CHAPTER ONE : THE AWAKENING ( WIP )

the sound of glass breaking echoed through the room, as the women softly cursed to herself, her crimson eyes squinting and her mouth twisted in distaste, her little owl staring at her, a small ' hoot ' left him as lucinda shook her head, as she turned to look at him. " bigglesworth don't you look at me like that " she murmured, her tone sharp as she crossed her arms, snapping her fingers rather roughly as the mess began to slowly clean itself up. bigglesworth began to flap his wings, landing on the young witches shoulder, she softly laughed as he hooted happily.

she noticed her staff that laid on the ground, it seems to be glowing and that confused her, it hadn't glown in such a long time, last time it did her grandmother said it was a way to show the world that irene would return soon ! but that's silly.

Hey, what if Nana was really scary when she wanted to be?

So yeah, I’ve been reworking how witches work in mcd, and yes I have Owl House brain rot. So based on that I’ve been giving each of our magic characters (Lucinda, KC, Hyria, and Zoey (in my headcanons)) different magical specialties. I imagine they can still do other types of magic but a specific branch comes easiest to them. Luci has illusions, Zoey has healing, Hyria has nature, and Nana…well she’s interesting.

Her powers are rare, so she never met anyone who knew what they were called. While they were friends, Lucinda named her ability animation. Her power is controlling objects, bringing them to life.

With low levels of concentration, it’s something like the Socerer’s Apprentice, animating brooms and such to clean for her. If she puts more focus into it, she can make more independent creations, like her dolls from the original series that can express basic emotions and act with autonomy. She also makes and then animates Bigglesworth as a gift for Lucinda. For visuals, I imagine her magic appears as red strings (inspired by all the red string=life/soulmate stuff) that weave around in the air. These strings guide the objects she controls, and in cases of granting permanent life, tie around the object in a bow before infusing them with her magic

But there’s a dark side to her magic, a side she rarely uses because it’s scares her. If so forced, she can animate people.

Here it takes on more puppet-on-a-string imagery, her strings wrap around the person’s wrists, ankles, and neck, and she can manipulate the strings to control the person, a bit like blood bending in the way they move and the fact that’s it’s terrifying and extremely painful. It takes so much concentration that her face goes completely blank, a sharp contrast to her usual expressiveness.

Ik mystreet completely stopped being a modern mcd au and became it's own thing by season 2, but we were so robbed of the mcd characters + lore that was never adapted. Elves? No way. Bigglesworth?? Replaced by some dumbass spider with a shit name. Curses, fantasy creatures (wyverns & etc), and magicks??? No uhh only potions and Killer Eyes Superior King Alpha Werewolf

CHAPTER ONE - " THE ACCIDENT "

the sound of glass breaking echoed through the room, lucinda staring at the mess that populated her floor, the liquid seeping from the glass as the unknown substance kept dripping slowly - the women softly cursed to herself, her crimson eyes squinting and her mouth twisted in distaste, her little owl staring at her, a small ' hoot ' left him as lucinda shook her head, this is what you get for being so disorganized the owl had said a bit bitterly into her thoughts as she turned to look at him, her hand on her hip as she glared at him.  " bigglesworth don't look or talk to me like that " she murmured, her tone sharp as she soon switched positions so she was crossed her arms, snapping her fingers as soon the mess began to clean up. bigglesworth began to flap his wings, landing on the young witches shoulder, the two seemed to bicker.

unbeknownst to her a certain h / c female was walking over to her place, taking happy steps towards her place,  jumping into the floating platforms as she stopped, humming a small tune and staring at the stairs ahead of her, making it to the top lucinda didn't notice her nor did y / n notice the puddle of glass and liquid that was slowly being picked up by a broom, sneaking over to lucinda as she smiled to herself, once she knew lucinda didn't see nor hear her, her smile grew bigger. " boo !! " she yelled as lucinda gasped, her body turning in shock hitting the female in the process and pushing her towards the material - not grabbing y / n in time she watched as the girl she was in love with hit the floor harshly the liquid going all over her and a ear piercing scream left her lips - the glass piercing her skin, in shock lucinda could only stare " no. . " she murmured, her hands trembling as she rushed over to her body.

