Headcanons

No smut in this one, since I just really wasn’t in the mood but wanted to write this anyways. I’ve been listening to a lot of limp bizkit lately, idk what that says about me though.

You would have met the first time during one of your robberies, he would definitely make some joke about how he thought the cat burglars were in Gotham.

You’d give him the runaround and somehow escape him even with his super speed, which gets on Barry’s nerves since that rarely happens, especially from someone who doesn’t have any meta powers.

He’s never been one to resolve all his issues with violence like other heroes, so he would want to know why you steal and if he can help you out of the situation you are in that is leading you to steal. It becomes flirty pretty quickly, especially when you use some of your flexibility to wrap your legs around his head, or around his waist.

He finds out you mainly steal to give back to the people, like a modern day robin hood. So whilst he appreciates the enthusiasm for what you do, he cant let you rob all the places you want as much as he thinks it’s a noble cause.

At some point your flirting becomes steamier and more real as you learn more about each other, and at some point, you stage thefts just to see him. You don’t even make it out of the place you’ve robbed before he’s there and meeting you.

Neither of you can really say how or when you started dating for real, maybe it was one day Barry was hurt and you took him back to your apartment and patched him up, or that time he had to take your mask off to make sure you didn’t have a concussion.

But one thing lead to another and you both kissed, and your chases became even more of a game, the people of central city soon learned that you didn’t really pose any threat and that the flash would be there soon enough.

It becomes a meme in town that it’s just foreplay for you two, that you both like to play that little game of yours before the flash scoops you up and takes you home. Of course, that part has never been proven, but it’s part of the joke.

Some of the league would be uncomfortable in the beginning with Barry dating you, but when they voice their opinions, he’s quick to point out just how many of them have done the exact same or dated even worse villains.

Bruce decides very smartly to not say a single thing, because he has his own cat based burglar he likes to play tag with across the rooftops.

You are of course good friends with Selina, you both being cat based and with an eye for high quality goods. You also like to share stories of your lovers, you about the flash and her about Batman.

You visit her in Gotham sometimes, and she will come to Central city every now and then, just so you two can hang out, go shopping, commit a couple of thefts. Selina ends up loving Barry and says he’s just right for you, which makes your blonde lover blush.

Barry himself is pretty flexible in my opinion, but you are on a whole other level. You two like to exercise together or do yoga, so when you can pull off the super difficult poses he Is amazed and wants you to teach him.

There’s been multiple times during your games of chase that you have swung around poles and used it to change the direction you were running in, or have caught Barry with your legs whilst still holding onto the pole.

The two of you will never tell anybody, but you have most definitely given Barry a show or two with what you know on the pole, and he is a very enthusiastic viewer.

At some point you two are caught kissing by the public and it becomes like a secret only the people of central city know, but they honestly aren’t surprised at this point.

You end up becoming more of an anti-hero or vigilante, just stealing from the corrupt and only ever going after the normal persons items when you want to play with Flash on slow nights. You give large majority of the money you make back to the public to better the city for those who don’t have much, so you end up having fans too.

You end up meeting the league at some point, having to join during a meeting because they could truly use your expertise. Instead of sitting in the chair they offer you, you sit down in Barry’s lap which he just smiles about, looking almost as red as his suit.

Nightwing and other heroes who rely a lot on gymnastics end up going to you for advice because of how skilled you are, so you become a more permanent part of the league as you train others on how to use gymnastics and their bodies during battle, and in exchange you get some other training yourself.

You never become an official member of the league, because you don’t want too. But they get used to seeing you together with Barry, and they get especially used to you draping yourself all over the speedster like a big lazy cat, which always makes him flush.

I love thinking about them getting a cat. I will give any character a cat if I can, and ever since that one episode when Buck's landlord said the only pets they allow are cats I've been like 👀

So maybe he takes in a rescue they found during a call. Some gangly tabby with too-big paws and the crispiest lil meow that absolutely refuses to unhook his claws from Buck's chest after Buck pulls him out of a pile of rubble. And Buck's like, okay, well. I hope Tommy likes cats. They're not quite living together, but the amount of time Tommy spends at his place they may as well be.

