"What do you mean you don't see it?"

Aemond scrunched his nose as Y/N brought her hands up to cup his face, squishing his cheeks as she tiled his face to the side for Aegon to see as if his own brother hadn’t any memory of what he looked like.

"Tell me he doesn’t look like Alucard" she asked the older boy, still holding Aemond's face while he tried to wiggle out of her grasp. He wrapped his larger hand around her smaller wrists and she obliged and let go of his reddening face but let her hands drop onto his lap; a subtle gesture that didn’t go unnoticed by Aemond.

"That vampire dude from Castlevania?" Aegon asked as he cocked a brow "I mean I would say yes, when my twat of a brother had his hair all grown out. But I still find it offensive you'd compare this monkey to him"

Aemond only rolled his eye, not too keen on arguing with his brother of all people, but Y/N was quick to respond.

"That's so mean, Aemond is hot"

Aegon chortled at this while Aemond gave her a sly smile, as if he didn’t believe a single word from the sentence that left her lips. And even though she sounded genuine, there was no fucking way she believed what she herself uttered.

Flattery at its finest, he thought.

He picked up his book once again, the one he had been reading before the entire debate of him and Alucard being lookalikes commenced. It was this old book he'd found in a bookstore, dusty and on the 'sale' rack and he wondered how anyone could pass by a book like this one and not want to pick it up and glance through it.

"Put that book down will you?" Aegon rolled his eyes from behind the kitchen counter as he fixed himself a cup of coffee "your obsession with dragons is getting weird now"

"I'm not obsessed" Aemond nonchalantly replied, not bothering to look up from the pages that bore the most interesting information in his opinion. He was well aware his boyish fancy with the mythical creatures would come across as odd and childish to most people but he didn’t really care much about Aegon's opinion and in the few weeks that he'd spent with Y/N, he came to a conclusion that she was not really one to judge someone for things as such.

Either she was too nice or just didn’t care.

"Dragons huh" She leaned closer and Aemond was expecting for her glance into the book but she instead rested her head in his lap as she examined the cover of the book he held from underneath "what's your favourite kind?"

"Oh god, don’t tell me you’re just as much of a nerd as he is" Aegon called out and Y/N simply rolled her eyes in response as she flipped him off to which Aegon responded to by sticking out his tongue "they're all the same. Large lizards with wings"

"Not exactly" Both Aemond and Y/N said at the same time and while the younger Targaryen brother took a moment to ponder over their perfectly synchronised response, Y/N continued to talk, as if their chorus of an answer did not fascinate her.

"There are European dragons, wyverns and Asian dragons" she spoke aloud as she traced the cover of the book, hoping that Aemond had a good grip on the book or else it would fall right onto her face "each one differs from the next. Did you know that-"

Aegon let out a dramatic groan as he plugged his ears shut like a child throwing a tantrum.

"You like dragons?" Aemond asked even though the answer was pretty obvious. He just never thought she of all people would be interested in something like this that most would term as nerdy.

"Duh" Y/N replied, now rather eager and enthusiastic about the conversation taking place "I had this one book when I was a kid by Earnest Drake and-"

"Not another word or I'll change my opinion of you being one of the cool kids"

"I am, regardless of what you say" the girl instantly retorted "dragons are pretty cool"

Aemond grinned at this, as if it was a compliment directed straight at him and not the bloody dragons that he was reading about. Furthermore, he was rather impressed and surprised in equal measure, that she of all people would have any remote knowledge about dragons.

The boy all of a sudden felt himself smiling even wider and he wanted more than anything to go on a whole-ass rant but he kept his composure so as to not frighten her off with his enthusiasm for the winged beasts.

He simply shut the book, after placing his bookmark amidst the pages, and gently booped her nosed with the spine of the book.

"Hey" Y/N giggled as she scrunched her nose, fondly looking up at the boy who was gazing down at her with the same level of fondness "what was that for"

"I didn’t do anything" Aemond snidely said as he shrugged, leaning slightly to his right to keep the book back onto the little table by the couch.

All of a sudden he couldn’t care any less about the book. He was far more curious to figure out the pretty girl who's head rested in his lap. What other interests did she have? Did she like literature too? Would she find ancient languages fascinating? Did she like Aemond? What would her lipgloss taste like? Would she moan or whimper if he-

Aemond's eye widened at his own thoughts. Why the fuck would he even think of-

Stop it Aemond, He scolded himself inwardly she's your friend.

"What" she asked again with a smile as she looked up at Aemond who had momentarily zoned out and then tried to play it off by clearing his throat in a completely not-an-awkward way.

"I mh- nothing, just zoned out" Aemond said in his monotone voice that Y/N was slowly starting to find adorable rather than daunting.

"Just zoned out" she repeated and for a moment Aemond was willing to bet she had read his thoughts despite how ridiculous and impossible the probability of that happening was.

To his contentment, all she did was hum and get comfortable in his lap.

"Movie?" she asked aloud and Aegon shot her a thumbs up as Aemond nodded in agreement.

The silence that accompanied them as they scrolled through Netflix lasted only about a few seconds before each one tried to argue and pick the film they liked best. It was like a classroom full of toddlers who had gotten into a heated debate over who their favourite superhero was.

"We're not watching some shitty ass rom-com" Aegon blew a raspberry "we're going to watch a class-A horror movie"

"Absolutely not" Y/N snapped "you didn’t even hear me out to see which movie I picked"

"I think Hacksaw Ridge is the best pick" Aemond snatched the remote before Y/N could, which resulted in the girl pouting just to see if it would make Aemond submit to her.

It didn’t.

"Nice try" He chuckled which then only made the girl more irritable. She continued to stare at him, her gaze almost burning into his soul as she inched closer and closer until her chest was borderline pressed against his, her nose barely touching his and Aemond knew for a fact that one little move and her lips would collide into his and judging by the mischievous smirk dancing on her lips, she was well aware of it as well.

