to be a social media mod for the Edelthea Fanzine 'To a Brighter Dawn'. I said yes. I also became a writer contributor. I never imagined joining a fanzine ever, as a contributor and especially as a mod.

Not much happened fandom wise in 2021 due to stuff. I lose the will to write (in everything). BUT I put my hand up for the 'Choose to Prevail: An Adrestian Trio Fanzine' towards the end of the year and got in!

2022 and 'Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes' is announced. Eventually I got back into a active fandom role, having overcome 2021. I made dear friends through our love of FE3H that year. I ran Edelthea Week again! I participated in fan weeks again! I started writing two fics that have become near and dear to me: 'Can There Still Be a Brighter Dawn?' and 'The Eagle Who Must Leave Her Nest'.

2023 kept contact with friends. I assisted a friend of mine @laminecuisine (and made a new companion) to run 'Edelgard Rarepair Week'! First time co-running something, and it was fantastic!

2024. Made new friends through FE3H, and kept old ones too. Wrote a collab fanfic with amazing friend @laminecuisine! Ran the third Edelthea Week, am co-running 'Edelgard Rarepair Week 2024', AND will co-run 'FE3H Polyship Week/Weekend 2024'.

FE3H helped me overcome obstacles throughout my life. It brought joy throughout my life. It made me get out there (safely) in the world to interact with others and make friends through some, and acquaintances with others. Throughout these years I have participated in many fan weeks, I joined discords, put my hand up for fanzines, interacted with others, and so forth.

FE3H means so much to me. It has its flaws, absolutely, and problems in the fandom, but when you curate your experiences then you can meet some of the loveliest and most open-minded people out there. I am still a fan, and will be now and forever.

Thank you FE3H: for existing, giving me the gentle nudges to get involved, for rediscovering my love of writing, and trying things I never thought I would do and enjoy.

I’m here to beg for any Michael and little Sebastian thoughts/headcanons/ideas you may have. After scrolling through your blog (I love literally everything you’ve written) I’m obsessed with their dynamic. Michael really saw this feral little kid and went oh, I want that one.

the new year’s been…. alright. i had a good week last week but have been bedridden since yesterday morning because (i think) i have a nerve compressed/blocked/entrapped whatever the English term for it is in my lower back and i’ve been in a bunch of pain :/ i’m stubborn though and waiting to call until Monday bc i don’t wanna call for an emergency which is what you have to do here if it’s the weekend. we’ll see. i had this back in 2020 and was bedridden for 2 months 😀 🔫 i’ll cry if that happens again. ANYWAY.

Michael & Seb thoughts !!!! (also i loved the ‘oh i want that one’ made me chuckle)

They’re in Japan, Sebastian’s just become the youngest GP winner 2 races back and it’s been a little bit of a whirlwind. There’s been a change in his media attention and despite Michael not being on the grid, he loves Japan, and Sebastian, so the invite was easily accepted.

“Sebastian.” Michael says, unimpressed with the younger’s outfit. “It’s cold outside, you need at least a jacket if you insist on wearing the T-shirt.”

Sebastian frowns looking down at his own shirt. “This was fine in Singapore.”

“Well, we’re not in Singapore, are we?” Michael replies, sat on the foot of the bed, dressed and ready to go in appropriate wear.

Sebastian pushes himself up from where he was sat on the floor, leaving the jacket and the hoodie that Michael had laid out for him moving towards the door of his hotel room. “I’m fine.”

“We’re not going outside without the jacket, Seb.”

“Are too!”

Michael sighs, already regretting not pushing for a nap before they went out to explore. “Your choice Seb, you know the deal.”

Sebastian whines and stomps his foot down, disgruntled frown edged onto his face. “I’m going without you.” He says, opening the door.

Michael raises an eyebrow. “You go out that door without your jacket and I’ll chase you down and then we’re not going at all.”

Sebastian gawks at him, eyes scanning his face for a bluff. “No you won’t.” He pouts, opening the door further, kicking the discarded jacket on the floor away from him for good measure.

“Sebastian.” Michael warns, already standing up.

