SO, background, this was originally a wxs incorrect quotes blog, around before even this account. However yesterday, they started posting encoded messages which led us to this arg. Currently, we know a few things to be true:

The character behind the account is called Lola, and seems to have been in a group with 4 other people. Lola, maybe importantly, was the name in the original version of Copa Cabana (A key thread). Lola speaks through binary code and messages encoded via caeser cipher, specifically a shift of 4.

One of these people was Rayla Brown, who is seemingly dead. The account posted edited lyrics to the song Copa Cabana, saying that Rayla was now 6 feet underground (dead).

We then were linked to a clarinet solo. There featured a comment under it, from a JayLamb. Going onto his channel is how we found Rayla's last name (the piece of info we were first tasked with finding). He was seemingly romantically involved with this Rayla.

We currently have solved all that we need to, but there are still some threads unsolved. we do not know what happened to Rayla, 3 of the members in this group (Perhaps one was Jay?), why lola is doing this, why is it in code story wise, and there was a picture of the letters j.aiw on the ground, with the w faded, that hasn't come up yet. so far, the most common theme is the number 4, which has came up several times so far.

I'll update this semi regularly, and will continue to try and find stuff out, I have a feeling we are going to start getting more complicated. Good luck solving all.

Bill plops a plate of... something... in front of you.

He gives you a deadpan "expression." With only one eye as a facial feature, reading an expression can be slightly difficult.

"I went through your head while you slept," he admits. "And found your procreation fantasies."

Your face flushes slightly.

(early june through august): I wanna work in the Iron Crown sighting/healing arc I have in the works, because while Ren's not going to CATCH the paradox, it's going to be something that works alongside any volunteers for taking care of Noriko's evil team resurgence. Mostly as extra assurance for them to lose! Tatiana reconciliation Arc will probably take place around here too. basically, if anyone wants involvement with zapapico/ren just in a general context, feel free!

(start of september) Ren goes back to Blueberry! Madison and Jacques will be posting some of notes they find from Noriko, which will have some involvement IC if desired since I'll be using Caesar Ciphers to scramble shit up if anyone wants to play detective. :3c They'll also briefly be around to post on Ren's blog/answer questions!

(mid september) The final batch of notes is found and translated, and the opening to Noriko's secret base of operations is opened! But Madison/Jacques are going to end up kidnapped here by Iori, an admin in Noriko's Neo Flare stuff and actually a faller from Hisui! She'll be available to interact with for at least a day. <3 Design coming soon, I need to figure out her nonsense.

(also mid september) yeah so ren is. escaping the academy, even if it tries to keep them constrained. they are going to be meeting their mom on the remains of cinnabar island, where one confrontation may take place. please keep in mind if you try to do a ren rescue party, it is going to fail. (very specifically for ren) it has to fail for the next leg of the plot, but i AM potentially considering getting carmine in on this mess and getting her injured in the process, and while there, noriko is definitely going to think about taking her too so that her kid has a friend. which. yeahno. this one is influenceable, but is MUCH more likely to fail, so if anyone wants to big damn heroes carmine you have my full permission 👍👍👍 save that girl! (october-november? maybe) noriko's neo team flare shit (name pending) will emerge proper and try to be as evil teammy as possible! ren is going to be a mind controlled admin named lotus and have none of their actual pokemon! shit's going to be bad, but! while it might take a bit to organize some losses for them and i may mostly leave that to anyone who wants to fix this mess (we can either handwave or actually play them out, preference to whoever volunteers), but there's gonna be one event specific for camille, one for iori, one for lotus (which can influence how the big admin battle goes), and then what i'm hoping to be a siege on the base. this one i have ways to bullshit a win (for the good guys!!) for, but i wanna see what people come up with, too!

and by the new year, everyone should be recovering, and that'll be the end of team neo flare at least! the rest of the event will decide everyone else but ren's fate. they will end up coming back fine from this, but it's gonna be rough :')

so yeah. basic rubric and very changeable (i gotta ask some players some stuff and things), my only real rule is no instant wins/legendary spam/godmodding really? i want this to be fun but i want it to feel like an actual uphill battle a bit, and i'm still trying to build toward that. this could even be pushed out into 2025, depending, but! yeah!!!

That flexibility will actually show up a lot, but as long as the basic concept can stay the same I'll allow it.

