What if Lily Evans was offered an incredibly well-paid cutting-edge magical research job in America right before she graduated Hogwarts?
I mean, the real answer is we don't know. We don't know much about Lily as a character from the text and while I have what I use to write fics a lot of that's free interpretation from me.
We'd have to know what's most important to Lily at the time:
Her career
Her relationship with James (which would undoubtedly suffer from long distance)
Fighting Voldemort personally inside the country rather than flee even if it's to take advantage of an opportunity
There's also the undoubted angst of if Lily really does want to stay she might tell herself that surely an offer in Britain's going to come around. Surely. She'll get it if she keeps trying.
As @therealvinelle and I characterize her? This is before she was inducted into the Order or even knew about this (again, we don't know when/how she was inducted and found out, this is just what we go with) and this is a really good opportunity for her and something she'd love to do. She'd take the job and regretfully break things off with James so as to not put him through a long distance relationship where she very likely wouldn't be returning anytime soon.
Lily would gladly try to rally Americans and such to let them know what's happening in Britain/the situation and donate to the cause but she would not return to be an Order member.
(As a result, canon doesn't happen as there's presumably no miraculous defeat of Voldemort and things probably go very south in Britain.)

fic writer twenty questions!!!
tagged by the lovely @timelesslords <33 (that's kind of alliteration if you think hard enough hehe) aka an incredible writer who i admire greatly (for which reason i'm linking her version of the post here) <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
28
2. What's your AO3 word count?
103,418
3. What fandoms do you write for?
very primarily percy jackson (i.e. pjo/hoo/toa) and the shadowhunter chronicles
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. Percy to the Rescue (69)
2. A Different Kind of Adventure (54)
3. Napkins and Notebooks (54)
4. Mistletoe (52)
5. The Holiday Market (51)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
i do! it may take some time (if i get in my head about something lol) but i will always get to them if they elicit a response. i appreciate comments and the people who make them so incredibly much
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
probably Acceptance. it's <900 words but it's the only fic i have flagged with "main character death" so..
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
this is so hard.. prospecitvely i want to say it will be The Shape of the Tide just because of how much of a journey it will take to get us there. but as of right now it might be You, Me, and Nick just because of how damn cozy it is.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
i get a lot of "why would you do this" but so far *knocks on wood* no real hate.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
yes. and i have no idea how to answer the second question.. um ig pretty straightforward explicit hetero smut? (so far.. if anything else i could def see myself writing sapphic smut in the future)
10. Do you write cross overs? What's the craziest one you've written?
i have written one (1) crossover. it was a percy jackson/harry potter next gen where the percabeth fam move to the uk and their son gets a letter from hogwarts. i was like 14/15 and gave up two chapters in because i couldn't figure out the conversion rates of american dollars to pounds to wizard money o7 (ftr i would totally write more. it can be so fun to play with characters like that and see how they interact etc.)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
i am far to unknown for that lol
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
no sirr
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
no, but i would love to
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
es a tie between percabeth (pjo) and sizzy (tsc). (some might determine from observing my blog (or sideblog) that it's actually just sizzy. but (a) i love them in different ways, (b) i don't recieve asks about percabeth, and (c) the scarcity of sizzy fan-content makes my heart act out the economic principle of supply and demand lol)
15. What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever wilI?
ivy.. i would love to see this story completed but unfortunately i no longer ship ghostwriter and even with reshaping the plot to change the endgame, i just don't feel like writing that much about jesse anymore.
16. What are your writing strengths?
i feel like i'm pretty okay at tackling complex emotions? i've also gotten comments on my imagery, voice, and characterizations.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
endings; it's the biggest critique i remember receiving in my college writing classes. i also feel like i have a tendency to get lost in the weeds sometimes, which results in too much narration. also just general confidence.. i get spooked really easily.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
it's fun if it's spanish! but so far that's the only other language i've written dialogue in.. (thank you, leo)
19. First fandom you wrote for?
i actually think it may have been ella enchanted ? it was back on figment.com when i was 13-14 and was for some sort of challenge and i thought like ooh i can connect this with ella! (i was prob in my reading and rereading the book era) but it was super short and barely connected lol
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
gonna take a page out of lexi's book and split this between fandoms hehe
for tsc: Trying. i have found myself sitting at the top of my stairs ready to leave just rereading the first like 5k of this fic way too often. (it's also horribly the longest piece of writing i think i've ever finished. so it holds a special piece of proof to myself in it.. even if its only like 8k)
for pjo: Here Without You. there's an entire fraction of my soul tied up in this fic i swear. i'm never not thinking about it. it's been incredibly cathartic for me to write, both for myself and the characters (incl. calypso who i was not expecting to learn to appreciate/understand as much as i have)
leaving the tag open bc i can't think to save my life rn but! if you write fic and wish to do this, consider this your designated tag <3

the logic of bashing fics
I love the parallels between a certain type of character. Tell me if you've seen them before.
Ostensibly “noble” adults generously helping orphan protagonists. For such generosity, they get the orphan's undying loyalty. Within the story, these adults are portrayed as good, or at least ambiguous in morality. Never explicitly evil, as often we're hearing from the perspective of the kids they save--who worship them -- and not from the fellow adults around them. Or, if we do, those adults who DO badmouth them have ulterior motives that muddy the waters.
And, yet... The cracks are there.
For an example: DUMBLEDORE.
With Dumbledore, the cracks are unintentional. The casualty of being in a genre where you need young kids getting into dangerous action without adults getting in the way. What you get is this strategic figure who neglects him to the point of abuse and views Harry's life as his sacrificial pawn in war, where death "is the next great adventure," but this is all painted as a Christ-like sacrifice rather than a disturbing one.
Oh sure, the characters are horrified by Harry's death and abuse, but not to the point of ever questioning Dumbledore's character over it, nor does the audience. In many ways, Dumbledore has groomed Harry into his role as sacrificial lamb, but it's justified within the narrative to us and the characters.
This leads one of my favorite phenomena: people getting unreasonably mad at genre conventions.
For instance, your average action media featuring teenagers will have them putting their lives in danger, and, thus, will create excuses for why adults aren't there to stop them. Your casual viewer will accept these shallow excuses for what they are-- a plot device without much thought put into it. It's a mundane part of their suspension of disbelief, so they can watch magical teenagers fighting monsters. They don't need much thought put into this because they understand that it's just the conceit of the show.
But sometimes it's a little fun to think deeper about the implications of these flimsy excuses. Listicle sites go viral off of these types of "Why Hogwarts Should Have Been Shut Down Years Ago" articles. It's nothing more than a fun little thought experiment to them, but it gets really funny to me when I stumble across people who get genuinely ANGRY and PETTY about this. Seething at the gall of "children's fantasy show writer #218" for writing such abusive parents and not even acknowledging it within the story! I mean, it kind of takes the lightheartedness out of "children fighting--the genre" if you acknowledge that parents shouldn’t be okay with their preteens being sent off to magic fighting, guys. Like high school American football, we gotta brush the danger to the kids under the rug to enjoy the show lol guys.
And who are these angry guys? They're the people who genuinely felt tricked when they realized that the excuses (that everybody else took as a farce at face value) don't make much sense.
Why? Because they bought in WITHOUT suspending their disbelief. Like when kids believe high school will be just as trope-y as their fanfics/TV shows until they get there! Because they were little kiddos too young to know when they first watched these shows that these tropes are unrealistic.
This famously applies to the Bible, where we need to see God as an all-good father in-universe, and therefore indoctrinate kids young and invent "faith" as a genre convention to avoid thinking too deeply about His actions. In reality though (out-of-universe" if you will), when you become an ex-Christian, you realize all the ways god acts as a textbook abusive parent (which you can find out more about on the channel, TheraminTrees), and you feel tricked and betrayed by the religion that you taught you to "think" (read: faith) otherwise.
This especially affects media targeted at an audience that “grows up” with the work, such as Manga or YA book series. So if you’re an adult reading Harry Potter or My Hero Academia whatever magic teen fighting book for the first time, you’re going to write that kind of stuff off as the genre conventions and tropes.
But if you’re a kid, you’re going to take these tropes at face value. And then, when you grow up, you suddenly start realizing that this media you’ve been idolizing is actually not as thought out as you imagined it to be as a kid
You’re in that edgey phase where you realize the nuances of what’s wrong with the world and are searching for media to reflect that (which isn’t exactly a priority for the magic teens fighting genre). You’re going to be disappointed and betrayed and frustrated
And itching for an outlet for all that anger—
And thus, many a meta and Dumbledore bashing fics were born.

