Well, hello there lads. Yer saviour arrived. Due to lack of Oliver in this week’s chapter and the fans deeply demanding Oliver kidnapping us, here comes this fanfiction.

Summary:

While saving Ginny, James is willing to sacrifice his freedom just to get her to safety. And when he ends up kidnapped and enslaved on enemy’s ship, a familiar man comes to interrogate him...

When awoke, James was hit with unbearable headache, which came along with unpleasant memories from just hours ago...

He couldn’t let Ginny die.

That is why he decided to jump into the water after her, even though he knew he could not make it back.

Cold water hit him almost as hard as his body hit it’s surface, when he swam as fast as he could, locking eyes with the drowning girl. A great wave sweept him underneath, but he kept on going, the only thought crossing his mind was that he had to save her. And he did. But at cost of his own freedom.

His cheek was hit again, this time harder, and the hand that did so wore a big signet ring, which left a nasty, painful cut on his face. James jerked awake, at first not knowing where he is, but then realising he was caught by the navy, as he was greeted with a face of the sailor he hit yesterday while rescuing Ginny.

His face was swollen, lip cut, but he still managed to wear a mocking grin.

"I see yer finally awake, scum. Our lieutenant wants to interrogate you.

"Oliver?" His name was the only thing that crossed his mind, and at the memory of their kiss his heart filled with hope.

"Maybe he will help me..." thought James, but then, again, he remembered that Oliver was the one in command of this bunch.

"Get yerself together and behave, rat."

Saying so, the sailor took last glance at him and then left the dark room.

James scowled him, and then hid his face in his hands. He sighed.

And then someone else entered the room. When he lifted his head, James was greeted with the sight of familiar brown eyes and lightly tanned face.

"Oliver..." he whisperred, as the said man came closer.

"James Whitlock. It is a pleasure to meet you again, thus I wish it could be in less... complicated circumstances."

Saying so, Oliver slowly approached another man, but James slightly moved away.

"What do you want? I won’t tell you anything." to his surprise, the other man just kneeled beside him, and delicately wiped blood off of his split cheek.

"I apologize, William can be... tough sometimes."

"Understatement of the century" James muttered, throwing an angry glance at the lieutenant.

Silence fell between them, as Oliver stood up and straightened his coat.

"Listen, James. If it was for me, I wouldn’t be doing this. But I have to. I have a debt to pay, and if I don’t catch the Poseidon’s Revenge we’ll both be in way bigger trouble than we are now. So please, cooperate and... and I will help you escape. "

James was shocked. Will he really let him go if he tells him what he knows? But on the other hand... how could he just betray Edward like that?

He looked down at his tightly tied hands, and could see bruises already forming on his wrists.

Oliver sighed.

"I understand, you do not believe me. Here..." he kneeled beside James once again, this time gently taking his palms in his, and cutting the rope tying them with a knife. He then gently carresed the man’s hands, holding them in his.

James looked in his eyes.

"Escape with me, Oliver. Leave all this behind and come with me. We will be free, together."

His words were filled with sorrow, and as he looked at Oliver, he could see similar feeling haunting his face.

"James..."

"Please, Oliver. Don’t you want to be free? To be with me?"

Oliver leaned in and pressed their foreheads together, gently carresing James’ face with his fingers.

"For the love of God, James, I have no idea why, but yes I do, I would leave all behind just to be with you. But I can’t."

Oliver attempted to move away, but James took hold of his collar and jerked him forward, kissing him, suprisingly softly. As the kiss deepened, James moved his hands to the back of the other’s head, and untied his hair. Soon soft, long strands caressed both their faces, as they broke off of the sweet kiss.

After a moment of silence and looking in each other’s eyes, Oliver finally spoke, but it was more of a faint whisper.

"James, tonight you flee out of this ship. I will help you get away safely, and next time we reunite, we both escape. Together."

James smiled , as he nuzzled himself against Oliver’s neck.

And maybe it was the most irresponsible thing they could have done, but they fallen asleep, embraced in each others arms, James’s palm carresing Oliver’s hair from time to time.

The first character you loved:

1. Drake - dude is FINE, right from the start I wanted to go down that path. I was never, for one moment, into Liam.

2. Chris - see above. Although - his fuccboy factor definitely hurt him in the prelims. 

3. Kenna - she’s just so awesome and badass and gorgeous, and I want to be like her when I grow up. 

The character you never expected to love so much:

1. Maxwell. He annoyed the hell out of me, but something clicked near the end of Book Two and now I want him to ravish me.

2. Becca. She was a one-dimensional “mean girl” when the series began, but I absolutely love her character arc. She’s really grown, more so than I think any other tf/ts/tj character. 

3. Diavolos. He was just another Nevrakis before, but I actually just replayed the books to marry him! ( I just realized how pathetic I sound...)

