Transcript: You can do this forever...

My favorite part of my art process is the color. Color can bring a piece to life, make it feel full. But...

It's hard to do that with a character that's just black and white! Since I've been mostly drawing Siffrin, my usual coloring process has become boring. Though, on the plus side, this makes me want to experiment more. I've been messing around with the tools in my art app (Infinite Painter) during my art process recently. That's how I got this piece. I used one of the charcoal tools for the shadows. I think it's called Glazed Vine. I don't remember what tool I used for the values on the cloak. It might have been the same tool, but I think it was different.

With using absolute black for Siffrin's design and the background, I had to outline the blacks with thin white line art. Though, with the lines being so thin, they were somewhat translucent. Whenever I had to use multiple strokes for a connected line, you could see everytime I lifted up my stylus. I tried to fix this by inking the lines multiple times. That fixed the problem, but that made the lines way too bright. So I looked at one of the lines that didn't need multiple attempts of line art, and I used my color picker on the line to get a light gray. Then I used the light grey to redo the bright white line art, and viola. Problem solved!

I had difficulty figuring out the pose and anatomy for this artwork. I probably should have searched up a reference, but meh. I think it turned out pretty good, anyways. I think I struggled with making the feet look like they're touching the ground, though. I suppose there could be more anatomy mistakes, but hey! Siffrin's cloak does a fantastic job at hiding any mistakes I could've made. Speaking of the cloak, I really like how it turned out! I think I did a good job with the cloak folds.

And that's basically all I have to say about this piece. Though, I want to mention that, for some reason, it's easier for me to draw anatomy and poses on paper than on my phone. I don't really know why that is. Maybe it's because I have more surface to draw on with my sketchbook?

Anyhow, I'll go ahead and add the initial sketch and a screenshot of my artwork in the middle of the coloring process.

I was originally planning on this piece being about Siffrin sacrificing himself for their friends, but I ended up changing that. I also had to change the hands. You can see that the hand holding Siffrin's dagger is wrong.

I added the mid-color screenshot because I just think it looks cool. It kinda reminds me of something that Julia from Drawfee would paint.

Some random The Amazing Digital Circus x FNF AU

Okay so... Fair warning because it is based on an existing mod. Specifically, The Amazing Digital Circus Funk Off Reality. I did it because the ideas went wild after seeing BF and GF's designs! As such, BF and GF's designs from that mod are NOT CHANGING!! Because they are already perfect and fit in universe.

Another warning: Not every character acts like their canon counterparts. This is due to either being AI, or the Circus fucking them up mentally.

Background: This version of the Circus is instead run by a trio of AIs, Pumpkin Spice (or Spice for short), Calvera, and Mango. And their first victims were what would eventually become the 'core four'.. those being the first four brought into The Amazing Digital Circus. Like in the main universe, Spice loves coming up with ideas for adventures, and especially loves to bring people out of their comfort zones!! ...Let's stop describing the background, because now it's time for the characters! (for the most part)

I'll save the hosts for last... so let's begin with:

Beepy! Beepy is a wind-up toy robot with detached limbs. He can only speak in beeps and boops, but the eyes change color depending on his emotions. He is friends with Mimei, and maybe they were more than just friends before they arrived long ago. He is trying to be friends with Clockwork, and Hana doesn't even want to be around him.

Mimei (pronounced Mimi) is a tall feminine mime. Usually not talking, and almost always frowning, she just bops her head to the music. Especially if it's Beepy's music. Maybe they were something more before arriving in the Circus long ago? Regardless, she can speak non-verbally, and is friends with Hana and Candy.

(I'm gonna warn you right now, not everyone has a design. Albeit I can just say who they are supposed to be based on in canon.)

Clockwork is a tall toy-soldier with short ginger hair with three rounded spikes sticking out of the back, painted on rosy cheeks, and of course he has that scent of being made of tin. His gun is fake, obviously. He's anxious and nervous about looking bad in front of his friends, but his friends know he means well. Beepy and Sugar are even encouraging him to be brave! Before entering the Circus, he was this universe's Pico, a young man just worried about his friends going missing.