Who I'm Willing To Write For
I don't know if I'm being paranoid but people seem to be not liking my posts as they usually do. So I'm going to simplify my Masterlist because I haven't written for most of these.
So I'm going to add these here. Remember the characters are color-coded by what Hogwarts house I think they're in and since Tumblr removed the yellow color, Orange will represent Hufflepuff except in the condition of Good Omens' Crowley who I am stuck between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. If you disagree, please give me your best argument and I'll offer my insight of David Tennant's Crowley.
Ninth Doctor - Brooding Time Lord Who Tries To Hide His Light with Darkness
Tenth Doctor - Hyperactive Time Lord Who Is Always Being Slapped Born From His Love For a Human Who Tries To Hide His Darkness and Trauma With Light
Metacrisis Doctor/TenToo (My Headcanon is that he chose the surname "Noble")
Fourteenth Doctor - The Face That Returned, now arguably more Hyperactive and Traumatized
Campbell Bain - Bipolar Nineteen-Year-Old Walking Ray of Sunshine That Somehow Doesn't Do Well With Girls
Alec Hardy (Broadchurch) - Grumpy and Broody Scottish Detective With a Heart Condition yet a Heart of Gold (Doesn't Know He's a DILF)
Emmet Carver (Gracepoint) - The American Version of Alec
Crowley (Good Omens) - A Hyperactive Drama Queen "Vaguely Sauntered Downward" Angel Turned Only Demon with an Imagination
Barty Crouch Junior - The (Possibly Bipolar) Misunderstood Boy Who Never Got His Father's Love and Was Manipulated By Voldemort (I think I read that he was actually a Ravenclaw but I do see a lot of Hufflepuff in him, his insistence of a fair fight and honesty and loyalty)
Peter Vincent (Fright Night) - Hyperactive Alcoholic Magician/Vampire Hunter with a Heart of Gold
Dave Tiler (Single Dad) — The sweetheart dad with too many children with so much love in his heart who fate was so cruel to.
Kilgrave (I've never seen Jessica Jones, I just feel like with him having the same accent and looks the same, it might ruin David Tennant's Doctor for me, and I love David Tennant as the Doctor.)
Cale Erendreich (Bad Samarian; Haven't Seen This Either)
Steve Harrington (Stranger Things) - The Hair; Nomenee for Mother of the Year
Isaac Lahey (Teen Wolf) - The Abused Puppy With a Heart of Gold Who Only Wanted the Power to Defend Himself and To Not Be Scared
Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds) - The Genius Pretty Boy
Raymond Wadsworth
Chip Taylor (68 Kill)
Kyle Orfman
Lesley Juniment-Smith
Thornton "Thorn" Adams (King Knight)
Joe Harper (The Band of Robbers)
Fred Weasley
Yes, there are a lot of David Tennant characters. I don't want to write for the actor himself, I just feel a little creepy doing that. In my numerous Steve Harrington fics, the more recent ones (The OC is always Dustin's older sister, except in one) I think he is the best Doctor and I think he should officially be titled as the biggest Doctor Who Fan ever. (He became an actor because of Doctor Who, he says he thinks he underplays how much he loved Doctor Who, he became the first regenerated Doctor and the first one to last more than one season on the revived Doctor Who, he met his future father-in-law, like a year before he met his wife, Ty Tennant, Georgia's oldest son and David's now adopted son, in 2008, considered the Tenth to be his favorite, and hilariously, his grandfather was nowhere on the five-year-old's list--then David Tennant met Georgia (at the time) Moffat on the set of Doctor Who as she, the daughter of the Fifth Doctor, played the daughter of the Tenth Doctor, I heard that David Tennant met Ty on the set, and according the Peter Davidson, Georgia didn't even realize that he liked her when they started going out (apparently he was offended when she said she hadn't seen any Shakespeare), then David Tennant counts as the unofficial twelfth regeneration (there was the War Doctor who the Doctors deem as not worthy of having the name of the Doctor), then he adopted Ty Tennant and married Georgia; he returned for the 50th and 60th anniversary (and I hope he never stops returning), now is the Fourteenth Doctor, that's three official regenerations, and Good Omens is full of Doctor Who references. I don't think anyone can beat him for the biggest Doctor Who fan. His life like revolves around Doctor Who in a way that every fanboy/fangirl dreams of. *(Can't pinpoint what house Alec Hardy and therefore Emmet Carver would be in, the only blog I've found on it, discussed how he may be a burnt Hufflepuff (just google it, it'll send you to the tumble immediately) but discusses his desperation in season two suggests Gryffindor, also implying his ignoring of his heart condition but he's aware that he has it, so he's gone to the hospital and he takes pills, he's just aware that the doctors told him that he may not survive his surgery to have the pacemaker put in and he feels like he owes it to the families to get the closure they deserve, so it doesn't strike me as impulsive but more dedicated, determined, and "unafraid of toil". Then the blog argues that his need to protect people he views as in his care and how he related to the Sandbrooke case as Slytherin but I don't see that. I think perhaps a "Burned Hufflepuff" is accurate.*