picking her up into her arms she rushed towards the bed, shifting her body to see the damage everything had caused, watching as her back and arms were filled with blood, her skin seemed burned from the potion she had made, her eyes moved towards the mess, noticing how some had seeped through the cracks and made a small noticeable hole, she began to get to work, softly taking out the glass as she didn't want to harm the injured girl, hearing quick footsteps she paused as she saw aphmau rush in - her eyes widen as her form violently shook " what was the scream? are you okay- " she paused as she noticed the passed out female on the bed and the red stain on the floor, that was when the crimson eye female began to tear up. " it was an accident - she scared me and I caused her to fall and " she kept trying to explain but tears kept rushing down her face, soft hiccups leaving her lips - yet the lord could only stare, her eyes wide and her lips parted as she watched someone she grew a close bond with clearly in pain, yet she pushed it away to comfort lucinda, bringing her into a tight hug and softly rubbing her back as she listened to the sobs and whimpers.

she knew lucinda didn't mean it, she wouldn't purposely cause someone to get hurt - right? the woman with hazel eyes could only stare y/n with a small frown, yet it changed quickly, it could work well in her favor, make it seems as the world was only safe near her - make it the way y/n stays by her side for the rest of her life, helping raise levin and malachi! this is perfect both sides thought, unbeknownst to aphmau that lucinda was simply acting, of course she was worried for y/n and was hoping that she would forgive her, it was part of a plan she made, nobody but her knew about it and she was happy about that, yet once the two seperated they went back to their facade, lucinda went back to fixing up the mess of blood and now bruising that was on y/n's day as her skin was noticeably peeling off, she went to get bandages to wrap around her.

as the two were fixing her up they didn't know about what y/n was seeing, she was seeing flashes of who she is, hearing laughing and people having fun. " I'm sorry I have to do this " a voice said, a confused y/n looked around. " do what?! who are you? " she yelled, as the voice sighed " you'll remember soon, sadly you won't remember who you are nor how you got into your childhood show " he said, clearly glum about it, she was confused - where was she? who was she? she silently screamed when she saw the memories she had no recollection of, the people felt familiar but she didn't know who they reminded her of.

" y/n,, you are in terrible danger " the voice said, her eyes slowly opening as she felt her head hurt, the words slowly leaving her head - not knowing they were important as the pain was immense as she immediately went to grip it - yet noticed the feeling of something wrapped around her arms, she stared at it confusingly - yet she quickly shifted when she heard sounds coming towards her, looking to see two woman she didn't know, but felt as if she knew. they both ran over to her, taking her into a big hug, she was startled and wanted to fight but seems as she couldn't move.

" I'm so sorry ! it was an accident y/n " cried the female as the other simply kept quiet and softly touched her back to not cause her pain. " who's y/n? " the h/c female asked, confusion written all over her face as the two unknown women seperated from her. " haha what do you mean? " the hazel eye female asked, taking y/n's hand as she stared at the lord blankly " is - is that me? " she asked slowly, her head tilted to the side as the two stared at eachother in horror, yet a bit of happiness filled the two, both plans would work perfectly - but now they had to make sure she never knows who she is or what happened to her.

" also. . who are you two? " she asked, wanting to know why they seemed familiar and why they seemed to heartbroken that she doesn't remember them or herself. " I'll go get laurence , dante and garroth " aphmau said, as lucinda nodded, the two watched as she ran away and soon out, the female with red eyes noticing the amount of red that was already on the bandages, leaving to get more as y/n could only stare off, wondering one thing

Laurance’s favorite animal is the ladybug

Dante had turned 19 three months prior to meeting the Phoenix Drop gang in season 1

Aphmau is a horny drunk

Zane joined the priesthood in order to escape an arranged marriage that was being planned between him and the Lord of Narhaka’s daughter

He was only able to do this because Garroth gave him a warning that he had overheard Garte talking about it 6 months in advance, leaving him with enough time to play the ‘religious teenage awakening’ card to the Then High Priest. He was around 14 when that happened

Travis has several tattoos on his arms (semi inspired by that of Inuit peoples)

Lucinda is really good at playing poker. Like scary good.

