why did you buy an i9 7900? from what i heard they run disgustingly hot thanks to terrible thermal interface material under the lid , and for the same money you can get a 16core 32thread 1950X from AMD if you really want them cores wich only is like 5% slower in single core , it even manages to run cooler , wich i find hilarious given the fact that its an AMD chip wich kinda had the "hot and slow" reputation

I answered this a bit here but as for the temperature stuff: It runs totally fine for me even under sustained stressful concurrent workloads (video editing, 3d rendering/simulation,etc). I use an AIO cooler and haven't ran into a lot of the memes out there involving its temperature at the sustained loads(like 11 hours of rendering or simulation and such) that I put it through. I did my research before buying and found that a lot of the articles about its temperature are from people overclocking it into something stupidly high and complaining about its throttling or measuring temperature while using benchmark software that are unrealistic to practical workloads that probably use power gated instruction sets that don’t ever actually get used at such a frequency in actual software or are using only air-cooling on a 4.3 GHz 10-core workstation processorand lots of little biases like that that don’t reflect the truly typical cases I’ve been seeing for the i9 series of processors and have been experiencing for myself.

yeah, its not entirely their fault tho. i mean in the past ive been a complete shit head. at least to one of the people ik whos upset at me for being distant. the other should know why they made me uncomfortable and why i never talked to them. but
