Hot take: Pricefield, while having an amazing ship/dynamic between two characters I love, but has one of the most toxic fanbases in the fandom.
When I dared to say I prefer Amberprice and Grahamfield, I was called stupid and sent ableist slurs and hate from vile anons
Someone I used to follow and liked, REALLY turned me off from the fandom. Said person said the picture of Max and Chloe is the “only valid thing about LIS 2” and when I dared to say what positive representation it brought to Latinx, saying it had an accurate portrayal of racism/police brutality, positive Bi and Pan representation, positive MLM or literally anything about LIS 2 I loved is just as valid as that Max and Chloe picture, I was told “thats ur opinion which u are perfectly welcome to share on ur own blog”
To the Pricefield fans who belittled and insulted Life Is Strange 2 and diminished what it represented because it did not feature Max and Chloe or just wanted it catered to you. You aren’t the only one who deserves to be represented. Good representation does not end with white lesbians. Latinx people deserved the representation they got in Sean and Daniel. Gay, Bi and Pan Men deserved the representation they got with Sean, Finn, Jacob, Arthur & Stanley.
I honestly hope DONTNOD never listens and cowtows to these fans ever, keep making different stories in the Life Is Strange universe, because as far as I’m concerned the people behind the games should not be bullied into submission by a fandom who throws a goddamn hissy fit whenever they never do what they want and try to diminish what they are trying to make.

miasswier’s ultimate glee ranking: no 36
36: The First Time
Written by: Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa Directed by: Bradley Buecker
Overall Thoughts: This is one of those episodes where the Klaine of it all kind of blinds me a little. Listen, I know it’s not actually that great of an episode, but I love it. I’ve watched it a thousand times and I know I’ll watch it a thousand more. It’s basically the first good episode of season three, and considering what it follows, it really shines. As always, there are definitely things I don’t like about it, but the Klaine of it all really outranks everything I dislike; plus, there’s a few other little details that I enjoy.
What I Like:
Sebastian is hereeeeeee. He’s an asshole, but I love him.
Karofsky is back! I’m glad they didn’t just ship him off into oblivion after “Prom Queen”, and I like his scene with Kurt here.
When Kurt is done talking to Karofsky and looks over at Blaine, who is staring at him and literally begging him to come dance with him, and then Kurt gets between him and Sebastian, and the fucking face he makes at Sebastian when he keeps trying to get on Blaine’s other side fuck.
The scene in Blaine’s bedroom. We so, so rarely got to see what Kurt and Blaine’s relationship was like behind closed doors. In fact, we so rarely got to see what any relationship was like behind closed doors, seeing as most scenes, even between couples, on this show take place either at McKinley or Breadstix. So it’s really cool to see them just goofing off and being the giant fucking dorks that they are.
“That’s why they invented masturbation”
Listen, I have as many mixed feelings about that backseat of the car scene as anybody, but can we all just agree that at least it gave us Blaine looking into Kurt’s eyes and saying, in a raspy voice, “I want you. I want you so bad.”
“I just want to live here and make art and help people.”
I LOVE when Tina is telling Rachel about how she lost her virginity to Mike. It’s such a sweet moment, and I think it’s one of the only times a girl on this show actually talks about the fact that she had a good first time and really enjoyed the sex.
Also, speaking of Tina, her outfit for West Side Story is just… damn. I actually have a very specific memory of watching this episode for the first time and literally getting a full body shiver when I saw her. I think that’s the first time my body visibly reacted to the sight of a beautiful woman. Fuck me.
Mike’s mom coming to see him in the play!
Coach Beiste being so fucking oblivious to Cooter’s romantic attempts. Because literally me.
The cute moment when everyone gives Artie flowers and thanks him for all he’s done. I don’t know why they don’t show boys getting flowers on TV more often? Look how fucking happy he is.
I do like the scene in the auditorium between Kurt and Blaine after the show. It’s nice to actually hear them talking out the argument they had, and hear Blaine apologize for how he behaved. I wish they could have done this more often throughout the show.
