Everyone likes to hate on Mass Effect Andromeda but that game set up for me what's the ideal way of making companion quests. Locking to getting to know and bonding closer with your companions behind a romance was quite a bummer for me in regards to Baldur's Gate 3.

My first playthrough of ME:A I romanced Vetra, got to race her up to the top of the cliff and then lay down the rock holding hands with her. And I still got to meet Jaal's family and see his holographic map of the galaxy and it was such a sweet moment between friends! And then on the next run, it was the opposite - I got to enjoy the sunset on top of the cliff with Vetra as friends, and kiss and hold hands with Jaal under the holographic stars on his bedroom.

Just... let me have nice intimate moments with companions as friends. Let me have wine with Shadowheart on the beach without wanting to kiss her. I want to hear about her plans for the future! Why would she not share that with me just because I never got into her pants!

Beat armored core 6 on NG++. The best part of this game is how dependent you become on your mech. How attached. I hit a roadblock fighting the final boss of the NG++ route, and my girlfriend tried to suggest changes to Capable in order to make the fight easier:Make her lighter, make her hit harder, make her a better fit for the job. But it was useless to me:a faster mech overshot my target when I'd close the distance for a melee attack, a better generator felt downright WRONG. Swapping the Pile Bunker for anything else felt dirty. I wanted to vomit until I put Capable back to the way she was. In other Armored core games, I can swap through mech parts really easily without being thrown off balance. in fact its HOW I make progress, and very much how these games are meant to be played:a constant cycle of experimentation and adaption. The on the nose themes of evolution are very present in the games ethos, and I love it for that. But AC6 communicated this very, personal, feeling between me and my mech, that echoes alot of the sentiments I see in the transgender fiction thats been floating around the concept of mecha lately. and that fucking ruled so. Yeah probably game of the year? FFXVI was amazing but. Has some problems. So does AC6! The part selection felt downright anemic in some regards, and the arena was a little disappointing (But I was glad to see it play a role in the story of the NG++ playthrough) but goddamn if it wasn't a fun game

She had this entire conversation hunched over and talking straight into the dude's, ummmm, microphone? 👀🤣Uh-oh, I think Sara was in cryo too long and now the Pathfinder has some serious neeeeeeeds, man! 😰🫦🤣

(We also have been having a bad habit of, wellllll, crotch-shotting people in this playthrough. 👀👀👀Ahem. Guess I can't blame that one entirely on Sara, hm? 😇🤷‍♀️ In my defense, I'm rusty on ME:A's weapons and I'm having trouble getting head shots and am hitting 'em a LOT LOWER by mistake. Um, sorry to all of the bad guys in the Heleus Cluster? Wear bulletproof cups? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤣)

Anyway, don't worry, Sara, we'll be going to Kadara soon and you know what that means?

I wish I had more energy to play games. I still haven't finished my first BG3 playthrough and I want to start another with a different class, new update to Cyberpunk is coming out in a couple days, I still have lots of stuff to do in Starfield. On top of that I want to also play some older games (ME:A, DA trilogy), from time to time I think about going back to FFXIV or giving ESO another try. Why do I have to love such a time consuming hobby dhsksjsj. jk I love it, I just want my energy to play games back.

Started Mass Effect Andromeda today! Doing my best to keep an open mind. Downloaded some bug fix mods ahead of time, plus the "infinite" inventory and the polyamory mod cause I know I'm at least interested in both Vetra and Jaal just from what I've gathered in the fandom ether...

But man, starting the game with some weird ass nepotism was a choice, huh?

Anyway, playing Raffaelle "Raff" Ryder, non-binary scrapper (she/they cause voice acting in game don't offer they at all...) and very much in over their head if things don't involve fisticuffs.

I forgot this man existed for a hot minute but oh my gosh, Ais, when I tell you I was so upset that Tiran Kandros wasn't a romanceable in ME:A, I was heartbroken.

YES, I love him and it's an outright crime to not be able to romance him!

I'm not exaggerating when I say that, on my first playthrough when he showed up to help me Sara fight at the end, I made *~noises~* I'm a total Turian fangirl, what can I say? 😍😍😍🤗💖