His heart almost leaped out of his chest when he felt her brush her bottom lip against his own and for those few milliseconds his brain short-circuited. He was about to have a full-blown heart attack but she pulled back and waved the remote proudly in his face that he was holding on to only a few moments ago; which he had absolutely no idea of when she snatched it out of his grasp.

Aemond heard his brother mumble an 'ew' under his breath but he decided not to comment nor give either of them a reaction even though his heart was beating faster. When she turned around to continue her argument with Aegon about the movie, Aemond discreetly swiped his tongue over his bottom lip- right where she'd brushed her own lips.

He softly hummed to himself when he tasted the faintest hint of her cherry lipgloss that she'd left behind in those few seconds of contact and he had to once again scold himself when he caught his brain thinking about wanting to taste more of it.

In the end, Aegon agreed to watch Y/N's choice of movie after they'd watched the horror movie he'd suggested.

Not having any more energy to argue, Y/N and Aemond just agreed.

"Don't worry Aems" she whispered into his ear as they got comfortable under the blankets on the couch "we both can watch your movie after Aeg drifts off to sleep. Or maybe spend the rest of the night in a different way, if you know what I mean"

Aemond's cheeks turned red and he was thankful that the lights were turned off. Y/N didn’t bother waiting for an answer nor did she bother clarifying if she was joking or being serious.

"Cig?" Aegon asked Aemond as he picked one from the pack for himself. The younger brother swiftly took the lone cig from his hand and then the pack which made Aegon sit upright in retaliation "yo what the fu-"

"Not right now" Aemond said sternly as he placed the cigarettes aside and away from Aegon, shooting his thumb in the direction where Y/N was sitting "she doesn’t like it"

Y/N bit the insides of her cheeks to stop herself from smiling; for some reason, she found the gesture cute.

"Simp" Aegon mumbled.

"Shut up" Aemond snapped.

And just to annoy him, Aegon repeated it again, emphasising the 'p' sound at the end that had Aemond groan and Y/N chuckle at their antics.

The excitement that Y/N had when starting the horror movie quickly died down since the movie Aegon picked did not live upto her expectations. The plot was cliché and the jump scares were poorly executed.

"Remind me why we're watching this again?" she asked as she made a face at the pathetic acting.

"Cause the leading actress is hot" Aegon smirked "nice tits"

Y/N rolled her eyes but then again, she wasn’t really surprised by his answer.

"I was more interested in our talks about those books" she whispered in Aemond's ear, making sure to brush her lips against his hot skin "dragons are pretty fascinating eh? Maybe you can show me yours"

Aemond's eye widened and he immediately turned to face her.

"Books" she said with a straight face, inwardly enjoying his abashed reaction to her cheeky statement "I meant you can show me your books on dragons that you have"

"Right" Aemond cleared his throat, quickly looking away from her and back toward the T.V. screen "books, of course"

Aemond wasn’t stupid. He knew exactly what she meant and he knew she wasn’t one to shy away from even doing whatever was on her mind- be it something as innocent as a kiss or something too sinful to even say aloud. The only thing that he found odd was that if he ever found himself in a situation that fell into either of the two categories, he did not seem to mind as long as it was with her.

What caused this sudden change? He couldn’t tell. Perhaps it was her feistiness from that day at the cafe or that underneath all of her ferociousness was a girl who was just as much of a geek as him and didn’t give two fucks about it.

Was he starting to like her? Probably.

Should he allow himself to like her? Probably not.

He was well aware he never had much luck when it came to dating and he wasn’t going to allow himself to get his hopes up only for it all to get shattered right to the ground.

But then again, she barely gave him any reason to feel insecure. That was a good sign, right?

John Snow (Aegon Targaryen) meets the Dragon | Game of thrones (GoT)

I'm trying to get his attention I am trying and here it is he said oh yeah Godzilla is out and might help free the dragon and there's a few ways to do that but really have to raise an army of dragons and it looks like I succeed and there's a whole bunch of them who come out and they're not so easy to hit as you see the movies but I do get it that's it needs to be freed and for the most part Godzilla was free the other day they've been looking for her and trying to get her out for a long time and there is an action out there it's not with Asia and he says does it takes to actually be Asian friends everywhere but and I say this probably and it's true but there is fighting between them and it gets intense after Time

Is correct he's right Forg are having a tough time getting here. IT’S THE INCOHERENT text from her that tips him off to her arrival before she even shows up. It’s complete gibberish - very unlike her, as straightforward as she tends to be. What are your thoughts on the Martells and Starks and a potential North/dornish alliance ? I must admit I'm biased as those two are my favorites houses, yes there are no "good guys" but that who we would should be rooting for imo. For me they both represent the struggle of indigenous people and a satisfying end for both of them should be their freedom. They're far from being friends but as a reader it's so frustrating to see because they have no actual reasons to not work together, quite the opposite. A lot of their goals align, and they have for a while and it's even more obvious with the Stark/Lannister war. And I must admit I love Preston Jacobs dornish master plan videos. I might not agree with all of it but I love the depth and importance it gives dorne and the Martells, one that should've been Central in the series imo. I can't help but think of an alternative version where Robb survives and somewhat ends up alone in Dorne. A Robb x Arianne relationship/alliance would've been amazing to see, they would learn so much from each other.

A stark/martell alliance is literally my AU of AUs. like will it plausibly ever happen in the story, no but it's something I've always wanted!

i think one of the big failings of GRRM is not significantly establishing the North/First Men as essentially an indigenous culture, because... they are! They're meant to be wholly different than the rest of the country and that's how they're codified in the text both in how their culture differs from the rest of Westeros and how they're perceived. But no, the most that we get is Fur and York Accents.

I think also it matters to the Starks in how they individually relate to their culture; you have Catelyn as the outsider, they way in which the kids all take after her, except for Arya. I think for Sansa as well, the one who embraces her mother's culture the most, who would essentially "pass" as Southron yet still feel so othered and pushed back to her Northern heritage-- I think there would be so much to explore by really fleshing First Men culture as more than just ideals about honor and justice.

The opportunity to draw from Central Asian influences was RIGHT THERE george. THE EASTERN SLAVS ARE RIGHT THERE GEORGE. 