“No!” Sebastian whines, body already half way out the door, giving Michael one last look before he’s booked it out of there.

Michael groans, trying to prevent a driver getting sick before the end of the season really shouldn’t be this much of a struggle. He’s up already so charges after Sebastian anyway, who’s already down the hall, a fast little brat off and on track.

But Michael’s been keeping fit despite his retirement, catches up quickly enough when Sebastian makes the mistake of waiting for the elevator, a quick end to their little chase.

“Nooo!” Sebastian whines, batting at Michael as he stalks closer, defiance clear on his face, a little glimmer of amusement shining in his eyes. Sebastian’s always liked a game.

Michael wastes no time snatching Sebastian’s wrist towards him, the momentum stumbling the younger forward enough for Michael to bend down just enough to fling Sebastian over his shoulder.

Sebastian responds by pounding his fists onto Michael’s back, something he stops immediately when Michael sends a sharp swat to the back of his thigh. “You stop that.”

“You’re being mean to me!” Sebastian whines, wriggling about.

“I’m the worst.” Michael agrees, making quick work of walking back to Sebastian’s hotel room, kicking the door shut with a bang before dropping Sebastian onto the bed. “And you’re being naughty, which tells me you need a nap.”

Sebastian squeaks as he disappears into the soft white comforter, trashing about at the mention of a nap.

“No nap!” He whines, trying to tug his ankle free out of Michael’s grasp, who’s already taking off his shoes. “I wanna go! I want my jacket.”

“Too late, buddy.” Michael says gently, getting off Sebastian’s other shoe despite the kicking.

It prompts a meltdown, which Michael saw coming anyway, and would’ve preferred to have in the privacy of their hotel room instead of in the public Japanese streets.

“I know,” Michael says, discarding his own shoes and jacket before climbing onto the bed and struggling to gather a visibly and audibly upset Sebastian. “Shh.” He soothes, tugging Sebastian close against his chest and wrapping him up tight. “You’re okay.”

“I wanna go!” Sebastian just cries, surrendering into the strong hold, dropping his head against Michael’s chest.

It earns him a couple soft kisses and the duvet covering them both. “I know, liebling. I promise we can try again after you’ve had a nap.”

There’s a miserable whine that leaves Sebastian, but it seems to settle him nonetheless, one of his hands coming up to rub at his eyes.

Michael cards his hands through the messy blonde hair. “Rest. I’ll be here when you wake.”

I only enjoy and consume 3 types of TV shows and this is why I have never seen Wednesday or stranger things or euphoria and I do not plan to ! (This is very much NOT in a me thinking I'm above popular media or trying to be controversial way bcs I am about to name some very popular media)

Type 1: questionably written late 2000s early 2010s American Sitcoms that I think are okay to rewatch despite not standing up under a 2020s lense bcs I watched them for the first time in the mid 2010s - e.g. the big bang theory, how I met your mother (which I have watched 17 times) and glee

Type 2: cartoons targeted towards children and/or preteens but are enjoyably consumed by adults - e.g. bluey, pokemon (to be fair I watched this for the first time as a child), Gravity Falls (to be fair I watched this for the first time as a child) and dead end paranormal Park (or adult animation bcs i love futurama)

Type 3: heard there was a gay person in it - e.g modern family, shameless (US), Brooklyn 99, good girls, sherlock (I too was queer baited)

My TV hyperfixations of the past 8 years have been (in no order): gravity falls, how I met your mother, shameless (US), sherlock (2 different times) and the big bang theory followed by young Sheldon if that contextualises any of this.

Unfortunately I will not watch shows outside of these categories so I am not up to date on shit!

Anyway u should talk to me about these TV shows unless you are a brooklyn 99 or sherlock stannie (I am very ashamed of my sherlock hyperfixations) in which case please stay very far away from me

On this day, 10 years ago, on July 7th, 2014, "Doraemon: Gadget Cat from the Future" made its official US premiere on @disneyxd with the first episode (containing the segments "All the Way From the Future World" & "The Mecha-Maker")!

