Okay so Love in the Air (2022 Thai BL) was quite good albeit having a few plotting issues and bad sound mixing, especially during the second half. It’s 13 episodes, split into two romance stories. The first 7 are focused on Rain x Payu, and the latter 6 are focused on Sky x Pai.

I really enjoyed it and think it’s worth a watch if you want a fun, relatively short romance. The actors make out very enthusiastically and the sex scenes show basically everything but the genitals. There is some dubcon that kind of comes with the Thai BL territory, and either you can swallow it or you can’t. I found that it was handled well enough to move past it and enjoy the rest of the show.

You can absolutely just watch each half as discreet stories if one or the other doesn’t appeal.

RainPayu is the more lighthearted story. It’s also the one I liked better just because I preferred Payu as a love interest. I am very annoyed that the actor looks so good in a fuckboy hair cut and clingy black tshirts. Rain is *really stupid,* almost to the point of being unbearable due to secondhand embarrassment but held onto my interest long enough for his character development to kick in.

Trigger warnings and spoilers below the cut for SkyPai:

Sky has unresolved trauma from his abusive ex. His ex, after habitually abusing him for an unspecified period of time, brought friends to gang-rape him. The depiction of the assault involves them holding him down and him begging for help but no explicit depictions of intercourse. But because the show is so cleanly divided between the two pairings you can absolutely just skip this entire story. The full flashback and present-time assault both happen in the final episode, which makes it easier to fastforward through them if you just want to skip the worst scenes. The nightmares have a very distinctive dark red filter that make them easy to recognize and skip as well.