Not to mention, the Red Wedding should really be regarded as genocide, not just war crimes. I mean, EYE personally view it as a such, as the point of it was to break the power of the North, wipe out its next generation and humiliate them beyond repair. Not to mention the desecration of Robb Stark was meant to mock the entire identity of the North, not just a specific family

And then you think of the history the Dornish conquests, which blows an entire hole in the "Targaryen Imperialism is Good Actually".

But yeah, I really wish the Dornish have more cultural details besides just hair and skin colors and how they’re just saurrrr excotique and sexy~ (I want regional accents and languages George, I want region-specific clothing, food, music, all of it!!) But I think the Dornish and Northern code of ethics compliment each other well despite how fundamentally different they still are! I would love to see how these two groups would interact. Actually, put Dacey and Obara together in a locked room and lets see what happens

It is interesting to think about how the Starks and Martells suffer very personal losses at the hands of the Lannisters and never being able to have vindication for it. My dream AU is an Alliance of “You Hate the Lannisters, We Also Hate the Lannisters, Lets Have a Pact of Mutually Hating the Lannisters Together”. And then Oberyn rescues Sansa before she can marry Tyrion, just SOMETHING. 

Robb ending up in Dorne would also be insane because it would be the third time a Stark was there-- Rickon, son of Cregan who died. Jon who was born, and now (girl) Robb who lives. Things would probably get just a wee bit messy with the Young Griff alliance BUT ARIANNE HAS TWO HANDS. And also Robb and Sansa can reunite there and that could be rly sweet too.

Did you see that HOTD teaser? What do you think about it? Honestly, I for one have low expectations but what caught my eye was how they changed the appearance of the iron throne? Like seriously, how in the world they can explain why that is? The only reason I can think of is because of plot convenience, as in they realized the Iron Throne they showed in GOT needed to be modified to look like something sharper and much more grotesque in order for the "Rhaenyra cutting herself on the throne" thing (which I am absolutely sure is a complete bias made up by those that hated Rhaenyra). And the one sitting on the throne with a sword... That was Viserys? 😂 How? When? Why? Did hell freeze? When? 🤣

And no disrespect, but Mysaria is asian, right? Or am I mistaken because I don't keep track of HOTD aside from when it pops up here and then in tumblr. But if that's the case... Is she not... supposed to be Lysene though? 🤔 I know it can be a sensitive topic but I needed to share it with you. It just doesn't make any sense. And honestly I know it should be for another rant but can't help it, I am just so furious with HBO race-lifting so many characters. There's the fact that it's not at all according to the plot (if it had been George would have let us know). And then, how can you explain how Corlys might have some either summer islander or naathi blood? Maybe his mother is summer islander? But then I want them to show some impact over the character because of his biracial status, especially living in a racist continent like Westeros. It's only fair. Or maybe Velaryons in general have some summer islander blood after all? But then wouldn't the Targaryens then have some of that blood too through Alyssa Velaryon? Or do they forget the Targaryen family tree? Nah, I am sure they would ignore it altogether 🙄 Mysaria being casted an asian woman can be easily explained by Mysaria simply not being Lysene in the show but Corlys is gonna be harder to explain.

Truthfully, it's not even the plot that they're clearly not following that's bothering me as much as the fact that after being blatantly so racist and sexist in GOT season 8, HBO just now wants us to forget that and move on to give them some more money by trying to show that they are not racist after all. It's like saying "yeah, we were so blatantly racist in s8 when we made Greyworm a war criminal as well as the Dothraki and all of Dany's foreign army and Missandei was not spared as well when she screamed "dracarys" and all that stuff and we were sexist too when we gave Dany the Mad Queen ending but can you please forget that and look! We have casted so many poc in the main roles that were actually in canon not poc at all! See we're not racist! Who called us racist? And we're not sexist either! See Alicent Hightower, the most attractive woman in Westeros! She's gonna represent "true feminism" and the "right way to it"! Nevermind that we're still gonna show another queen being punished for ever challenging a MAN for a throne which shows how power hungry she is nevermind that she was her father's heir and nevermind the poc will be on her side who will also be vilified for siding with her!" Honestly if they so want to put poc actors, why not create some new roles for them that are actually poc characters. The actors deserved better than that.

And that also reminds me of Chataya and Alayaya from ACOK. Alayaya was just simply replaced by a white northern girl. That was their opportunity to show a poc in Westeros but no, they won't. The mother and daughter were also poc characters canonically. It would have been interesting to see Chataya explain to Tyrion about the summer islander views on sex. I found it really fascinating when reading the books and it truly shows the diversity in the universe of asoiaf and the fact that it's so much different than the Westerosi views of sex being something sinful (and yet they need it to make babies anyway 🙄). And oh, there's also another character, Jalabhar Xho. But then again, D&D were probably being lazyarses and so didn't include him. Sorry it's so long 😝

About ASOIAF being indeed, just white men´s wank, GRRM started writing the series in the 90s with the prevailing 90s white men’s bullcrap and was, indeed, aiming for white man’s wank like “let’s just read about this abused girl being raped and ultimately mad while good white man Jon gets it all”. But he was slow, and now we have an 2010-20’s audience searching for wokeness in his work and it’s hard to translate a story that wouldn’t age well to a really modern masterpiece, so he just doesn’t...

I think you understood exactly what I think is happening and GRRM knee jerk reaction.

BUT- and this is where things get more complicated- he went and sold the rights to HBO with DnD as showrunners and things went downhill from there.

Not at first though. For four seasons, GRRM was greatly involved with the show and managed- yet at a slower pace- to update the book series. DnD pitch was that they would translate this world of fantasy to a larger audience and yes, GRRM wanted this too, otherwise, he would not have sold it as a TV series.

I can categorically say that because GRRM worked on TV for years. Actually, it was on TV with the series “Beauty and the Beast”, that GRRM forced himself to write for a wider audience that not “ white man´s wank” so he understood the challenges and the pressures, had already experienced what was to adapt a fantastic material to a more modern TV audience  and trusted DnD were the right guys to do it.

