that romance snippets tag got me thinking about romance tropes I like

and suddenly I need to write something with a Romeo&Juliet/Cinderella/West Side Story-esque sequence where the two characters make meaningful eye contact (maybe it's longing. maybe it's astonishment. maybe it's lust. who knows. who cares.) across a crowded dance floor/ballroom
