i decided to celebrate passing my exam by doing birdtober day 8! the prompt was heron, so I decided to do the first "rare" bird i ever saw: the yellow crowned night heron!

I saw this one on lake hefner about midsummer two years ago. even better, I took a picture (which i don't usually do when I go birding) so here you are:

I felt very proud of this id lmao, it was right when i first started birding. as always, no promises that I will do every birdie on the prompt list, but maybe i will do a couple more as time permits.
