The way the creatures in the Oneshef arg vids work kinda remind me of scams, viruses, hackers, etc

Thinking about how hungry seems to prey on curiosity (like the mellissa virus and offiz) or get into peoples head (like good old fashioned manipulation)

Or how they'll hide behind something else (something about the actual Casey narrowly avoiding Kevin thx to the admin playing a prank reminds me of BonziBuddy but idk how or why. It just does)

And the one that started this line of thought... Souler. The way it keeps repeating "fear me" yet all it takes is a ddos attack to stop it. Not so scary when such a mundane (yet powerful) solution is all it takes to a stop a creature that can eat souls. No wonder it wanted Kevin to fear it so bad.

A lot of scams rely on scaring you. Because being scared stops you from using your brain. And makes you think your more powerless than you really are.

And I find that neat.

iiiiii. really really REALLY hate it when people call all malware viruses. there are three main types of malware (viruses included! however they are a Type of malware not malware Itself)

note i’m not checking my sources and could be incorrect on this. i would do research yourself if you’re interested in this stuff. and then tell me what i did wrong and teach me stuff you learned

1. trojans:

trojans are programs that typically pose as other, friendlier programs until you open them up, where they activate a malicious script. (or posing as a wooden horse and then invading your computer when you don’t expect it.) think of like, “can someone playtest my game” discord scams. the program doesn’t actually do anything when initially downloaded, but once you open it up. Have fun.

from what i know most common trojans today are pretty boring. there’s keyloggers—recording each key you type in—password stealers, things that gain access to your webcam, etc etc. nothing really fun about that. i *believe* offiz (you are an idiot) is a trojan? pretty old but thankfully not boring. (for anyone unfamiliar with offiz, it would have a flashing gif that had “you are an idiot” with three smiley faces. audio would play saying “you are an idiot!” with laughter. if you tried to close the window it would spawn six smaller popups. process repeated if you closed those)

2. worms:

worms are malware that self-replicates by *sending itself to other machines*. i’m not aware of any recent examples (i don’t sign up for stuff much and barely check my email. oops. also i’m not into recent malware) a good older example of this is melissa, a non-malicious worm that sent itself to the first fifty people in the recipient’s contact list. that’s it. that’s all it did. however, multiply fifty by fifty by fifty some number of times, and you’re getting servers shut down.

3. viruses

here’s where we get to *actual* viruses. viruses are malware that self replicate *within* the machine. again, i’m not super into boring recent malware, but an older—and perhaps somewhat well-known(?)—example is the iloveyou (i love you for screenreaders) virus. iloveyou was also a worm, and would probably constitute a trojan. it would spread through email, and, once open, activate a visual basic script that would replace documents, images, and videos on the computer with copies of itself. for whatever reason, it hid audio files instead of replacing them.

anyways, i’m going to bite the next person who refers to malware that doesn’t reproduce on the local machine as a virus. it’s not. that doesn’t make any sense. viruses are called viruses based off of biological viruses that reproduce inside of a host cell. we know why trojans are called trojans (trojan horse) why do we not know why a virus is called a virus. do we need to take another bio class. is that it.

WHAT IS VIGISECTIA WHAT IS THAT LIKE. WHAT . TELL ME MOREEEEEEEEEEEES PLEAAAAAASEEEEEE ‼‼‼

Actually, I am VERY glad you asked, as this gives me an oppurtunity to show off some. IMPORTANT !!! LORE!!! That i have not yet been able to touch on. The existence of other multiverses/universes outside the sillyverse!!

Vivisectia is the multiverse created by Noir. Id put a picture here for the people who don’t know him yet but uhhh i dont have a completed one. oops.

To Be Clear! I’ve been mainly focusing on the sillyverse (and a bit of Everything), Vivisectia is definitely the Least Developed universe/multiverse. But as characters for it are developed more I’ll be sure to tell you all about it!

It was a place that started off hopeful, Empty As Hell, but hopeful. It was similar to the sillyverse void at first, but it didnt even have the gray rocks it was literally Pure Nothingness. As time crawled forward, there were cities created, with thousands upon thousands of people, it looked pretty similar to Earth, Just with like some really weird creatures and unexplained entities. Soon, more worlds were developed, and Vivisectia blossomed into a full-on universe!. but Anyway things went down hill FAST. Noir began to gain this sort of Fascination with making his creations Suffer. He grew Tired, bored of making governments and peace and sunshine and rainbows. Characters he loved were torn apart and put back together, with some of the most over the top horrifying backstories you could imagine, there were tons of evil labratories and deadly plagues and famine and Basically Everything Bad You Could Ever Imagine.

I forgot if i mentioned this, but the Puppetmaster and Noir were close partners, even before Vivisectia was made. They both often helped eachother by sharing ideas and whatnot, which you’ll eventually be aboe to see once I’m done with some of the Vivisectian Designs. Also, the Sector-A vessels (along with Leafy) were made specifically to fit into Vivisectia, so the Puppetmaster could experience Noir’s worlds and spend time with his creations. The PM was particularly fond of two characters, Juno and Expy, who they often would snatch away from Vivisectia and take to a safe haven in the Sillyverse, before Noir would notice they were gone and they’d have to put the two back home. Noir also grew attached to a select few vessels, which is part of the reason the sector A vessels were put back in containment for so long. Not to protect them, but rather just because the PM couldn’t stand to look at them anymore. Brung back some bad memories.

But as time passed, they both grew.. well, distant. Noir often lied or hid things about Vivisectia, not wanting his friend to think less of him, all the while he got more and more extreme, putting all his morals aside for the sake of trying to freak the hell out of the Watchers and for the sake of his own sadistic joy. But Noir couldn’t hide what he was doing forever, and the Puppetmaster found out about the Many skeletons in his closet.. The two had a big arguement, in the Sillyverse which ended in Noir being cast out into the Abyss, never to be freed (a creator has much less power when not in their own universe, so he couldn’t just teleport out or anything).

At this point, the Sector-C gang had already been created, including Offiz, who’s basically a bioweapon MADE to fuck up another universe, that being Everything. So the PM ordered them to go into Vivisectia and basically take over everything. The most cruel entities there were killed, and peace was established for a while, until the universe started to collapse. A universe can’t really exist that well without its creator. And uhhhh yeah thats all i got so far