Tommy starts, somehow, spending even more time at the loft after Buck brings home a cat. He would be that "dads and the cats they say they didn't want" meme. He's kinda neutral on the whole issue when Buck brings it up at first, he thinks it's sweet that Buck cares so much, but that's about it. Then he actually meets the cat. And the cat loves him. Perches on his shoulder while they're watching TV. Sits next to him and headbutts his shin while he's trying to eat dinner at the table. And Tommy is just so charmed by it. Buck wants to be annoyed that his own cat keeps cockblocking him by monopolizing his boyfriend's attention but it's just so fucking cute how happy it makes Tommy whenever the cat comes around loudly demanding cuddles.

Buck always kinda worried that getting a pet would be a bad idea with the hours he works, but he barely gets out the sentence "I wonder if he gets lonely while I'm at work" before Tommy's volunteering to drop by when their shifts don't line up. He already has a key. And he knows where the cat food is. It's fine, he doesn't mind.

It only takes one shift for Buck to decide he wants to move in with Tommy for real. He gets home and Tommy's cross-legged on the floor, smiling all soft and fond, holding a piece of string that neither of them are really paying attention to. The cat's stretched out in front of him oversized paws kneading air, purring so loud Buck can hear it from the front door.

And yeah, that's pretty much how Buck feels about having Tommy around too. He gets it.

Sharing this year's book log with the small reviews i did while reading yeah i am That kind of list lover if u feel like being nosy, (and maybe even help mi crowdsource reading recs based on my likes 👀🤲?)

The left Hand of Darkness - Ursula K. Le Guin Ursula i Need to know your thoughts on omegaver- [gunshot] THAT ASIDE yeah. mrs Le Guin you've done it again. I can see why everyone got their brain chemistry altered by this book.

The Membranes - Chi Ta-Wei another brain chemistry altering book. would love to discuss it with a gender studies major lmao

Satanic Verses - Salman Rushdie its a v atmospheric and poignant story, I know I would have loved it more if I was familiar with the rich religious/cultural background it draws from

The Masquerade Series - Seth Dickinson Crazy insane in the membrane about this series. one of the most compelling worldbuildings I've ever seen, and most importantly it features one of the most crazy wet pathetic scrunkly meow meow protagonists i've ever had the pleasure of reading about.

Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides i liked the writing style of this book a lot! idk how well it holds up re: intersexuality topic, but its a very engaging read.

Dead Blondes and Bad Mothers: Monstrosity, Patriarchy, and the Fear of Female Power - Jude Ellison, Sady Doyle The title says it all honestly, its a beautiful, thought provoking and engaging essay, spanning eras, pop culture phenomenons, and real life events on the topic of women and horror.

The cat who saved books - Sōsuke Natsukawa this was so cute and heartfelt, it will really make you go Ah Yes, this is Why we Love Books <333

The Locked Tomb Series - Tamsyn Muir now when people say there is a girl who is the cursed sacrifice of 2000 infants who falls in love with the sleeping embodiment of the soul of the Earth (barbie) and also another girl who is the only survivor of the aforementioned sacrifice and is. a Jesus metaphor? and also the two girls become one at some point. and every book is a different genre. and god is bisexual. and memes survived the nuclear apocalypse. I can just nod and say so true.

The Area X Trilogy - Jeff VanderMeer Rotating this series in the microwave of my mind at the speed of light it's soSO GOOD!! the movie doesn't even come close honestly u NEED to read the books. and then go touch grass and be aware of every strand in a completely new way.

The Dawn of Yangchen - F. C. Yee nice read! I was more invested in the worldbuilding crumbs than in the actual story lmao, I will forever think about the HEATED airball rivalry between the air temples and about the swt greetings / bethrotal armbands.

Inuit Stories of Being and Rebirth: Gender, Shamanism, and the Third Sex - Bernard Saladin d'Anglure starting w a disclaimer bc I feel like the topic of native colonization was ignored when it should have been way more prominent when talking about the context of where and when these testimonies were collected?? That aside it was very interesting and well put together, with first account testimonies of Inuit elders about their myths, lifestyles and beliefs.

Pachinko - Min Jin Lee i read the book after having seen the tv series (which i also rlly recommend). Very moving story about a family and its generations, from Korea under Japanese colonization to modern day America.