She won Bigglesworth in a poker game when she was 16

Katelyn still has to make an ‘L’ with her hands in order to tell her right from her left

Janus stopped terrorizing the Tu’li country side after Zane disappeared, he pretty much only did it on Zane’s orders (Though I don’t think he actually felt bad about it or anything, more like a neutral ‘orders are orders’ thing)

He was just chillin in some random cabin in the Tu’li countryside when Ivy came along and murked him.

Laurance used to have his ears pierced when he was a teenager, however once he tried to give himself another piercing (without the assistance of Cadenza) and got an infection. After that he stopped wearing earrings and the holes healed shut

Also tried to give himself a belly button piercing once, met with similar results and a lot more screaming

Dante has a tattoo of his oath to the guard on his side midriff (I did a drawing of this a while back)

Technically the legal drinking age in most Ru’aunian villages is 17, but like, no one fucking enforces it. A twelve year old could look a barkeep in the eye and say “I’m seventeen” and barkeep will be like “You’re offering to pay double so enjoy your beverage, fully-legal-adult”

Really just depends on the morality of the bartender

Cadenza once stole an entire shipment of ale and sold it at twice the markup while the tavern owners were waiting on another shipment. Hayden was the only person who knew about it, and Cadenza dubbed it ‘a self-taught lesson of supply and demand’

Hayden immediately made her heir to the lordship of Meteli after that

Also she would occasionally purposefully cut the buttons’ off Laurance’s clothes and make him pay her to sew them back on. 

None of the Ro’Meave boys got the Birds ‘n Bees talk from anyone, though Zianna did try discreetly leaving biology books in her son’s rooms when they were reaching ‘the age’

Zane was the only one who ever read it, to which he immediately discovered he was asexual

Vylad had actually learned about sex a few years prior by picking a book off the higher shelves of Zianna’s personal library (Though it did take another few months of combing the romance section for him to figure out he was gay)

Zane and Vylad had a bet on how and how long it would take Garroth to find out

Garroth and Dante have both wandered off from patrol in order to pet a stray animal. Neither of them have or would ever admit it.

In Meteli, there’s a statue of Irene sitting with her hands out peacefully. Whenever Laurence gets black-out drunk, he usually wakes up curled in the statue’s lap

Katelyn always sleeps with one of her gauntlets on

John (Visher’s son) used to get in trouble for swimming in the canals in Bright Port

Aphmau’s favorite flower is Juniper

Garroth keeps a small necklace with a charm of the sigil of Esmund. 

It’s a fairly common for guards to own something with the sigil on it (usually its some kind of jewelry, but some keep it in other ways like having it sewn into capes, carved into armor or sword, or even tattooed)

Similarly, Laurance has a locket with the sigil carved in the back that Cadenza gave him when he was officially initiated.

He used to have an earring for it but he gave it to Cadenza after ‘the incident’

Garroth has a very low spice tolerance, but he would never turn down a meal someone served to him. He would eat the whole thing without making a single noise while his face would be as red as a tomato and tongue in utter agony

Travis’s favorite animal are seals

His favorite food is grilled squid, which he was also able to turn Aphmau on to

I feel like at one point Laurence and Garroth did mental gymnastics trying to figure out when Aphmaus birthday was, and it just ended with Aphmau asking Vylad when he put her in the world

Aphmau, her birthday is celebrated as the day she was brought into the world by Vylad, and whilst people all over Ru’aun celebrate it as a holiday, as she is Irene, she typically only has a small celebration with her friends. She herself things it’s useless, seeing as she doesn’t age, but the rest of them want to celebrate how long she’s been around for. So she goes along with it all anyways.