Also, Kurt’s breathy “I want to go to your house” and Blaine’s eyes all wide and excited, “Okay”
Finn freaking out because he thinks it’s all over for him. Fuck, that’s such an amazing scene. Probably one of the best Finn scenes ever. He absolutely kills it, and it always brings a tear to my eye because it’s so raw and real. The most relatable Finn moment, actually.
What I Don’t Like:
Artie getting involved in Beiste’s love life, literally going as far as to ask if Beiste has ever had sex. What the fuck. He’s a student? That’s so goddamn inappropriate.
Actually, the fact that Artie told Blaine and Rachel they needed to have sex to really understand the roles of Maria and Tony is kind of gross too. Just, not good advice, at all. And super inappropriate, and also highkey none of his business.
I always seem to forget about that awful rape joke about Brittany. Ugh.
The fact that they cut that mash-up of You Spin Me Right Round/Do You Really Wanna Hurt Me that Klaine was going to sing. That would have been awesome and I’m sad.
They kind of do the same thing they do in “The Break-Up” here, where they set it up for Finchel and Klaine to equally be the A plot, but it’s really obvious that Finchel is the A plot and Klaine is the B plot. It just feels like they didn’t know how to do a single episode of this show that involved a gay couple in any way without shoving Finchel in particular down our collective throats.
The way they go about the set-up for the Finchel sex makes me really angry and uncomfortable. They try and talk their way out of it, but they can’t, they’ve already said it: Rachel is giving Finn her virginity to make him feel better about not getting recruited. AND, before she was planning on doing it to be a better actress. Like, I don’t get what was so hard about “Hey Finn, I love you and am ready to have sex with you,” like why couldn’t that be the reason? Why did they have to do it in such a way that it’s literally just a pity fuck to make Finn feel better. Considering they made such a huge stink about Rachel saving it for the right guy and “for a girl it’s a big deal” they really fucked her over.
I’m not as annoyed about Klaine, but it does sort of frustrate me that, again, the reason for their having sex wasn’t just “I love you and am ready”. They had a fight, and now they made up, and while they both made it clear earlier in the episode that they are ready to have sex, I still think it kind of feels weird that they basically did it as a way to make up. I have nothing against make-up sex, trust me, but for your first time? I don’t know.
When this episode first came out, I loved the Cooter/Beiste storyline. Now that we’ve seen how it plays out, I want to claw my eyes out every time he is on screen. Especially watching Artie push Cooter to ask Beiste out again.
Okay, look, there were not enough Latinx characters on this show to pull off West Side Story. They pulled a few out of their ass for the “America” number, but really, they still had a lot of non-Latinx characters as Sharks. Honestly, they didn’t even have enough people of colour to pull off an “ethnic Sharks vs white Jets” deal. I am entirely convinced that this entire plot was just an excuse for Lea Michele to play Maria, since she was so heartbroken back in like, 2008 or 2009 when she auditioned for Maria and they cast a Latinx actress for the role instead. Cause god forbid they not white wash the role for once.
I don’t really know why they wanted to include the Jets in “America”? It just makes them even more obviously racist than they already are.
Once again a major Kurt Hummel episode where he doesn’t get to sing (made even worse by the fact that he was supposed to sing but it got cut)
Songs:
Tonight: Eh. Tina sang it better in season one. Also, what’s with Rachel still looking down at her sheet music? This is the girl who supposedly was off-script for Shakespeare within 10 minutes yet somehow still doesn’t know all the words to a song she demanded be her solo two years ago?
Uptown Girl: Cute and fun! I missed the Warblers.
A Boy Like That/I Have a Love: I like how they weaved these songs into the narrative of the show. I particularly like the intercutting of “A Boy Like That” with Blaine and Sebastian having coffee.
America: Again, I don’t know about the whole adding in the Jets. I think Puck and Santana sound good, though.
One Hand, One Heart: It’s still funny to me that they had Blaine and Rachel sing this song instead of making it a Finchel/Klaine number. I’m also 90% sure that they spend more time on Blaine and Rachel on stage than on the couples having sex.