Wizarding World Characters
Decided to make an slightly updated list with my characters across the Wizarding World.
This list spans the Harry Potter Books/Movies, the Hogwarts Legacy Game, the Hogwarts Mystery Game, and a little of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and the Cursed Child! I hope you guys enjoy.
When I say it includes the Cursed Child, I most just mean it's the next generation of Witches and Wizards, not the actual storyline. <3
My version of Hogwarts is a University; all characters are aged up to 18+. For example, all the Hogwarts Legacy 5th years are roughly 21.
~ALL IMAGES USED TO THE COLLAGES/MOOD BOARDS IN THIS POST ARE NOT OWNED BY ME AND WERE FOUND ON PINTEREST~
~THE ONLY PHOTOS OWNED BY ME, ARE IN GAME PHOTOS~
~Hogwarts Legacy Game~
Alice Andromeda Cassowary
She/Her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~Her full name is Alice Andromeda Cassowary. She's named after her Great-Great-Great Grandmother Alice and her Grandmother Andromeda.
~She's in the Hufflepuff house, which she has technically been sorted into twice.
~She was given a journal by Professor Fig to write her feeling out in, after he met her. Inside the journal was a note from Fig that says 'For the things you can't say out loud'.
~She has two younger brothers named George and Killian who are twins.
~Alice actually has a necklace with a Raspberry charm on it. She and her brothers each got a necklace of their favorite fruit as a joke when children, because of their father calling their mother 'Cherry' due to her red hair.
~She's paired with Ominis Gaunt.
~She got the scar across the bridge of her nose from a stray piece of wood from the dragon attack on hers and Fig's carriage to Hogwarts. The Wiggenweld potion closed the wound but left it scarred over.
~Alice is the shortest of these characters, being only 4'10ft/147cm
~Her Patronus is a Saint Bernard. I did this because I thought it'd be funny for a really short Hufflepuff girl to have her Patronus be one of the largest dog breeds.
Karen Heinous
She/Her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~Karen was originally made with an online friend and was based around the specific haircut she wears in-game. We thought it looked like a Karen Haircut.
~Karen's original last name was " 'Murica" as in America, as a nod to a stereotypical American Karen. As a nod to this, her Patronus is an Eagle.
~Karen is distantly related to Headmaster Black through marriage and thinks it makes her super important and above everyone.
~She's in the Slytherin House.
~She has two older sisters, named Amelia and Penelope.
~Karen is 5'4ft/162cm
Marjorie Festus
She/They
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~Marjorie was the hardest to design. I originally wanted to give her black hair, but that made her look too much like a female Harry Potter. I then tried ginger/red hair which made her look too much like a Weasley. She also originally had the Professor Garlick braids hair mod, before I decided against it.
~Marjorie is in Gryffindor, but she was almost placed in Ravenclaw.
~She has a pet Ferret named Charlie.
~Marjorie is a muggle-born student.
~She's 5'9ft/174cm
~Marjorie has an older sister named Erika, who has been her caretaker since their parents died. They've struggled since and Marjorie hopes going to Hogwarts and getting a job in the wizarding world can help ease the stress on her Sister.
~Marjorie has a black hairbow that she always wears. It was given to her by her Sister, Erika.
Diaval Knight
They/Them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~Diaval is Nonbinary, however they are mostly in the closet. Especially when it comes to their family.
~Diaval is a half-blood. Their mother is a Witch and their father † is a Muggle.
~Diaval's mother taught them that showing emotion is weak, as a result, Diaval grew to be incredibly emotionless. They don't know/remember how most emotions feel.
~Diaval is in Ravenclaw.
~They are the tallest of the 4, being 6'3ft/190cm
~They love to play Quidditch and Imelda is their closest friend since they often discuss it together. Diaval plays as a Keeper.
~Diaval hates to wear their robe over their uniform, finding it uncomfortable.
~Hogwarts Mystery Years~
Edalyn 'Eda' Dewey
She/Her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~Edalyn is a Hufflepuff
~She is related to Emeri and Alice. She is Emeri's Second cousin and Alice's Great-Granddaughter
~She's paired with Penny Haywood
~Eda owns a pet Niffler named Rowan. Anyone who has played the game knows the meaning behind this.
~Harry Potter Years/Quidditch Champions~
This includes Quidditch Champions since I decided to replace my previous Hufflepuff Character with the Quidditch Captain I made for the game, as I am OBSESSED with her design.
Emeri Swan Cassowary
She/Her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~The Hogwarts Legacy Photo of Emeri was made for a Mothers Day Twitter/X post
~Emeri is a descendant of my Hogwarts Legacy character Alice Cassowary. Alice is her Great-Great-Grandmother. She had a good relationship with her Great-Great-Grandmother and named her first child Alice.
~Emeri was almost a hatstall. The Sorting Hat couldn’t choose between sorting her in Hufflepuff or Slytherin. It finally decided that Slytherin would challenge her best and sorted her into Slytherin.
~She is a half-blood Witch. Her mother, Andromeda, is mostly Pureblooded, and her father, David, is an American Muggle.
~Due to being half-blooded, Draco would often call her 'Half-a-Witch-Swan'
~Draco would also call her 'Weasley' since her hair is red.
~Funny enough, Emeri is paired with Fred Weasley.
~Fred calls Emeri 'Cherry', due to her Cherry red hair.
~ Fred Weasley's fate was changed due to reasons for my Hogwarts Legacy character's story. He didn't die; instead, Percy Weasley died during the Battle of Hogwarts.
Madelyn Kingsleigh
She/Her
Tumblr media
~If not Obvious, Madelyn is a Ravenclaw.
~She is also paired with Draco.
~And she is a Muggleborn student.
~She was made on a whim of me wanted a character for CharacterAI to have with Draco, and I thought her being a Muggleborn and Draco realizing he loves her despite her bloodstatus was cute.
Willa Avery
She/They
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~Willa is a Hufflepuff
~If anyone saw my previous post for my main HP characters on my Blog @cringefandomtrash, Willa is replacing Wesley.
~Willa is part of the sacred 28. As the Avery's did not canonically have a child, and they're never seen, I figured they'd work. This means she is a Pureblood.
~Since the Avery's were Death Eaters, this does mean they tried forcing Willa into joining, but she fought on the same side as Harry Potter and his friends.
~Willa plays for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team as a Chaser, and is the Quidditch Team Captain.
~She has a Black Cat named Stardust, or Dust for short.
Osmodius Strickler
He/Him
Tumblr media
~Don't have much info on Ozzy, sadly, aside from the following.
~He is a Gryffindor
~He is the descendant of my Hogwarts Legacy Character, Karen Heinous.
~Cursed Child~
Killian Cassowary
He/Him
Tumblr media
~Killian has a necklace with a Lemon charm on it. Killian, his twin brother, and their older sister each got a necklace of their favorite fruit as a joke when children, because of their father calling their mother 'Cherry' due to her red hair.
George Cassowary
He/Him
Tumblr media
~George has a necklace with a Peach charm on it. George, his twin brother, and their older sister each got a necklace of their favorite fruit as a joke when children, because of their father calling their mother 'Cherry' due to her red hair.
~George is named after his Uncle, George Weasley.