Garroth, his birthday was celebrated every year in O’khasis since his birth, even after he ran away, so he tried to keep it very hush hush in Phoenix Drop so he wouldn’t have to go through that again. Only Zenix really knew. And then Katelyn, as someone who grew up in O’khasis, pointed it out and every year they try to do something small for him, so it’s nothing too much like home, but it’s something.

Laurence, he doesn’t like to have typical celebrations for his birthday. He likes to just grab a bottle of ale and some food to stuff his mouth with, and just get wasted. And then he obviously ends up parading around villages and forests drunk, and wakes up covered in bruises. He used to only do this with Cadenza, but since moving to Phoenix drop, the rest of the main cast have joined in. Aphmau supervises as best as she can, though she has a bit of a habit of given their very drunk selves some very sharp objects.

Aaron, he doesn’t celebrate his birthday. However he told Aphmau when it was, and for his birthday she sits with him all night and they just watch fireflies for a bit. Nothing too big, but that’s exactly how he likes it. Aphmau kept the firefly watching birthday tradition after his death, It just felt like the right thing to do.

Travis, he never knew his birthday, so he tells everyone something different and so he just gets surprised with gifts on random days of the year. Everyone figured out what he did eventually and decided to swap Around the days they were all told each year to confuse him. It worked.

Katelyn, not a big birthday person, but Aphmau, Travis and Nicole insisted on celebrating, so they had a small little thing with the cast and the guards and they just did whatever Katelyn wanted to do. Which was usually just training and having some fun in a tavern.

Lucinda, she doesn’t celebrate her own birthday, only Bigglesworth. And the two of them judge the presents given to him together, and whoever gives the best gets a free potion of their choice, the one with the worst (or those that don’t give any at all) are given the silent treatment for a week. Because Bigglesworth deserves the best.

Dante, his birthday is celebrated with his family during the day. Nana makes a nice cake, Dmitri and NT insist on cutting it and demolish it, all four of them eat happily anyway. And then at night he celebrates with the other guards in the taverns and gets absolutely sloshed.

Zane, his birthday is also celebrated in O’khasis each year, but he doesn’t really celebrate it himself. He just treats it like every other day.

Vylad, he celebrates both his birthday and his death day, but he celebrates them on the summer and winter solstices instead of the actual days they happened, because when they happened they were on the winter and summer solstices but obviously they aren’t the same day every year. He tends to spend them picking on Zenix and trying not to be murdered for picking on Zenix. He also treats himself to some light spying on his mother to see how she is.

6 years ago, a mcyt popped up onto my recommended on youtube.

i clicked a video, “New World | Minecraft Diaries [S1: Ep. 1] Roleplay Adventure!”

and from then on, my life changed. i know it sounds stupid, but minecraft diaries and aphmau in general changed me.

i know i yell at aphmau a lot, lest it be for plot holes, unexplored characters, awful character development, or even just taking out laurance, she was and always will be my favorite youtuber.

so in this moment, I just wanted to say, thank you so much Jess, for everything you made me into today.

it’s hard to believe it’s been six years since i first clicked on an aphmau video and i’m glad i never once abandoned it.

that story will forever be one of my favorites,

awful writing and all.

Yes. I do. Not very detailed ones, but. Y’know.

Also, bear in mind that these are mostly rewrite things than HC things because… ✌️

And this is kind of a sloppy post because I’m ill and my brain refuses to work when my health isn’t 100%

She’s dark-skinned. Which is a pretty popular HC, I found out. And she’s native, because her mum is in my rewrite and her dad is irrelevant.

She also has really curly hair (4b ish, still ginger) and usually has it in braids or butterfly locks.

MCD: she’s one of the oldest of the main cast, being about 40-odd (not that she looks it) whilst the rest are 20s-30s (aphmau excluded from that because… she old). Mystreet: she’s the youngest. She’s about six months younger than Travis.

She, like Travis and Sasha, have eyes that aren’t quite right. Her eyes have the opposite effect than Sasha’s do in my rewrite, and are oddly nice to look at. They also somewhat look like owl eyes, though sometimes they more closely resemble other animals. Just witchy things.

