mmj x vbs shared live but instead of full group shared covers they pair off each other's duets with shizuai and akitoya getting one song and minoharu and anhane getting another.

shizuai and akitoya should sing ifuudoudou. i think it'd be incredibly funny. shizuai already have an explicit duet anyway (romeo and cinderella) and i think shizuku could absolutely kill in the umetora style. i don't think mmj or really colopale as a whole lets her do enough with her voice; she has plenty of potential as a vocalist to put out power and presence, mmj has done performances where shizuku gets to be the powerhouse she's capable of being. but the majority of mmj's songs put her in a more supportive vocal role, akin to honami or kanade (she has a similar vocal presence to them, so i can't really blame them, but just like we've seen with those two shizuku has the ability to be the vocal lead). they should let her pop off and i think being paired with vbs, specifically the bad dogs, would give her that opportunity. and none of this is mentioning airi's voice and how naturally present it is and i think it'd be a really nice contrast against akitoya.

as for minoharu/anhane, i'm less certain on what song they should take. if the other pair of pairs gets a vbs cover they should probably get a mmj song, and anhane are the ones more likely to do mmj compared to akitoya (not that them doing so wouldn't be hilarious, specifically akito), but the problem becomes What Song. i think, musically, anhane could pull off darling dance really well, it being close enough to the vbs style in its vocal intensity (just going off the mmj cover) that anhane wouldn't have to stray too far from what they normally do. but also anhane already have a couple duets that would work just as well as mmj covers (the ones that come to mind are just be friends and teikoku shoujo), so that's not really needed. but at the same time, it'd probably be jarring from an audience's perspective if the performance went from ifuudoudou to something like lonely universe or near, or the other way around. or maybe i'm just thinking too deeply about this and not picking the silly options simply because they're silly (i most certainly am). this also doesn't consider that they could opt to just not use a minoharu duet since it's a much more limited pool than anhane duets.

anyway this post was supposed to be about shizuai/akitoya ifuudoudou because i think it'd be so incredibly funny for them to jump into a song like that. especially because i don't think shizuku would think twice about it, while airi is Aware and only not hesitating because they're actively performing and she's too competitive a person to let akito get away with overpowering her on the stage. the bad dogs would absolutely be able to draw something out of shizuai and get them to sing beyond their familiar idol style. this is a segway into the real point of this post where i start yapping about wanting shizuai and akitoya to actually interact with each other as pairs and experience each other's musical styles /j

shizuai leaning into the nature of ifuudoudou so that akitoya don't show them up (shizuku's mostly just following airi's lead). a moment during one of the instrumental breaks where airi semi-complains about shizuku being able to do this too because girl is just having fun, akito teasing at airi since this is his turf and it just makes her get more into the song.

i don't expect this to ever happen officially but god it would be so so funny.