The character you relate to most:

1. Honestly, probably Drake. I have a tendency to be a total smart ass (read: jerk) and I do really enjoy whiskey. I don’t have any friends in the nobility, though. I do have a lot in common personality-wise with Olivia, though. 

2. As an actual college student, probably Abbie. I was artsy, and dramatic, and just a general pain in the ass at that age. Now, I’d say I’m more like Ms. Twombly, LOL

3. It’s hard, since they’re all fighting wars for their kingdom, so that’s kind of a different path than I’m on, but personality-wise, probably somewhere between Val and Annelyse, with a dash of Whitlock thrown in.  

The character you’d slap:

1. Bertrand. Like, I get the dude has responsibilities, but he’s just so dour all the time. And the sweater vest. 

2. Abbie. See above - she reminds me too much of me at that age, and I was annoying as hell. 

3. Trystan. Go away, you little snitch.

Character you liked at first but don’t like anymore:

1. Liam. He’s just kind of blah. I think it’s because I’ve never chosen him as an LI, so I don’t get all the awesome side stuff. This one is borderline, because I don’t dislike him per se, I’ve just never really gotten to know the character. 

2. James. Bland. 

3. Dom. He’s okay and all, but he’s kind of irritating in that he always does exactly what he’s not supposed to, and still ends up smelling like a rose (or dragon, whatever). 

Character you didn’t like but now do:

1. Madeleine. Obvious redemption arc, but I’m an easy sell, so...

2. Zack. He’s found his own identity, which makes him a much more functional character. Before, they used him more as a token, diversity for diversity’s sake, but now that he’s owning his own choices and motivations, I like him much more. 

3. Zenobia. Just like Diavolos, she grew on me. The fact that she is loyal to her brother means a lot, because he’s obviously the apple that fell farthest from Luther’s tree. She just seems like an okay chick.

I actually have a lot of thoughts about Annelyse and how badly she was treated. And how Val, Raydan, and Whitlock all got free PoV scenes (in addition to diamond ones) and Diavolos, Leon, and Gabriel all got diamond PoV scenes and she got neither and her screen time was so much more limited. All the men but Tevan (who was an afterthought) got an individualized diamond scene in Book 3 and neither woman did.

Oh, I COMPLETELY agree. I’ve never got around to doing an Annelyse/Kenna playthrough, but I STILL noticed she was, I guess, the writer’s least favorite or at least most neglected character. I mean, she was still really badass, but I did noticed (even if I never publicly said) that she never really got a chance to shine like the others besides helping out her citizens in B3... BUT MOST OF THAT WAS OFF-SCREEN! That would’ve been a GREAT moment for an Annelyse PoV scene. Anyways... Dom had his entire ‘I’m a dragon, rawr’ storyline and was the deuteragonist, Val got to go under cover to take down Zenobio, Raydan went under cover to take down Azura, and so on. Annelyse didn’t get anything

She didn’t even get a backstory if I remember. Where did she come from? How did she become ruler? Was she born to it or what? Maybe I wasn’t paying attention or maybe she didn’t have one and was just simply, like Kenna, someone with no tragic or special background who rose and became a badass.

Annelyse was really cool, definitely one of my favorites (Val’s still number one to me), but they didn’t do that much with her especially considering she was one of the original three LIs for Kenna in the same regards Kaitlyn, Chris, and James were for TFM!MC.

Least favorite character(s) and why: I go with Manny, from The Sophomore, he’s a totally asshole, just that.

If Dave doesn’t end up with Sam, who do you want him to get together with? No one, really. I don’t peg Dave to be someone who would actually settle for one. 3. Who is your OTP in the Choices world? MC X Chris (too obvious!) 4. What scene do you wish you had spent diamonds on but didn’t/couldn’t? A lot of scenes I wish I had diamonds to spend on, but if I had to choose, it would be Chapter 6 (or was it 7) of The Freshman Book 1. MC and Chris had a talk outside the sorority house and things get out of hand on the side of the house...that is if you got the diamonds. Blegh. 5. Which minor/supporting character in the Choices world do you want to get to know more? Either Sei or Whitlock from The Crown and The Flame. 6. How do you feel about Zig? Aside from the Diego Luna vibe, I think he’s a great addition to the story. Besides, it would be fun to see MC’s partner (Chris/Kaitlyn/James) to get jealous, a little payback, you could say, for the things happening in the previous books. 7. If Pixelberry were to release another book, what would you like it to be about (or at least in what genre)? More horror! I’m already excited for The Haunting of Braidwood Manor. 8. THe possibility of them breaking up is always there, but it’d be nice to see the long-distance relationship working out well since it doesn’t happen that often in real life. 9. Who do you ship with Kenna? Either Val or Annelyse. Don’t judge me. 10. If you had to choose getting married between Tycoon Guy and Greek Guy, who would you choose and why? (Note: Bartender is not part of the choices) Probably the Greek Guy. The Tycoon Guy seemed too odd IMO. TC was a renowned playboy who’d been with a lot of women, and suddenly he’s open to the idea of settling down with MC? GC, however, seemed like someone who simply had been waiting for a particular woman, but his only flaw was he’s not keen on sharing secrets. 11. What do you think the jobs of the The Freshman suitemates will be like 10 years from now? I already put the ideas to some of them in here, the rest will follow as bits of their information might be revealed in the books.