Charlie Morningstar - Frisk (Undertale) Razzle, Dazzle, Kiki - WIP Vaggie - Chara (Undertale)

Ok, so the Frisk and Chara interpretations are based off of fanon rather than canon, since there's not much we know about Frisk and Chara's behavior in canon. I feel like I don't need to elaborate much here? I mean, I thought it was clever with the Vaggie-Chara thing, since they both fell from the victorious/more powerful world above, don't like talking about it that much, etc. etc. Charlie-Frisk i feel makes a good bit of sense. This does mean Charisk is a ship in this AU but considering I ship them I'm cool with it. If you don't like it maybe they're not in a relationship but are just good friends/see each other as pseudo-siblings? Any suggestions for Razzle, Dazzle, and Kiki? I had the inclination to use temmies but i feel like i used enough Undertale (especially looking later on with the rings)

Alastor - Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls) Niffty - Peridot (Steven Universe)

So. Alastor-Bill Cipher I feel needs no explanation. They're both tumblr sexymen with cool powers and evil tendencies (personally I feel like Pilot!Alastor is a tumblr sexyman and S1!Alastor doesn't but that's a can of worms for a different time). Niffty-Peridot is the one out of the initial six i spent the most time trying to think of, because I couldn't really think of anyone for Niffty, but then i remembered that she's kinda socially inept/unaware, and then I just thought of Peridot.

When Bill last went up against [Vox], The [Vees] had managed to place a spell on him, draining him of most of his power. The one he made the deal with lent him some power in exchange for his soul. His motivation is to defeat the [Vees], break the spell, and end the deal.

The Spell would be like the Magic Barrier in Gravity Falls, preventing Cipher from spreading his chaos beyond the town, except instead of limiting where the power extends to, it just limits how much power.

Angel Dust (Anthony) - The Ink Demon (Bendy) (BATIM/DR) Fat Nuggets - Boris (BATIM/DR) Husk - Cuphead (Cuphead)

Get ready for some real creative liberties on my part. So. Bendy would act more like the Bendy from that Hell's Kitchen AU rather than a canon version of Bendy. He's basically done with making films (whether you want that to be cartoons or porn films like in HH is up to you) but he still has to do it because of the contract. Meanwhile, I considered how Cuphead went to that casino and gambled his soul away. I also drew a bit of inspiration from the Casino Cups AU and how in that AU Cuphead ended up working for the Devil's Casino serving drinks and stuff. So, we've got a Cuphead who gambled his soul away to Bill and is at a very low point in his life. Because HH is gravitating towards HuskerDust, that would mean that in this AU BendyxCuphead is a ship. Uhh, take with that what you will. If you don't like it maybe they're not in a relationship but are just good friends or smth. Actually you can do this with all of the ships. Boris would be more like a small wolf/dog Bendy has as a pet rather than an actual person/character

Sir Pentious - Dr. Doofenshmirtz (Phineas and Ferb) Eggs - Perry the Platypus Clones (Phineas and Ferb)

This one is the one out of the main cast im most iffy about. Pentious and Doofenshmirtz are both science geniuses that try to be evil but fail every step of the way. Eventually they get redeemed. uhh i just chose lil perry clones cuz i thought'd be funny

Now, when I say Spinel, im not talking about the Spinel from the Movie. The characterization of Spinel is drastically different between the movie and the epilogue series. Future paints Spinel as just an overly annoying and excited character that doesn't feel like that's what Spinel should be after the events of the Movie. SUFuture!Spinel feels like a good fit for Mimzy (plus they have the same voice actor, innit?). SUMovie!Spinel doesn't. I just wanted to clear that up here.

Emily - Crowley (Good Omens) Sera - Aziraphale (Good Omens)

Now, when I say Crowley, I mean Pre-Fall!Crowley, like the one we see at the beginning of S2 creating those stars and stuff. They're both really loving life and trusting of Heaven's plan but then they find out some stuff and things go awry. If you believe Em's gonna fall later in HH there's more parallels. Aziraphale believes in Heaven's plans and all that jazz, sticking to those beliefs and stuff, which I feel kinda mirrors Sera's insistence on the current plan Heaven is using.

Lucifer Morningstar - 10th Doctor (Doctor Who) Rubber Ducks - Mini K9's (Doctor Who)

Originally I was debating on whether or not to use the 10th or 11th Doctor, but i eventually stuck with the 10th. Sure, 11 is more silly, but i feel like 10 is just kinda angsty-filled while still retaining that charm and silliness. Plus, I liked the idea of having K9s as Rubber Ducks

