i actually really like their relationship, its a really complex dynamic that i like to talk about with my friends

i think the issue is that when talking about mithan or mia in general, theres just SO MUCH misinformation that its honestly a pain the butt to talk about

people still think that she was responsible for the creation of eveline, people still think that she experimented on eveline, people still use examples of her attacking ethan as if she did it on her own will instead of being mind controlled

in reality she was just someone who oversaw the transportation of evie. im not excusing her or anything because obviously she knew what she was doing, but people really try to accuse her of doing something she didnt and it bothers me alot lol

the problem with the fandom is that people either try to water her down to girlboss who did nothing wrong and fail to acknowledge the complexity/ moral grayness of her character and the other side is misogynists 😭😭😭😭

its hard to talk about her without people either going "stop trying to villainize her and make her look bad!" or people ACTUALLY villainizing her and acting like heisenberg would have treated him better 😭😭

mithan is such a sad relationship because they loved each other so much and that ended up being the reason their relationship fell apart (sort of... its not like the broke up... ethan kinda just straight up died)

i get a lot a trouble for saying this, but mia is a selfish person.

its not a bad thing! well i mean it is but it doesnt make her some evil witch who is somehow worse than the guy how made a werewolf american ninja warrior. its just a major character flaw she has! which is good! mia being a flawed person who makes mistakes and morally gray decisions make her a more interesting person!

she is selfish in the way that she wants to keep her family with her no matter the cost. even if it means lying to ethan about her job so that he wont think different of her. here is a interrogation from the re7 DLC, which is easy to miss!

she isnt necessarily trying to apologize for the things she has done, she is more of a, "u wont need to forgive me in the first place if we just forget it all and move on"

she doesn't try to redeem herself for what she has done, she tries to move on and return to the normal life that she wants so bad. which is fine! everyone copes a different way and she has to right to move on from her trauma. the problem that lies in this is that she has a shared trauma with ethan who still has no idea what went on in dulvey and still effects him till the present (he is mold! this is a important thing to know! most people would want to know if they were a walking corpse)

she played a direct part in what happened in dulvey, and im not referring to the email, she did not send that. she never wanted ethan to come in the first place. she tried her best to send a video to him, begging him to forget about her because she wanted to protect him, BUT it didnt send.

he got involved because she was involved. its honestly a series of really really unfortunate events.

THOUGH! she did know what she was getting into. im tired of seeing the narrative that mia was innocent and didnt know what was going on or was simply a bystander. she knew what she was doing, she knew eveline was a bioweapon, she knew eveline was a child. she used a MACHINE GUN! she knows how to use weapons and was obviously trained for it.

she tried her best to keep everybody out of the mess, ex: warning the bakers not to take them in, warning ethan not to find her, sacrificing herself for ethan in the later half of re7

but again, those are the consequences of HER actions

her consequences just happen to get really big and end up hitting ethan on the head like a metal sheet 😭

their relationship is really so interesting, it makes me really sad to think about sometimes 😭they both went through something that nobody else would ever understand, in the end they really only have each other. they get moved to an entire different country and the dulvey incident gets covered up with a "gas leak"

its really tragic because their marriage definitely had some flaws and bumps. and i know im repeating myself but its because people always take this in the worst way possible but just because i say their relationship was rocky doesnt mean im saying they dont love each other!!! thats the entire basis of mias character!! saying she doesnt love ethan would destroy her entire character!

you can see in the re8 DLC how fondly ethan talks about mia! he loves her so much, though im not sure if his comments in the DLC are him narrating current (post re8) or his thoughts before everything went down and he died (pre re8)

everything mia did was because she LOVED ethan. she would never do anything to intentionally hurt him, she is not a cruel person. she hides the truth of her job from ethan pre re7 because she loves him and doesnt want her job to drive them apart. she CONTINUES to refuse to tell ethan the truth post re7 because she wants to move on a live a happy normal life with him and knows something like her being directly associated with the connections would probably cause (more) problems. she refuses to tell ethan that he is mold because again, hard to live a happy marriage with your husband after you tell him hes a bioweapon.

obviously i dont think it was right that she did this, thats what makes her selfish! she did it for herself! she did it for her family! she thought it would work out, she thought that they could move on and be happy together.

