The Devil Judge Episode 6

I'm rewatching TDJ with some people on discord and we're at episode 6. And this scene with Gaon and Jinjoo sticks out now. I didn't notice when i first watched, but on my last rewatch and now, this scene just screams Gahan to me.

It starts off with Jinjoo saying how Yohan has been acting strange.

And that his mind is elsewhere. But Gaon started out the scene with his mind elsewhere, too.

And then continues to space out and think about other things while Jinjoo is talking to him to the point that Jinjoo even gets annoyed at him :\

And then he says he didn't sleep well...

To which Jinjoo asks if he had a date! (more like accuses because she's annoyed 😂)

And this is how Gaon reacts! With that little kind-of-smile and whatever the heck these other emotions are.

And then he just peaces out while Jinjoo's trying to do her job.

Gaon and Yohan slept together the night before is what I'm saying.

Creepy Ass Kathis

*Creepy ass Kathis* -The Banished City. -We explain to Charlie why we we were here before. Tell him about Akira and us chasing Yohan Baris. How he killed Akira's tribe and stole possibly the sanman sands. KATHIS translates to roughly the banished. -Pretty sure that this is "the" Kathis that was lost to history. The ones that angered the gods with technology. The language of Kathis was Teif. The route word for teifling. Mixture of elvish and Infernal. -Charlie shows us what Tief looks like.  Writes down the words in teif KINGDOM, which can also stand for a community of people, etc. -I show him the medallions that have similar writing. The translations were literally "Turning back the hands of fate".  What they actually could do he has no idea. Give Charlie the Medalions and show him the incomplete Cypher. -Need to find a place to rest. The main long house looks the most safe and secure. And has actually looks like it has been the most taken care of in the last year while the other buildings are over grown with plants and in rough shape. Some concern with that. -We realize that Melody is gone. No tracks or teleportaion. What happened. Was it Lestrange? Maybe? - Have to find a secure building. Check the long house. Burnt logs. Someone was here somewhat recent compared to everything else. Still very dark in here even with dark vision. Wtf? Elle finds a spider and is scared. Titan Eats it. -Charlie Takes time and gets a Tiny magical hut up for our protection. Mogo Heals us up. After Woody fixes Titan he examines a pot with Uwu. Based on rust and corrosion it was maybe used 6-18 months ago. Elle sends to Captain. He says it's been 2 minutes for us it has been 2 hours. Time dilation is different. Elle talking way faster on his end. Side note: there are stars here but no moon. Split up. Charlie, Woody, and Titan hold the fort. 2nd group: Elle, Uwu, and Mogo will try to go find Melody. Woody rests his eyes while Charlie is concerned due to Woody talking to Titan. -Melody: follows Gneese and winds up at the hotel room? Have a conversation about him being dead. Everything seems off. Like someone is impersonating Gneese but Melody can't put her finger on it. Takes her to some garden area. Was a massive explosion on one spot of him. Tells Melody that she has to remember somthing. She sees through her own eyes. She is saying why did I come here? -Elle, Mogo, and Uwu: Out looking for Melody. Find one path that has been avoided. Several other goat paths. They will go to place that has been avoided. Small winded path with a dropped down path with a basin. Man made water fall and an Irrigation system. There is a sign that is written in ancient Tief. Sign says Garden of hanging fruit. Specifically Pineapples. Ally Casted Comprehend languages to understand it. They look for tracks. Mogo can tell its devoid of tracks. No signs of life. Uwu checks with Arcana. Feeling some Necrotic Energy from further in.  Elle can feel it with her Phantom arm. Feels like there are walking into a Necrotic Fallout. They proceed cautiously. Elle picks up somthing unusual. Lattice work where dead plants were hanging. Shadows of people of walking. Walk past everyone. There are so many. Movement and a voice from a spot up ahead. At the epicenter of a crater they see Melody Staring at it qnd kicking a stone in here and there. -Melody: Listening to Gneese his voice is overlapping. Melody thinks to herself. I didn't leave. I'm not piloting. I'm taking a backseat. Other voiced asked why did you bring us here? She retorted this is where they died. He says you don't want to remember. Is this not Lestrang? -Shadows engulf Melody and shades are coming. A young girl with purple skin and small horns appears. Also a man and a woman having a conversation. Other people around mostly just shades. Little girl is draging a hilt of a sword. Man says "Melody what did you find"? Melody stars to remember. A blackened blade. Smoothed light. A scorched toy? She feels power come from it. Man (average height, Dark Hair, Moderate clothing) and Woman (Similar). Kid Melody plays with other children. Gets picked on due to the horns. She is upset and angry. "Praise him" she hears. The group also hears it. It echos. Religion Check: Woody is awakened on the telepathic link for all of this. Praise him is associated with the Dark Pantheon. The Domain of death. Two chief Dieties of death. The Matron of Ravens ( Lawful Good) Good afterlife and the Shadow King (Lawful Evil) Punished Afterlife. Gotta be the Shadow King! Melody as a kid in anger grabs the black Scimitar sword and all the children shades explode. Melody is without the shades now. Elle tells rest of party where they are. What should we all do? -Someone tells Melody you dont want to remember because you don't want to. Melody loses her balance and goes to a knee. She seems like she snaps back into reality. Dissasociation ends. Talks to The group and doesn't know what they saw. The group is kind of afraid of her. Melody looks like she had been crying black Ichor. Mogo casts identify. Doesn't find anything out of the ordinary unfortunately. Group never saw Gneese but saw everything else. Melody convinces them that the last thing she remembers was the end of the last combat. They believe it. They all come back to the rest of us. Thankfully we are all back together. Uwu asks Melody if she worships a diety. Melody is basically an Agnostic or an Athiest. What is causing all this. Why did the death entity want Charlie to bring then here? So many questions. Must rest. During watches: Mogo opens the door (why?) to see what the noise was. Sees giant evil caterpillars. Closes the door and waits. Leans against it. Creature is trying to smell from the other side. Chitering....one is crawling on the top of this place. Oh fuck. Mogo luckily is very stealthy. Titan wakes Woody up. He messages Mogo to get back in the bubble. Charlie wakes up and Woody warns him about the thing. Uwu snores loud. Woody tries to stop it. Makes her cry. Feels bad. Everyone awake after Charlie puts a telepathic bond. We try to figure out an idea. Luckily Chatlie Summons A stead to distract. It works. We finish a long rest. Thank goodness. -Prepare and eat. Then call Brick (Melody's Therapist) and see if we can meet him here. We wait for him. Charlie does want to check out the garden for answers but we decide to wait on Brick (Hope that doesn't bite us in the ass). He arrived but was acting suspicious. Send to him to see if it's the real him and he responds right there. But Elle still convinces Woody that things aren't normal. Woody pets Titan and then descretly activates true sight. "Brick's" shadow form is revealed. And he berates us. Mogo tries to banish. It doesn't work. In Melody's head she saw Woody shoot brick and Elle come after her. Melody transforms into a more sinister version with black bird wings formed out of shadow. We close as the shadows are gathering. Gonna be one heck of a fight next time for the gang.