Final Thoughts: Yeah, I’ll admit it, I have my Klaine goggles on for this one. There’s a few other things I really like, but there’s also stuff I don’t. Still, nothing will ever be bad enough to make me not watch this episode a thousand times over. Especially the Klaine scenes.

And now I have finished the final episode of Life is Strange 2. Wow. That was an epic ending (I got the “blood brothers” ending). Daniel sure is impressive with his powers. Although, I was hoping to get the ending with Finn, but... wolf brothers together forever. I’m happy with this. Even if it’s a “low morality” ending. I’m happy as long as Sean doesn’t get killed or go to prison for a crime he didn’t commit.
I might replay the game and try to get the ending with Finn, though. I just don’t know how, since I thought I was already taking the “high moral” route anyway. Daniel just got fucked up on his own. He was just behaving like a little shit throughout the game, even though that wasn’t my intention. So the game kind of forced me to go full super villain, lmao.
I also made the mistake of watching what would happen if I choose to surrender, and that gave me the worst ending. “Lone wolf”, Sean dead and Daniel alone. I fucking CRIED MY EYES OUT. It’s just so sad. A 10-year-old kid all alone in a strange country, grows up to be a criminal who’s dead inside, no doubt feeling forever guilty about his brother’s death. At least in my ending the brothers are together and alive, even if that ending is a bit bittersweet.
GOD and the music in these endings... it just makes me bawl. I can barely listen to the soundtrack at the moment.
But anyway, some thoughts about the game in general.
-All in all, it’s a good and touching story. I’m always a sucker for sibling-centered stories.
-The worldbuilding got even better in the last episode. More gay characters! I LOVED Stanley and Arthur.
-An excellent depiction of racism in America and the story makes commentary on what it’s like to be a latinx person in Trump’s America. Even though Sean and Daniel are Americans, they’re trying to escape that racist unjust shithole of a country, which is just brilliant. (Of course there are some redneck characters who think it’s absurd anyone would want to escape FROM America; really shows the reality that Americans are extremely brain-washed and think their country better than any other country.)
-Absolutely wonderful music, throughout all the episodes. The song choices and the soundtrack, it’s all excellent.
-My favourite episode was episode 3. I very much enjoyed the story, the new friendships, the romance with Finn, and the exciting ending in this episode. And the music choices in this episode were so lovely. It opens with the song “On melancholy hill” (by Gorillaz) and that moment just made me so emotional. It’s a moment from the past, a flashback to simpler, happier times. And then the episode ends with “Natalie” by Milk & Bone, which left me a total emotional mess. The lyrics are like “I did it all for you”, and “I never meant to hurt you”. Having romanced Finn, it seems like that song represents Finn’s feelings for Sean, but also Daniel’s feelings for Sean and Sean’s feelings for Daniel. Overall a very touching moment (and that’s when the game really started getting interestin).
-I HATE how the game basically tells you to romance the repulsive smelly hippy Cassidy. Other characters are practically telling you that Cassidy is into Sean already in episode 2 (”suburban boys are your thing”), but also implying Sean should give a fuck about Cassidy (Chris’ dad noticed Sean was talking to her). When you decide whether to draw Finn or Cassidy, Cassidy is in the foreground. Finn has an established fuck-buddy, Cassidy doesn’t (because ofc mlm characters can only have sex with women in canon; this applies to both Finn and Sean, as Sean can only have sex with a girl if you so choose, and Sean and Finn don’t get to have sex at all). And there are more scenes with Cassidy, but luckily you can skip some of them. I skipped the swimming scene, I wasn’t really interested in listening to Cassidy’s annoying voice anymore.
This is why it came as a surprise to me that you could even romance Finn. Not to mention, most people didn’t choose Finn because it’s linked to making a “bad choice” story-wise. And I hear many didn’t even KNOW you could romance Finn, because a lot of people rejected the bad choice without a question. I feel like they were intentionally “hiding” the gay option from players. And I feel like it’s too common that game devs would make a queer male character “easy to hate”. It might not always be intentional but it seems to happen a lot. I wish they did that shit with hetero romance options for a change. But at least choosing Finn gives you an interesting story. And you get to have a moment with Finn in episode 4, and luckily, Cassidy is all forgotten about by episode 4.
