Cities by Impressiveness of Mountain Backdrop / Rut

After seeing the recent posts Cities with a better mountain backdrop than LA? ( u/odi3luck ) and This is a response to the LA mountain backdrop ( u/sam_woke ), I realized that I had the exact tools to answer a particularly niche but interesting question:
How do we quantify how impressive a city's mountain backdrop is?
To answer this question, we use rut, an indicator I developed back in the days to quantify how sharply or impressively the surroundings of a location rise above the location. (my research paper if you're interested)
Roughly speaking, rut works as follows:
The higher the mountains rise above a city, the more impressive they are, and the higher the rut.
The steeper the mountains rise above a city, the more impressive they are, and the higher the rut.
In the map shown, I measured the rut of every city with a population of over 100,000. Here's some cities in each tier and their corresponding rut values:
S tier - rut > 500 m (world-class, would visit for mountain views alone) -

So to answer the question, what cities have a better mountain backdrop than Los Angeles? Quite a lot... quite a lot.

Note: rut measurements only consider rise above surroundings (relative height differences and steepness). They do not consider absolute elevation, nor the "aesthetics" of a mountain, nor visibility (or lack thereof) due to weather or smog.

Swift 4-D printing with shape-memory polymers
Shape-memory polymers or shape-shifting materials are smart materials that have gained significant attention within materials science and biomedical engineering in recent years to build smart structures and devices. Digital light processing is a vat photopolymerization–based method with significantly faster technology to print a complete layer in a single step to create smart materials. Fahad Alam and a team of scientists in electrical and computer engineering, and nuclear engineering at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia developed a facile and fast method to 3D print shape-memory polymer-based smart structures with a digital light printing 3D printer and custom resin. They combined a liquid crystal (a material that can change its shape with temperature) with resin, to introduce shape-memory properties to directly 3D print thermoresponsive structures—while avoiding the complexity of resin preparation. The team printed the structures with different geometries and measured the shape-memory response. The shape-memory polymers can be conveniently prepared for use as smart tools, toys, and meta-materials.

Scientists at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia have developed a tiny "claw machine" that is able to pick up and drop a marble-sized ball in response to exposure to chemical vapors. The findings, published July 12 in the journal Chem, point to a technique that can enable soft actuators -- the parts of a machine that make it move -- to perform multiple tasks without the need for additional costly materials. While existing soft actuators can be "one-trick ponies" restricted to one type of movement, this novel composite film contorts itself in different ways depending on the vapor that it is exposed to. "It can bend and stretch depending on molecular interactions, which is very sophisticated at this size range," says author Niveen M. Khashab, a Chemistry Professor at KAUST. "We hope our findings will be used to develop advanced soft robotic systems capable of precise and adaptable movements in various environments," she says, suggesting the systems could be used in medical devices, industrial automation, and tools used to measure temperature, air quality, and humidity.