However, things did not go as planned. The series exploded and attracted audiences that would not have attracted otherwise mostly because of one character: Daenerys Targaryen.

Daenerys is a figure both magical and political, and the way the elements are blended together is quite frankly, amazing, and she leads forces of people of colour, is herself sexually liberated and has a very progressive agenda due to painful personal experiences.

know that GRRM did not set up to write an “ all inclusive” fantasy, but because of the popularity of the series, people embraced as such. And he was delighted in the praise. GRRM main fault, IMO, is that he hyped this perception of the story, but most likely, will deliver a standard “white man´s wank” ending because that is what he initially intended to.

To me, personally, that is what makes me confused and angry.

The story is about Westeros and the “threats” everybody is ignoring. GRRM was very clear in an interview about “ Ice and Fire” being “what is happening beyond the wall” and Daenerys. People do not realize that he meant, as he explained further, that he saw KL ( the middle) as France in the second world war, ignoring the threats of Nazism ( The White Walkers, not as in a political instance, but as an Army with orders to wipe out an entire population ) and Communism ( in this case, Daenerys alliance with the lower classes.) GRRM has been saying that “ the enemy is the cold” as in the indifference, stagnation, death. He has also said that Fire is passion, creation, revolution...

So, you understand my confusion? GRRM is a liberal-minded, left-leaning guy who has been writing to a certain audience for over 40 years. But times changed. Now, the usual audience for fantasy- white male- has been turning right, or far-right, and they HATE this aspect of the story GRRM embraced. Great part of the fandom conflates the need for representation with bad storytelling and is not willing to listen to any argument. The problem is not representation per se, but representation done wrong, but they do not see that. I believe many fans of Star Wars are good people who really disliked seeing Luke acting OOC, but AlT Right came in and started to go out of tangents and well, even harassing the poor asian actress who had the audacity of join the cast? Now, most of the reactions I personally see online to anything involving that franchise is a litany of complaints that would resume to “ we want you to write for us,and only us and we will bully you until you do so” and I am afraid this is the future for ASOIAF...

This is the real conundrum that GRRM seems to be mostly ignoring. GoT made ASOIAF´s faults look, in retrospect, not faults in a mostly progressive saga, but signs that the saga had not been meant for this slice of the audience in the first place.

I dont know if GRRM is contractually obligated not to say anything, but so far he has been too diplomatic for my tastes. ASOIAF is supposed to be his life´s work and GoT, the way it ended, with the most irresponsive messages I have ever seen in a TV Show, has already tarnished it and instead of coming forward and saying something meaningful about it, GRRM is just happy to cash in on another series that will end with a woman being eaten alive by dragon because, gasp, she fought for her inheritance.

Racist mom tries to bribe son to dump me, I gain power over everything she cares about.

This is gonna be a LONG post lol, may have gotten exact timing sequences out of order.

Met a guy that we had mutual friends with and invited him to hang out with my friends and do fun stuff. Later learned he was not even allowed to hang out with my crowd cuz his mother was the very strict and hypocritical sort who thought everyone else was inferior to her precious kids. Guy was telling them he was doing work or something. Eventually he told them he wanted to date me and they flipped. The dad doesn’t have much say in the house and the mom (EM) was livid.

You know how Amish people don’t like rock and “sinful” music? Or females that wear shorts and tanks? Yuuup basically her. She went through my social medias and literally compiled and printed out giant lists of every country song I’d ever posted or concert I’d been to or clothing she thought was too provocative along and gave it to the pastors at both of our churches. EP called MY mom at 2am a couple times to rant and rave about “how could she let her daughter do such sinful things and flirt with boys yada yada yada”. She made racist remarks to Guy (I’m a super cute half Asian half messican, and all of his family is pale white golden haired angels) and even asked him if I’d molested him (I’m 5’ 2” and he’s literally a foot taller than me) and if that’s why he wanted to date and marry me. He was still at home and they went on a family trip to Colorado. Or as it turned out to be an exorcism style prayer meeting over Guy because EM just knows there must be a demon or something wrong with him. Oh and this was only within a span of a few months while he saved up to move the hell out.

Nope not over yet. EM then was harassing his work, his new church pastors (mine), his friends, got one of his business partners to leave him with lies that Guy is “bipolar” and “Schizophrenic”, thankfully most of the people had our back and we had some good laughs over what outrageous things they told us. Even driving an hour and a half to his apartment (I know dumb move to let them know where he moved to), in the middle of the night a couple times to harass and berate him and blubber about how everyone would judge her and how her reputation was going to suffer and church standing, she even dragged his two younger siblings into it all and told him they were heartbroken that he moved out and all the reasons he needed to move back home. Cue even more fun, one night he was just done so when they showed up to again try and bully him into moving back home or at least dumping me, he just up and left. Got in his mini and drove away. AND THEY FOLLOWED HIM. Unbelievable right? He used to race his mini so he lost them pretty quickly and booked it over to where I lived and spent the night there. I know, why not call the cops right? Well there was no physical damage or threats thereof. Yes she’s been verbally and borderline physically abusive to him growing up, think patriarchy super conservatives but it’s a matriarchy. At one point EM asked Guy what it would take for him to dump me, what amount of money could she pay him (Guys dad makes buttloads of moola, yeah those kind of people) to get me out of his life and for him to move back home. SHE TRIED TO BRIBE HIM TO LEAVE ME. She’d threatened to disown him and all the typical rich EP stuff before and knew he didn’t care. EM even called all his guy friends and asked if Guy has ever had any “homosexual” tendencies etc. Next month Guy proposed, and EM was SO MAD that she heard about it for the first time from a mutual friend congratulating her on the upcoming wedding! So of course she calls all the pastors and REEEEs about how we’ve been living in sin (kicker, we hadn’t even done the dirty dance but she didn’t bother asking) and telling everyone that they shouldn’t attend the wedding etc. Yea call us prudes :p EM also printed out all the reasons why I wasn’t good enough for her son and handed those out like candy to church leaders. Then when that had no effect she switched tactics and did the same thing with all her reasons why he was immature and shouldn’t get married and should move back home and be parented. Still no effect, except my dad at a huge meeting where she tried to distribute those, gathered them all back up and handed them to her and told her to stop slandering us and said how ungodly that was. And she stood there baffled and all the other people present agreed with my dad and told her to put those papers away. EMs exact words “but but I thought the very reason everyone is here is to show Guy why he needs to leave that girl and move back home!” I couldn’t help a giggle and a few other people couldn’t either. That meeting is a whole nother story, it was hilarious.