Also, apparently the game implies Sean has feelings for Cassidy, even if you end up choosing neither Finn nor Cassidy. This is just gross. I don’t appreciate multi-choice games pushing players towards certain options or making decisions for you; makes it feel like your choices don’t matter. Still, I’d never choose Cassidy. Never. I have standards. Gay standards.
-I’ll wrap this up now because I’m beginning to ramble again but... I’m just thinking about how Sean and Daniel started this journey as kids and now they’re grown up and their lives are forever changed. They can probably never have normal lives, Sean especially. All the endings in this game are kind of sad or bittersweet; no ending is 100% happy. It makes me angry and sad.
It was an incredible journey. Makes me feel like I want to see more of their adventures. What will happen next? AAHHH this can’t be it. I need more.

Heathers 2018
So when I saw @princess-has-a-pen post about the new Heathers remake I had to look it up for two reasons:
1. I’m a huge fan of the Movie and Musical and 2. I had to see the fucking horror show that Spike TV was no doubt going to turn it into.
Now Princess asked in their tags the exact same thing I asked myself when I saw the post:
“Why?”
Well friends, strap yourselves in cuz I’m about to take you for a fucking ride.
Why remake Heathers? A movie that has solidified itself as a cult classic for it’s gritty, fucked up story and characters that took pretty much every kid who went to high school in the 80′s (or any time really) life and amped it up to 11?
Cuz the original Heathers is full of 'problematic' things and they can now remake it to be more 'progressive' while snagging a new audiance of younglings who know about Heathers because of the musical.
Now my friends, as I stated before, I love both the movie and the Musical, but as a mature, rational fan over the age of 30, I can look at something I love and point out it’s flaws and believe me, when it comes to the source material, Heathers the Musical is stuffed full of flaws and that creates some problems.
I am pretty sure all the Tumblrinas who idolize ‘Heathers’ have only seen the musical because honestly, the ‘date’ scene where Heather McNamara gets raped in the background would be enough to make them REEEEEE all the way to the fucking bank.
Like legit, she is literally struggling under her date (and not in a fun way) to make him stop and Veronica just fucking leaves her there. We don’t see her get away or anything, so you can only assume that that whole thing didn’t end well, especially given how miserable McNamara is in the movie to begin with.
The Muscial made light of a lot of the grim parts the movie worked to highlight, specifically bullying and suicide and the dangers of giving into pressure and just being a fucking terrible human being. Not to mention it twisted things in a way that actually reinforced some harmful tropes. Specifically with the two main characters JD and Heather.
JD in the movie is a completely sociopath who physically and mentally abuses Veronica for almost the entire thing and in the Musical they gave him the stereotypical ‘troubled boy who wanted to make the world better but it just got out of hand’ treatment. Like “Oh yeah, he murders three people and tries to blow up a school but his dad’s a jerk and his mommy committed suicide so you can’t blame him! Deep down he’s just a tortured soul who really loves Veronica!”. Spoilers! He doesn’t love Veronica, at least not in any way that should be even entertained as any sort of ‘love’. He and Veronica’s relationship coupled with his ‘sacrifice’ at the end of the play made me cringe extra hard because it felt like it was romanticizing abusive relationships and in all honesty it was. A specific scene from the Musical where I thought they were actually going to address the toxicity of their ‘relationship’ (at the end of the ‘Our Love is God’ musical number where Veronica seems to have a mental break down as she screams ‘Our Love is God’ over and over again as if to drown out the fact that she just assisted in the murder of two people), was brushed under the rug the next scene and seemingly forgotten about till something ELSE big happens and then it’s fucking Ground Hogs Day apparently.
