Thinking about the fact that when Phos first found the new lifeform, their first actions were to offer it limbs and sight - the same thing Sensei did too. When Sensei finds new gems, he carves them into the same uniform shape and gives them eyes. He makes them emulate humans.

Also makes me think about what the doctor said - when you reach that bridge, burn it. Did that refer to erasing all traces of humanity? The lunarians, gone. The Admirabillis, gone. The ice floes, gone, and therefore there are no new gems. That bridge was burnt. And when Phos reached a new crossroad with the new lifeform, it chose not to build that bridge back to the old world. By this point, that bridge to humanity is probably well and truly burnt and all its remnants gone (except maybe Phos themself, who now has cute roumb hands that are a lot more fleshy and human-like imo).

The Doctor also said something about Adamant being the bridge to the new world - I wonder if Phos was the bridge to the new world by burning the old one down and erasing all traces of it. Something about nirvana and starting anew, maybe. i dunno Buddhism don't quote me.