the issue is that ethan didnt want to forget. he wanted to know what happened, he wanted to know the part mia played, he wanted answers! which is reasonable! he knows to some extent that mia was partially responsible for his involvement and he was always suspcious that mia was lying to him about her job which is implied when mia says "you were right, i did lie to you"

she doesnt learn, she doesnt stop lying, her lies get bigger and worse and it sucks yeah but it makes her so interesting!!! she keeps doing stupid things under the idea that this is whats best for her and her family, that if she hides this everything will work out and it will be for the better but its not!

just because telling your husband hes dead and a bioweapon is a hard subject to bring up doesnt mean you DONT bring it up. people shouldnt use that as a reason to excuse mia 😭, its a very bad excuse and honestly highlights how horrible their communication skills were. you cant just not tell your husband that he is actually infected with the mold and not tell him for the tree years between post re7 and pre re8.

im not saying these things to put mia down, or try and villanize her. these are all just actual things her character does! she isnt evil, but she isnt a knight in shining armor either. we need to be able to have talks about complex characters without crying everytime someone points out a flaw. characters have flaws! and mia just happens to have a lot of them!

im not mad at her, i dont dislike her because i think this way of her. shes a fictional character! you can like characters that are morally gray, or villains that drink blood and make corpse soldiers. they are fictional! pointing out the flaws of a character does not mean i dont like them.

i wouldnt call her "the real villain of re8" but i wouldnt treat her like a damsel in distress either. she is a competent person, she knows what shes doing, she has her reasons for doing them. she made bad descions with good intentions behind them! they can coexist and we should let them!

i like mithan! its a complex relationship because they both love each other so much but hurt each other in the process

talking about them is just a pain in the butt because talking about mia is a pain in the butt lol

i really hate how she keeps getting sidelined, its super frustrating to see mia get put in a cage in every game 😭

its even more frustrating that mia straight up just disappears???? in the shadows of rose DLC... like she just stops taking care of rose and theres nothing said about it. no reason or explanation. i dont think mia would ever ditch rosemary because she didnt care about her, but we probably will never know because capcom sucks at writing and they probably forgot the mia ever even existed.

all in all, i think the fandom is really just full of misinformation which make people either think mia is some horrible evil person, or its full of people who think that saying mia messed up is the equivalent of comparing her to wesker lol.

i really love mia, shes a incredibly fun and complex character, its just hard to enjoy her sometimes with the people in the fandom haha.

im gonna let you guys in on a little secret.

the more macden shippers shit on other pairings, the more multishippers like me will move towards their secondary and/or tertiary pairings. if i can't go into the charden tag without seeing a post intentionally tagged with multiple ships and trying to spark discourse between them by saying people who ship "rarepairs" are stupid and delusional, first of all, that's an instant fucking block, but like. I'm not going to feel like talking about macdennis when it feels like there's such an obnoxious pressure on you to fall into line and accept the widely preached and accepted fanon canon.

I love macden too. and I would post about and enjoy it a lot more if y'all didn't make it feel like we had to pick a side. just because you prefer the big popular ship, that doesn't make you smarter, or more correct than anyone who ships charden or charmac, it just means you have different preferences. i think macden has the biggest chance of being an actual couple on the show, and obviously mac and dennis are both gay and queer respectively, but if i want to ship charden, why can't i do that too? fandom is supposed to be fun, and it's supposed to be enjoyable, i don't want to have to fight to prove that this ship that i personally see working and enjoy the dynamics of is a "valid ship" when i am fully aware that they're not going to be canon that's kind of the point, and why i prefer it. and for the love of god... if you hc a pairing as platonic, that is perfectly fine. that's how i see charmac myself, but that is your view and your problem, not the shippers'. just block the tag so you don't have to see it if it bothers you that much.

something i need to warn people about is that i have a lot of mental issues. i struggle with a lot of things including/especially social interactions and differences in opinions and preferences. i’m getting better accepting that people might have largely different thought processes from me and that people will disagree with things i say. i get easily defensive and angry or upset and it’s a thing i’m working on.