Veronica in the movie joined the Heathers before the movie even began because she wanted to be popular and due to her skill in forgery is pretty much made their pet project. She’s not as much of a cunt as Chandler or Duke but she's still pretty fucking bad. She kills Kurt herself, blows off her actual best friend in exchange for shallow popularity, laughs over Heather Chandler dying and only turns on JD when the suicide note she writes for Heather Chandler backfires and causes people to glorify Chandler as a saint. This as well leads her to realize that it’s pointless to kill people because someone else just takes their place as “The Mythic Bitch” ala Heather Duke’s transformation (also because JD straight up slaps her in the face for trying to back out on him). She only ever does anything semi sweet at the VERY end after JD gets blown up. In the Musical she is portrayed as a sweet innocent little buttercup who is super besties with Martha and sticks up for the little guy and never meant to hurt anyone and was just dragged into everything bad by bad people. She feels constantly guilty for it and seems unable to make any actual choices herself outside of breaking into JD’s house to fuck him. She’s totally innocent guys. Totes.
And before you say “C’moooon it’s a fuckin’ Muscial!” you need to go watch you some Dear Evan Hansen or Les Miserables because those two Musicals are heavy as fuck and had no problem in showing how fucked up serious shit like war and suicide was through flawed characters.
Now with this new series coming out it seems destined to fail. It has only been releasing Instagram videos to promote the show and already it’s hitting all the same old PC points while being SO EDGY at the same time. It’s Riverdale all fucking over again.
“The terrible trio is more like a set of outcasts who have taken over Westerberg High School.” -EW article
Like really? Fuckin’ really? The Heathers were all popular girls due to their wealth (McNamara), beauty (Duke) and over all exuding of confidence and attitude backed up by all of the previously stated assets (Chandler). They weren’t a bunch of outcasts. They took pride in how they looked and how people saw them. I don’t understand this fucking need to make every kid nowadays an ‘outcast’ in an effort to make them ‘relatable’. They did it to every kid in the Power Rangers remake and MJ in Spider-Man: Homecoming and it’s starting to get fucking annoying. Oh well, gotta get them kids with all that EDGE!
So let’s look at the ‘Heathers’ (I can’t bring myself to not put that in quotation marks when talking about these piles of hot garbage):
Heather Chandler is a plus-sized, Skrillex haired edge lord who looks like every Tumblr Feminist/Suicide Girls reject and literally gives off no aura of power or fear at all. She just comes off as some fat bitch who found the HAAS RadFem movement on Twitter and used it to fill herself with enough undeserved self importance to justify being a cunt to everyone. Yes, where the original Heather Chandler got her power and reputation through sheer intimidation and personality, this Heather Chandler looks like the type of girl who will physically assault you in the bathroom and threaten to sit on you till you die.
Gee golly, I see Heather Duke is a sassy gay male now (and a white one at that). Wow, it’s not like that hasn’t been done a billion fucking times. Funny that he’s a white dude whose character in the movie and play turns out to capitalize on Heather Chandler’s death to raise their own status to the ‘queen bitch’ of the school. That’ll do GREAT for gay stereotypes I’m sure.
Aaaaand Heather McNamara, our possibly Asian possibly Latinx butprobably just party bag of mixed race token character who is the literal punching bag of the group. At least that seems to have not changed but I am sure it’ll help add shallow sympathy since now it’s not a bunch of white kids beating up on a little white girl, it’s a bunch of white kids beating up on a little minority girl. Goodie goodie.
The rest:
JD literally gets nothing to show from his video except one speaking line where he is telling Veronica that she’s “Not like Heather Chandler” she’s “better” while quick cutting a bunch of random shots from the show that mostly seem pointless and just confusing with one flash of him apparently running the flat of a knife on his palm behind his back? So we get nothing from our poor, tortured sociopath. I can just hear the producers of this show now: “We can’t show him being too soft or the old fans might not watch it and can’t show him being a psychotic asshole or the Musical fans won’t watch it, so make it just as cluster fucking and confusing as possible so no one will ask questions and just be drawn in with all the cheap visual click bait!”
For Veronica we again get nothing. One line of “Dear Diary, I hate my friends but that doesn’t mean I want them DEAD!” followed by more random cuts of shots from the show, many of bloody scenes and hints of violence but a lot more of just weird confusing scenes that make no sense. It’s kind of funny for the sheer reason that they seem to be banking on people just already knowing who these characters are ala the original movie but at the same time are trying to pull in new audience members with all the vague quick cutting which they seem to have mistaken for ‘mystery’.