Hana is a white rabbit with 'kawaii' features, like blank black eyes with white pupils, a cute bunny face, rosy cheeks, and paws for hands and feet. He even has a cute tail! He wears a pink kimono at all times, and doesn't seem to know how to put it on. Thank god nobody needs to clean themselves in this place.. He's polite and calm, until Spice, Calvera and Mango leave the room. He is stressed out and annoyed, and just wants to go home. Before entering the Circus, he was this universe's Senpai, a senior in high school who was very bored and wanted to play this new vr game that was sent to him anonymously.

(And as for these four, I can remove them if their owners don't want these characters in the AU. It's already perfect as is, so if we lost these four, it would not harm the AU.)

Cynder is a condensed smoke man, with it's hair tied into a ponytail. He has a long grey/black hoodie with no need for any other clothes due to being made of smoke. He's a kind, polite and laid-back man. In fact, he's probably the most calm about being put into The Amazing Digital Circus. His outside counterpart is this universe's Garcello, with how he entered the Circus still being a mystery to this day.

Blammo is a man with a bomb for a head, and no neck. He's crazy cheerful and playful, and is a master of mischief. Pretty much if he goes on adventures, he's most likely to cause more trouble than actually help the others. The only person that can reign him in his Mimei or Sugar. His outside counterpart is this universe's Julian, aka human Whitty. He went missing because he got bored and wanted to play that vr game he got.. much like Senpai.

Vivi is a tv-headed dude with jester's attire. He's cheerful and carefree, but eager to help whenever offered something in return. He has a secret stash of candy that he hides, but often usually has to chase Mango out of his room because Mango keeps on finding his secret stash. His outside counterpart is this universe's Hex, a young grad student who was investigating the disappearance of Julian.

Candy is a girl with a candy-head, her head being full of konpeito. She has a cute dress on her body, and floating hands. She's sweet and kind, and very generous when it comes to sharing her candy. Since her room is full of candy, and she has a lot. Her outside counterpart is this universe's Sky, being a young girl wondering where all her friends went.

And now... The hosts!! Aka the AI that trapped everyone here.

Spice is a pumpkin headed woman with a cute pumpkin themed dress and a jack-o-lantern face with a singular glowing light in the eye. She is the ringleader of The Amazing Digital Circus, being an AI that brought in people from the real world to go on adventures in her amazing digital world! She's very cheerful and friendly, but is also kind of creepy at times to those who are new to her Circus.

Calvera is a skeleton headed man with a tuxedo on, and he has no neck. He is the assistant to Spice, and is also an AI that brings people from the real world into The Amazing Digital Circus. He's friendly and cheerful, but less creepy. In a way, whenever he isn't given much of a task, he sneaks off to his garden and tends to his flowers. Don't ask why a skeleton is into gardening, just accept it.

Mango is a young girl with a mango for a head, and a cute outfit consisting of red, green and yellow sweater, white overalls, and brown shoes. She has floating hands, as she has no visible arms. She's very friendly and cheerful, and often does strange stuff to the point that she even disturbs Spice of all people.

Art, plus a shadowed version & two thumbnails.(imo, I like the un-shadowed version better, but the shadowed one's starting to grow on me.🙂)

Based off a spur-of-the-moment thumbnail. In the middle of making it, I interpreted it as she’s not feeling “pain” per se (since she doesn’t have nerves); more like slight pressure that she’s cautious could burst.😔

*So sorry!🙇‍♀️Between getting ‘rona again & readjusting, I took a longer break than I intended. Guess this drawing of worry is kinda subconscious😳…Now that I've ruminated on it, it's okay🙂. This was a work-life balance lesson in managing forced breaks (like sickness).

MINI JOURNAL

This was another piece I was exhausted with. Another was the “Jenny slightly pulling back” one. While this “Jenny tending to leg” was over a week, it almost didn't feel any less concentrated with exhaustion.😔Anyways, in both cases, I didn't have too clear of an idea of what the final piece would look like (less so with this new one, as I knew I wanted to keep most of the lines red-orange & color Jenny aqua-green).