Her body and other parties - Carmen Maria Marchado sometimes I go about my day then I remember this book exists and stare at the wall for 30 minutes.

Dictionnaire de l'impossible - Didier Van Cauwelaert big miss. this collection of articles about "strange impossible phenomenons" sounded so quirky and interesting but i sure would have loved if the author hadnt so clearly picked a side. and also way too much church for my tastes.

He who Drowned the World - Shelley Parker Chan Im not even gonna speak about this one if you've followed me since july you know what pits of insanity and despair i'm in

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow - Gabrielle Zevin Sometimes!! the book with pretty covers put in the "famous on socials" bookstore section!! are good!! It's about being othered it's about connection it's about diaspora it's about love and friendship and most of all it's about viddy games.

Station Eleven - Emily St. John Mandel reading this post-covid and learning it was written in 2017 was A TRIP. Psychic damage at every page. still feeling very normla.

The Mask of Apollo - Mary Renault Ugh i desperately wanted to like this book because the setup is so interesting and full of potential, but the end result was just. flat. flat story flat characters the plot focusing on the wrong things at the wrong times i was so DONE when i reached the end otz.

Babel - R. F. Kuang LOVED the worldbuilding in this, the "lost in translation" system of magic is one of the most interesting things ive ever read. I think theres something about the writing in general that didn't win me over completely?? but all in all a very good

Red Ocean - Han Song This sure is a Book. That i've Read. its so profundly strange and unlike anything ive come across that i dont even know what to feel about it. i think 90% of my confusion comes from Not Getting Cultural References so if someone has a "red ocean explained" essay plz send it my way bc i couldnt find one.

Don't mind me just casually dropping a thought nugget-

Anyway Ussop and Buggy both with MEGA imposter syndrome energy, somehow the cross guild and strawhats cross paths and declare a truce ((maybe it's a simple island, maybe Buggy's just "feeling nice" and so doesn't instigate, who tf knows-))

Anyway, Ussop and Buggy having a brief moment of a heart to heart, maybe Ussop overhears a Cross Guild "argument" ((ie: Croc threatening Buggy)), and he's actually... concerned? About this guy?? I mean yeah Buggy has done some bad shit and all but he helped Luffy with the whole Impel Down Thing. Luffy is a good judge of character, and if it wasn't On Sight this meet up, then obviously Buggy is a halfway decent dude.

So it becomes Pinocchio Jesus trying to subtly give therapy to a feral cat clown man on the outskirts of a party.

And when Buggy inevitably drops a "it's just the way it is, kid, they're stronger than me, I can offer nothing", Ussop has a moment of oh. You're like me, aren't you, Buggy?

((Bonus points, Luffy alternating between inhaling food, playing around and being absolutely GLUED to someone (Zoro, Buggy or Crocodile, in that order of frequency).

Eventually Lu decides to give a Grand Retelling Of Events, and he calls Buggy "one of the harder people I fought" without hesitation bc, to Luffy, he WAS. Buggy was the one who hurt his hat, who gave him a challenge STILL IN THE EAST, and who was tenacious and smart in ways he didn't GET. mihawk and Crocodile both are Doubting until Luffy gets into the Impel Down events and they... are beginning to Wonder. Buggy was underestimated when arrested, on a higher level, but even those levels have good security. And Buggy was out and mid escape when Luffy found him.

How did THAT happen?

And actually... he was starting and running a business in two years - one they integrated into with... very little push back or struggle. Mihawk may not be as business oriented, but both can tell that the math isn't... mathing precisely as expected.

Luffy, so infectious with energy, in that hat, in that shade of red - well. Buggy's been lonely for so long, and he's tired. What's the harm in dropping a few of his many, many guards?

Luffy is over the moon bc as far as he's concerned, the moment Buggy helped him, they became Friends, and when he learned he's an ally or smth of Shanks'? That's it, Buggy, you're being assimilated into the found family. Good luck, pal.