Introduce Yourself
Thank you @pugsnotdrugs92 for tagging me 💜😚
My MC is named Aldora Stone, and aside from the name and her purple hair she's just like me, a proud Hufflepuff 🦡💛 She is an American muggle born, her parents jobs move them to London when she was eight.
Now on to me! *Evil laughter*
Favorite Character? I feel like this is obvious, but, Sebastian Sallow has my entire heart and I'll never ask for it back.💚 Fun fact: I played the game on my boyfriends Xbox (which he lovingly let me borrow for an entire month) So naturally I started playing the moment he got it hooked up to my tv. He sat next to me the first time I saw Sebastian, and laughed when I said "He's my new Hogwarts boyfriend" after kicking Sebastian's butt in the duel. He later confessed he knew I would say that, and was only a tiny bit worried I would leave him for a fictional video game character because I talked about him so much. And now we're here. He 100% supports me writing smutty filth about Sebastian because 1.) he's amazing 2.) he knows he's my real life Sebastian, and 3.) he knows that I base 90% of my version of Sebastian off of him.
Least Favorite Character? I want to say Leander, but Everett is starting to surpass him as my least fav these days. But I will always be down for some Leander Slander. ALWAYS.
Favorite Professor? Hecat, she's a badass babe and I wish we could have more time with her.
Least Favorite Professor? I'm going to say Sharp, purely because I feel they could have done so much more with his class and he's so distant with us. He could have been a great side mentor for MC.
Favorite Questline? I'm just going with Sebastians questline because it was nice to see his story progress, but also because I giggled like a moron whenever I was around him, even when he was being a buttface.
Least Favorite Questline? Probably the Dedalian Keys. Just give me the super cool robe, I don't want to work for it! Who do I have to kill to make this happen??
Favorite Beast? I love the Fwoopers, they're so precious and beautiful, but then so are the Jobberknolls, and the Phoenix. I have a weak spot for the birds, I guess.
Least Favorite Beast? Giant purple toads. I absolutely hate toads and frogs. They are my oldest fear and they make apparencies in all of my nightmares.
Favorite Spell? Diffindo! I love slicing my enemies to bits from 50 paces away. That sounded super violent, and I liked it. I also love using Bombarda when I'm right in front of someone...
Least Favorite Spell? I'm gonna go with Descendo because it wasn't violent enough for my taste. None of those flip, slam, push spells were IMO.
Alrighty then, that was fun! Hopefully you guys don't think I'm crazy now 😳🤪

20 Questions Fanfiction edition
@ernestonlysayslovelythings tagged me, thank you.
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
5
2. What’s your total ao3 word count?
100.270
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Gilmore Girls now (but I've written for Young Justice, Harry Potter, X-Men: Evolution, and How to train your dragon in the past)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Since I only have 5 on AO3, all of them are gonna be on this list haha 1. Things I'd never say (283 kudos)
2. Let the games begin (204)
3. Time to party (137)
4. Great last parting lines (43)
5. Warm welcome (3)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do. I love the direct interraction option AO3 offers. Because you can start a conversation, and some other people can comment on other's comments. It's fun. On FF you can only reply to a comment via private message, and it's nice, but doesn't feel the same.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't really write angsty fics, because I don't like to read them. A happy ending is a must for me.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably Insecurities for Young Justice, it had a very cute epilogue.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I don't, thank God. But I got a comment once on Let the games begin on FF from this guest user saying they hated it, because it turned out to be a Jess/Rory fic and they are cousins, so the smut is gross because they are related. And I was like, dude, it said in the description that it's a smutty Jess/Rory fic, what did you expect? *facepalm*
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do. A very descriptive one. I know some people don't like it, but my personal preference in reading smut is the more descriptive and detailed, the better. So, I guess I'm writing what I'd like to read myself.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written?
I don't. It seems like a lot of work, and I would also have to have a vast knowledge in both universes to write a believable crossover. But I had an idea once for a crossover between How to train your dragon and Harry Potter. Like Hiccup and the gang get into Hogwarts, what houses they would be sorted into and stuff like that, it was fun to think about.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No. Although I published a story for XME that I initially wrote in my native language a long time ago in a notepad. And a few years later I found that notepad, translated the story into English and posted it. Does that count?
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! My first ever American friend was a FF user who commented on my story. I replied, we started texting, became fast friends, and soon after were writing a story together. First, just for fun, and then for posting. It was such a great experience!
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I don't know really... Now I'm super invested in Jess/Rory, but I was really into Lance/Kitty (XME), and Wally/Artemis (YJ). I can't choose. Maybe Wally/Artemis, because I've written for them the most?
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I don't think I have any. I only have one WIP in the works, which is Things I'd never say, and I am determined to finish it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I don't know. Is that even for me to decide? I like writing inner monologue, I like diving into a character's thought process. Also, I'm better at one-shots than multi-chaptered fics.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Developing an overall plot for a long story. Also, English is not my first language, so oftentimes I struggle with the word choice. And I also think I don't follow this rule of 'show, not tell' very well. I feel like there are a lot of things I tell in my story rather than showing them, but I'm trying to work on that.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I think it can get really confusing, especially if an author doesn't give a translation immidiately after inserting that into the text. Not all of the readers speak that language.
19. First fandom you ever wrote for?
X-Men: Evolution, but I didn't publish it. It was just in my notepad. The first one I posted for was Harry Potter.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Probably Things I'd never say. It's my most thought out and planned and edited story. And it's also the most commented on with the most kudos. And it's the longest one. So I'm trying to live my dream of writing a multi-chaptered fic.

Whenever I click the link I can't see the mastermind of the rules it just shows me the homepage D:
That's strange. It works for me and for other people I know^^' I'll put everything here for you :)
!RULES AND MASTERLIST!
RULES:
- Please specify whether you want a Romantic or Platonic and Yandere or Non-Yandere character in your request.
- Be sure to always specify the gender of the reader and sexuality. If not, I will write a gender-neutral reader and decide on the sexuality myself based on the request.
- If you want multiple characters being with the reader, please use these words to describe better what you mean in the request: Polyamory, if you want the characters sharing to also be romantic with each other. And use the word: Sharing, if you want the characters participating in the relationship to only be romantic with the reader and not also with each other. (If you don’t understand my explanation, type below or message me and I’ll use an example to explain it better for you :))
- This also applies to platonic relationships. You’ll only have to tell me it’s platonic and use either the word: Polyamory, to indicate that the 2 characters are together but not including the reader. Or use the word: Sharing if the whole relationship is strictly platonic and no one is romantic with each other. (If you don’t understand my explanation, type below or message me and I’ll use an example to explain it better for you :))
- I don’t mind writing NSFW/Smut.
- No incest. Relationship’s between family members whether related or not will always be platonic when it comes to the reader or ships.
- I’m okay with writing ships, but only if I agree with them. I don’t think I would be able to write for a ship I don’t like or care for. Sorry^^’
- Character limit is 4 (But if you want to for example request a group of characters like the Ninjago gang in one, then I'll make an exception to those).
- I do not write for oc's, so when requesting please make sure you don't accidenlty end up requesting for an oc. It's fine if you add some backstory or characteristics to the reader if it's for the sake of a request. But if your request looks something like this: "I'd like to request x with reader who's name is Megan, has long blonde hair and blue eyes and hates the color pink and horse rides etc." Then I'm sorry but at this point you're describing an oc and I won't do the request for you if that's the case, sorry.

