my eleventh year (2012) was a wild one, reading wise. by my estimations, that year (for the first time) i read percy jackson, diary of a wimpy kid, the hunger games, twilight, divergent, the uglies series, beautiful creatures, the mortal instruments, thirteen reasons why, and i'm pretty sure i read h*rry p*tter that summer. of course, i've since realized i have a tendency to soooorta skim when i read things for the first time, especially when i was younger, so who knows how much of that i actually absorbed, but like -- what in the pop culture catastrophe assfghjkllghjkllll

#it was the year my parents got divorced so there was a lot going on #in strange twists my MOM gave me twilight and said it was one of the best books she ever read #and i had the hardest damn time with it #meanwhile i finally picked up harry potter after years of refusing on principle... pretty sure those were ALSO my moms #but she never got past the first one #strangely i never read the hunger games after that year... until like last year and i feel cheated out of years of a good series #i read so fucking much as a kid and so fast that im just now processing how much foundational pop culture stuff i consumed in one year #fuck jk rowling btw #books #i am not endorsing any particular book or author listed here im just discussing what i read aged 10/11
