Chicago Great Western #192 is close to the end of its run as it rolls through Maywood Illinois on a hot summer day in 1968. The headlight of the Chicago Local following closely behind can be seen in the corner of the frame under the IHB bridge.

Cafe Amici / Amici's Restaurant - West Pleasant Ave in Maywood, NJ

My past experiences at pizzerias in Maywood have been pretty middling, so I was excited to try a new one with Cafe Amici. My in-laws got a plain pie and offered me a slice so you know I couldn't say no! The crust was SUPER thin...almost too thin if you ask me. And honestly the cheese was a little too thin too. Otherwise though, a solid slice of pizza. Not really exceptional but by no means bad. Probably the best plain slice I've had in Maywood so far. Might be worth a scope if you're sick of Mario's and Angelo's.

My original thought behind this project was to spend enough time in each city to really get a sense of it. At least, to spend 10 or 15 minutes walking around downtown. The plethora of different cities that are all basically neighborhoods in LA puts this goal to the test, and really, I'm not hewing to the ideal at all. It all looks the same. It almost certainly _isn't_ the same, but to truly see the differences between say, South Gate and Lynwood, would take more time than I will ever have.

Anyway, this is Maywood. The murals are in a park. The park also has some cool outdoor handball courts, but I couldn't take a picture because there were people playing and I didn't want to be a creep.