saw your recent reblog about feedback and, though I’ve been occasionally gushing in tags, you deserve to hear what I tell my friends! In general, your writing style is perfect at capturing the timing and delivery of the show itself. I’ve never read a fic i’ve been able to visualize more clearly than this one. You write each character so well that between chapters it feels like i’m right back where i used to be, waiting for new episodes again. I do think you haven’t *quite* solved your side-character-ification (applejackification?) of Dipper problem yet, but other than that you’re doing an astounding job at balancing all the characters and their interactions with each other and with bill in a way that feels natural (plus with these more recent chapters i’m seeing lots of good dipper stuff so you’re definitely getting there with him too! besides, it is nice to see Mabel get the spotlight after all these years anyway. healing, even.) You know exactly how to control an audience’s emotions, you know when to drag something out and when to shut it down, you know when to cut off a conversation and when bring up the fact it was cut off later. Little foreshadowings like the loose tooth are well-planted and plot beats like lucid dreaming are dropped and picked back up delicately and with precision, like pressing piano keys. i don’t doubt for a second it’s all a part of some grand instrument, though i wouldn’t be surprised if you told me most of it was improvised - another way you’re just like the show was. you’ve done the episodic-and-serialized thing better than at least half of all silver-age cartoons that have attempted to do so! I adore the way you show kindness to all characters in your scenes, from gideon’s characterless mother to the little freak himself. It truly feels as though you pick no favorites, and that’s something you do better than the show did tbh. Not that TBOB needed to hook me in with a marketing campaign, but hypothetically, in a universe where I didn’t own a hand-sewn bill cipher throw-pillow and yet somehow still found this fic, I would definitely be excited for it after reading! you’re gifted, and i hope this does numbers on AO3. I truly cannot stand hazbin hotel, but I may go back and read your other works once this one’s over, just to hear your narrative voice. it’s a voice worth hearing, and may it be forever amplified.

APPLEJACKIFICATION... that made me laugh. Dipper will get some serious development before the end of the eclipse plot and he's key in the next plot, so I think that'll help him make some progress. But yeah—he's not gonna be as important as Mabel, but I do want to make sure he has a plot that stands on its own, smaller though it may be.

It's 2/3 planned, 1/3 improvised. 😁 I've got a lead time of about 15 chapters between what I've posted and what I've written, so I can do stuff like write the poppet chapter, write the tooth fairy arc, edit the poppet chapter, realize that as long as I'm giving him a bloody lip maybe I can loosen his tooth, edit the tooth fairy arc, have him mention that that tooth was loose. And many chapters I haven't written or outlined yet I have loosely planned in my head so I know how to aim toward them.

Wanting to show kindness to all the characters and wanting to give as many of them an internal life as possible is so important to me, and I'm so glad that's showing through so far!

And honestly I think "I hate [xyz] but I'll read it if you're writing it" is the highest compliment. 😂 All my hazbin fics were written pre-season 1 when all we had was the pilot, a couple comics, creator comments, and some Helluva to go by; but idk maybe you'd consider that a plus lol. (If you're interested, on ao3 I've also written Transformers, Godzilla, some Pokémon, and a smattering of other things.)

Nox has finally figured out how to offer a distraction, at least for a few hours. It does not go quite according to plan. Please read this. I understand it's a 13.5k one-shot but I poured a lot of heart and time into it. It's spawned a 6 part series dealing with act 2 and I'm simultaneously working on parts 2 and 4 because I'm so incredibly normal about wizards.

Just You, Just Me - Baldur's Gate 3, Wyll/Tav (Named F!Tav), act 3, childhood friends to lovers, fluff Late one evening on the road to Baldur's Gate, Wyll is pulled away from camp by the sweet sounds of a violin. The woman he finds playing is familiar; unfortunately, he had hoped to never see her again. Result of my first Tav. Unlike the 30-something wizards above, Fi and Wyll really are just two kids trying their best, and I should write more for them.

Exit, Stage Right - The Great Ace Attorney, Herlock Sholmes/Mikotoba Yujin, Herlock Sholmes & Iris Watson, canon compliant, fluff and hurt/comfort A proper homecoming, a precious hour and a half before they needed to step on stage for the final act, and more than enough of a fool's notion of sentimentality. Herlock Sholmes was set to enjoy what little time he had with his partner before the grand finale of their ten year dance. It was a shame, then, that he had to ruin it. 3 months and nearly 20k words for a hyperspecific headcanon that maybe one other person has and appreciates. Also one of my most favorite things I've ever written.

Rebirth (oh cursed cycle that you are) - RWBY, Oscar Pine & Ozpin, volume 8 canon divergence, character study There's a fullness in his mind that's ready to burst at the seams. There's a clawing in his heart searching for the presence now missing. When Oscar said he didn't want the merge to happen, he didn't realize how close he really was to having everything he never wanted. Tied for first as my favorite thing I've ever written for RWBY*, and easily one of the top five things I've ever written at all. Weird and speculative are what Oscar deserves for his situation.

Under Guise - SWTOR, Jedi Consular/Cipher Nine, OCxOC, fluff, Tumblr prompt fill A night at an Alderaanian ball is not exactly how Trick wants to be spending her time. Pestered by a man she has a distaste for even less so. Until suddenly, it was exactly what she wanted. Beloveds having fun. For as much as I dislike looking back and editing some stuff, this has really withstood the test of time, and I had an absolute blast writing it.