7, 10, and 32!
oh boy oh boy ok
7. tell us about the plot of the first fanfic you ever wrote
LMAO ok so i wrote my first fic when i was 12; it was a self-insert fic for the harry potter fandom that had one of those standard "american exchange student comes to hogwarts" starting points. it involved the self-insert oc being sorted into slytherin and being a "good guy" but largely (and unnecessarily??) dismissive of the main characters while somewhat rehabilitating the house's image, and of course having a thing with resident shitface draco malfoy. i wrote it frantically in a notebook at every opportunity straight through beginning to end and the second i finished it i went "well that was garbage" and went across town to throw it away in a dumpster where no one would ever link it to me if they found it.
10. at what point in the process do you come up with titles, and how easy or hard is that for you?
usually i don't come up with titles until i hit "post" on ao3 and it goes "ummm sweatie you have to have a title for this," which is always startling. occasionally a title will come to me towards the end before i actually go to ao3 but not often. usually they have "working" titles while i'm writing but that would suck as actual titles ("a dickle pickle" got to keep its working title and is i think the only one that has been released into the wild without having a slightly more respectable title slapped onto it at the last minute in recent memory). titling sucks and i hate it <3
32. do characters influence your writing style?
oh HUGELY. i would say character perspective is one of the top 3 things i pay attention to while i'm writing; it's one of my favorite things to try to get into a character's head and comment on the things happening in scenes the way i imagine they would experience them. much of the fun for me is flipping between poetical and ethereal for some characters, pragmatic and direct for others, introspective and wafting for others, sarcastic and pointed for others, etc. i'm rarely aiming for "this sounds exactly like how this character talks;" i don't aspire to be a perfect chameleon, but putting distinctive flairs on the narration style based on the pov character is a major part of writing to me, yeah

Not exactly an FFWF ask (and I’d be late for that anyway) but seeing the renewed hype about Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy - do you think we’ll ever see you on this side of the fandom?
Seeing a fashion expert like you play with the late 19th century fashion would be a joy to behold 🥰
Short answer: No.
Long answer: No, because
1) I still have plenty of stories I want to write with Alice and I don't want to divide the little writing time I have between her story and another character's story.
2) While the graphics of the game are indeed gorgeous (I watched the recent gameplay trailer) and that I would be tempted to buy it, it would mostly be to get a better feel of Hogwarts and therefore improve my description of it in my HPHM fics.
3) The plot of the game and the characters in it are still too vague for me to even imagine a story or a character set in that universe. Not to mention that the little we know about the plot vaguely resembles what I might have in store for Alice. (The only thing HPHL inspired me to do was to develop the background of Alice's "Irish" grandmother.)
4) I would not be able to create my fashion sets like I do for Alice as finding 19th century clothes to create sets would limit me to what museums have and whether or not we can see their collection online. Even modern clothes inspired by 19th century fashion would not be easy to find and might still be too modern to credibly exist in the late 19th century.
5) Having to write 19th century style dialogues... In French, I might be able to, but in English, I have my doubts. For now, I'll stick to trying not to put American slang in the mouths of the HPHM characters.
I would be lying if I said I didn't feel slightly excluded when I see everyone talking about their HPHL characters and see a discord group being created for that fandom. But, I've been in the HPHM fandom since the early days, so I know this feeling will pass and that I don't even enjoy Discord groups anyway. So the closest I'll ever be to HPHL is if I buy the game, but I'll probably just create a 19th-century version of Alice (not her ancestor).

Big Fan // Oliver Wood x Reader
Hey! My first Harry Potter imagine on here, pretty excited!! Request some HP characters for my recent HP kick ;)
Summary - Reader transfers from Ilvermorny to Hogwarts and is excited to see her favorite quidditch player.
Word Count - 1.1k
Tumblr media
Things like this weren't usually allowed, or frowned upon at the very least. But I was NOT about to apparate all the way across the world every morning to get to Ilvermorny.
So I transferred to Hogwarts.
Which was probably the most anxiety inducing thing possible, especially starting as a 6th year. But it was for the best.
So here I was, sitting in my new headmasters, Albus Dumblores, office being sorted privately. He set the ancient brown hat upon my head, I felt it immediately move.
"You have very strong signs of leadership!" It shouted, startling who I now knew as Professor McGonagall, who drew her books closer to her chest.
"Thank you?" I replied back quietly.
"But I don't think you belong there... But above leadership you have courage, chivalry, and nerve. I believe you belong to, Gryffindor!" Another shout bellowed from, well, wherever this hats lungs were.
It was weird being sorted like this. It was weird and much simpler than how we did it in America. I remember the anxiety I had being brought into the sorting room.
*"Y/n Y/l/n, it's your turn!" I heard our headmaster, Agilbert Fontaine, shout as he peered over a piece of paper. My hands pulled at the ponytail that sat at the back of my head. A blue and maroon tie hung around my neck and a navy skirt swishes by my knees.*
*The room was dimly lit, 4 carvings stood in front of me. I knew them as the Thunderbird, Wampus, Horned Serpent and Pukwudgie. I hadn't been hoping for any certain house, but I certainly would like to be placed in the same my parents had been in.*
*Thunderbird.*
*But as I stood, thumbs twiddling and feet scuffing the floor, one reacted to me quite obviously.*
*"Wampus it is!" Mr. Fontaine announced with glory, leading me out of the room to bring in the next.*
My family had always called me the prettiest black sheep of the family, the only one sorted outside of Thunderbird. Yet they were still so proud of me. But now I was a Gryffindor, brave and proud.
"I will gather a uniform for you and set it in your dormitory. Percy Weasley, one of the Gryffindor prefects, will take you to your common room." Just as she said so, th boy I assumed was Percy waltzed into the room. He had a large round nose and true red hair.
"Hello Miss y/l/n, right this way." He lead me through the spacious halls to my new common room, it was covered by a portrait he called 'The Fat Lady.'
"You have to give her a password in order to get in, this year its 'wattlebird.'" The Lady nodded her head at Percy and opened the canvas to reveal a red themed room.
The air was warm and welcoming, and I felt a feeling of calm wash over me. I haven't felt like this for a while, so maybe this really *was* the right place for me. Across the room a boy with black hair sat, round glasses laid upon his nose. He wore a black robe with red insides.
"That's Harry Potter, second year. He's kind of famous around here." Percy pointed to the boy who gave a small wave and turned back to his book with a red face. I had read about Harry, he was quite the hero, even for a baby.
"Girls dormitories are up those stairs, your uniform should already be up there. But I wouldn't bother changing into it considering how late it is. Curfew is 10 pm." And with that, he was off. I hopped up the stairs, finding my room and locating my freshly ironed robe. Deciding to listen to Percy, I changed into sweatpants and a tshirt, heading down the the common room to sit in front of the fire. And I was prepared to do just that, sit quietly by the fire with a quidditch book grasped in my hand. But instead, before my feet could hit the last step, I heard a voice.
"Interested in quidditch eh?" My head was brought up to see short brown hair, brown eyes and a cute button nose.
I know that face.
"Are you Oliver Wood?!" I could barely contain myself, shamelessly. His eyebrows knit together in confusion.
"Yes?" I hadn't expected him to be scottish, I loved the accent. But to be fair, any accent amazed me being American.
"I'm a big fan!" It was probably a foreign thing to him, I'm sure he didn't get it a lot. Probably even *weirder* coming from an American, considering we don't even have Quidditch at Ilvermorny. We have Quodpot. But I had come to Scottland a few years back to see a quidditch game, my dad had insisted on it. And it happened to be Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff. I was mesmerized by how well Oliver played and hoped to meet him one day.
And here he was.
Staring at me.
Because I was frozen in thought.
I slowly brought my hand out for a handshake, and he took it with a firm grip.
"Would you mind if I asked how you know me?" A hint of suspicion behind his voice.
"Oh! I came here my third year because my dad loves Quidditch, but I couldn't see it in America. So we came here. And I loved to see how effortlessly you played, you're amazing!" I was turning into a whole fangirl, and I could my face turning more red with each word. I tried to hide it by swishing my hair further into my face.
"Really? I don't think I was even very good my third year." His head was now leaning on the doorframe next to us. He was a lot easier to talk to than I thought.
"I beg to differ." I laughed hugging my book to my chest. "Tryouts are soon right? I better get to practicing." His arm was brought around his neck, ears reddening just to the point where I could tell.
"Maybe I could help you out, teach you a few things?" I couldn't think of a better day.
"Hey Wood! Already flirting with the new girl?" I heard a teasing voice come from across the room. Oliver's face reddened greatly, his face contorting into an angry expression.
"Shut up Fred!" His teeth were grit at the seemingly younger red haired boy. His hands shot up in defense and went back to whatever he was doing.
"I would love some help." I assured him, my hand touching his shoulder. "Thank you." And with that I was off to my own corner of my room.
*Maybe moving schools was a great idea.*

