#RWBYAC Day 11: RWBY OC I've got well over 30 RWBY OCs, but I usually only feel comfortable sharing them with close friends. A lot of them are Beacon professors since I'm cringey like that. 🙃 Maybe this year, I'll have more courage to share them with the world, as well as the time to draw them. Last year, I posted Mazarine Wedgewood, and people seemed to like her, much to my surprise. I wanted to post more of her, but I didn't have much time. Anyway, a year later, she's back! If you'd like a more extensive backstory, try the #mazarinewedgewood tag. There's only one other post in it, and it's mine. 😂 A brief summary: A Beacon graduate herself, Mazarine, or "Maz," which she infinitely prefers, is Beacon's flying instructor. She was hired after the school was rebuilt to replace the former instructor, who was killed in action defending Vale. She was previously a Senior Airman in Vale's military, but gladly resigned her commission. The military seemed like the best place to use her piloting skills, but it was a terrible environment for her as an open lesbian with an anxiety disorder. Her fellow airmen had more bigoted mindsets than the huntsmen she'd studied with (this is where folks like Team CRDL who can't cut it as huntsmen usually end up, sadly). Maz is much happier at Beacon. She is 25 years old (around the same age as Adam and Winter) and enjoys show tunes and old war movies. In these sketches, I wanted to show Maz's personality as well as some of her formal and casual clothing. We've seen that faculty is welcome at Beacon dances, but I can't imagine her in a ballgown. She's far more comfortable in a suit or tux, but would rather not pose for your stupid, awkward photos, thanks. 😤 For casual wear, she likes old t-shirts, jeans, and flannel.
