i have this disease that makes me almost incapable of getting truly invested in rarepair ships because i need the ships i get really insane about to have narrative significance and i call this disease pretentious bitch who hates fun disease because saying i don't care about something without narrative significance makes me sound like a pretentious bitch who hates fun however it doesn't mean i've NEVER had a rarepair i'm invested in it just means that the few i am invested in have narrative significance and they're rarepairs because of other extenuating circumstances. which gives me a lot of privilege over those in fandom engaging in other rarepairs because sure that ao3 tag is updated almost never but at least half of the stuff to pick from is insane character study and convoluted plot. i'm eating once every 6 months but it's a feast every time