Hey anyone reading this! If you like my writing I JUST started writing for HP again so request! I'm part of many fandoms!

Harry Potter and the PHILOSOPHER'S stone
Tumblr media
Rate: 5/5
Synopsis:
Harry Potter's life is miserable. His parents are dead and he's stuck with his heartless relatives, who force him to live in a tiny closet under the stairs. But his fortune changes when he receives a letter that tells him the truth about himself: he's a wizard. A mysterious visitor rescues him from his relatives and takes him to his new home, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
After a lifetime of bottling up his magical powers, Harry finally feels like a normal kid. But even within the Wizarding community, he is special. He is the boy who lived: the only person to have ever survived a killing curse inflicted by the evil Lord Voldemort, who launched a brutal takeover of the Wizarding world, only to vanish after failing to kill Harry.
Though Harry's first year at Hogwarts is the best of his life, not everything is perfect. There is a dangerous secret object hidden within the castle walls, and Harry believes it's his responsibility to prevent it from falling into evil hands. But doing so will bring him into contact with forces more terrifying than he ever could have imagined.
Full of sympathetic characters, wildly imaginative situations, and countless exciting details, the first installment in the series assembles an unforgettable magical world and sets the stage for many high-stakes adventures to come.
Side note: Please note that I started rereading the series before J.K. Rowling shared her views in regard to the Trans Gender community. I will forever love this series and her other writing but I do not agree with her view. Harry Potter has always been my safe place and like the characters I will always support the equal rights for all.
Review:
As anyone who knows me quickly realizes, I have a deep love for Harry Potter. Like it could be described as an obsession. So, I have decided to reread all 8 books for the first time in 4 years and let me tell you it's like coming home. The first book was really short compared to the others but very beautifully written. This being the umpteenth time I have read it I can actually see the planning J.K. Rowling put into the story. She uses amazing descriptions and with the knowledge I have now it explains alot. Even though this is the millionth time I have read the book, I have never read all the American publications and its interesting the little changes they made. Like mom and mum or trunk and boot. But the most frustrating is philosopher's and sorcerer's. Which I refuse to call the first book by the American publication name. I don't remember these changes in the later books but I will keep and eye out for it. Now, moving on to book two.

