No I mean sad because they aren't married and have no potential husband there.

Ponder the case of Musa عليه سلام as mentioned by Allah in Suratul Qasas( specifically ayaat 15-28).

Whenever I feel down about the issue of marriage I love to look back at this story. The reason being that Musa was in a much more dire circumstance than us. He fled his city, due to what occurred therein to Maydaan where he knew no one nor did he have any provision. It was at Maydaan that he found two sisters staying back from the watering hole as the shepards were watering their flocks and they(the two sisters) did not wish to mix with the men. So Musa, in an act of kindness to strangers, watered their flocks and sat in the shade where he made the du’a

فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ

and said, "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need." [ayah 24]

After that agreed to be hired by the father of the two sisters and married one of them by his(the father’s) permission and the agreement they made. What this story shows us is the true reliance upon Allah and returning to him when things seem at their worst. Musa was in the worst circumstances a person could be in, yet Allah provided for him where he did not anticipate.

So one should trust Allah. He has promised throughout his noble book that he will provide and ease the affair of his slaves. He even provides for the kuffar while they mock and disbelieve in him, so do you think he would leave you in despair? We must put things in perspective. If you want good, pray. Get up and make dua’ to your lord and constantly ask him to grant you that which will help you in this life and the hereafter.

Being sad is a natural emotion, but temper it with worship, and relying on Allah.