*(Bonus shout out to Chapter 4: Interlude: Children of Fate of my fic A Funny Little Thing Called Trust. I can't recommend the whole fic because I do someday want to go back and edit it up to my current standards, but the chapter itself is the other thing tied for first as the best thing I've ever written for RWBY)

hello i am going to use my tungle dot com for its intended purpose of microblogging in order to microblog. because if i don't keep my thoughts on my various language-inventing endeavors organized in a semi-public area, i'm gonna lose some crucial stuff in my discord inboxes, on god.

we are in my blog now. hi! i like languages. when the neurons diverge in just the right way i try to actually study linguistics - do not perceive my pending courseras and virtual linguistics campus certification - but more often than not they just... lead me to spit ideas and spiral into youtube and google scholar on random whims until i find something else to occupy me. this means that i've been lurking in various conlang circles since high school, but haven't ever actually completed one. (arguably i haven't ever actually started one lmao)

Esperplantasy Regional Languages: Fucking with Established Conlangs

premise: i hate naming things so this is the shorthand i came up with for my ESPERanto PLANTpeople fantASY setting, borne from thinking a lil too hard about what actual ethnic esperanto groups would be like and coming up with... post-post-apocalyptic plant-augmented humans. who are also facing a shitty government and so the main narrative is about plucky rebels communicating via codes and ciphers. it'd be a comic (mostly) in esperanto, because i think a story about obscuring communication told through a language created to facilitate communication is hilarious. and also my little language tweaking playground because-

vibe: what if you push little esperanto quirks as a cultural thing? what if two distinct groups order their sentences and particles differently, when they're just hovering over the edge of mutual intelligibility to be different dialects?? (contrast, for example, one who prefers SVO sentence order and puts the particle last - "Lesbano ĉi, kiel lesbano ajn, ŝatas muzikon de Mitski" - to someone who does particle-first SOV, "Ĉi lesbano, kiel ajn lesbano, muzikon de Mitski ŝatas". tttechnically the point of the -n accusative marker is so free sentence order in esperanto is valid, afaik, so tinkering with that would be interesting) what if la esperantidoj were results of actual language evolution... what if other languages were in here too...?

what i need to work on:

two variants of classic esperanto that are split into being ever so slightly influenced by eastern european and east asian language thingz, yet still intelligible to the average verdulo. run those variants through the esperant' beam since Da Youths™ in the setting tend to converse in that esperantido, which i like for its more casual sound.

creating an esperanto-toki pona creole OR mixed language (i call it esperantoki at the moment) for the diasporic fantasy!SEAsian main character to speak. partly because i adore how taglish sounds to the uninitiated and want to evoke that feeling. this will very likely also involve incorporating solresol, either as a secret means of communication, a musical language in esperantokiland culture, or just straight up into the vocab.

learning ido because the land's capital speaks it, and are pushing for it to be the main language of the setting. also, learning volapük, for the order of nomadic clown nuns who speak it as a sacred language. dw about it.

Virbanwanun: Fucking with the Languages of an Established Setting

premise: i fucking adore gubat banwa, and i'm morally obligated to plug it every chance i get. it's a classical southeast asia-inspired high fantasy tactical combat ttrpg, and a lot of its conflict is centered around violence between the five major mandalas in the sword isles. as a born and bred manilenyo with severe catholic baggage, i am (reluctantly???) fond of the lakanate of virbanwa, the mandala inspired by imperialist metro manila with severe catholic baggage. lmao. the setting has a canonical writing script (kasuratan!) and a trading language called trade mataram - and believe me i have spent time vibrating about both - but emphasizes that there is plenty of language diversity in the isles. i'm curious what conlang families in the mandalas could feasibly look and sound like, and i'm starting with the one that's the most my lane.

vibe: virbanwanun and ba-enun are both based on tagalog. i want to work specifically with manila tagalog - what is officially called Filipino down here but trust me the more people outside the metro you talk to the more you realize it is well and truly just manila tagalog - and then, because they'd successfully driven out the issohappans (not!spanish vampire alien motherfuckers), skew just a little more spanish. now, we already have a spanish creole over here - chavacano! - and believe me when i say i've been replaying the chavacano version of maldita's porque since i realized i wanted to mostly just tweak the ratio of tagalog to cavitenyo chavacano for virbanwanun. something maybe 60-70% intelligible to the average manilenyo, while also having more (and simultaneously less) of a spanish influence, with some hokkien and mandarin thrown in. why not

"improper" virbanwanun - the variant typically spoken outside of ananara. i really like the simple tense marking particles for verbs in chavacano - compared to the broke-ass aspect marking system for verbs in tagalog (super interesting to linguists! however a pain in the ass for me, a lifelong inglesero!! pay no attention to me i am simply a hater) - and am intrigued by the language name ("chavacano" was named as such because it was considered "vulgar/improper" spanish), so i thought it'd be funny if the imperialist mandala also squabbles with itself in the name of imposing one (1) Correct language to use. might throw some basque in so i can finally get conlanger cred in by using an isolate language.