Okay so I have finished all the Harry Potter books, so here is my ranking of them. Please note there isn't a bad book in the bunch so if your favorite is low, I'm not saying it isn't good
7) Half Blood Prince
Tumblr media
So, some book had to be last, and for me it's quite easy to pick this one. It has really good moments; when this book gets it right, it gets it really right, but the thing is is that this book is far too light hearted for this point in the series. It's basically just a romantic comedy with the occasional murder and Voldemort's backstory. Some people defend it by saying that it doesn't matter if there's a war going on, teenagers will still worry about who is kissing who. And that's a solid point to make, but Harry shouldn't be worries about it. Not after all he has been through. Speaking of Harry;
The thing that disappoints me the most in this book is how they just forgot about Harry's trauma. With everything this boy goes through, he should have a lot trauma, and this is the only book they forgot about it. I know, a huge part of Harry's character is that despite all he has been through he remains as pure as he was when he was 11, and how much he loves is remarkable because of all he has been through. But he can still be pure and traumatized at the same time and the other books had him be both beautifully. This book really just kind of made Harry a one dimensional character. And what doesn't help is how Ron and Hermione arguably should be traumatized too following the end of Order of the Phoenix. And they should not be so against the idea that Draco could be a death eater
6) Chamber of Secrets
Tumblr media
This book kinda just feels like Sorcerer's (Philosopher if you aren't American like me) stone but not as good. The trio are still at the age where they can't handle anything too too dark, but the petrifying of people was a bit unoriginal to be honest. But! The quieter more character driven moments are great and this is the first time we see a horcrux (that isn't Harry) even though we don't know it
5) Sorcerer's Stone
Tumblr media
The writing is a bit childish in this one, but it's a perfect first entry. It's magical and fun and really just classic. Little 11 year old Harry not believing he is a wizard and thinking they must have the wrong Harry is iconic
4) Order of the Phoenix
Tumblr media
This book is a sad read between Harry's trauma, no one believing him, the connection between him and Voldemort coming on full swing, and obviously Sirius' death and than Harry's subsequent breakdown after. It just gets it so right though. It drags on at times but it's so good it's hard to care, the occulemency lessons to be amazing as well. It's just so interesting
I also like how this book brings in the horcrux inside Harry starting to influence him. Of course the horcruxes take the negative feelings the closes soul to it is feeling and exaggerates it and emphasizes it, making the soul do things they wouldn't normally do, so Harry when he is angry always did things he wouldn't normally do, but this is the first time it starts to really impact him when he is angry because of trauma from goblet of Fire, he angers easily, and it's written so well
3) Prisoner of Azkaban
Tumblr media
A lot of people have this at number one, I see why, the dementors and the patronus spell are soooo cool and this is the book that brings in Sirius who lots of people, including me, love. I adore this book so much but the thing is is that I don't quite love it as much as my top 2
2) Deathly Hallows
Tumblr media
This pains me so much to put this at 2 and not 1, but the camping bit dragged on for way too damn long. But this book is absolutely incredible. The feeling of insafety sets in right a fucking way with Voldemort deciding that he is going to kill Harry in the most brutal way possible and that feeling of unsafety doesn't let up until the end. The Gringotts breakin is amazing. Harry, Hermione, and Ron's capture at Malfoy Manor is amazing. The battle of Hogwarts is amazing. Snape's backstory is amazing. Harry sacrificing himself is the most emotionally devastating thing I have ever read in fiction and I have never cried more at a work of fiction. Harry coming back is amazing and even how he tells Voldemort to feel remorse so he will be redeemed shows how pure and loving Harry is, even after what he has been through to the series he STILL isn't consumed with the hatred to want to kill him. And than he doesn't even kill Voldemort, he disarms him and the curse bounces back and hits Voldemort instead of Harry. This book is so harrowing and uplifting at the same time, I don't think I have ever read anything like it and that's why it pains me so much to put it second, but the camping bit is just too long
1) Goblet of Fire
Tumblr media
The book where the series famously takes a dark turn is also its best. This is the book that has such a great mystery, with how we don't know who put Harry's name in to the goblet or why, we don't know at this point whether Harry's dreams about Voldemort are real or not, and dark things keep happening up until the moment Voldemort's kidnap of Harry is successful and he kills Cedric along the way. But this is also a really fun story with the Triwizard Tournament and the Yule Ball, it is such a perfect blend of darkness and fun
And it also has amazing emotional moments like the hospital scene once Dumbledore saves Harry. That is probably my favorite Harry Potter scene, the hospital after Harry's capture with the minister not believing Harry, and all these people who are unlikely allies deciding to work together to stop Voldemort and death eaters and protect Harry, and Mrs Weasley hugging Harry in particular is a standout in the scene. This book is just what I will instantly think of when I hear Harry Potter

Why do you think the Animorphs fandom doesn't have as many AU stories as some of the other fandoms? I don't mean non-cannon stories, but those where the characters are taken from the Yeerk Invasion concept enitrely and dropped into another sandbox: coffeeshop AU, Hogwarts AU, etc. Even really common additions to the cannon world such as soulmate AUs seem to be less used with Animorphs. Any thoughts as to why?
Reason 1: The characters are 13.
Technically they grow up to ages 16 - 19 before dying horribly the series ends, but their problems and concerns are very much those of actual early adolescents.  They don’t drive (not even cheat-driving with mopeds or helicars like in other teen superhero stories), they don’t go on real dates, they don’t have jobs, and they don’t use money except for occasional emergency purchases of shoes or tacos.
Obviously that doesn’t preclude the protagonists from suffering through romantic clichés, but it means that there’s less material to work with than in a series such as Harry Potter or Supernatural where the characters do have these kinds of classic adult concerns.  It also means that (and fandalites are classy af so they tend to recognize this) there’s an inherent squick factor in hardcore romance, even in AUs where the characters have been aged to 18+.
Reason 2: There are no love triangles.
Probably the closest we get is Rachel realizing in #27 that she has romantic options other than Tobias… which leads to her realizing that Tobias has what she wants and needs in a romantic partner, whereas a civilian guy simply doesn’t.  Other than that, we have the moment in #44 where Cassie realizes that she’s flirting with Yami… which sets up the realization that Cassie might be better off with someone who has more capacity than Jake to make her happy.  No one cheats, no one fights rivals, and no one experiences much jealousy.
Characters dealing with their romantic feelings in mostly-healthy mostly-transparent ways, whether in or out of relationships, doesn’t leave much room for rom-com miscommunications and the like.  Ergo, there’s no room for characters being forced to date or to confess their feelings by circumstance.  Even Jake and Cassie’s unhealthy dynamic remains unhealthy for, like, a book and a half, before they have an amicable post-breakup goodbye in #53.  Not much room for romantic angst.  Speaking of which…
Reason 3: Do we really need MORE angst?  REALLY?
This series is about six mostly well-adjusted kids having their entire lives destroyed by the horrors of war.  If angst is your jam, there’s no need to add it by introducing backstory elements or hurt-comfort premises that we didn’t already see in canon.  You can literally just grab that time Jake watched his cousin drag his internal organs off the ceiling (#16), that time Cassie killed an innocent prisoner of war on reflex (#19), that time Tobias was tortured into insanity (#33), those times Marco committed matricide (#15, #30, Visser) and you’re off to the races.  A lot of fan fiction tropes are all about angst (Tony Stark’s dad never loved him, Stiles Stilinski wishes he was special, etc.) and where Animorphs is concerned, there’s really no need.  On a similar note…
Reason 4: Adding ridiculous humor would be redundant.
This is a series where running gags include (but are not limited to): the hawk kid getting his talons stuck to cetaceans when he tries to acquire them, “These Messages” (e.g. commercials) and CinnaBon being the only artistic creations of humanity worth saving, the main villain of the series being a Cat Person, all the Animorphs debating whether it’s cannibalism to eat fried chicken in seagull morph, the resident alien being unsure whether vinegar and motor oil count as beverages, and the kids getting out of obligations with excuses that range from “I have to go buy a nicotine patch before I become a teen smoker” to “my cousin — and not the one you’re thinking — just got into a fistfight with a six-year-old over Raisinets.”  Coffee shop humor, de-aging humor, and other whacky fan fic premises simply can’t top what we already have.  Not only that, but a lot of the whackier fun AUs — animal transformation AU, gender mashup AU, evil twin AU — have already been done in canon.
Reason 5: The cast is already pretty tight.
By this I mean that the cast is tight in that there are few wasted or tangential characters, and that the cast is tight in that there are few intragroup conflicts.  It’s not really possible to “break” the dynamic in ways that would feel organic (e.g. Civil War AU) without losing a ton of what makes the series itself.  There are also relatively few minor characters that one can add to the original six’s dynamic in meaningful ways (although yours truly is guilty of trying), because they’re so isolated and codependent.  Writing AUs in which the characters just meet for the first time during the fic is... possible, but IMHO would feel deeply weird.
It’s also a fairly fundamental aspect of what makes Animorphs unique that there are no mentors anywhere in the series.  The kids get occasional information from Erek or the YPM, but they have NO ONE they can turn to if they want to ask for advice.  ALL of their attempts to seek mentors end in said adults revealing themselves to be incompetent (Elfangor, Gonrod, Ithileran), morally bankrupt (Alloran, Arbat), unwilling to help because they have their own agendas (the Ellimist, Toby, Aldrea), or simply less experienced in relevant areas than the kids themselves are (Eva, Jara, Mr. Tidwell, Sam Doubleday).  It is possible to add adult characters to the team through crossovers or other AUs — but to do so is to fundamentally alter the structure of the series.
Reason 6: The plot is already pretty tight.
Animorphs isn’t a perfect piece of coherent plotting, but it also doesn’t have any huge glaring plot holes.  There’s nothing that the whole fandom agrees needs to be “fixed”: some people want Cassie to be wrong more often, some people would like direct queerness, some people dislike the tragic ending, some people think the late-middle sags, some people want more Tobias-narrated books, some people (*cough* me) want the series to be 55 books long so that Rachel gets to narrate one last story… None of these represents a majority opinion, the way that the “what have you done to our Jaime Lannister!?!?!?” outcry is currently dominating the Game of Thrones fandom to the tune of 800,000+ signatures on the world’s silliest Change.Org petition.
The events of the series follow pretty logically from one another, which means that there aren’t tons of divergences on a single theme, and also that it’s pretty easy to invent divergence points from canon itself.  There are occasional modern AUs and college-age AUs, but a lot of the time they have to differ dramatically from the source work to pull off the effect.
Here’s where I acknowledge my bias: I dislike the majority of super-popular AU ideas.  Some strike me as harmless romantic clichés (hatebanging AU, accidental dating AU) or wealthy-American-kid clichés (college AU, wedding AU).  Some strike me as sacrificing character for plot (fake married AU, sword-and-sorcery AU) or not having much plot at all (wedding planner AU, elaborate-miscommunication AU).  Some are downright problematic in their magical codification of power dynamics (omegaverse, sex pollen) or deeply concerning consent issues by definition (soul mates, coffee shop AU).  Most of them are perfectly good story ideas, but most of them are not to my taste.
All of these AU ideas can be done well and have been done well, because every cliché becomes a cliché by being genuinely brilliant until overused.  I mostly avoid these stories anyway because too many of them are plagued by setting rather than motivation forcing the characters to go from Point A to Point B or even forcing the characters to become romantically involved.  So there is a distinct possibility that there are Animorphs stories out there that use these ultra-popular AUs, and I just haven’t encountered them.