And last but not least, we have Betty Finn. What’s that? “Who if Betty Finn?” all you fans of the Musical ask? Well you wouldn’t know who Betty is unless you watched the MOVIE cuz Betty is who Martha Dump Truck replaced in the Musical because Betty wasn’t fucking sad sacky enough and they didn’t want to clutter the script with such a minor character. Betty was smart and an actual good person, the only good person in the movie honestly, who was Veronica’s friend since they were in diapers. She didn’t have a huge part in the movie outside of providing some blackmail material for JD to use against Heather Duke and trying to get Veronica to stop being such a moron (which failed). Now she’s appears to be the stereotypical side character that will be prominent in the show, probably as a comic relief character or plot device to be used against Veronica at some point.
Now, there is a huge question you have to ask:
Where is Martha? Will Martha even be in the series? Alright, it’s two questions but you get the point.
I have two guesses;
1. Possibly
but more than likely
2. No. Absolutely not.
Why do you ask? Because Martha’s character served as a plot device in both the Movie and the Musical to show how awful the Heathers really were and how their bullying was actually dangerous. Martha was a fat, slow, ugly dump of a girl. Problem is, you can’t make fun of that anymore. It’s not ‘progressive’ to make fun of people with those flaws. As well it wouldn’t make sense, Heather Chandler is fat in this remake. Unless they’re going to go full retard with some kind of ‘internalized fatphobia’ shit it wouldn’t make sense to make fun of Martha for that. Heather McNamara is the stereotypical ditzy airhead which doesn’t seem to have changed in this remake so to make fun of someone being ‘slow’ while laughing at an Air-Head-of-Color would just be super duper mean!
If they DO put Martha in, she will either have to still be dumpy, slow and fat and end up being the most popular character in the end for ‘not giving into societies beauty standards’ or some shit, OR she will have to actually flat out die from her suicide attempt to push the EDGE and drive plot.
Either way this whole thing is going to be a train wreck that will either take off at the idiotic rate in which Teen Wolf and Riverdale did or be an utter failure.
I seriously hope for the latter. Sorry this is so long and there are probably some spelling and grammar errors. It’s literally 2:30 in the morning and the Monster I drank is starting to ware off so I’m running on fumes.

@jjfantasy replied to your post “@majorelorne replied to your post: Okay, no one...”
dang you have some strength, keeping up with this nonsense, this fandom is2g. reminds me of similar situation where damereys get to be called racists while people pretend to love Isaac...
(Ugh at Tumblr showing notifications in wrong order.)
Hehe, someone has to, right? :D
And yeah. That. I understand that fandom at large (as does the society in general) has a huge issue with racism and anti-blackness is definitely a part of it. I understand people are concerned that Finn is going to get sidelined in some capacity or another. I really, really do. In fact, I find myself frequently wondering what his role is ultimately going to be in the entire ST context -- Poe and Rey’s roles as The Future General and The Jedi-In-Training are pretty clear, but Finn’s is still such a mystery. I hope it’s something great because he deserves to be more than Rey’s (or Poe’s) Boyfriend or something along those lines.
But first of all, none of us knows how the story is going to pan out yet. Anything could happen! They all might fucking die! *blows an ironic kiss in Gareth Edwards’ general direction* And secondly... Yeah. People have a lovely habit of forgetting -- or pretending to forget -- that Oscar/Poe is not white either, or thinking of his non-whiteness as somehow inconsequential. In a heroic role. In a franchise as huge as Star Wars.
But then the fandom seems to have a really weird relationship with Poe anyway. Either people pretty much write him off or forget he exists, or he’s some gross Latinx Lover stereotype and Galactic Slut #1 or... That Gay Pilot (what do you mean he has a personality outside of being Gay?). Sometimes I feel like people expected him to be the Cocky Asshole Fighter Pilot trope played straight, and now that he pointedly isn’t, they don’t know what to think of him. (One day I’ll make a study of how people react to subverted tropes.)