1) The Crown and the Flame 1&2

Fantasy books are one of my favourite genres

you dont understand how many times i replayed this book lol

i basically played every route

i have a lot of the diamond choices ;]

i spent all my diamonds so that zack could get a man  and abbie and tlyer could get together T_T

i wanted them to be happy

and i genuinely really enjoyed this story

kinda sucked how u couldnt actually turn anyone down until the last chapter

i picked james 1st if ur wondering 

3) Rules of Engagement

this is a little too high on the list lol

tbh i think the premise of this story is a little lame

like talk about a shitty grandmother???

dont u love ur grandkids

dont u wanna give them a comfortable life when ur gone and cant care of them anymore

why are u forcing them to get married/date/get tattoos (i kinda understand forcing the party twin to be more serious but the rest is kinda ridiculous)

like u dead

u cant live vicariously through them

but i dont think the story is poorly written and i do enjoy playing it

although idk whats gonna happen with the MC dating 3 guys at once

like i know the bartender dude knows

but do the rest of them?

will they be okay with it?

will it blow up in our face?

4) Most Wanted

i didn’t really enjoy this story :(

i dont ship sam and dave

Cassandra was coo though

So was the trio in the detective department??

5) The Freshman 2 

I was unhappy with this book for a million reasons

james hates liars but u basically lied to his family for him (so he already knows ur capable of doing that)

i just really didnt think he had a right to be mad at the MC =/ cause it wasnt her secret to tell

like if anything it says a lot about the MC’s loyalty

which was already proven when she LIED TO UR PARENTS FOR U

i hated how the MC was forcing kaitlyn to come out

i felt like the MC was a really shitty friend in this book

I really just didnt enjoy this book :/

i ended up not replaying to see what dating other characters would be like

The New Books

1) Haunting of Braidwood Manor

I love reading scary stories

as long as the MC isn’t deliberately trying to get herself killed lol I think I will really enjoy this book

yknow like how in scary movies the protagonist is always doing stupid shit that gon get them killed LOL

2) Endless Summer

If you can’t tell by my love of scary stores, I have a thing for stories that are like “dont know the whole truth gotta find out” (which i guess is strange cause I didnt like most wanted)

pls let him date the male MC

3) Love Hacks

I know this is kinda low on the list but I’m super excited for this story too!

As long as you don't actually have to end up with Mark I’m gucci :D

i got my eyes on Brooke LOLOLOLOLOL

but ur supposed to go on a date w/ 10 guys

so maybe someone else will come along

either way, i really liked the dynamic b/w the friends

i’m not looking forward to breaking up amy and mark though

like i dont mind if they like had an intervention and said like “hey ur relationship isnt healthy, u guys should maybe call it quits, or work on ur problems, u know fighting in front of friends isnt healthy and all”

but if its like a stupid plan that’s gonna hurt mark and amy i’m not down =/

4) Freshman Book 3

I know I said I really like Zig so far, and he could be new potential LI as I no longer like any of the other 3 (as romantic interest as least)

I guess I was just too bummed out by the 2nd book I’m not looking forward to the 3rd book anymore.

also (i have 2 files lol) in the file where im dating kaitlyn I picked the I’m not gay option and yet... the MC is still considered gay if u state that Zig is hard not to notice (she like says shes looking for someone female) and if ur not dating kaitlyn ur considered straight too which bummed me out more than the other thing

but i guess that would be hard to code

i did appreciate how i could say i’m not exclusively interested in girls though

Summary:

He knew the navy will get to them one day. And when they do, the only thing left is to fight for freedom, even if it means to fight someone the heart desires over everything else...

As soon as James saw a navy ship on the horizon, he knew they were in trouble. So when minutes later he heard Edward screaming:

"They’re trying to board! Everyone, get yer weapons ready!", he grabbed his sword and ran to join the crew on board.

He was right on time to see a big ship full of navy men get closer to Poseidon’s Revenge. James pointed his sword at the nearest navy sailor, as he slowly approached him. A couple more of unknown men stepped on the board, then got out of the way as to make a place for someone else to enter.

And then James took a glance at a familiar man, who’s long hair were tied at the back of his head, hidden beneath a black captain’s hat. His face was calm, but voice was filled with rage.