I love the fact that no one is aware of Vox’s actual ranking and the fact that Vox has no idea how much they actually like him. Do you think they, the sins, would ever petition for him to get to go to other rings? Especially since the sinners are put at the top ring to be easier to exterminate and they might wanna avoid that? Maybe they just try for at least a day trip? I can’t imagine it would be easy especially since Lucifer isn’t the most fond of him but I also imagine he wouldn’t break the rules, if it’s in his power, just for one sinner anyways

The sins want Vox to be able to visit other rings, but they're been unsuccessful in find a way to let him pass through the boundaries. They've never had a sinner like Vox before so they don't know which way they're supposed to go. Does he need special permission from everyone? Just Lucifer? From the whole Royal family or some type of blood sacrifice?

The reason they haven't really put in the effort yet is because Vox hasn't really expressed interest in travelling the other rings. They don't know that Vox isn't aware of his status , so they assume that he's content where he is. Vox, on the other hand, is very interested in exploring the other rings, but he assumes he isn't allowed too and he doesn't want to ask just in case it would be viewed as disrespectful

Once Vox discovers his high ranking, he will actually explore the other rings of Hell to see how his power is holding up and if he needs to change things. VoxTech would expand to the other regions, and Vox would supply jobs to the hellborn sinners. They would be under Vox's protection too- so the likelihood of them being injured or killed by others gets lowered. Papermint would also get an exception as Vox's assistant, but he would only be allowed to travel with Vox or with written approval from Vox

As for the sins!

Mammon views Vox as potential for money. Vox is incredibly rich and knows how to play into people's wants and desires to fuel his own powers and needs so Mammon respect him, but doesn't like him because Mammon things he should be the only one who is rich and in charge of people's money. Mammon doesn't mind Vox as a person. He views him as a cash cow, though, and wants to exploit Vox like a mini-attraction.

Levi likes Vox because Vox likes sea creatures and respects the creatures. When Levi discovered that Vox's favourite animal was a shark- he knew what he had to do. He created Vark by hand specifically for Vox, but also as a creature who could stand on his own in case Vox turned out to be abusive towards animals. When Vox brought Vark to the next meeting, Levi was pleased to see how well cared for the shark was and how much Vark loved Vox- it became clear to Levi that Vox was someone who deserved his powers and the pet. He likes to see Vox get jealous or possessive because he finds it humorous, and he sees himself in Vox. He uses Vark as a means of measuring Vox as a person since Vark is an excellent judgement of character.

Ozzy relies a lot on Vox for his factories, but he doesn't try to take advantage of Vox's powers. He likes Vox as a person and finds him rather charming and witty. Ozzy respects Vox as a businessman and appreciates how much Vox cares for his employees. They never talk about sex with one another because Vox gets uncomfortable quickly- but Ozzy knows about Vox's partner, and he can tell that the relationship isn't the best, but he's unaware of how bad it was. When Vox starts to date Alastor, it's a huge shift in personality and change, and Ozzy does get a bit sad because it becomes obvious to him that Vox was being abused and he blames himself for not noticing. He could sense a huge lack of lust rolling off of Vox but just fought he may not have been the most sexual. Ozzy knows now that there was a huge lack of consent, but he never brings it up to keep Vox feeling secure

Bee and Vox get along the best because they're both pretty outgoing. Vox does have some anxiety and can be bad at socializing. Bee finds him rather endearing and likes to hang out with him. Vox gets along pretty well with Bee's boyfriend, too, and the trio likes to have lunch together during the meetings. Vox supplies Bee with all the power she needs because she has helped him the most and was always there to comfort him when he needed it. Bee knew of Vox's relationship with Val, but she was asked to keep it private, and she respected his wish. Bee and Vox both like sweets, too, and sometimes Bee would bake goodies for Vox to try. Sometimes they're drugged, and sometimes they're not. After Vox starts dating Alastor- he tells her no more drugged ones- which she also respects

Lucifer finds Vox idiotic and clumsy, but he does like him. He's a firm believer that Vox could do way better than Alastor, but he doesn't meddle with Vox's personal life. Lucifer does his best to make sure that Vox is happy and content because he's worried about power outages all the time. Vox is a great source of anxiety and stress for him, but he doesn't say it outloud. He's the one that eventually tells Vox of his ranking because he finds out first that Vox thinks he's just an 'overlord.' Lucifer is embarrassed that he never told Vox, and eventually Lucifer gives Vox a charm that allows him to travel through the rings. Alastor doesn't like the charm, but he accepts it as a 'work-related item'

Satan and Vox tend to argue a lot because they're both rather hot-headed. Their arguments are usually lighthearted though and the two don't mind each other. They're not exactly friends though

Belph and Vox are mostly friends because of Bee, but they can hang out and socialize without Bee. They like to nap together sometimes, and Belph doesn't mind sharing her drugs with Vox.

