the insistence from political scientists studying american politics in my department that the dnc has nothing to do with what candidate gets the nomination is so frustrating and baffling to me.
#they are so enveloped in their little silo of how american politics are democracy at its best#they cant fathom the notion that american primaries arent super democratic#from start to finish#i mean this cycle alone#mike gravel met all the reqs to get on thr debate stage#but he was an anti imperial far left candidate so they refused#meanwhile bloomberg didnt meet the reqs#but made an enormous donation to the dnc#and so they literally changed the rules for him and he got in the debates#and dont even get me started on superdelegates#especially in 2016#a majority of superdelegates were pledged for hillary before people even started voting in the primaries#nothing about superdelegates is democratic#NOT TO MENTION#we do not have universal suffrage in this country#the dnc is a disease and they keep playing the same games and losing elections to the gop that way#and people are like why do they never learn???#because they dont care about progressive politics they care about how to keep the pretrump status quo intact#uh anyway#emma rambles#politics