It was an English dub adaptation of the third "Doraemon" anime series, running since April of 2005 and still going strong! (with 700+ episodes as of July 2024)

The dub had an incredibly high profile set of voice actors, starring Mona Marshall, Johnny Yong Bosch, Cassandra Lee Morris, Brian Beacock, and Kaiji Tang as the leads (Doraemon, Nobita/"Noby", Shizuka/"Sue", Suneo/"Sneech", and Takeshi "Gian"/"Big G"), with Mari Devon, Tony Oliver, Max Mittelman, Keith Silverstein, Spike Spencer, Minae Noji, Kirk Thornton, Cristina Vee playing the reoccuring set of secondary cast of the show's characters.

The show centered around the life of a misfortunate boy named Nobita "Noby" Nobi who suffers from bad grades, bullying from his peers, scolding from his parents (his ferocious mom mainly), and is generally an awkward, lazy, kinda weird, and slow kid.

A robotic cat from the 22nd century named Doraemon is sent back in time to aid Noby in his life, pulling out futuristic magical gadgets from his pocket that can turn everyday human life into something much more every day.

Hijinks ensue when Noby ends up misusing Doraemon's gadgets, often continuously using them for his selfish (or selfless sometimes) benefits until things get incredibly out of control either through inconveniences, bullies, or just... really really poor choices.

Occasionally every now and then, the show has little half hour adventures, such as Noby & the gang helping a group of little people ("A Little Adventure"), Doraemon & Noby seeing aliens ("Invasion of the Goat Aliens", "Doraemon and the Space Shooters"), Doraemon & Noby going after a time capsule ("Doraemon's Time Capsule"), escaping from a villian from the future ("A Visitor from the Future"), but generally overall, the show is incredibly episodic and formulaic with the premise listed above.

The dub made numerous edits to the source material such as having the show's setting take place in a random no-name town in America instead of Japan, changing Japanese yen to American currency, removing content, motifying the character Shizuka's personality due to American viewers misunderstanding or getting confused over her original traits, etc.

The cast of characters were also given Americanized names, though these are confirmed to be just nicknames, with it being implied that they still have their original names in media such as Stand By Me Doraemon 2 (the English dub) & in the English manga.

It ran for a total of 52 episodes (with two 11 minute segments each with the exception of a few half hour specials that were dubbed, especially by season two) across two seasons from July 7th, 2014 to September 1st, 2015, being seemingly cancelled or sidelined by Disney quietly, with no official answer on the status of the dub.

According to Sneech Honekawa voice actor Brian Beacock via his TikTok on a stream from around 2020, Disney lost interest and didn't want to continue pushing the series.

The show continued to air in reruns after the conclusion of the second season on Disney XD until on June 20th, 2018, it got preempted by a rerun of Phineas & Ferb and has never aired again nor been seen again on American television (photo above courtesy of Collin LW)

And sadly, as of 2024, there seem to be no plans to officially re-release the dub via formats, as its not on DVD and Blu-ray nor is it available on watch on major streaming services with anime like Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, or Crunchyroll.

Though thankfully, thanks to the efforts of an unknown to my head right now fan, the entire English dub's episodes in 1080p logoless quality (ripped from "Watch Disney XD" before being removed) is currently available to watch online on Archive.org (& MEGA), being helped made widespread by Doraemon US superfan & voice actor Collin LW!

Despite receiving some particularly heavy negative reception from several fans of the original Japanese dub over the years since its existence came to be, the dub has generally received positive feedback from those who saw it, especially from its devoted cult following. Particularly for the voice cast's performances, heartfelt moments, the cute cartoony artstyle, the fun cast of characters, the original soundtrack by Joseph Bauer, and the sense of witty hilarious humor that's been favorably compared to the likes of the 4Kids dubs of the "Pokemon" anime from the 1990s and 2000s.

Still hope we get more of the dub via either a dub of one of the mainline movies (cough cough Doraemon: Nobita's Earth Symphony cough cough) or maybe another dose of the 2005 series somehow on Netflix after their Stand By Me Doraemon 2 release in 2021 ^^