I don't know a lot of Belph and Satan so sorry for the shitty explanation! As I come up with more I'll expand on it

Ask is about my Google doc labeled "All the better to eat you with." Looking at the title (and knowing your taste 😆 ) you were probably expecting it to be about werewolves, but it's actually the tentacle monster!Essek oviposition fic I've been working on in the FUN WITH JELLY thread in the AifL dark channels.

For those not already initiated: Essek runs afoul of some unholy Aeorian experiment that turns him into a horny cecaelia-esque tentacle monster. Caleb stumbles on him and quickly finds himself stripped naked and bound up with tentacles. Essek proceeds to fuck him silly and stuff his ass full of (nonviable) eggs. He then wraps Caleb up in a sort of fantasy latex he can produce and sticks him to the wall, where Caleb spends the next however long being fucked and tended to like a combination house plant/gimp until the eggs are ready to come out.

Caleb gasped as the egg ruthlessly pushed its way inside him, slow and inexorable as a glacier. Even after all that stretching, his cunt still burned like the nine hells from being forced open wider than it had done in years—or maybe ever. His eyes stung with tears of pain. Mercifully, the tapered shape meant he didn't have to take it all at once, and the snail-crawl pace gave him plenty of time to adjust. The downside was, the painful stretch lasted so much longer. Then, all at once, the widest part of the egg passed inside of him, and Caleb's greedy cunt was able to get enough of a grip on it to reflexively suck it the rest of the way in. Oh wow, yes if her family forced her to Change and didn't tell her??? The layers of broken trust could outcompete an onion. And Bea's family is probably a big deal in the werewolf world, so there were likely a number of interested parties waiting to see how and when the potential heir to the pack would be brought into the fold.

And Bea would be so horrified by the way the pack is run and the oppressive rules they use to keep their members in line. And she would find out that some (a lot) of the people they try to Change don't survive the process, so not only did her family lie to her, betray her, and deliberately hurt her, they did so with no guarantee that she would actually live through it! That's the final straw, and she runs away during the next full moon, eventually climbing into Ava and Lil's place, possibly because she senses something safe or comforting about it. If Ava has an affinity for werewolves, Bea's wolf spirit would probably sense it and drive Bea to seek her out.

And oh my god, if Diego was a werewolf who lost his mind and killed Ava???? Devastating. He might have been turned as a kid and left to fend for himself without a pack to teach him control. Ava would have tried to help him, and he found something calming about her presence (there's a concept like this in the Mercy Thompson books too, an Omega (NOT that kind of Omega)). But then on one full moon it gets to be too much, and he can't stop himself. She wakes up an unknown amount of time later, and he's long gone. Maybe he's still alive somewhere. She still thinks about him, and sometimes dreams about him as a grown man wandering the world still.

So when Jillian begs Bea to Change Michael, it sparks turmoil on multiple fronts. Bea is terrified of killing Michael by accident, and Ava is scared of history repeating with a young werewolf living without a pack. It's Lilith who steps in to calm them both down, reminding Bea that she's an incredibly careful and competent person with excellent control over her wolf, so the chances of her accidentally killing him are slim. And she reminds Ava that Bea (and potentially Shannon, Mary, and the other gals) is a mature wolf who can teach Michael how to adjust and control himself.

So they agree to do it, and it works! And he's just a really big puppy who wags his tail and begs his mom for treats. For Bea, it's an opportunity to fully sever ties with her family and maybe build a pack of her own (with Ava and Lil included because who says a pack can only be wolves?). And for Ava, it's a chance not to change the tragedies of the past but to take their lessons and make something better in the here and now.

Lmao, Lil and Ava being like "Who's Napoleon?" "Was he that guy who... ehm, fought England that one time?" "That doesn't narrow things down..." Or they have moments where they're resting in bed, about to fall asleep, when they suddenly sit straight up and yell "That twink was Alexander the Great!!"