Jordan relished the time she got alone in the library. The late nights hunched over laptop, either catching up on whatever fanfiction she had bookmarked or writing up her own. It calmed her, made her feel warm inside. Despite the fact it was still writing, it wasn’t writing she had to follow rules for, she was working with pre-made characters in a pre-made world.
All Jordan had to do was write.
But tonight was different. Annisa, a girl from Indonesia Jordan had been talking to online for a few months had totally ghosted. No contact for nearly a week and no reasoning why. It was driving her insane. Had she done something wrong?
Her face lit blue from her screen, Jordan tried to push her shoulders down, relieve some of the stress that sat up there.
And then her brother had posted those old pictures on Facebook, of Jordan in the pool. Days before her accident. The caption saying how cool she was, how graceful she was, how much potential she had. Past tense. What was she to him now? Her family didn’t even pretend to care about her writing anymore, they just smiled and nodded. And, God, it hurt.
Her hands gripping tight around the edge of the table and eyes clenched shut as if preparing for some kind of blow, Jordan’s heart leaped.
A sound rang in her ears, not the music that seemed to be everywhere nowadays, but voices, deep in the back of her head. Her family pretending to care about the things she liked, all the other girls on the swim team blocking on her Instagram when she turned ‘weird’, her coach sounding so disappointed that she’d never swim again.
She just wanted something that was hers. Jordan wasn’t a person; she was an interest. What was she without Harry Potter? Who had she been without swimming? What neurotic obsession was going to be next? Why couldn’t she just be person, why was she always something?
And her brother always told her that. How before she was stronger, smarter, cooler, better.
He’d laugh it off, frame it as some kind of sibling banter. But Jordan never laughed.
Something hot ran up her spine, all the way behind her eyes.
“Don’t you disrespect me, little man! Don’t you derogate or deride,” shehissed, shooting up from her seat. The room was cold, empty. She could feeleyes on her. Her parents. Her brother. Her classmates. Herself.

“You’re in my world now, not your world. And I got friends on the other side.”
Jordan turned on her heels, facing blackness as if she was facing an endless corridor. Something she’d find in Hogwarts.
‘She’s got friends on the other side,’ someone echoed from the nothingness and Jordan couldn’t help but swallow hard. “A little parlor trick, don’t worry,” she mumbled to no one.
Shaking herself out of her stupor, Jordan walked, nothing appearing around her no matter how much she moved.
Then, suddenly, there was something else in the back of her mind.
“The cards, the cards, the cards will tell…” the nothingness called.
“The past, the present and the future as well,” Jordan sang back, eyes racing around in hopes something, someone, anything would appear.
“The cards, the cards, just take three. Take a little trip into your future with me…”

Jordan faced a young man. He was tall, his dirty blonde hair pushed off his face and wearing a well-worn Ohio Bobcats uniform. She
“Now you, young man, are from across the sea, you come from two long lines of royalty.” She circled the man, translating the words in American Sign Language as she did.
“Your lifestyle’s high but your funds are low.” Jordan stopped in front of him, dragging out the sign for ‘low’ as long as she could, watching his eyes follow her hands down. His face remained emotionless.
“You need to marry a little honey who’s daddy got dough.”
Jordan cocked an eyebrow. “Mom and dad cut you off, huh, playboy?”
Something flashed in front of Jordan’s eyes, filling up the dark. Her brother, the fights he’d get into with their parents, the girl from the hockey team, the engagement, the threats of deterring his application to Ohio University, the shotgun wedding. All while Jordan had locked herself in her room and moped and read herself away into a new personality.
She could’ve done something to help.
Or he could’ve gone to her. He could’ve asked how she was. No one did anything.
Jordan shook the image away as quickly as it came.
“Now y'all better get hitched but hitching ties you down. You just want to be free, hop from place to place.”
Turning away from her not-quite-brother, Jordan found herself in front of another blank yet familiar face. Her own.
“But in your future the you I see,” Jordan sang out to the mirror image of her face, hand extended, “Is exactly the you you always wanted to be…”

“Hey! Kid!”
Jordan startled forward, turning herself around as quick as she could. It was just the librarian. That’s right, she was finishing up that chapter…
“The library is meant to be a quiet place, if you want to sing and monologue you can go to the choir rooms,” the librarian scolded before turning back to the shelf across from her.
Jordan scurried to pick up her things as quickly as she could, her heart racing fast. She did her best to stay positive as much as she could. And she loved her brother, and he loved her. The Stern family were ride of die. Where the hell did all of that come from?
It was just late, that was all. And she was over thinking things. It was stupid.
As she headed out of the room, the strange echo in the back of her head faded away with a final cry.
“You got what you wanted. What you want’s what you get.”
