Thought # 1
Finished the Original Sources of the Quran. Disappointing read the author was bigotted to everyone but his own christian beliefs and was not academically honest to even acknowledge the debt owed by his faith to older faith traditions whilst accusing muslims of doing this (as if the Israiliyyat tradition he kept citing wasn't a thing)
Thought # 2
Read the Arabic Infancy Gospel. Hilarious how western academics take it for granted that this text was written before the Quran, was prevalent in the largely illiterate population of the hejaz and influenced the Quranic position on Jesus Christ eventhough the only 2 manuscripts we have are from 1299 and the 1500s in Iraq which makes it far far far more plausible that the text was influenced by the Quran. Obviously academia doesn't care.
Thought # 3
Ascetics are selfish irresponsible men who don the garb of saints. What they deem selfless sacrifice is merely a selfish devotion to self glorification. Thought of this while reading a Hagiography of Baba Farid al Din Ganj i Shakar where he scolds his wife for telling him that their son was dying from hunger and interrupted his penance. Reminded me of how irresponsible narcissistic parents paint themselves as martyrs to kids who never asked to be born
Had an uneventful day otherwise. Two of my friends follow each other on here now so waiting to see how that turns out.
Planning on completing my notes for CNS drugs today and adding books to my kindle. Might make a reading list consisting of books my ancestors might have read at various points in history.

📚Books I used for first year of MBBS :📚
1. Anatomy - Gross
B D Chaurasia
Vishram singh
Gray’s
2. Anatomy - Histology
Inderbir Singh
Mostly college journal
3. Anatomy - Neuroanatomy
Vishram Singh
4. Anatomy - Embryology
Vishram Singh
5. Physiology
G K Pal
Indu Khurana
Guyton and Hall
6. Biochemistry
Satyanarayan
Vasudevan
My opinions :
I felt B D Chaurasia was bit overwhelming at times. The book has not been edited in a way that benefits student while learning. Certain chapters like end of Dural venous sinuses chapter had so much of information. It was paragraphs on paragraphs , making it difficult to even sieve through the information ( if you just wish to revise)
While Vishram Singh for gross is very student oriented. B D Chaurasia at times tended to give priority to flow of teaching. Vishram Singh on other hand wrote in such a way that all the information for a particular question was all together in a single place. It also included way more mnemonics and easier diagrams. The book was so good it made me buy the same authors book for different subjects.
Gray’s was something I referred only for abdomen part as at that time I had less of work load. It does not have much information learning wise but more analytical wise - as in there are more cases discussion followed by short snippet on the topic. I only read when I had time that also after reading through the above two.
I do not recommend using Langman embryology for first year - it ends up focusing too much on genetic details for systemic embryology and less on explaining part. I regretted buying it.
I tbh wish to read through the other less popular recommends for Indian mbbs students - just like normal reading.
Biochemistry - I preferred Satyanarayan for all metabolism except carbohydrates, and also for vitamins and minerals. Vasudevan was used for rest of learning. However, it has a lot of information. So if you don’t love the subject (even if you just like it) stick to Satyanarayan.
Physiology - our college preferred G K Pal- it has a lot of information some chapters it is required others not so much ; however the information is bulleted and highlighted so it does not feel overwhelming; diagrams are easy to draw. Indu Khurana has an easier flow of topics. Guyton was something that is recommended to read for all chapters but I didn’t get the time.
(I’m referring here only the authors name not the books entire name.)

Achieve Your Medical Dreams with DoctorBano
Choosing to become a doctor is a noble and life-changing decision. For many Indian students, the journey toward this dream begins with pursuing MBBS abroad. Studying abroad offers a range of opportunities, providing quality education at affordable costs and access to internationally recognized degrees. If you’re considering MBBS in Russia, Kazakhstan, or Bangladesh, DoctorBano is your trusted partner in this journey. As an expert abroad education consultant, we offer complete support for students aspiring to pursue their medical education overseas.
Why Pursue MBBS Abroad?
The option to study MBBS abroad is gaining popularity among Indian students due to multiple factors:
High Competition in India: The number of medical seats in India is limited, making it highly competitive for students to secure a spot in a government college. This drives many students to explore opportunities for MBBS abroad where they can receive a high-quality education without the intense competition.
Affordable Education: Countries like Russia, Kazakhstan, and Bangladesh offer medical education at a fraction of the cost compared to private medical colleges in India. By choosing to pursue MBBS abroad, students can reduce the financial burden associated with medical studies while receiving a degree that holds international recognition.
Globally Recognized Degrees: The medical degrees from universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Bangladesh are recognized globally, including by organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Medical Council of India (MCI). This global recognition allows graduates of MBBS abroad programs to practice medicine in multiple countries, including India, after clearing relevant exams.
Modern Infrastructure and Clinical Training: Medical universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Bangladesh offer state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern medical facilities. These universities provide hands-on training, allowing students to gain practical experience and develop their skills. By choosing to study MBBS abroad, students have access to world-class laboratories and clinical environments that prepare them for a successful career in medicine.

Exploring MBBS in Kazakhstan
MBBS in Kazakhstan is another popular option for Indian students. Medical universities in Kazakhstan offer degrees recognized by international health organizations, and the medium of instruction is often English, making it accessible for Indian students. The cost of education in Kazakhstan is significantly lower than in private medical colleges in India, making it a practical option for those looking to study MBBS abroad on a budget.

With modern facilities, a structured curriculum, and a focus on clinical training, students studying MBBS in Kazakhstan receive an education that prepares them for the global medical field.
Benefits of MBBS in Bangladesh

When I was a kid I wanted to be a scientist, Doctor seems close enough. Feeling like I am so close to getting all I ever wanted. God willing He will show me mercy.
Finished a Hagiography of Baba Farid al Din Ganj i Shakar and found out that a British historian asserted that Baba Farid was a head or founder of the Thaggs which is curious considering how the jatt marauders he preached to would come to morph into the sikh faith and incorporate his writings into their scripture.
Started reading the Alexander Romance and absolutely loving it. Alexander in this is so quick to murder people he doesn't like and the narrative is beautiful.
I was supposed to pick my girlfriend and her sister for a study session in the park but her sister cancelled so we just chilled at my place and then at her university. Bought gifts for my niece's birthday tomorrow.
Completed notes for pharmacology.
Had a chat about how hectic the routine that Prophet Muhammad followed was and how instead of shying away at the idea of him having 13 wives maybe consider the fact that he managed to keep all of them happy when most men can't even keep themselves from destroying one. Also about how he once killed a man after having regained consciousness following a sword strike to his helmet. Truly anyone who knows him has to accept him as a prophet of the One True God.

The 3rd year MBBS curriculum includes Community Medicine (PSM), Forensic Medicine and toxicology, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), and Ophthalmology subjects. Many books are available for these subjects, but not all of them prove suitable for you. You should choose books that are easy to understand and have a lot of useful diagrams, charts, tables, etc. These books should also follow the latest CBME pattern. Here are some recommended books for 3rd-year MBBS students.
Community Medicine (PSM)