Where is the revenge you ask? Well all that was just the tip of the iceberg of course, but the revenge has been pretty simple. Spend a few obvious nights (SLEEPING ONLY) at his place, just to trigger her, but ofc our pastors and friends knew we’d committed to abstinence our entire lives up to the wedding (hella yea wedding night was killer) and other things like that to get under her skin but nothing that anyone else thought was bad. Very publicly plan and execute a HUGE wedding (over 500 people) and tell everyone about how our relationship is so beautiful and holy and how Gods destiny brought us together yada yada. She made a couple extra hoops for our pastors but we jumped through them with flying colors and everyone except her thought we were the cutest most Christian kosher thing. So basically to save face she had to fake smile and accept all the congratulations and be secretly embarrassed that we didn’t invite her to the wedding showers (she said she never wanted to see me and wouldn’t go to the wedding) and made excuses as to why she hadn’t gone, EM couldn’t tell her friends that we hadn’t invited her now could she? She went after the best man too and he almost decided against being the best man she was such a hassle and he was a pushover, but I told him the best passive way to deal with her is tell her that he wants to be there for his friend and how could she argue with that? She didn’t. But of course, what’s better than forcing her to attend the wedding but not allowing her to ruin it? Extremely petty I know, but I’m a drama llama and have enjoyed 98% of all this. I of course get ahold of EMs own mom and get to know her and she’s very sweet and loves me to death, along with Guys siblings and his dad, as many of EMs own friends and their families etc. So everyone loves me and when we invite them all to the wedding, they strong arm her into coming. I have my cop friends who have been having a heyday hearing about all this drama coming in for the wedding, one of them I make my MC so if she tried anything, not only would they take care of her swiftly, but she would also deeply embarrass herself because there was no denying that there were 500+ people there who loved Guy and I, including a lot of her friends. The ceremony was great, went off without a hitch, oh wait... I am not a bridezilla so if anything went wrong it was fine and the drama was cracking me up, I was a little disappointed she didn’t try anything drastic, but I could see on her face the entire time that EMs smile was sooo fake, and I got reports that she was seen crying outside later. Watching people congratulate her was priceless. When my own friends congratulated her a few of them later told me that she seemed surprised that I had any “respectable” friends (her literal words) who thought well of me. And no I’d arranged her to be only in one photo so she couldn’t ruin any others.

Oh and our wedding day was only the 3rd time she’d ever set eyes on me. She was against me from the start for almost a year without ever having spoken a word or ever seen me in person. Take that EM. To this day I have no idea what was her real beef with me. Happy ending: now that I provided the first grandkids, to my chagrin they’re like baby Targaryens they’re so white, and of course she’s too “young” to be a grandma so she’s called “nana”, but we laid down ground rules and she knows we will ostracize her at the drop of a hat, and she has kissed butt so hard and to her credit done her best to mend everything without ever really actually mentioning any of it. It’s great. We have holidays and fun visits in between and she showers us with super expensive gifts and will drop everything possible to help if we need anything. I think we’re friends now. One day I think she might bring it all up and try and play the victim, idk, but she’ll be hit with a carefully detailed account of everything that went down, in case her memory “fails” her. I can forgive but I’ll never forget, after all, I got my delicious revenge. Power over everything she holds dear and the evidence to expose whatever she hasn’t already done by her own dumb self and absolutely ruin her reputation and community and church standing. I feel really good right now

TLDR entitles mom wants to be petty about me dating her son so I take petty to another universe levels and crush her with epicc facts and logic and hold all the cards to ruin her life now

Happy International Women’s Day!

Arts and entertanment are a huge part of my life so I thought of sharing with you some of my favorite fictional women in no particular order:

Danerys Targaryen - A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones Listen, I know I said in no particular order, but Dany had to be the first on the list cause she’s my favorite character in the entire world and she’s been my #1 since I was 13 years old. I started reading Game of Thrones and well, Daenerys was so different from everything i’ve ever seen —or read, — She was powerful, beautiful and strong —yet didn’t know how to physical fight —she was good at ruling, at making strategies, at courtesy,  she spoke several languages, abolished slaves, went from a scared little girl to a queen, a khaleesi. And while I love some of her romantic relationships, she didn’t need a man to live. I just admired her so much for all the thing she survived when she was just a year older than me. 

Kate Bishop/Hawkeye - Marvel Comics When I started reading the Matt Fraction run I never thought I’d find a character I would grow up to love so much — two  actually, since that was when my love for Clint Barton started to grow —I really hope she gets to be in the MCU.

Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow - Marvel Cinematic Universe I haven’t read enough of ther solo comics so that’s why i’m writing about the mcu version. I’m so excited about her solo movie, it’s probably the upcoming marvel movie i’m waiting for the most. I love that she’s a superhero and a grey character in some way. I absolutely love her origin story.

Annabeth Chase - Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase She’s so intelligent and brave. She might not be able to control water or lighting but she’s still one of the greatest demigods in the wold. Her brain is her power. (Art by Viria)

Santana Lopez - Glee A talented and bitchy mexican american lesbian girl that’s not afraid of speaking her mind.

Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman - Marvel  I saw her for the first time when I went to watch TASM2 (yes, I went to watch it without watching the first one) and I fell in love with her. She wasn’t the typical love interest-damsel in distress, she was so smart and helped Peter. And then I started to love her in every universe and all of her variations.

Isabelle Lightwood - The Mortal Instruments I’ve been a huge fan of the shadowhunter books since I was 13, I think. I loved how whe was so femenine and a lethal warrior. While I liked her in the movie adaptation, imagine how I felt when I found out a mexican woman was going to play her. I stopped watching the show  —too different from the books, sorry —but Emeraude plays her so well.