(hence why the Q-lookin character is used for k sounds.) plus with kasuratan being an abugida - and my plans to make ba-enun's primary writing script a logosyllabary - i'd like a bit of alphabet rep in the isles' scripts.

Zodiac: Fucking with a Conlang from Scratch

premise: alright bear with me. what began as a rough story idea of an elite warrior force patterned after the celtic zodiac parenting a mysterious child warrior started innocently gaining little worldbuilding details until the scope creep ate me alive and i begrudgingly swallowed the fact that i am probably going to construct an entire language on top of my own conworld

vibe: although the celtic zodiac is not in fact real and thus i'm free to frolick in my own bullshit without fear of offending real people, looking at celtic shit did help anchor a creative direction for some worldbuilding choices. i'm trying to hammer the rest of the foundational worldbuilding out (apart from specific cultural tidbits the only big note in my brain is "IT'S NOT TROPICAL"), but i've decided the language will be heavily inspired by scottish gaelic and tamil - partly because they're both quite old languages and partly because phonology is the part of language construction that i dislike the most so i decided to take my first serious from-scratch conlang easily by taking from some of the languages whose sounds i like the most. (i like the sound of indic languages in general, but narrowing it down to the dravidian family and then further onto tamil makes my life easier.)

what i need to work on:

getting a basic grasp of starter vocabulary and the general grammars of gaelic and tamil. which means.... a looot of language instruction, given that unlike all of the abovementioned languages i don't have even a passing idea of what these languages are like apart from how they sound

building a protolanguage from the ground up, then maybe making variants as i build regions in the land. for story reasons, the land the story is set in is militant and smack dab between constantly warring places, so i will very likely also make at least partial languages for their neighboring territories.

from there i will derive a script, a sign language, and some kind of tactile language for the visually impaired. again for story reasons, this land is very accessible for disabled people, so i'll have to consider that not just in their language but in building design and such

Fleshmage Medical Terminology: Fucking with a Naming Conlang from Scratch (for Game Design Purposes)

premise: one of the ttrpg ideas on the development docket - which won't see sunlight for at least a year, believe me - involves, essentially, overenthusiastic doctors who can explode bodies with saint magic. part of the gameplay involves building your abilities, which u name the same way medical terminology is built; doesn't take a medical student to understand that if you see, say, myocardiectomy, it means my- (muscle) + -cardi- (heart) + -ectomy (removal). don't have ur heart muscles removed btw

vibe: so your character's abilities are named and categorized like medical terminology, but have you ever noticed how much latin and greek is in scientific and medical terminology? what if medical terminology was based on austronesian (...or malayo-polynesian, or philippine-type, idk i still have to decide the scope) language quirks instead? featuring things like reduplication (repeating syllables to alter meaning; e.g. in tagalog "araw [day]" -> "araw-araw [every day]") and verb-focused procedure names, as well as just a different general sound for medical terminology, is something i'm really excited to work on!

now. Compared to the other post, this post will specifically be going over TKP chars if they were actually playable in IDV as their own selves. I am NOT giving them titles bc um. It'll add onto the post creation time by me brainstorming ok. Also if I ever end up remixing any of these concepts into an actual idv oc you have to mind your business (lighthearted). These are gonna be longer because yknow. Whole concepts. Right. These are focusing on all characters being survivors in this case!

Charon

Like I had mentioned, Charon would be a good contain + rescue character. They would have an average/good decoding speed, but with others, I can see them gaining a debuff titled "Meticulous"? Flavor text being about Charon being good at doing his own work, but gets stressed when having others "complicate" his own workflow. You get.

Some of Charon's external traits would be like Coordinator's, such as army bond + steel will. I imagine Charon's version of army bond activates when a teammate gets injured as well. I imagine Charon also has useless flesh because they're a robot. I feel like there's a mechanic they would have that involves their pink slips but I'm not sure how yet. Maybe they could be used to temporarily disable the rocket chair? Don't think too hard about how it works. It's only polite to not use something pink slip'd.

So, like I said, I imagine January being an easy character to play. So I don't think there'd be any difficult mechanics for her? I can she her having the athletic trait, so she'd be good at vaulting and such. I think she'd work more as a contain character? Maybe she has a special where she can run fast and bounce off of walls similar to naib's elbow pads, and like the elbow pads, if she choose to bump into a wall, she can't controll where she goes. Also if she bumps into the hunter she can stun them because WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CANT DO THAT WITH NAIB. WHAT! I imagine she'd have a cooldown/limited use for that

What can you tell us about Naŧoš and Tongue of the Cactus?

