There are 14 Fears, Ivy can tell you more about those if your interested. We're all (mostly) human and live on Earth, something that apparently is strange.

Jonny was a cop for a while, he quit when Lyf was taken.

Lyf was also a cop. They uh. They were taken by the Distortion a few weeks ago.

They're not dead.

Ashes runs a podcast and they and Tim run a mafia.

Ivy is the Archivist in the Magnus Institute, Marius, Brian and I are her assistants. Nastya and Aurora also work there, though not in the Archives.

That's what I think is a basic run down?

The others may be better to answer specific conversations.

Oh yes, learning of the Universes is extremely interesting, Raphaella and I have a board where we're tracking them-

You have like I think the last count Ashes said was five separate red string boards you've connected together.

Jon Sims? He tends to be the Archivist in most Universes I speak to with them. Interesting. Here he's the Head of Research. Gertrude was not my predecessor here, Carmilla was, though I have heard of her. She's with the Desolation here.

I am going to assume from what I know speaking to another Universe that the Melanie you speak of is Melanie King. She's not in the Archives in my universe, though she does run a youtube channel and podcast with her girlfriend Georgie. Tim I will assume is Tim Stoker, he's in Research here, very kind man if a bit brash at times.

Martin is the Head of the Library here, he's a very kind man, we have meetings each week with Nastya (Head of Artifact Storage) and sometimes Jon, they're basically gossip sessions. Basira is a part of a Mafia here with Daisy (Who I will assume is the Hunt Avatar who growled at you.) both Daisy and Basira work for Ashes, though they work directly under Tim (Not Stoker) who is the Persephone to their Hades.

I do wish you luck in your attempts to speak with Stoker and give him what seem to be coping mechanisms. I hear the Stoker here enjoys kayaking, maybe he could try that.

Hm. I have not heard much of an Unknowing, it seems to be something to look into.

We do seem to have the same Fears. I myself am with the Beholding. It can be difficult, though mine and I have found ways to live balancing human and inhuman.

My assistants are all human at the moment. Marius and Brian don't seem to be leaning towards an entity, which is good, we need a few Human Anchors in this house. Raphaella, while currently Human is slowly falling into the Eye. I'm watching over her to be sure she knows what it is she is doing. I will not have them fall into this unknowing and unwilling, choosing only because Becoming seems better than Death.

Oh! It seems that there are several different universes that somehow can contact each other through this site, we thought maybe it was of the Web and the Spiral, though not all Universes we've spoken to have those so we're not all too sure.

There's a fucking multiverse??? Maybe connected by the web and the spiral ? I- I'd hoped I was done with that, but i guess I can't be so lucky. It could be cool to learn about other ones, a small upside.

And um, well, the Archivist certainly isn't called Ivy so that's the first difference I see. Jons alright. He's nicer than Gertrude was, a little pathetic though- Like a particularly anxious stray cat.

What the Archives are like... honestly a little tense? I don't think Melanie and Tim like Jon very much. But Martin and Basira have been nice. And blonde lady growled at me once? Hunters are a bit scary

It's a lot messier than I remember, but they tell me that was something... Gertrude did. Which- which is just plain unhelpful, which is like most of what Gertrude did. I think most of us have given up on organization. And it's hard to do filing when my hands lock up. We play a lot of board games now.

I've been trying to talk to Tim, I dont.. I don't like what hes been saying, lately. I've been thinking I could maybe convince him to go hiking? I think he mentioned that he used to do that, and it seems nice.

There's not much else I guess, were just trying to get ready for the unknowing... which isn't going great... brings back bad memories I guess

Speaking of- I guess we also have the same fear-entity things..? That's really unfortunate... I wouldn't want anyone else to have to deal with it.

You see this AU crossover between The Mechanisms and The Magnus archives? Yeah, I like that one.

But I prefer the two groups being only linked by Jon. So, Nicholas is not Toy Soldier, Basira/Georgie is not Ashes, etc... I just like to think Jon has the coolest friend group/family to hang out outside of work and no one except Rosie knows about the mechs.

I want to try writting a chatfic too, so here it is. It's just the first chapter but I'm so anxious that I can't continue for now...

Tim: Jun was a Japanese student here in London to study for a year before going back to Japan and welcome London’s students. Exchange program yada yada yada…

Tim: so! When Jun started to be better than him in their literature class, Jonny was mad! I wasn’t even his friend but I could see it, the two of them spent all their breaks bickering. Jonny in his soft, shy, but angry voice and Jun in her broken English mixed with Japanese.

Jules: Wait hang on

Jules: They weren’t friends because they were good at the same things?

Jules: I thought that Jonny always treated Carmilla like some kind of idol, having a little crush on her and all.

Tim: they did after exchanging notebooks by accident! Jonny loved Carmilla’s songs so much and Carmilla loved his stories so much that they finally talked normally and became friends

Tim: and yes Jonny had very strong feelings for Carmilla from the start, but he’s just terrible at expressing it

Tim: like a kid bothering another one because they don’t know how to keep their attention on them

Tim: but I doubt it was romantic

Jules: are you implying that this new assistant Jonny just met is his new crush?

Tim: that’s what I’m asking you!

Hello Mechanisms Fans!!!! i'm sure you're probably wondering, "But Mak! Don't you already have a server dedicated to Mechs Covers?" And you're right!! But!! Myself and my friend @legendary-dumpster-fire , who I started that server with, have decided we wanted to make our own official project where we have chosen individuals for the characters!

what do you think the mechs would be avatars of? my first thought was slaughter for the group as a whole bc,, duh. but now that im thinking about it, i think they'd be more eye/end aligned. because their whole thing is stories and the part they clearly deem most important is the end right? theres all the blood and gore in the middle but the important bit is everyone dies at the end

individually though, not as a whole group they're all sorts of stuff i think

ashes would be desolation for sure with all the fire and the likes, and hades makes me think web too? they're the one behind the scenes pulling the strings (granted, usually for their own entertainment but who can blame em really)

toy soldier would be stranger, once again for obvious reasons. im not really sure if theres much crossover on this one really.

jonny i reckon would be eye and slaughter, mans cares for two things and its violent crime and a good story (amen!)

brian is SO lonely coded like?? its in the backstory song man,, also vague end-ness probably, though tbf they probably all have that end cloud by virtue of being the mechanisms. maybe vast too

tim would be slaughter too, he loves a good murder spree but i feel like theres something else and ive just forgotten like half the fears lmao OUGH hunt maybe? tim goes crazy is very hunt coded

ivy is SO immensely eye. she's literally an archivist. she gathers and stores aaallll that information but her emotional connection to it is reset every night. thats so eye!!

nastya is definitely lonely, at least towards the end but probably the whole time (from what little i know of cyberian demons) and maybe dark? that ones 100% vibes i have no explanation

marius has very spiral vibes i think. hes just a silly guy ur honour i think he deserves it. i cant really think of any other one for him tbh

and raph is quite stranger coded i think, idk the detachment from humanity that comes with being a mad scientist just feels very stranger to me? more so than the average mechs detatchment from humanity

i dont know why i made this post but ive been rotating end/eye mechs in my brain for a couple days just because i think the idea of s5 jmart stumbling across a domain thats kind of an accumulation of the various album aettings and music that can be heard from anywhere in the domain and victims living/reliving the parts of the characters is very very cool and i needed to word vomit it somewhere
