Reflection Ruesday (on Rednesday)

What to do: Go through your writing, art, gifs, etc. that you started but never finished and find something you love. Brush it up a bit if you want and share it.

OKAY this one was tough and the 'something I love' part issss [wavy hand motion] this is from years ago for a krogan character in the Andromeda timeline.

My tenses! They're all over the place and I could only clean it up so much but here gooooes

Uh CW for a bit of alien brutality/dismemberment/combat?

Voguhn moved fast for an 8 foot tall mountain. His biotic field thrummed to life, and he held it like a shield. The sniper’s round reflected back, taking out another attacker.

“Watch your ass, Kret!” The smaller warrior looked properly insulted at the accusatory tone. Good. More anger was better.

“Fuck off Voguhn I didn’t need your help!” There was wounded pride and anger in Kret’s eyes as he turned away and renewed his assault on the Kett party. Voguhn chuckled at the bolstered vigor in his companion’s attack. It was cut short, noticing a blur coming up from behind them. Balling up his armored fist, he turned, roaring, and seemingly punched the air.

The wraith hit the ground and flickered into sight, snarling and scrabbling to its feet.

Too slow.

The boot of an eight foot tall krogan stomped upon the wide head. The reinforced bone armor of the beast ensured it didn’t break

The first time.

Blow after blow came down on the stunned creature. With a snap, the front of it’s hammer shaped head dented in. Vog roared and continued stomping, two more and the wraith lay still and silent. Seizing it by the tail he swung it in a backhanded arc. The corpse-mace collided with another wraith. It was knocked on its side, shrieking as it hit the ground and attempted to right itself.

Voguhn flared blue, and both corpse and living wraith lifted into the air. The krogan spotted the kett sniper from before, and punched the air in his direction. A snarling wraith rocketed off towards the kett band. Vog followed close in its wake, leaping over the rocks and rushing across the gap between forces.

The kett ambush party was busy engaging the other three krogan, oblivious to an attack from the side. With a shriek, the first, still alive, wraith impacted the sniper with enough force to kill both of them. The silent corpse flew further, ineffectually landing among some rocks.

Vog leapt over the rock wall the kett were using as cover, firing off a round from the ruzad in his hands. And another, and another. The first kett was taken by surprise, but the one behind it thought fast, holding his comrades body up as a shield against the krogan.

The ruzad clicked empty, and without breaking his forward momentum, he slid the shotgun onto his back and grabbed the corpse. A round from one of the other krogan pierced another kett’s face, sending it crumpling to the ground.The massive warrior swung his new corpse-mace, knocking his kett adversary to the ground, weapon skittering across the rocks.

With a satisfied chuckle, Vog dropped the body, slamming his foot down onto the chest of the last living kett. He leaned down to stare the beaten enemy in the eye.

“This place.” he seized both of the kett’s arms.

“Belongs to…” he began straighening up, pulling the kett’s arms upward while his foot made sure the alien’s body remained anchored to the ground.

“...the…” Several sharp, popping sounds could be heard.

“KROGAN!” Roaring his words, two loud cracks of bones punctuated his declaration as he came away with the creature’s arms; the kett convulsing and falling silent beneath him.

Voguhn threw the limbs to the ground, and began the descent back to his patrol. The canyon was now devoid of gunshots and echoed with the celebratory shouts of a krogan warband.