i also need direct communication when you’re upset with me for any reason. the amount of times i’ve had to tell people not to keep it a secret when they don’t like me is frustratingly large. i understand having communication issues, i have them too, i struggle to tell people when i’m upset over things and hide my emotions, but things need to be said. especially if they’re serious.

it’s weird bc bkdk has definitely become my favorite bnha ship but i still super enjoy other ships for both those characters — i loveee todobaku they’re one of my favorite ships to read fic for, love tododeku bakukami shinbaku shindeku etc etc etc but kiribaku is one of the only ships i feel like i dislike and its 100% because of twitter which maybe says more about me than it does the ship! i follow a lot of kiribaku ppl bc they used to be my faves but as the story progressed i really pivoted towards liking bakudeku the most. this is all fine and i still loved kiribaku for a while but i feel like over the course of this year i saw a lot of kiribaku shippers become really bitter and constantly making things krbk vs bkdk in a way i didn’t really see from bakudekus. a lot of people like pretending the whole past 100 chapters didn’t happen, hating deku, constantly talking about bkdk being toxic (despite the fact that bkdks were the ones acknowledging bakugous character development the most and Not ignoring it in favor of their ship!) and it sort of just felt like a lot of the krbk fandom was extremely fixated on the time when their ship was in the spotlight and not willing to let go of that for the sake of like, where the story went and how the characters developed. it’s just something i really can’t relate to as a multishipper bc i enjoy aspects of a lot of ships so it’s always been less about what’s canon and more about what’s interesting. but if canon content is making a ship Really Interesting im gonna be into it!! and it just feels like a lot of the kiribaku fandom is trying to force this kiribaku canon agenda and shitting of bkdk and clinging to remnants of the past as opposed to just enjoying krbk as a ship you know what i mean?? but! this is clearly the opinion of someone who is Too Online and i think this is a personal sign for me unfollow a bunch of ppl on twitter, it’s just a shame bc i really want to still like kiribaku!!

-when bnha was first gaining traction on tumblr, it was all art of Tsuyu. I have no idea why. People were talking about the funky frog lesbian superhero anime. Maybe it was just the people I was following, maybe it was a general trend, but I LOVED her design!!! my fav color and frogs r super cute!!! And I already loved superhero media, so I was like. I’ll watch it. For Her. SO. FROPPY IS THE REASON I WATCHED/READ BNHA. I went in thinking she was the protag and I was sooo confused when Izuku was... tbh I still think it’d be more interesting if she was lmaooo aus where? ...seriously if anyone has good aus where this is the case send them LOL

-I don’t actually feel that bad abt what Shigaraki’s doing. I still feel bad for him. I’m this post. yes im an apologist. its not my fault hes sexy and has been running around shirtless. hes a lesbian icon like thor is. I want to touch his hair. hes never done anything wrong in his life. he could kill all might, deku, bakugo, whatever, I’d still be sayin this. I don’t feel bad for gt. like. was anyone genuinely attached to him? lmao

-well u know how spinner’s quirk is just sticking to things? We haven’t seen him use it in canon except like, (1) time iirc?? -Toga roller derby au. No deep thoughts I just think she’d be good at it. 

-Toga 100% is a social butterfly and could befriend anyone if they didn’t just judge the fact she was trying to stab them smh :/ (ok but seriously anytime I see cute friendships with her n the other kids im like :) aw. I feel like her and Camie...would be good friends. Camie feels chill enough to be like ‘ok whatever thats totally fine I forgive you!!’ LMAO we love airheads here)

-HOW DID TOGA GET SO GOOD AT FIGHTING? We know she’s been on the run since middle school or so, but good enough to pin Deku down after he’s been formally trained at a ~hero school~ for a while? (she pinned him TWICE I think, once when his arms were messed up, but, the other time as Camie, so? AND THEN WAS ONE OF THE 100 PEOPLE TO GO THRU TO THE 2ND ROUND OF THAT? even tho she didn’t bc she had to leave) good enough to beat Aizawa in a fight and stab him? A professional hero and teacher for YEARS? Is that seriously just street training??? Can people acknowledge how amazing her combat skills and reflexes are??? More Toga appreciation when?? Also her backstory??? SO subversive and incredible, hate when people reduce her to just a ~typical anime yandere~ :/