i have THOUGHTS and FEELINGS that have been festering since I’ve seen TROS this morning.
SPOILERS BELOW
I am not one for long ranty posts, especially when they can get in the hands of Star Wars purists and fanboys who will want to kill me over them, but I do have a few things to say. This is the first of several things where I rant about things that make me happy that fanfiction exists.
First off, I did not hate it. As someone who does not expect anything from corporations who turn our childhood favorites into cash cows, I knew that the representation would remain superficial on some level.
However, lets talk about one of the loves of my life, Poe Dameron, and how Disney did him DIRTY. A spice runner? They made my latinx king a fucking drug dealer??? They planted a huge plot hole in his story line, in the LAST FUCKING MOVIE, to make him seem more dangerous??? Mysterious??? For what FOR WHAT??? How is the son of two rebel pilots, who has resistance in his family a fucking drug dealer, how and when and why?
Also, Disney actively tried to make him straight and stomped out any ambiguity to his sexuality, which was super unnecessary. Like, no one expected them to actually make my homosexual king canonically gay, but the fact that they purposefully stomped out the ambiguity was fucking ridiculous and low-key homophobic.
John Boyega and Oscar Isaac will forever have my heart for playing them as romantic throughout the three films because they knew Disney was doing us dirty.
In conclusion, I will rewrite the canon in my head as Poe being a a part of the resistance since birth, not having been a drug dealer, and living as queer with his lover Finn.

the whole milk drinking scene we’ve all said it but what the fuck
snoke??? just disappearing???????? being built up so much and then vanishing???? yo would any of you like to explain like....,,anything????
the fact that they lost the first base, then all the bombers and most of the x-wings, then all the x-wings, then most of the transporters, then the second back on the mineral planet....it felt like too much loss. i don’t feel like they’ve set up anywhere for the resistance to go - luke is gone, no allies answered their distress call, they’ve got like 100 people left, it’s all too ???????
rey and kylo being badass together was....okay? but not as cool as some people think it is imo
the force-connection humour moments weren’t well set up. rey and kylo hating one another but also playing this for laughs hit a bad note with me because neither of them have any reason to be “”sassy”” with one another when he wants to manipulate her to the dark side and she wants him dead.
the end of the film being “we have all we need” and showing everyone ~talking heartily~ like a family as if they shouldn’t be sat there thinking ‘we’re all that’s left most of our friends are dead and we’re on an easy-to-track junkship’. weird note to end the film on ??????
anyways these are just my thoughts!!!! goodnight!!!!
#elri#elri talks#pls don't like.... attack me for any of this shit this is just my opinion#i didn't particularly love it tbh i wanted better and the characters deserved better#so yeah that's that#sw#tlj#sw spoilers#tlj spoilers

miasswier’s ultimate glee ranking: no 94
94: I Am Unicorn
Written by: Ryan Murphy Directed by: Brad Falchuk
Overall Thoughts: Season three really didn’t get off to a good start, huh? Here we have Kurt being faced with a fun mix of homophobia and misogyny, from both his teachers and his friends, Quinn being told by several adults (and the father of her baby) that she really doesn’t matter, and the introduction of what is probably the absolute worst story Glee ever told.
What I Like:
Blaine is so goddamn cute in this episode. I seriously want to reach through my TV and pinch his cheeks.
The fact that Brittany and Burt both make it clear to Kurt that part of what’s awesome about him is the ways that he’s different. He shouldn’t hide himself because he doesn’t fit in with societies ideals. My favourite lines when talking about this are:
“I don’t want to just be Kurt Hummel, homo” “Wait, what’s wrong with that?”
“You know what a unicorn without a horn is called? A friggin horse.”
That sweet Brittana scene where Santana tells Brittany that she is the unicorn.
Emma going to bat for Kurt as Tony, even if she eventually gets overpowered.
Kurt ultimately deciding to embrace who he is, despite the fact that basically everyone (including his supposed best friend) thinks this doesn’t make him leading man material.