Naŧoš was a conlang I put together based on the dynasties in my favourite CK2 runs and was intended to be a bit of a love letter to a few different natlangs, namely Irish, West Flemish, Northern Sami, Gujarati, and Phoenecian. In so doing it became a bit of a kitchen sink and I lost interest in it. I do still like the phonaesthetic, though, it just needs to go way less hard on the morphophonology. I had also ascribed it to a conculture across the sea on another continent from the rest of my conlangs, and I've scrapped a lot of the world beyond the main continent, so I'm even less inclined to work on it now. That being said it's still very usable so maybe far in the future I'll resurrect it.

TotC, though, that's a story! My first crack at what I could actually call a conlang and not a cipher or relex was in high school, but I didn't actually make anything at all usable till my first year of post-secondary with TotC. It started as an inside joke with my classmates about this pantheon of characters based on all of us, and we needed a divine language for them, so I took to making TotC. Part of the lore was that the Hera or Frig figure was someone whose profile picture was a cactus, and they gave the language to rest of the pantheon, hence Tongue of the Cactus. At least I think that was the case; this was like 7 years ago. I don't remember much about the conlang itself, but it stole some stuff from Quechua, and I developed this neat "writing" system for it based on Quipu with different knot types, cactus spines, and colours encoding segmental information.

I need to make a project that is uncanny and esoteric. Like something that will leave people with so many questions and be just somewhat creepy due to how weird and unknown it is. It would likely just sit in the shadows unknown for years before someone finds it. Just building up the history of it. I'm repeating myself so I'll move to something else. It'll probably be me acting as an odd user on maybe one or two websites. I think I'll do some weird math stuff as there isn't anything more esoteric than math. Which likely means I got a ton of studying to do. I'll also go ahead and put pointless codes and ciphers that seemly lead nowhere. I think I should also find a way to make my voice not at all like my normal voice, so I can speak none sense into the microphone. Mostly to add to the idea that it is a real person. Might, do other accounts and make it get a bit bigger but not big enough to be too noticeable until it's already been around for a bit. Like maybe only 6 others and that's it or accounts that just randomly pop in and leave. I think I just want it to feel like anyone who looks into it is going into another world that they can't understand. I'll figure out something. Now, before I chime in with totally needed comments, opinions and additions that the world couldn't live without (LOL), I'd like to briefly mention that I come from fandoms that pretty much just stick to either putting names together or funny terms/phrases for ship names, so the "(Something)Shipping" nomenclature is and will possibly always remain a bit unfamiliar to me. Sometimes it's pretty handy imo, for example with Wes x Rui where the alternatives would be "Res" (which is Latin and means "thing") and "Wui" (which sounds like a sound you'd make in a rollercoaster).

"ExperimentalShipping" is very cute. I like that one and will use it if I remember to (do remind me if I fail to do so). The name I've been using is "Colrein" (alternative spelling "ColrEin") and I also jokingly call them "the labmates" and "the evil science twinks" ("EST" for short), but well, the latter two are less ship names and more me being a little facetious ;3

Venus and Ein are actually so iconic for having snatched up the "CipherShipping" name, among all the pairings it could possibly apply to. Especially with Nascour having the "Cipher" trainer class. Either way, I've been using "Venein" (alternative spelling: "VenEin") for them. Obligatory shout-out/call-out to @manbehindtheshadows for dragging me into this

Now for the main event: Nascour x Ein. My beloved, my semi-secret obsession that I'm thousands of words into a fic for. "CastingCouchShipping" caught me off-guard too and I have no idea where that came from. Unless they, uh, had some fun in Venus' studio together? If you know what I mean? xD

The ship name I've created for them is "Nein". Yes, those among you who speak or know a bit of German are now going "is she aware of -" and yes, she is. I speak the language and I did it on purpose because that's easily top 3 of the funniest ship names I've ever come up with. Nein all the way! (Or rather... ja... 😌)

While I'm already at it: I couldn't find anything and also don't have anything for Nascour x Venus. A shame, since there are arguably some dialogue hints in other languages that they are close...

What I do have is a funky name for the Nascour x Venus x Ein throuple I've been slowly starting to peddle on Discord. Technically you could just combine "Nein" and "Venein", but "VeNein" would rely very heavily on that capital N, so I've started writing it as "V9". Which would also be the name of their podcast that they totally should have. I have no idea what that would be in -shipping nomenclature... maybe "MoreCipherShipping" or "CipherShipping+" or something like that, idk, I accept suggestions. Though I'm fine with V9. In my personal little mudpit that is me and my rare pairs.

