1) the confessional after bowie picked wayne, they talked abt not knowing what to do if they aren’t able to work together

2) them being extremely insistent on playing fair (pretty sure that mentality will be rewarded this season since bowie didn’t win last season by being shady, but still made it to the final two, they might wanna balance that out this season)

3) wayne got cut off by an announcement after saying ‘can’t we do both?’ in response to julia and mk saying ‘we don’t want to play fair, we want to win’

4) the only reason they went home last season is bc of an injury

i fully agree about people obsessing over personal tidbits like mark’s faith or chenle’s love for basketball, people get so weird with it and act like that’s all that idol is. i am SICK of the whole mark and watermelons thing. like let it go i beg… but kpop fans are incapable of that lmfao (sidenote but that’s why i prefer your fics/can’t read half the fics on here bc so many fic writers turn these idols into caricatures of themselves and it gets so boring to read fics about idols that apparently don’t have a personality outside of the things we publicly know about them. johnny can like more than just coffee, same with jaemin and photography. i’m glad you kind of reinvent them with each fic.)

also idk if it’s as much intentional as much as it’s a welcome side effect (on the company’s side) but idols like jeno who don’t offer up much of themselves, parasocially or not, also kind of act like a blank slate that the delulu fans can project anything onto. want jeno to be your lame gamer bf? he can be that. your submissive puppy? sure. your rough daddy? anything you want. i’m sure that plays into the kind of weird people each idol attracts.

i’m sure it’s true for all of kpop but i think it’s the most obvious when you look at nct specifically bc there are so many members and each of their solo fanbases are so wildly different from one another. like we’re all nctzens but a johnny stan is going to have a different fan experience than a kun stan lmfao

i feel like mark or doyoung have the fanbases they have because they’re quite willing to engage with the parasocialism, whereas jaehyun is the opposite, he’s a pretty face people project their own fantasies onto. both kind of just encourage the weird ass behaviour tho, bc like you said it’s the companies who benefit the most from it

idk not to shittalk parasocial kpop fans too much bc after all i am one too at times lmfao, personally jaemin draws me in the most when it comes to that stuff. i’ve mellowed out over the years but every few months i’ll have an intense kpop phase and it usually leads me back to jaemin or johnny

omg u get it, u get it!!!!!! seeeeee I say this enough but armys are fr the best fanfic writers I have everrrrrrr come across. I love how they build worlds and personalities and characters for the members.