When Rachel says she’s too young to direct herself in West Side Story and Brittany goes “I hate you”
What I Don’t Like:
The way Coach Bieste and Artie talk about Kurt is completely unprofessional. The way they literally laugh him out of an audition is even worse. If I was Burt, I would have marched right back down to that school and demanded action be taken, because all of what happened there? That’s highkey homophobia, largely rooted in misogyny. And it’s all coming from people we are supposed to like and root for, one of whom is eventually revealed to be a gay man himself. Like, yikes. Major yikes.
Rachel laughing at Kurt almost hurts more than Bieste, Artie, and Emma doing so. She’s supposed to be his best friend. Can you imagine Mercedes laughing at Kurt the way Rachel did? Or even Brittany, or Tina? Because I can’t.
Artie asking Blaine to go out for Tony. Listen, I know that he was great as Tony and he killed “Something’s Coming”, but they still put him in the awkward position of having to compete against his boyfriend for a role that he purposefully didn’t try out for.
The fact that Kurt tried out with a Streisand song. Don’t get me wrong, I love that song, and I love that performance, but it wasn’t right for an audition for Tony, and everyone knew it. Glee did this purposefully, to set Kurt up for the homophobia and sexism he was going to be bombarded with. It’s frustrating, because we see Kurt doing Broadway songs traditionally sung by men, so it’s beyond clear that this was a purposeful move on Glee’s part to set Kurt up to fail. It makes me really mad.
I am frustrated by the Brittany running for president story, mainly because Brittany didn’t need that at all, and they literally forgot about it halfway through the season, whereas it could have made a big difference for Kurt (or, hey, maybe not seeing how the whole auditioning for NYADA thing turned out).
Rachel asking Finn to audition for Tony, particularly the way she worded it. She claims the slot for Tony is still “wide open” ie she has absolutely no doubt that Kurt is not going to receive the role. So not only was Kurt’s boyfriend asked to compete against him, but his brother was as well. I hate this show.
Just… everything about the Quinn/Puck/Shelby bullshit. I literally have no idea who came up with this idea and how the hell enough people said “yo this is a good idea” that it actually got put in as a major plot of the first eight episodes of this season, but it’s garbage, it’s all literal garbage, and every second dedicated to it makes my blood boil.
Will once again shows off his rage by yelling at a fucking underage girl who he knows full well is being manipulated by Sue. Quinn honestly gets bounced around by fucking adults in this episode, and none of them treat her the way she deserves to be treated. Shelby refuses to give her the same opportunity as Puck (even though Puck literally forced that opportunity onto himself, whereas Quinn had the decency to ask before seeing Beth) because she’s “a mess”, Sue uses Quinn as her pawn in a ridiculous anti-arts campaign, and Will literally tears into her, screams at her, and gets in her face to the point where I legitimately feel like he’s going to slap her. And then, to top it all off, he gets rewarded by the show for doing this by Becky Jackson going “That was so hot” like WHAT?! WHAT?!?!!?!?!?! W H A T?!?!?!?!!
West Side Story was the wrong musical to do for this school. I will talk about this more in my review of “The First Time” but seriously. I don’t know how the hell Glee thought it would be okay to tackle this musical with literally one Latinx character.
Songs:
Somewhere: They sound good, but this song is boring, and it just reminds me of how annoyed I am that Rachel played Maria.
I’m the Greatest Star: Like I’ve already said, I really love this performance and this cover (I like it a lot better than Rachel’s season five version), but it was the wrong choice for this audition and Glee knew that.
Something’s Coming: The best performance of the episode by far. Amazingly performed and sung. Just… A+. I could definitely see Darren Criss actually playing Tony at some point in his career.
Final Thoughts: I recently re-watched this episode after the re-watch during which I made this ranking, and I moved it down a TON. This episode sucks. I always think “Oh, but it has the awesome Kurt/Brittany story!” and as much as I enjoy their scenes together, the whole point of it is to further tear Kurt down and set him up for nothing going his way this year. I just… God. This is not a good episode.