Did I just absolutely derail my own post? Yes. And I had fun doing so. Maybe I'll make a separate post with all my ships and ship names sometime though, just for convenience😌

I know it's not ALL of the fandom because....wowee, have I seen some shit...but from the ask you've been getting I'm personally very glad and happy to know that we have some pretty cool fans on here. Who can view the canon ship that was the writer's intention to be endgame, but look at what the writers actually gave us in the whole and be like, "....yeah, okay we're not gonna deny that relationships like this exist, but we just don't vibe with it"

Because yeah, the sad part of reality is that a lot of what Catherine and Steve were written into is the sad hetero norm and genuinely what they think true romance is.

Doesn't make it healthy. It's one of those elements when you have to accept it as the end of a show or story...because if you did continue on, with all of the differences made through various ask....Steve and Cath are just better off as friends and allies. A way to scratch that itch if they still wanted to. But Catherine's need to help and be out there on concepts that are close to her and that we've only gotten like a glimpse...once? Maybe.

Whereas we've followed Steve and gotten to learn more about how insane his family history is, how some of his past in service was left unfinished and followed him after, then all of the stuff that happened after gaining the task force.

Not gonna lie. I am a McDanno shipper at heart so a personal ache I'll always have that despite so much potential it never happened. But I also see this as an important show moving forward...people will see that(hopefully) just cos you got a guy and a gal who may have sexual desire for one another, doesn't make them endgame. That unhealthy relationships is more than one of them being abusive and it can be that some people are better off as friends.

Yeah, I’m glad we can accept it for what it is, but also acknowledge the fact that it’s not healthy and that there were issues. We can’t do anything about it but we can at least bring some light to it.

Over all, I just feel like they gave the boys relationships in order to push the fact they’re straight? As I kinda mentioned, the relationships that PL did give the boys were… questionable… I’d say maybe Gabi and Lynn were good for Steve and Danny? But that diminished very quickly.

And you make an excellent point. Bad, or unhealthy relationships aren’t always obvious or physical/visible abuse. It could go much deeper. Relationships aren’t easy, and two people being in one takes work. Especially when those two have different experiences and or grew up with different ideas of what love is. And they could of easily had the two of them realize they’re better off as friends - however they didn’t come to that conclusion. So oh well…

Also yes, I am a mcdanno shipper at heart (hence my url) and i would love to make a case for them, always. However I try and stay unbiased and logical when I talk about stuff like this. XD Not always easy though.

Valtor headcanons? Like maybe some background stuff? What you think he'd be like in different settings or as a parent? Sexuality headcanons? (I don't know man, i just think it'd be fun. I'll share mine too if you want.)

I am so sorry this took forever. I don’t know what my problem was with this ask but I finally got some things here and managed to make myself write them out.

- Valtor has to have coffee in the morning. He’s not sure how he’s survived the early mornings without coffee before he was old enough to drink it but he absolutely considers it a blessing. It makes the nightmare of waking up a little more bearable.

- He’s always had a fascination with History and Politics. It is interesting for him to learn things about the magical dimension and how everything came to be. And dissect all the political moves of the rulers, finding faults in them and coming up with better ones. It’s kind of like a hobby to him that he can get away with because it isn’t totally useless in his mothers’ eyes. But he doesn’t really have much time for it with everything else they’re making him do.

- He loves challenges. It is probably his pride talking but he will dive in headfirst in any challenge. Puzzles, riddles, maps, ciphers, everything! He will find a way to deal with it no matter how much time and energy he has to exhaust. And if he’s working with someone else, he will inevitably turn it into a competition to see who can handle it first.

- His mothers have made sure to develop all kinds of intelligence in him so that he can be optimally useful on missions. He can do it all. Even if it means tearing himself apart in the process. That doesn’t matter much to them.

- In that vein, they’d taught him all about blending in with whoever it is he’s targeting. So he knows much about fashion since clothes can make or break your triumph. He has an eye (and even if he didn’t, they’d made him develop the skill) for colors and different shades, fabrics, cut, everything. Accessories included. He’s like a walking fashion magazine.

- (this is more about the fake dating au but I can also see it in general) Valtor had a natural inclination towards art but since a lot of your inner experiences can come through in your works, his mothers absolutely forbade him to draw. He could do it while a child so that they could monitor what was happening in his head but he wasn’t allowed to pursue his interest. It was a waste of time that could be spend more productively anyway. He was still taught how to read other people’s art, though, since it could also come in handy during missions.

- Valtor wanted to learn to drive a car but his mothers didn’t allow it. He had magic and could teleport so why the hell would he need a car? And waste time in learning how to drive one too? No way.

- Valtor hates his birthdays. When he was little, he usually got the day off but since everyone else was still busy he was all alone and didn’t have anything to do. It only reinforced the idea that what he’s trained for is most important and he would be outcast and lonely otherwise. And he never got any cake or candles that he could make wishes while blowing them out. Not that they would’ve come true anyway. Not with his mothers controlling every step he made.

