Sometimes I forget that 911 is also a Ryan Murphy show but that gives me the hopes for buddie tbh also for me the one to be like the sue of klaine for me is both Maddie and Chris like they would really set them up like you know she literally when Buck says he was with Tommy she was like think about it and talk to Eddie if you have to say something the same way Eddie tells Buck he has to talk to Tommy so I’m like why that parallel also at the wedding she wasn’t like that happy when she told Chim that yeah Tommy and Buck were together and we know Jennifer is a buddie Stan so I’m like the acting choices of those people also in the coming out when Eddie says doesn’t change anything between them for a second Buck looks like sad and then Eddie and I’m like what is this what

Oooh. I can see Maddie and Chim playing some interference, especially with our buddie queen JLH, who gets whatever she wants and made Madney happen.

Small excerpt from my post-break-up fix it fic for fanfiction friday. (featuring meddling Chimney, a supportive firefam and a little bit of holiday angst)

“It’s- it’s fine. No, really. I mean it. I-” Buck paused, sighed, lifts a hand in defeat. “I was going to run into him again eventually. A-and I know you guys meant well and it’s nice that you invited him to the Thanksgiving dinner, I don’t want him to be all alone and miserable for the holidays. It’s just. Still fresh I suppose. Seeing him again… It got me so angry suddenly.” He looks down and starts fiddling with a kitchen towel. “I don’t know, maybe I do want him to feel a little miserable actually. Not life-ruining miserable, but like a normal amount. Like. I- I hope the new probie at harbour says the q-word at least once. I hope every traffic light turns red just for him. I hope it starts raining when he’s right in the middle of a hike. I hope the Lakers lose every game of the season. I hope the Thai place on the corner gets his order wrong. I hope his car breaks down and he has to wait hours for the mechanic to get there. I hope the supermarket runs out of his favourite ice cream. I hope the radio plays all his least favourite songs.” A drop falls and lands on the back of his hand. Buck wasn’t sure when exactly he had started crying, but now the floodgates were open and the tears kept flowing. He tried to wipe the wetness away with limited success. Fuck. He took another deep breath and slowly let it out through his teeth. “I want him to be okay, happy even, eventually. But right now I hope he’s fucking miserable.”

oh, wait, i've had another thought, hear me out:

AU where tommy never left the 118 and buck never joined the LAFD but maddie still joined dispatch and met chimney during a call, and started hanging out with him like back in S2.

fast forward to maddie bringing buck to a 118 family barbecue and buck instantly clicking with everyone and making friends left and right. he's drinking beers and talking with eddie and tommy when he notices maddie and chim doing their little flirting but not flirting dance and tommy's like "they're always doing that. howie will not stop talking about her but he won't ask her out" and buck starts sharing stories about them dancing around each other and their buffridays and karaoke duets and because they're both hopeless romantics living vicariously through madney they come up with a plan to get them together

cue tommy and buck coming up with ways to set up chim and maddie on date like activities with them as wingmen. they go to the movies and dinner, have an entire day at the santa monica pier, hangout during trivia night at tommy's favourite bar, buck books all four of them a tour and farm-to-table lunch at a vineyard and winery, tommy even flies them all out to vegas for a weekend. and obviously through it all tommy and buck start to know each other more and more and start liking hanging out with each other

they keep coming up with these romantic ideas to finally get chimney and maddie to realise they've been dating this whole time and don't realise (or pretend they don't) that it's looking more and more like double dates and that they're the ones using madney as wingmen because they're too nervous to actually admit they're doing it more for them than for maddie and chim at this point

until one day maddie and chimney go on an actual date of their own without meddling little brothers and best friends and start dating for real and now buck and tommy realise that oh, actually they started catching feelings for each other and don't know what they're supposed to do now that they don't have an excuse to go on elaborate double dates and now it's maddie and chim's turn to get them to accept they had been dating the whole time and they have feelings for each other