-Tomura doing stuff with his hands/fingers to train his quirk!!! And to learn to be careful with it!! obv I’m a Big Fan of him playing piano to do this and video games are prob the canon answer, but like, guitar or any stringed instrument that requires Hands would work too. Or knitting/sewing? EMBROIDERING? ??? Please, let me give you the mental image of him knitting aggressively while mentally scheming, watching a twitch streamer or smth too while doing it. (Doing stuff with your hands is a great way to let your mind come up with creative stuff, that’s how I come up with writing/drawing ideas 70% of the time)

-Tomura actually PREFERS cutesty, relaxing games. I mean, he does fighting and bloody stuff irl, games are a way to relax...he’ll play shooters and gta type games with The Lads, but. on his own?? animal crossing. pokemon. kirby games. mario. zelda. BIG ZELDA FAN (not saying this bc I, personally, am biased, but,) slime rancher, stardew valley, funny simulator games... he really enjoys those :”) God forbid he has a kid bc they’re 100% getting named after a viddy game character unless someone can talk him out of it LOL. Toga and Tomura are that animal crossing /doom meme where she’d be asking for doom and him asking for animal crossing :”)

-Bits and pieces of Before are kinda stuck in Kurogiri’s brain, but like. mostly useless stuff the doctor didn’t care about removing. Like, types of clouds. So Tomura kinda picks up on stuff like that. He can just look at clouds and tell you what type they are because Kurogiri used to take him up to high places in the city and point them out to calm Tomura down from a panic attack when he was younger. He can tell you if the sky looks like it’ll rain with a 80% accuracy rate too. 

-Kurogiri left food out for kitties in the alley beside the bar. They weren’t allowed in for Health Reasons (it IS a bar with sanitation standards!!) And Tomura really wouldn’t stop it or encourage it either way so long as Kurogiri did his job, but occasionally would stand outside with Kurogiri and just watch the kitties from a distance. If any approached he’d go back in (lowkey afraid he’d hurt them by touching them :( ) They kinda kept that between them tho, bc they both Know AFO is a big bag of dicks and no fun

-people have pointed out how similar aizawa and tomura look. this was 100% the intention. tomura has a hatecrush on him. THIS IS SO FUNNY AND HORRIBLY AWKWARD FOR KUROGIRI LMAO

-Sako??? Mr. Dramatic?? Opera fan. Drama kid. Like, obviously, but. Really. He is. I feel like he can speak a dozen languages. I also feel like he used to be an overachiever but got too ambitious. He was def some kind of leader at one point of a diff Group or something that fell apart. I LOVE how creative he is with his quirk and the magician theme??? incredible. I don’t show him enough love but I Love Clowns :o)

-I don’t care what their canon heights are. Spinner and Dabi? short kings. My height hcs are (tallest to shortest) Kurogiri, Twice, Sako (who also has heels on his boots and a tall hat, keep in mind), Tomura, Magne (Tomura and Magne are about the same height imo) Toga, Spinner, Dabi. LISTEN. Dabi has short energy. Sorry. it’s true tho

-This is a semi-popular hc I think bc I KNOW I’ve seen it before, but Dabi having Terrible Vision and needing glasses is so so good. (seriously, with burns THAT close to his eyeballs, how could he not?) 

-he tries to be a tough loner coolguy. you’d think he’d smoke, but I hc his ‘weak constitution’ comes with weak lungs (esp from years of a flame quirk?? inhaling smoke over so much time is SO bad for you, most people who die in fires actually die of smoke inhalation...) so he’s got like, an inhaler, can’t smoke, actually gets carsick, needs glasses, overuses quirk to save friends constantly, likes napping, a little awkward and rude. Tomura put him in charge of the vanguard so he’s smart, and good with strategies too, like a nerd. this is the Dabi I wanna see, not the popular fandom version of him tbh also step on hawks one more time sir :”)

-I wish all the lov fics weren’t?? villain!deku like I said earlier, but also, chatfics? I have nothing against them but most of them are just a bombardment of Memes with NO PLOT!!! so, i'll be honest, i do like boyfs (although, i am a multishipper and it's hardly my fave bmc ship), but reading through this blog was honestly a really enjoyable experience. because even if i do like boyfs, i've always liked jeremy more than michael, and a blog full of posts talking about how michael isn't a perfect character and jeremy gets unfairly villainized by a lot of the fandom? like a breath of fresh air, honestly.