"Edward Mortemer, surrender yourself along with your crew and the navy will promise you a quick death!"

Edward came closer, pointing his sword straight at Oliver’s chest.

"And if we don’t surrender?"

Oliver threw him a scowling glance.

"Then we shall solve it in a fight."

Edward said nothing, instead threw himself straight into Oliver with a yell.

At once, every navy man attacked, and James found himself surrounded by three of the sailors. He took better hold of his sword, and then attacked one of them, quickly disarmed him and punched in the face. The following two were also greeted with James' fury and a series of kicks, but one of them managed to kick him in the chin and, as James stumbled, he heard a quick "Duck!". Next moment he heard a shot and when he finally took a glance at his opponent, he was dead on the floor with a gun wound on his forehead. James turned back and saw Charlie with a gun pointed straight at another sailor, before she pulled the trigger and jumped to the next enemy.

"Next time better watch yer back, love!" she shouted, as they fought another two men.

Blood dripped off of his chin, when James jumped over one of the sailors and ended him with a slash of his sword. Just as he was about to fight off another one, he heard Edward’s scream of pain. He doged and looked to where the captain layed on the floor, his sword a few feet away. Oliver stood tall beside him and pointed his sword to Edward’s throat.

"Oh no, does that mean we lost?" James thought, but then looked at Edward once again and could see in his eyes that he never will let the navy win. With a yell, Edward kicked Oliver and jerked up, grabbing his sword along the way. The fight started again, and even more screams filled the air along with the sound of sword hitting a sword.

James finished off a dozen more of sailors and then found himself back to back with Edward, as a couple more of their enemies circled them, cutting away form Oliver.

"Mr. Whitlock, do you mind if I borrow this for a second?" Edward asked, and, without waithing for James’ response, took his sword. Then he took a step back, and jumped over the men surrounding them. Disposing them took him only a couple of seconds, and when he found himself again by James' side, he threw him his sword with a quick "Thank ye".

In the heat of the fight James didn’t realise when he was sweept away from Edward and suddenly he found himself face to face with...

"Oliver. What a pleasure to meet you again."

James grinned, as he reflected Oliver's blade with his own.

They circled each other for a moment, and then Oliver attacked again.

His movements were smooth and fast, just as if he was born with a sword in hand.

James dodged another blow, and grinned.

"You are good with a sword."

"Why, thank you. It took years of practice. You are not so bad yourself, James."

"You flatter me, I’ve only held a sword a couple of times."

"Then you indeed are insanely skilled."

Unexpectedly, James found himself pressed against the wall, with Oliver's body close to him, their chests pressing against each other as they breathed hard. He could feel a blade held tight to his neck, and Oliver’s fingers caressed his wounded chin.

James winced in pain.

"Ah, I am sorry James. I did not intend to cause you any pain. "

Then Oliver slightly bowed his head to whisper into James' ear.

"Surrender, James, and we will both be able to escape."

"What about Edward and the crew?"

"They will be judged and later hanged for their crimes."

For a moment, a silence fell between them. Then, as James tilted his head, his lips closer to the other man's, he whispered

"Oliver..."

And then he moved, as he pinned Oliver against the wall, this time taking his sword and throwing it behind him.

"I can’t let you do this..."

Their lips met only for a quick moment, before he heard his name being screamed. He turned back just as a stray navy sailor swung a sword at him.

James kicked him, and swung his blade, ending his life. Next moment, more of them arrived, yelling in rage. And as Oliver tried to parry their blows, his blade sunk into James's side.

James yelled in pain, stumbling on the floor. When he looked down, his shirt was soaked with fresh, red blood flowing from the wound. As he tried to stop the bleeding with his hand,he saw Oliver getting shot by Edward, and then the captain got to him.

The pirate was yanking him and yelling something, but James couldnt quite understand the words. As he looked back, all he saw were navy men dropping their weapons, and Edward kicking Oliver in rage.

James gathered himself with the last of his strenght, and approached Edward, holding him back and yelling:

"Leave him, he’s hurt!”

Edward tried to jerk away, screaming back:

"So are you, James! This goddamn navy dog hurt you and i will make him pay!"

After a moment more of fighting, Edward gave up.

"I am sorry, James, I failed you" he muttered "Forgive me..."

James eyed Oliver, laying bloodied on the deck. He looked him as well, with those familiar brown eyes, this time filled with pain.

Edward gathered himself and angrily adressed Charlie:

"Throw the alive in the locker and get rid of the bodies."

She nodded in understatment.

Eyeing Oliver, he scowled.

"As for this one here, lock him away from the others. I will take care of him later.”

The captain spat on the floor, near Oliver’s body, and walked away towards his cabbin.

James took a last glance at the lieutenant, as Henry jerked him away.