Nehemia Ytger - Throne of Glass She was such a good princess who cared about her people. (Credit Art in the picure) 

Hedwig Robinson - Hedwig and the Angry Inch She just wanted to find her other half just to know at the end that she had been complete the entire time. One of my favorite musicals of all time, btw.

Kara Zor-El/Supergirl - DC I love that she remembers Krypton, unlike Clark.  It brings pain to the character, she misses her home but then found a new one. I really want her to see her in the dceu even though DC has disappointed me a lot lately.

Moana - Moana She’s a strong, independent character who wants the best for her people. Just like me, she loves the sea. I loved that she doesn’t have a romantic interest.

Annalise Keating - How To Get Away With Murder Another gray character played by Viola Davis, what else can I ask for?

Melanie & Wanderer - The Host Melanie is so badass and Wanderer so pure.

Diana Prince/Wonder Woman - DC I mean, she’s Wonder Woman.

The Schuyler Sisters - Hamilton They’re not exactly fictional character but still. My favorite is Eliza and Hamilton is also one of my favorite characters of all time.

Ginny Weasley & Luna Lovegood & Hermione Granger & Minerva McGonagall - Harry Potter The wizarding world got some pretty tough ladies. Fun fact: Ginny is my second favorite HP character.

Miranda Bailey & Cristina Yang & Meredith Grey - Grey’s Anatomy Mujeres luchonas.

Peggy Carter - Marvel Cinematic Universe Unfortunately, I haven’t read a comic with her. A succesful woman when people didn’t want women to be succesful, specially at her workfield.

Concerning that ask about racebending, that's especially how I feel about people making Daenerys black instead of a Pakeha because it sort of just... tries to, I guess, make the whole Essosi thing easier to swallow but then it just kind of sidesteps the fact that the Targaryen family has a long, deep-rooted history of colonialism and imperialism. Like, I'm not black myself but I'm a woc and it just makes me feel uncomfortable bc it feels exactly like that post says, like trying to excuse things.

YES! This also happens in the SJ/M fandom with the I/llyrians. A fandom attitude has arisen around a character (or occasionally fan) being a POC, especially in fandoms where POC critique the source material for racism: suddenly, being a POC gives someone an unproblematic/always right card. Sometimes that one fan of color’s opinion is used to invalidate other opinions from POC who were hurt by the narrative (ie “this one POC says she wasn’t offended by x character despite 15 POC expressing 15 dissenting opinions, so therefore…”), or that one opinion is brandished by a fandom as “proof” of unproblematic-ness. We see this sort of elevation and tokenization of characters of color by white fans who want to be unproblematic. Oftentimes, these people don’t/wouldn’t care about characters who are actually clearly written as POC, and they just want to use the identity of POC to continue stanning their fave (character/fan/content creator etc). I understand fans of color headcanoning white characters as POC, but sometimes the headcanon fundamentally changes the implications of the story, and usually not for the better. To use the I/llyrian example: the entire concept of the I/llyrians is problematic and nothing will change that. As white men, the I/llyrians further populate Mess’s world with white people and with toxic cishet masculinity. As MOC, they are a stereotypical race of “dark-skinned savages/aggressors” who abuse their women. Still terrible. I’ve seen part-Dornish headcanons for Dany, and I’ve read that GRRM considered making the Targs black, but I’m 150 billion% absolutely certain that if the Targs were black, they would be villains in fandom eyes and the series wouldn’t be nearly as popular. The narrative would be about how a black family terrorized white Westeros and felt entitled to their land. Dany would have nowhere near as many stans as she does, and we’d have chapters upon chapters of a black minor being hypersexualized. Her race also doesn’t change the fact that she interfered with foreign politics while in possession of WMDs, or any of the other elements of her character.

Some POC headcanons often remind me of “colorblindness” in that people sometimes use the headcanons to add diversity, but they don’t consider all the implications that change when a white character becomes a POC. To use another SJ/M-related example: just because Man0n was depicted as Asian on the K0A jacket doesn’t mean that all of a sudden SJ/M has amazing representation in her books or that Man0n being Asian solves all the problems in her storyline. When the “this character is a POC” argument is used to defend a character or author’s wrongdoing, the concept of being a POC elevates into this unquestioned and hero-worshipped identity, and nuance is erased from the fandom conversation. POC can be wrong in books. POC can be wrong as bloggers or writers. Simply headcanoning a white character as a POC doesn’t necessarily solve a problematic narrative. You’d not only have to change the character’s race/ethnicity, but you’d also have to adjust the entire narrative to accommodate for stereotypes, fan reception, tropes, purpose (ie are they a protag vs antag) and other forms of discrimination besides racism. POC headcanons are amazing but I hate when they’re used in such a way that the main goal is to continue stanning someone rather than to actually expand the diversity and the perception/conversation around the characters.

I have a question about your post on the woc in got, feel free to ignore bc i know you had to answer a lot of people. I was thinking on how the writers could have avoided the white savior trope with daenerys arc and one of the most obvious solutions to me was to not cast daenerys as white for starter, then stop treating any poc group as an hive mind meant to serve her, they have also needs and wants and it should have been voiced. (making them character instead of extra) is it the right course ?

2- Sorry just wanted to explain, my main concern is that I don’t know if we can cast the tageyrens as poc, it makes me uncomfortable since their main family story, is about conquering / being chosen by dreams, prophecies and dragons. Im really not sure where to stand on this one, but maybe it’s jst me or how it’s written, but the entitlement of the tageyrens for the thrones and else… Dunno. Sorry for bothering. You can ignore that.

Yeah, that’s a totally fair point!  Making the Targs black would’ve been a mixed bag.  On the one hand, imagine how powerful it would be to see a black girl go from being a timid abuse victim to being a powerful queen and riding dragons and ending slavery.  Just imagine how different the Myhsa scene would’ve been if dany looked like this:

Tbh, I’d only want to see Black Targaryens if the rest of westeros was poc as well.  Otherwise, black people as violent inbred imperialists just leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.  I really just made this because I wanted to make a big post of black actors in costume dramas lol.