So I’ve seen some people talking about how they ship stuff in fandom, and it really got me thinking about how there’s so much variety in how people choose to ship (or NOT ship) characters! Like, there’s

Non-Shippers: Some people choose not to/don’t want to ship characters in any way shape or form, and instead focus on the non-romantic aspects of the story like plot, symbolism, worldbuilding, or platonic/familial/antagonistic/etc dynamics! They often make really great memes and meta!

Self/OC Shippers: They choose not to focus on the normal character/character ships but instead enjoy making OC/character, reader/character, or self-insert ships! They may also have opinions about character/character ships in ways that line up with any of the other groups mentioned here, or in their own unique way (some I know feel the same way as OTP shippers but instead of another character its their OC/ themselves; thats ALSO valid af!) Regardless of all liking non-character ships, there’s still a lot of variety!

Canon Shippers: Those who only ship canon ships, sometimes because they don’t care too much for romance but want to stay true to their canon representation, other times because they just think the canon ships are fine and theres no need to mess with them, etc, etc. There are lots of reasons, all of them valid!

Multishippers: They simultaneously ship a variety of both canon and non-canon character/character ships. It could be poly shipping, but usually it’s just a ‘there are different aus/versions where one character could be with these different characters’ situation. They can ship a bunch of ships at the same time despite them all metaphysically not being able to coexist in the same canon, and often -though not always- ship the same ship with a variety of dynamics (which isn’t to say other types of shippers can’t do that, it’s just more frequent here!) Interestingly, in my experience type of shipper tends to have stuck around from more old-school fandom!

OTP Shippers: These are the die-hard, ‘I ship this character with only this person one and no one else’ shippers. They often tend to be super attached to certain character dynamics and super in-depth in fleshing the relationship out while at the same time not connecting with other ships for that character. On one hand this is the type of shipper that a lot of those who do ship hate come from, but at the same time most of these shippers are great and a lot of the most realistic, complex, and in-depth shipfics/content are by those in this group!

There are probably more types of shippers out there, and most people are probably a mix of several categories, but these are the type I see the most and frankly I think that’s super interesting! All of these ways of shipping are equally good despite being so different, and yet somehow we still all come together through our mutual love of the series/show/original content!

(Sorry. Kinda ranty and all over the place im typing this as thought pop into my head.)

Ok... so like scrolling through the tag has been weird. I never really talk fandom because im not a fandom person, but im confused. There is a lot of negativity going on in weird ways. And im not gonna sit here and tell yall to get over it and just be happy because the show is blah blah blah. Cuz thats just a dick thing to say. Be angry about whatever idgaf. All i want to say is that Im genuinely confused here about /why/ people are upset.

So Svtfoe is about a 14-15 year old girl,going through teenage girl life with a magical twist. Its a seasonal bad guy show with a somewhat overlying plot/goal. The story follows star as she lives her life as a magical teenage princess. And im just puzzled as to why people think that the plot isnt progressing or character develop isnt progressing /because/ of the personal aspects of stars life. Star is dealing with crushes, puberty, responsiblilty and just growing up. Shes human...mewman...shes a person. And thats apart of her story.

Svtfoes plot is 50% magical politics and 50% romance. Thats just the frame work of the show. The bones of the story. Its been like that since s1. Thats /the/ story thats being told. Love and politics are both parts of the same plot. S1 -3 all have equal parts politics and romance, that grow at the same time, that peak and resolve at the same time because both things are very imortant to star theure both parts of stars life. Which is what were watching here. So im just not seeing why people are upset that the "love triangle" isnt over and done with by episode 4 in s4 when the politics havent even been solved by ep 4 s4. I mean it wouldnt make any sense for stars relationships to be solved before the end of the show when her relationships are a part of the over all plot. The endgame for this show is supposed to be the resolution of everything of the whole story. It would be weird if the show just resolved half of its plot within 4 episodes while the other half kept going. Its like atla, aang and katara got together literally in the last moment of the show, and the plot was resolved in the last episode of the show. Aang and katara didnt end up together halfway through book 3 while the "plot" kept going, because their romance was supposed to be endgame just like the final battle.

