Joe Mazzulla Celtics Arent Defending a Title But Attacking A New Goal
Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla knows he’s got some different thoughts than a lot of other NBA coaches. One of them is the concept of defending a title. On the Locked On Celtics podcast, Mazzulla said he thinks of it differently. “The phrase ‘defending a title’ is a very passive-aggressive term. If you look at the animal kingdom, some of the strongest animals don’t defend; they’re the most…

The Journey to Glory: The Unbelievable Story of the 2024 Boston Celtics’ NBA Championship Triumph
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🏀🏆Surreal. That’s the best way I can describe this incredible journey to becoming NBA champions. From watching that final clock wind down to 0.0 and seeing confetti rain down, it feels like a dream turned reality.
First and foremost, huge congratulations to our superstar Jayson Tatum. The pressure was on, and he delivered. He’s stamped forever as a Celtic legend, and rightfully so. From his first NBA dribble to this championship moment, we’ve witnessed growth and dominance. Despite the hate and doubts he’s faced, he proved them all wrong. Jayson Tatum is the guy, a true superstar, and a #1 on a title-winning team.
We have to equally celebrate Jaylen Brown. From the beginning, we’ve seen his journey, and now he stands as an NBA champion and Finals MVP. Jaylen embodies what it means to be a Celtic with his hard work, determination, and leadership. He represents everything we love about the Celtics franchise.
This title run has been incredible for our 2024 Boston Celtics. From wire to wire dominance, demolishing records, and showcasing an unparalleled defense, we proved ourselves as one of the greatest teams in NBA history. It’s a testament to our hard work and the coaching brilliance of Joe Cronin.
Al Horford, the man who changed everything when he joined in 2016, finally has the ring he deserves. We couldn’t have achieved this without him. Thank you Al!
I must mention Sam Hauser, whose shot-making and defensive contributions were invaluable. He proved his worth in the biggest game of the season. And let’s not forget Jrue Holiday, the kingmaker who came in and elevated our game to new heights. He deserves all the praise for his impact on both ends of the court.
Derrick White, our smiling warrior, showed his worth once again with impeccable performance. He symbolizes what it means to respect the game and always give your all.
To hold the Mavericks under 100 points in 4 of the 5 Finals games proves the dominance and importance of our defense. The Basketball Gods were watching, rewarding our team’s effort and commitment.
As we celebrate this championship, let’s remember how incredible it is to be a part of this moment. It’s a relief knowing we’re not the team that blew a 3-0 series lead, but rather one of the greatest teams in NBA history. We’re just getting started in the Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown Era, and it feels amazing to say that. 🏀🏆

??? yo what
ok, this is kinda crazy. complaining about being double-teamed? especially on a night where your team shooted like 63% from three point??
when you're the #1 option, teams are gonna test if you can beat them with the pass. this is not a new concept. you average 25+, hell yeah you getting doubled. learn to handle it!
i'm not gonna kill him for being bad at handling doubles. he's only 23, he will learn. i distinctly remember jt being horrible at playmaking at that age (cough 22 finals cough) but like. you can really tell ant's only 23 when he says shit like this.