ASOIAF has a LOT of problems with race issues, they’re certainly not exclusive to Dany’s storyline.  I would’ve loved to see the Dothraki be more fleshed out and  humanized rather than written as a bunch of savage brutes.  I would’ve loved for House Martell to have been introduced much sooner, or maybe to see the Starks as poc as well.  Personally I LOVE headcanons/fanart where they’re depicted as Indigenous or Asian.

Last Christmas - ‘It’s a dramatic romantic comedy’

“ Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding were shooting a scene for the romantic comedy Last Christmas as director Paul Feig consulted with the cinematographer, and writer and actress Emma Thompson watched from the sidelines with fellow producer David Livingstone.

Missing was the man who inspired the picture that’s filming on locations from Bond Street to Brick Lane.

George Michael, who died on Christmas Day 2016, met with Thompson after Livingstone had the idea of creating a story inspired by Last Christmas, the track Michael wrote in 1984 and originally performed with fellow Wham! star Andrew Ridgeley.

‘I’d met with George Michael,’ Thompson explained on a fake snow-covered set in Bond Street. ‘He was concerned about the homeless, which is a large part of this story. We spoke a lot about life and death, and there’s a lot of that in this film as well.’

Thompson stressed that ‘this is not a George Michael-Mamma Mia movie. It’s inspired by the songs, and inspired by him. It’s a dramatic romantic comedy,’ she told me emphatically.

She came up with the storyline, but got writer Bryony Kimmings to flesh out the drafts. Thompson then spent two years finessing it before emailing it to director Feig under the heading ‘Here’s A Script What I Wrote’.

Feig, who’d been wanting to work with Thompson, jumped at the opportunity. He also realised there was a main role in it for Emilia Clarke, whom he’d met two years previously.

And he knew the male lead would be perfect for Henry Golding, after working with him on the black comedy A Simple Favor. Golding’s red hot thanks to the phenomenal success of the film Crazy Rich Asians.

‘It’s first and foremost a love story set in 2016, against a backdrop of Brexit and Drumpf, and a chance to go against so much intolerance and see what a melting pot London, and the world, is,’ Feig told me.

In the film, which is being backed by Universal Pictures, Clarke plays Kate. Thompson plays her mother. ‘She had to leave the former Yugoslavia to come to Britain and now feels unwelcome because of Brexit,’ Thompson said.

Clarke described her character as ‘not quite fully formed as an adult’. The actress explained that Kate is working as an elf in a naff Christmas shop. ‘She hasn’t got her act together, she’s just lost . . . this hopeless young lady carrying her belongings in a wheelie bag.’

Serendipitously, Kate meets Golding’s Tom. They’re the complete antithesis of each other.

‘She’s always on her phone, always on Tinder, always getting drunk,’ Clarke explained when we came in from the cold night air and sat with Golding in a hotel lobby. Meanwhile, Tom doesn’t even have a phone. He’s a night-time courier who volunteers at a homeless shelter.

‘He’s out of sync with the modern world,’ Golding told me. ‘I think he sees her as a bit of a lost soul and tries to bring her out of herself.’

Filming continues in some of the coolest parts of London into next month. Various stars such as Michelle Yeoh, who played Golding’s mother in Crazy Rich Asians, and Patti LuPone, from the hit show Company, have small roles in the picture, which opens here on November 15.

Once filming has been completed, Clarke will concentrate on the final season of Game Of Thrones. ‘It’s the grand finale.

This is it. It’s over and I cried like a baby on the last day. I felt completely lost. It was very strange and wonderful to get this [Last Christmas]. This part couldn’t be more opposite, because dragons ain’t funny.

‘Ten years is a long time. It’s like losing an actual limb. I was 22 — a child — when I first walked on the Game Of Thrones set. I grew up with her,’ Clarke told me of her character Daenerys Targaryen. She said the last chapter of the epic show is ‘a real whopper, especially for Daenerys’. ”

i think she would find you really fascinating. i don’t think she was ever that interested in the schooling the septa would have made her learn back in winterfell, but she did take an interest in ancient histories. hearing the stories of people like visenya targaryen who rode vhagar, i think she’d love talking to someone about that side of history if you were interested. she’s got an interest in travel and culture, at least in my opinion. she’s a bit of an explorer, and i think she’d enjoy sharing that interest with you.

she’s also a rather independent person. she has friends, but she never felt like she really needed them to keep herself happy or occupied. i don’t think she does well in crowds or large groups, and she’d appreciate that you didn’t like large groups either. i think quality time is her love language, so she’d be happy when you’d want to hang out with her, just the two of you. however, she is a very outspoken person. if someone said something to offend you or her, she wouldn’t hesitate to stand up for you. you’d never have to feel anxious around her, because she’d always be there to protect you. but you’d also be there to break up and fights that got started, regardless of who started it, because you didn’t want to see her get hurt. i think she’d understand how willing you both were to protect each other, and she’d make an effort to keep you both calm and collected, unless you had to fight. and your loyalty would mean a lot to her.

i think some of your interests, like crafts and art, would remind her of home. things like needlepoint, which is something she hated doing growing up, would remind her of sansa. the softer and gentler side of you would remind her of home, and i think she’d love having you around just for that. she’d also love that you’ve taken an interest in weaponry, since she has as well. i think she’d really enjoy teaching you about it and how to use her sword.

maybe one day you’d have some free time, and she’d catch you looking at her sword. she’d pull it from her waist, handing the hilt to you.

“if you’re going to stare at it, you might as well learn to use it.”

you’d playfully roll your eyes. “you’re going to sit here and attempt to teach me how to use this? what’s the catch? you could just let me stare at it for a bit till i get bored.”

she’d shake her head.

WHY TF ARE THEY CANCELING THE SHOWWWW

Because Freeform’s too dang stupid to know not to bite the hand that feeds it, that’s why!