Like ok. So maybe people are upset that romance is such a heavy part of the story and to that i have to say "and?" . Like i get it. Romance in kids shows especially heteronormative romance in kids shows can be boring as hell when its shoe horned into the story. But svftoe from day 1, has been about romance and love and star and marco /and/ tom. Thats kinda the point. Svtfoe isnt supposed to be fully focused on political drama. Its a teen coming of age type story. If youre here for the "plot" than cool. But the plot involves stars love triangle. Thats why it " takes up" so much time.

And ok, i know people are mad that star isnt "growing" ...but she objectively is...slowely. Yall seem to be forgetting thats shes literally a 15 year old. Idk if yall have met 15 year olds, but their development isnt a straight line to maturity. Escpecially not in a years span of time. Stars relationships while frustrating are realistic. Having been a 15 year old and been involved with kids professionally for a while now I can say that her relationships are almost painfully realistic.

(Minus the magic and demons). 15 year olds are constantly breaking up, getting back together, working things out, and figuring out what they want. And its just as aggrivating irl as it is in svtfoe. Star is a kid, shes had 1 boyfriend and she has a crush on someone else. Thats how a lot of teen romances are. Because teens are stupid and inexperienced.

Shes a /kid/. Like idk if its just me. But if star just matured in a straight line like some sage of romance, it would be weird. Shes a 15 year old. It would be weird if over the course of one year she had the perfect love life. I mean realistically if she did end up with marco or tom by series end. They wouldnt star together forever. Realistically if the show continued till star was 20, she'd still be deciding who to date.

Idk how to end this... anyways. Not hating on any ships or anything. Im what the kids call a "multishipper". And im not hating on povs either. If yall are upset about whatever. Than fine i dont really care. Thats your deal, and its how you feel so im not gonna hate son you for it.

hey! sorry this took sooooo long, i have just been very busy/very tired. 

i do ship inosaku, which i reblog a lot of art for and they usually feature as a background ship in my gaalee fics (see Find Me and The Art of Love) but i don’t really have a whole lot of wlw ships in naruto because even though i def read most, if not all, of the girls as gay, i don’t really see the same sort of romantic potential between like... tenten and temari (for instance). for me it just doesn’t read. i see them both as bi, along with sakura, but unlike with sakura we don’t get a lot of their relationships with other women which is suchhhh a travesty, and i actually really like shikatema and nejiten, and im not really much of a multishipper overall (i think my exceptions are like naruto and sakura) and like any hinata ship is just harder for me to like invest in because she’s just... so flat... but someday i’ll give her the personality kishimoto never did lmao 

but anyways i support all wlw naruto ships even if i don’t personally ship them myself

as far as sakuino hcs, i tend to hc that they get together sometime in their 20s when they’re both healed from the trauma of the war and have had time to sort of figure themselves out a bit more. i imagine that ino figures out she’s a lesbian well before sakura figures out she’s bi. i think sakura like struggles a lot with comphet (and it’s not really something we talk about for ppl who are bi, but i personally relate to that struggle of like being bi but feeling like im still struggling with comphet). so like she tries to date a bit but nothing really works for her. and then one day she’s taking care of ino after a night out drinking and she just kind of... feels very strongly about the moment where she brushes Ino’s hair out of her face as she’s sleeping and she’s like “oh shit” and realises that what she’d felt for sasuke in her youth was just like projecting romance onto an unattainable man and creating a rivalry with the person she’s always loved and she like panics because she’s ‘worried ino’s never gonna return her feelings or that ino will never speak to her again if she finds out 

but when ino wakes up she’s all groggy and delirious and thinks she’s like dreaming or something, and sakura’s there all nervous with like the perfect hangover cure and ino drags her into bed and is all cuddley and affectionate and murmuring sleepy sweet nothings.. and then she like wakes up and realises what shes just revealed while sakura is kind of in shock and ino freaks but then sakura kisses her--gross morning breath and all--and it’s fine. it’s exactly as it should be