- Valtor grew up in the Coven and was always surrounded by his mothers and other magic users most of whom were women. So it was easier for him to communicate with women since he understood them better. Not to mention that every interaction with other men was turning more or less into competition thanks to his pride and ego. He never really had any close friendships with anyone, though, since that was considered a weakness by his mothers.

- His mark and the mind-control it allows is an ability enabled by his demon form. Demons can possess people, right? So that translates into the mark and allows him to brainwash people and make them do his bidding. It is the one part of his demon form he tolerates since it makes his job easier and also does not require him to be in his demon form anyway.

So that’s all I got since there are endless possibilities if we look at what he’d be in different settings. I would love to hear your headcanons, though!

Tanba could have had more of the contract translated for Lyric to see, he supposed, but he figured the rest of it would have been boring to them; not to mention that, by design, the rest of the held nothing identifiable in regards to whoever sought it out.

"And I thought that was weird, too, me and my people don't often see a lot of work out that way either, London has tons of freelancers that usually pick that sort of stuff up, so this came as a surprise twice over; I don't know how, but you must have reeeeaaaalllllyyyy rustled someones nerves out there somewhere down the line."

That was one idea on that matter anyway, the most simple conclusion, though another did come to Tanba's mind, "or, someone put the contract in from London to purposefully muddy the waters and cover their trail even further, but we just don't know yet."

Tanba, after briefly vanishing and then reappearing near one of the windows in this room where he peered outside for a moment, turns back toward Lyric and says, "until we know more, my suggestion is that you need round the clock protection!!"

Who would oversee that 'round the clock' protection? If Lyric was wondering, they wouldn't have to wonder for long, as Tanba quickly, and enthusiastically gestured to himself, "by that I mean me naturally, I'll be sticking around and keeping a close eye on you while my people work a few leads."

What Tanba didn't say was that it could take a few days or longer, maybe even a week, for his underlings in Yatagarasu to track down the person or people behind this contract, but he was sure Lyric wouldn't mind either way! One day or a few weeks, who wouldn't want to spend all the time they possibly could with him, the great and wondrous Momochi Tanba?

"Don't think I see you as helpless or anything, either," Tanba amiably continues, in the middle of vanishing yet again and reappearing Lyric's side, an arm thrown over their shoulder in friendly fashion, "I'm sure you could probably fend off a few hardened killers, but €500,000,000 is a ton of money, and for all we know it will draw out the worst of the worst."

Tanba, for example, the powerful, efficient monster that he was, had been contracted to kill people for far less money, so he could only imagine the kinds of threats Lyric might see coming out of the woodwork with a price that large on their heads.

All the more reason for Tanba to stick around, and;

"Because I'm nice and I care soooooooo much, I also informed a few of your other close friends about the situation in the hopes they will offer up some help, too. As they say, the more the merrier!"

-> Lyric finds it in themselves to feel wary enough of Tanba's delight at reciting such a plea that it reassures them that they are still very much human, fearful of death catching them off-guard and with no purpose. Nobody wants to die without a reason, they think, and assassinations were such an aggressive practice; they had only dealt a death a handful of times in their life, often with great reluctance and forced by someone else's hand, and it never was satisfying or conclusive. It was always a mess. Always left their hands shaking with adrenaline and their stomach churning. They learned to keep their calm. Least of all yours. He knows them better than they expected: Lyric had incorrectly assumed Tanba had diluted down their character traits into ones that he liked to give purpose to bothering them from time to time, like a shiny new toy, but it seems he internalized their preferences as well. Perhaps due in part to his occupation and needing to know his target ( they wonder if it would be used against them, but if so he would have done it now. they wouldn't even be having this conversation, he would simply have killed them. ) He brandishes the letter before them, and without taking in the contents they hold out their hand for it expectantly.

"It's written in a cipher?"

-> Both a question and a statement. Not that they could read the script as it was, but it was safe to assume the contents were hidden beneath deceptive language and secondhand statements to make their trails even more obscure. ( their eyes flit down to the bottom. €500,000,000. who even had such an absurd amount of money? Lyric Gravellese feels like such a stark contrast to the rest of the script not written in English. ) He gifts them the paper, which Lyric can only imagine is an act of trust in its own right, to leave the contract of an incredibly skilled assassin in their possession, and their fingers curl around it slowly until they feel it bend and crunch in their grip. Their expression is a sober focus, not a hint of playfulness or disregard to be found. If he says so, they believe him.

"So, we don't know who it is, or why, but that they have an incredible amount of money and they're situated in London. I'm not even from London."

"What is your suggestion, then?"