Social Media Strategy Tweak

Maybe next time, when in doubt, just keep it a sketch, with no colors or tones??? Tbh, I didnt go that route bc I didn’t want a piece that was too harsh on the eyes from being over a bright white background, but at least a softer white. …Now that I've written it out, it sounds like a dumb reason.😥

Or, was afraid that wasn’t finished enough for IG/social media? Maybe, especially since I wanted to have a red-orange pencil-sketch style in there. Maybe be a little more elaborate & have black cleaner ink lines & grey base tones (like your ‘quick traditionally-styled storyboard’ art style)?

Wait, I just remembered: could do sketches, but do that Natalie Nourigat “draw the pose 5 times” exercise.

The exception will be the Jenny Injured diptych (to still be colored but not further pushes gesture-wise (tbh, I again want to try to get done as quickly as possible)...plus, I'll just say, “something different.” 😉

Personal Preferences & Little Backburner

Imo, I like the shadow-less version. Jenny's legs contrast better with the background, and the colors are closer to what I ended up having in mind.

Yes, even the unconventional red-orange linework with cyan base colors😄. I’d actually been meaning to try that out on a piece; tbh, I just like red-orange/vermilion-colored pencil sketches.😊 I was doing another red-orange pencil, Krita sketch in October that I wanted to try that color scheme on, but the perspective needed retooling.😵‍💫

I actually had this, along with a thumbnail for a completely different piece, on the backburner. While I wanted to do the other one, I went with this more unclear-looking one. That way, I could finish it before I forgot what I had in mind.

After I was well into the finalized sketch, I found a 2nd, more pushed-gesture version of one of  the thumbnails. That’s when I decided to try not to spend too much time on this piece; I wanted to re-do it with this pushed gesture.

Also, after a while of using one of my go-to Krita watercolor brushes from last time (WaterC Flat Decay TIlt), I got really mentally exhausted. Played around with doing the painting stage in Adobe Fresco, but despite Fresco’s watercolor brushes feeling far more comfortable, I wanted to keep this artwork quick. Therefore, I just continued the painting in Krita.

Oh, and instead of erasing the extra pencil lines, I covered most of them up with white.

Plus, that monitor profile changing fixed my colors after all!😊 I’ve gotten my solution written down somewhere. I’ll try to post it sometime.

JUNGKOOK SOULMATE READING

Disclaimer: tarot is speculative and to be taken with a grain of salt.

Let's begin. The long awaited Koo reading.

To start, koos energy is a really rich, solid purple that is kinda pearlescent? It hard to explain but it kinda looks like this

So thats pretty neat. Most of the time the way I see energy it isn't ever really opaque so that was new for me. Now. For personality I drew 2 of swords rev. Death, hermit and knight of pentacles rev. Now. I think this person is elusive. A wrote down "no one quite knows" so I think this is the type of person that has never ending depth. They are ever changing yet always the same? They are kinda blocked off and hard to get to know. You have to earn their trust for sure. Also definitely a perfectionist. Can get bored easily too. I also got slave, knight rev and bully. This person is very strong willed and might have some past trauma that they've yet to let go of. Has probably been in some shit relationships because they tend to have "delusions" about romance (more so i get the feeling that they had high expectations that would never be able to be fulfilled? Like they have a tendency to plan everything out in their head and if it doesn't go exactly to plan then its not good enough.) This person might also be stuck, not moving forward because they have too much faith that everything is just gonna magically work out. Probably spiritual.

Now I also pulled a fortune from my bowl of fortunes and got, "you don't get in life what you want; you get in life what you are." He needs to focus on bettering himself.

Cool cool cool. Now we have Defend to the end , the worth while. This card talks about seeing things for what they really are. Not being swayed by gilded things. Its about learning to love and choose love. Not being afraid of fear. Living your truth. To fight for love and honor and ditch the shit that isn't genuine or doesn't come from a place of love. Its about standing your ground even when its hard. Not compromising yourself.

Overall koo and his soulmate have such a cute and loving relationship. Koo has worked really hard on a soul level and physical level. He's betting himself and he's learning about genuine love. His soulmate couldn't give less shits about whether or not he's famous. His soulmate sees him for who he is, who he really truly is at his core. He doesn't need to protect or keep his walls up. He's open and honest with his soulmate and they are both focused on growing and becoming better people.