And if Ava met and was pals with Jesus, like a secret apostle, she probably tried to spread some of his good teachings to the world (without the God stuff) until she realized over time what that preaching was turning into and cut her ties. The story changed so much over two millennia that she can no longer see the man she knew in the image of him projected on the world today.

(He's most comfortable in nature, so it's him subconsciously hoping to make this more relaxing, even if he forgets to check whether she would also find that relaxing, but he'd be fine if she'd rather sit inside to talk.) I went with just some muses because picking one for all of them would have meant using a level of brain power I currently don't have xD I picked the muses I usually neglect when it comes to this stuff for a change xD

Mabel: When eating M&M (or any similar candies with a colourful exterior coating) Mabel firstly licks / scrapes off the shell so she can eat it on its one, and only then she eats the core.

Blitzo: He can't eat too many sweets / eat too much sugary foods / drink sugary beverage because it sends him into a manic sugar high. No one knows this, not even Loona, so whenever it happens they assume that he is on drugs. Blitzo considers that explanation more dignified, so he had never bothered to correct them.

Millie: One of Millie's hobby is the hellish equivalent of yoga. It might seem a little strange because of how temperamental and over energetic she is, but it actually helps her staying balanced.

Adrien: He hates the sound of a gum being chewed. He doesn't know where the strong loathing comes from, but every time someone is chewing a gum around him, he has to leave not to snap at them at the point of making a scene. As Cat Noir, he is much less polite and verbally forces the person to spit the gum out.

Jinx: She refuses to drink plain water. Mind you, it's hard to find truly clean water in Zaun, but Jinx would rather drink the dirty one anyway. She doesn't like how it tastes like nothing, it rubs her off in the wrong way. For that reason, she always has to mix it up with something, no matter what and where she is.

I have more, also for the other muses, but these are the ones I can think of right now. Also, I'm not sure some of this count as weird, but well...Maybe unusual?

I wasn't exactly sure of what the meme meant with this, if it was referring to physical strength or to how strong as an opponent each muse would be, so I went for the latter xD Also because it was easier than figuring out how physically strong each of them are x.x

Weeeeell, this is a tricky question. If I have to think only about writing the muses in general, then I'd say that yeah, I'm having fun with all of them. Sure, at times some of them are too demanding, and others are finicky, but that doesn't take away the fun from writing them. Of course I have muses that I find more fun to write than others, but all in all the experience is entertaining with them all.

If I was to reply basing myself exclusively on my writing experience on Tumblr, then the answer would be so and so. Though, this isn't because of the muses themselves, but it's more about the site and how most people in the RPC act.

13. What’s your favourite portion of sound design from the show? From my own stuff, I *really* like having someone close a spacesuit helmet mid-line. So you can hear their voice change from clear to slightly muffled. I do it a lot but you can hear it in Long Way Home From Ceres and Ride Boldly Ride. But also all the glitches and noises in I Walk These Hills and Objects in Motion. One of my favoritest things to make.

15. Are you working on anything else outside of this show? Yes! I am in the writing process for a horny werewolf noir audiodrama called It Takes a Wolf, hopefully that will premiere in the fall of this year!

16. Briefly outline your process for making a season happen. The dev writers lay out how many and what sort of episodes we expect to write, then we put out a call for pitches, read those and select from the candidates. Everyone writes for a month and we make sure that each script gets read by at least two editors. After revisions, things go to casting. Casting days are FRANTIC as we play a giant game of tetris to make sure we all get the best fit actors for parts. Then we schedule recordings, trying to get as much as we can done synchronously (all actors and director on a call). Then the editors crawl into their holes to make it all come together.

17. What’s something that inspired your show? Only speaking for myself: The Expanse, Firefly, the collected works of Robert A Heinlein, Mass Effect, Battletech Lore, Eldurado (the john wayne movie), Secondhand Lions, SIlverado, the works of Aaron Sorkin, the music of @narcissistcookbook, and Enter the Haggis and fuck, a whole lot else.

18. What’s something you’d like the audience to take away from your show? People are people. Mostly trying their best. Working together is the only way to beat the system. Fuck Amazon.