More about her eyes: her pupils are red too. But that’s because her eyes are ‘red’ because of lack of pigmentation in them. It’s a genetic trait from her dad’s side and it means her eyes are more sensitive to light.

Closet lesbian. But the closet is glass.

She wears beads, gems, and jewellery in her hair like Zoey does because certain natural materials can amplify magic. And it looks pretty.

She’s the ‘mum friend’ of the main cast. She heals them, helps them out and gives advice from time to time. She really cares about them all.

She’s average height…. But somehow manages to be one of the shortest in the main cast. That said, the main cast includes Travis (HC 7’0/6’10), Aaron (HC 6’8), Laurence (HC 6’3), Katelyn (HC 6’4), Garroth (HC 6’1) and Dante (HC 5’11). She will, however, never be shortest, thanks to Aphmau (Canon 4’10)

She hates the ‘taste’ of water, and like.. doesn’t drink it. Ever. It’s gross. (A me thing I’m projecting onto her. Because water is ew)

She fluently speaks old and new Ru’aun, Gal’Run and Tu’lan. Because she’s educated. She only ever really speaks new Ru’aun and Tu’lan is strictly confined to bitching with Aaron and Nana.

Easily out magicks aphmau. Experience over power and whatnot. However, with training, Aphmau could probably beat her. Probably. Luci is the strongest witch in Ru’aun so it would have to be A LOT of training.

Hailey means the world to Luci and if anyone lays a finger on her they’re dead.

She has the fattest crush on Melissa Lycan. Which is basically canon. But like. ✌️

Her and Aaron are actually pretty close in my mystreet rewrite.. They were both sort of quiet at the start and bonded over it. Plus, she’s pretty good at helping him feel safe in scary situations.

Mcd however, the two of them do get along, but in more of a ‘we know everything about everyone and they know nothing about us’ sort of way. She teases him for being ‘like a guard dog’ to Aphmau, and he says that she’s no better with Hailey.

She really likes Wyverns. She has always wanted to have one.

She names things really silly names. Like ‘sir bigglesworth’. That said, silly names are the best names and everything she’s ever owned has been named fabulously.

She often loses things, so she gets either Uwu or Bigglesworth to look for them for her, because they’re smaller and have better eyesight than she does.

She often makes jokes about her, Kim and Aaron being part of the ‘bad eyesight club’ due to her eye’s sensitivity to light, Kim’s glasses and Aaron being blind.

Potions and Cadenza are her only two sources of clothing, since her only other option is buying clothes that are too big for her because, well, her boobs are kinda huge. And that would be fine but bigger clothing sizes, depending on where they’re bought from, can be more expensive, and she isn’t exactly rich.

What would each character name their horse?

Aphmau, she would name it fish. But only because when she asked what sort of names horses have, Dante told her ‘name it anything, but nothing stupid, like don’t name it fish because it’s not a fish, it’s a horse, you know’

Garroth, something borderline ridiculous whilst also very serious. Like sir/lady [very serious and fancy name]

Laurence, he’d name it after whatever pretty person he was hitting on when he got it.

Aaron, he wouldn’t name it, just refer to it as buddy. Because he’s got an oddly great relationship with horses.

Travis, he would name it Micheal because he thinks his dad sort of looked like a horse, and he will insult him at every opportunity.

Katelyn, she’d name it after one of her brothers. Because she likes to have reminders of them.

Lucinda, the only horse she would ever have, is a shapeshifted Bigglesworth. She doesn’t trust anyone else with that. Maybe a shapeshifted UwU if I decide to give her it as a familiar in MCD aswell. However if it were UwU, it would just be a huge spider, not a horse. So I don’t know if it counts.

Dante, he’d name it after Gene, for similar reasons to why Travis would name his horse Micheal.

Zane, he doesn’t bother with naming horses, they’re there to take him places, not for him to form a personal connection with.

Vylad, ‘Not Zenix’. Because horses are tall. And Y’know who else is tall? Not Zenix.