These articles (X X) are giving me ulcers. I can’t believe this is happening. I just can’t. They’re cancelling my show. We won’t get Season 4.

They’re stopping Season 3B at City of Heavenly Fire, and not adapting the other books. So does this mean no Malec adopting their sons? No Malec proposal? No Malec wedding? Are y’all serious right now?

They had the nerve to push back the airing of Season 3B --  Todd & co. had originally said that it would air this August, but that tweet was deleted hella fast, and now they’re saying 3B won’t air till Spring 2019! JESUS! O_O First that long hiatus waiting for 3A, and now this!? Waiting a whole year for a show that’s gonna be cancelled right after 3B finally airs!? WTF!?

So, what am I supposed to do -- sit here and stew in my depression!?

This is hell.

This is LITERAL HELL, people.

I’m so mad at Freeform & Netflix, I don’t even have the words. It’s corporate shenanigans and power plays, plain and simple. Netflix didn’t get what they wanted, Freeform couldn’t see a good deal staring them right in the frikkin face, so the whole thing blew up with the show being cancelled over sheer pettiness and greed.

We had SO MUCH MORE to look forward to! And now they’re gonna squeeze everything into 3B and call it done!? Cassandra Clare is still writing! We got 2 new big bads in the Shadow World to look forward to, with Malcolm Fade and the Unseelie King! That was gonna be AWESOME! And Cassie’s releasing an entire book about Malec!  THE MATERIAL~~~! U_U

Why can’t Freeform just fork over the licensing rights and give the show over to a company that actually wants to work with it?!

Freeform didn’t promote Shadowhunters at all. I can't tell y'all how many ads I’ve passed by every day while riding the train to for their new show Cloak & Dagger -- I kept mistaking the white-haired girl in the photos for Danaerys Targaryen (which I know they’re doing on purpose, effing click bait). I saw a few for Siren, too. But in all these years though I have NOT ONCE seen a single ad for Shadowhunters while walking around in NYC. NOT ONE.

Apparently Netflix & some other networks I think were advertising the show internationally (where the bulk of the fanbase is located), and kudos to them or whatever, but at this point, I don’t even want Netflix to pick up Shadowhunters; they’re the petty arsewipes who pulled the funding in the first place! I’d prefer some other network like Hulu, The CW, or MTV get it, tbh.

People were speculating that maybe HBO or SyFy could take it, but I don’t really think either of those are viable options. I mean...lbr SyFy’s not exactly known for making that many very good original shows.... >_>

Shadowhunters started off real crunchy in Season 1 (everything from the CG to the directing/writing to the acting was very amateur), and idek if SyFy could keep up the upward momentum and higher quality that Season 2 and especially S03A delivered. And on that same note, I doubt HBO would want it, not when they’ve got powerhouses like Game of Thrones over there doing The Most and making that bookoo money.

But at this point, I don’t even care. Networks save the shows they want to save. Even if a zillion fans scream and shout bloody murder, if the showrunners & co don’t get those coins rolling in, the show will be dropped like a hot potato. Gold. Just thrown down the drain. They don’t care about anyone but themselves.

Burke said the network is at peace with the decision ... “They delivered what the fans wanted...I remember being at Comic-Con and seeing the excitement for the show and thinking, ‘This could be our Supernatural,'” referring to the genre staple that the CW just renewed for its 14th season.

Yeah, YOU THOUGHT. Supernatural’s on it’s 666th frikkin season, meanwhile Freeform couldn't find its own arse with both hands in broad daylight to do anything to keep promoting the show and get the funds and support to renew it for Season 4!

This all just blows my mind though. Shadowhunters is THE most popular (and frankly, only RELEVANT) show on Freeform. It’s been carrying the network this whole time! How do they not have the money!? Malec literally singlehandedly won them a dang GLAAD award!

And you know what KILLS ME is that not only are they taking away the show, but they’re depriving me of one of my all-time favorite fictional characters EVER.

My beautiful, freewheeling bisexual Asian High Warlock of Brooklyn. That flawless bish, that sexy beast, that campy queen, that quite magical wonderful beautiful waking dream of a man.

Harry’s portrayal of Magnus is  just dripping in charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent; I can’t. And to be BRUTALLY honest, Magnus is the only reason I kept watching the show. Harry Shum Jr was holding it down in Season 1 -- if it wasn't for him acting the roof off in every single scene, I wouldn’t have kept watching at all. Season 1 wasn’t that good, and that’s the T.

I didn’t like most of the other characters. I hated every single Shadowhunter -- including Alec (Izzy was hot though), and if Valentine wasn’t a racist bigot I’d be on his side and be like: just kill all these Shadowhunters, girl, bye~~!

So it just shocks me to my core that Freeform would make a move like this. Malec carried that whole show. No one cares about Clace. Climon was anathema. Sia’s cute and all, but lbr everyone’s sitting on pins & needles just waiting for Sizzy to rise. Only reason I even heard of this show was because a bunch of the fanfic authors & fan-artists I’m subscribed to at AO3 started writing Malec fics, which I was skipping over at first, but then the fandom blogs I follow here on Tumblr kept reblogging The Wedding scene, and I was like WTF IS THIS.

The most iconic episode of Shadowhunters was literally titled MALEC! XD Freeform, you had GOLD! DIAMONDS. Recognition. Representation. Stupid.

This whole cancellation controversy smells like network stunts and shows. They’re doing this on purpose. And during PRIDE MONTH, no less. WOW. How skeevy can y'all get?

I’m thoroughly disgusted.

So, yeah. That’s the state of things right now. I'M VENTING.

I’m just very upset, because Malec is one of my top favorite ships. But regardless of whether the show is killed off for good or not, I’m gonna keep posting my TS3 Malec Gameplays, the same way I do for my Nagron Gameplays (Spartacus ended in like 2013, and I’m still here, so.... :P ).

I’m just apologizing in advance to all my followers both here and at my Personal blog and Wishes blog -- I’m gonna be reblogging a lot of posts, to do my part in keeping #SaveShadowhunters trending as much as I can during this year effing long hiatus.
